Sonny let the fury he had reigned in over his own capture, and of Bleylock flow freely as he was in pursuit of the humanoid. Bleylock had the sphere with the metaflux with him, and Sonny was not going to let him get away. Not with a weapon like that. There was certain kinds of people Sonny just despised, and those that blackmailed the innocent to have it their way, made his list. And there was more personal matters involved as well with this general. Where was he hiding?
Sonny hurried all he could, and as he turned a corner, he saw Bleylock enter an elevator. As it started to go up, Sonny didn't think of his own personal safety. He jumped, and managed to get hold of the undercarriage of the elevator. What now separated him from the most dangerous person in the galaxy, was just a thin plate of steel.
D'Jok had his confidence back as they headed into the extra time. And Sinedd was not happy.
"Whats going on D'Jok? You really intend to sacrifice your father for a stupid football match?" he asked.
D'Jok smirked.
"My father is safe and sound Sinedd. You must be happy. We are finally going to find out who is the best. You or me" he said.
D'Jok made ready for extra time play with a confidence boost like no other. His father was safe now, that was all the motivation he needed to play all out. Aarch informing him of the rescue had been a game changer. This match wasn't settled yet, and Bleylock would not win this. Being blackmailed, only made him more determined to be defiant to the evil humanoids demands. Now that he could no longer kill his father, D'Jok decided to make up for the first two halves, by securing the win for his team. Go Snow, Go!
Bleylock was sure he had lost Sonny by now. That man was dangerous when he ran free. While he was contained in the bubble, Bleylock had felt safe. He had to give up his hopes to bring Sonny back to the past they shared. Sonny was not listening, and he had the knowledge to foil his carefully constructed plan. If he couldn't control the pirates through him, he had better get as far away from him as humanly possible. He had made it out, and not seen Sonny. Just a little further, and he would get away.
"Not so fast Bleylock!" sounded a familiar voice behind him.
Bleylock turned.
"Blackbones!" he replied.
Sonny seemed undeterred by his flathery.
"You know what I want. So the easy thing to do is to give it to me, now!" he commanded, with clenched fists.
Bleylock laughed.
"You have changed Blackbones. I can still remember the insignificant little scientist you were when I dragged you from your home. Look at you now. The chief of the pirates" Bleylock said.
Sonny did not let the words get to him, A person with a big ego would, he was not such a person.
"You on the other hand havent changed Bleylock. You are still the same lawless scum you always were" Sonny replied rather coldly.
Bleylock was growing in confidence. He took a few steps closer to the furious pirate.
"I take that as a compliment, coming from a man whom caused an iceage to cover an entire planet. And I am not to blame for you and your partners mistakes" Bleylock said.
He had failed to notice, he wasn't the only one walking closer. Sonny had done the same. The distance between them was so close, all he would need to do, was throw himself forth.
"And that caused your son to grow up without a father. And at this moment, he is going to loose the final for his team, and victory will be mine, once he does" Bleylock said.
Sonny chuckled.
"Paying attention to details was never your forte Bleylock. The finals is over, and The snow kids won" Sonny informed as he stepped forth.
But Bleylock wasn't having it.
"I will never give you the metaflux. You don't deserve it" Bleylock yelled.
Sonny shrugged, then, he lunged forwards, pulling Bleylock with him in the fall.
Corso tried to clear his head over this crazy night. So many things had taken place that he never imagined the pirates doing. They had even been arrested, and released within hours. Sonny was going to have a laugh hearing about that.
Speaking of wich. Corso and the others made it out and into the center, where people gathered in front of the big screens, cheering for the new galactic football champions, The snow kids. A team that started the season as completely unknowns, and now, stood at the top, best of the best. Among them, Sonny, their cherished leaders very own son. Corso opened his transmitter and dialled Sonnys code.
"Were are you at Sonny? We just made it out. And did you get Bleylock?" Corso asked.
Sonny smiled.
"I am at the north screen. I got the metaflux, and Bleylock.. I didn't get him. He fell, more than 50 storeys. I..don't think he could have survived that. He is a monster, but no one deserves to die like that" Sonny said.
Corso shook his head.
"You are way too kind to him Sonny. He was not going to let you live, we both know. It seems fate stepped in, as you are still here, and he is not. Maddox will not be happy. He wanted to put Bleylock on trail. You might want to update him on the status" Corso suggested.
Sonny nodded.
"All in good time Corso. First, lets deal with the sphere and the metaflux. I am not going to rest easy until it is safely locked away on board the Black Manta" Sonny said.
Corso chuckled.
"I would suspect you would want to join the celebration of the snow kids incredible win tomorrow, seeing your son is now a champion" Corso said.
Sonny nodded with a big smile.
"Its the stuff of dreams what they did Corso, and off course, I do plan to stop by at the very least. I expect my wife to be in attendance as well" Sonny said.
That made Corso soften.
"So, you have already talked about things? With a lady as beautiful as her, I cant say I blame you for wanting to make sure things move forwards. I would do the same in your place" he said.
Sonny smiled.
"Lets take care of all things related to the metaflux tonight, and update Duke Maddox. I got a feeling, we are in for a positive surprise".
