Tohru stopped in front of the mirror and fixed her hair. She put a hand on her stomach, giving herself a soft smile. Then she took deep breath before looking at the small pink stick again, putting it in her purse and grabbing the bento as she walked out the door. Their small house was in walking distant to the Dojo, one of the perks of Kyos job. It only took a few minutes for her to reach it. Tohru stood in the doorway of the large training room watching her husband. He was crouched down in front a small girl student. Kyo had punch pads on his hands as the girl kicked and punched her small limbs at him. Every so often he would give her tid bits of advice. It made Tohrus stomach flutter with butterflies.
"Put your weight on your other leg for balance. Much better! Now put all your strength into your punches. Very good! Don't forget your breathing. Put all your strength in your fist when you punch. Much better! Alright, that's it for today. Go wait in the lobby for your mom." He told her and stood up. Both Kyo and the girl bowed to each and she ran through the door, greeting Tohru as she did.
"Hi Mrs. Sohma!" Tohru smiled and waved. "Hi Hikaru-chan!" Kyo looked up and smiled brightly.
"Is it lunch time already?" He asked happily. Tohru nodded. Every day around lunch time they ate a bento together under a nearby sakura tree. It was blooming beautifully with petals flowing through the wind around them.
"How are you feeling? You've been sick a lot lately." Kyo said after they were settled. He put a hand on her forehead. Tohru blushed.
"Yeah. I'm feeling okay today. I, ummm, actually need to talk to you about that." She opened her purse and pulled out the stick. Kyo stared for a bit before his chopsticks slipped from his fingers.
"Wait... D-does that... mean you're..." He stuttered out. Tohru nodded.
"It was actually Isuzu who gave me the idea when I talked to her the other day. I told her I had been sick and she said I should take a pregnancy test. I know that it's soon but-" She was cut off by Kyos lips pressing against hers and his arms pulling her against his body.
"I'm so happy." He choked out after they separated.
"I was a little worried about how you would react. I'm so relieved!" She said.
"My family history is troubled to put it lightly so I can't say I'm not scared. I just hope I do well by this kid." He said with a touch of sadness in his eyes. Tohru put her hand on his cheek and looked lovingly into his eyes.
"You'll be wonderful! I see how good you are with your students, so patient and gentle. I have no doubt you'll be a loving father, Kyo. You're so kind." She said softly. Kyos eyes burned with tears. He laid his head on her shoulder and wept, from both happiness and overwhelming love for her and the life new they created. Tohru just held him close, running her fingers through his hair and softly whispering, "shhhhh" and "it's okay" repeatedly in his ear until he calmed down.
"I love you so much, Tohru." He whispered into her skin. She continued to soothingly rub his hair. "Thank you."
"I love you too, Kyo." She whispered back.