It was the day after the final. The snow kids were the talk of the galaxy with their incredible win. A big celebration was planned, but only family and staff would be in attendance. During the day, the snow kids relaxed, and felt the drain. And reading the story over and and over again didn't even feel like it got old.
Helena had taken the time to head to one of the favourite stores of hers with Maia. They had everything here, the latest of fashions. Helena tried on several dresses, Maia smiled as Helena spun around in the dress she considered buying. That red dress, with the black lacing would compliment her husbands uniform to perfection.
"You should get that one Helena, it looks beautiful on you. You look like a million standard units" Maia smiled.
She had not seen Helena glow like that in forever. It was a shine in her eyes, a flirtatious smile with glimmer in the eye.
"If you don't buy it Honey, then at least allow me to do it" They heard a voice say.
Sonny stood in the door, with a smile on his face. Behind him, they saw Corso.
"Sonny!" Helena ran over and embraced her husband whom lifted her into his arms and then snuck a kiss.
Maia looked at Corso.
"Is it safe for the two of you to be seen here in broad daylight? To my knowledge, at least one of you has a bounty on his head for two million standard units" Maia reminded them.
Corso chuckled.
"How about you tell your gorgeous wife the good news Sonny?I think good news is something that needs be shared as often as possible" he said.
Helena smiled as she looked at her husband whom carefully put her down.
"What good news could that be Honey? Don't keep me in suspence please. Last night was more than enough" she smiled.
Sonny pretended to think it over.
"If I tell you, will you allow me to buy the dress you are wearing for you? You really look good in it" Sonny said, clearly admiring the look of his wife.
Helena laughed.
"Deal. So, tell me" she laughed as Sonny pulled out a card to pay for the dress.
All the parents seemed to be present, well, all except his father that was. And D'Jok was in too good a mood to even feel sorry about it.
His father was the most wanted man in the galaxy. For him to be here was dangerous. He risked being arrested.
Then, Maia came.
"Maia, where is mom?" D'Jok asked.
Maia smiled.
"She and your father are both on the way D'Jok, Don't worry. They probably got caught up kissing, again" she said.
"Dad is here too? Is that even safe?" he asked.
Maia smiled.
"I believe he has some news for you, news that you will like alot" Maia smiled.
At that moment, the said mother and father made their entrance. Helena wore the dress Sonny had bought her, her hand on his arm.
"Mom! Dad" D'Jok wasn't sure if he walked over or ran. He had both his parents here, and it felt amazing.
"Hi there champ. Congratulations D'Jok. That was a fantastic win. I caught the moment when you accepted the cup on behalf of the team. I never felt more proud ever son" Sonny said with a smile.
That was when D'Jok noticed something. Sonny was always accompanied by another pirate. As their leader, Sonny was used to having a bodyguard. Today, it was just him and his mother.
"Maia said something about you having good news dad. And I cant help but notice, Corso isnt here. Is there a connection here?" he asked.
Sonny smiled.
"A sharp observation Son. And the reason for that being, The pirates are no longer wanted men. As a token of their appreciation of the dangerous work we took on with the metaflux, Technoid has granted the pirates immunity. That means, my men and I are no longer subject to being arrested on sight. Or have you snow kids not noticed that my wanted poster for two million standard units has been taken down off the holo network?" Sonny asked, raising an eyebrow.
D'Jok nodded. He had not noticed. His father commenting on it like this, was amazing.
But he had one more question. Bleylock, this evil humanoid that nearly killed his father, what had happened there?
"What about Bleylock Dad? I broke the agreement with him. I was so afraid that meant he would kill you. But I couldn't betray my team" he said.
Sonny pulled his son into an embrace.
"D'Jok, remember that I told you not to listen to him, that I told you I would get out of it?" he asked.
D'Jok nodded.
"Son, I know Bleylock, I once worked with him, when still working for Technoid. I knew you couldn't trust him. Bleylock is not the kind of person that honours his word. Not for all the years I have known him. You could say, the only good thing that came from meeting him, and working with him, was meeting your mother. Bleylock can be best described as deceitful. He follows his own laws, from his own homeplanet. You have never been there, they don't compete in the cup because they did things that made the flux society ban their flux, many decades ago. For the sake of the galaxy and galactik stability, it is best kept that way. In this galaxy, you will meet both good humanoids, and you will meet bad ones. I may not always be able to tell you whom is who, that is an instinct you need to develop. Bleylock became your first bad experience, like he also became mine. But he wont bother you again son. He fell, to his own death, in his neverending search for power. If there is a moral lesson here, that is that power is something that comes with responsibility, not just to yourself, but also, to others. I learned that as the leader of the pirates. One day, you too will learn son. Let all that bad stuff with Bleylock go. He cant hurt you any more. Tonight, we celebrate you, the amazing Snow kids, and a win for the record books. Your mother and I are very proud of you son" Sonny said, ruffling his sons hair.
Helena smiled. To see father and son together like this..this was a genuine family moment. Maia had pulled out a camera.
"How about the three of you pose for a family photo?" she asked.
The three members of the Blackbones family, D'Jok in front, posed, in a photo that would make the mantel of the home in Akillian in the months to come.
