Chapter 8: Sunday's second surprise sight
.
After Bakugo left, the six lead by Izuku headed to the Foundry and the boy carried his sister on his shoulders as her ride.
"How he could be accepted by U.A.? asked Mahoro from the greenette about the blond.
"He is a good student despite the fact he was a bully of mine and he is covered by Aldera, the school we go. Actually I went." replied the teen to her.
"I can't believe that." commented angrily Momo.
"If he gets in, I'll make sure he'll change." said the older Midoriya.
"That Bakugo will fall hard from his high pride." noted Katsuma.
Continuing their walk Kota thought to sense someone sneaking around them and after an audible hush, Eri spotted a movement in the bushes in front of their group, also her brother seen that.
"Show yourself or I'll beat you up. I'm not in the mood for a stupid sneak on us prank. You better do what I did say." told Izuku to the hiding thing. Now the others were prepared too. Instantly a tall, blue eyed blond teen jumped out of his hide.
"Found me!" smiled happily the newly appeared one.
"What do you want?" asked Kota from the newcomer.
"I am Togata Mirio and I am at an early internship with Sir Nighteye. After a chat he agreed to take me here to little special training and to meet with an exemplar kohai send-up of mine." explained the blue sweater and jeans wearing boy.
"You're from U.A!" identified him Mahoro.
"Play with your Quirk without your costume and you'll find yourself lighter." threatened subtlety the greenette his possible future sempai.
"Hey, easy man. I came in peace." calmed him down the blond as Eri tried to hide behind Izuku's head.
"What's wrong with his Quirk?" asked Kota from Eri's brother.
"His Quirk is Permeation, that's allow him to phase through objects and helps him to lose his pants easily." replied the teen.
"So did you come here for a lesson about keeping it?" joked Mahoro.
"No, I am the one to tutor him in that subject." answered the catching up Nighteye. "Togata-kun is a second yearer in U.A. and after chewing my ear about meeting with Midoriya. I took him here for a week in my company."
"But this is the just the first week of the first semester!" Katsuma looked quizzically at the shorter teen boy.
"A very good student in that school can ask for extra internship time if they can keep up with their class. This is how he can be at one and being here." explained the teen.
"Yep, so which of you is the Midoriya, who was mentioned by Sir?" asked the U.A. student.
"It's me. I am Midoriya Izuku." introduced himself the greenette.
"Eri-chan is his sister, the siblings are Mahoro and Katsuma, the boy with us is Kota and I am Yaoyorozu Momo." introduced the others and herself the young lady.
"Nice to meet you all. Can we have a spar Midoriya-kun?" replied the blond.
.
A little later they were at the Training Keep's Hero Training Room, where Togata stood proudly in his hero costume as the spectators sat behind the spectator room's protective glasses.
"This going to be interesting." noted Mahoro.
"Izu wins." declared Eri shyly.
"Are you sure? Togata is said to be very good." countered Kota, he heard that news from his parents.
"But Izu is smarter and he can use any suit." replied the little girl.
"In his place I would choose the strongest one." told them the Shimano girl her opinion.
"That's too obvious. Plus Togata-san can't do anything against that." said Katsuma.
"However, Midoriya-kun would have trouble to land a hit on the Hero Course student too. Model 6 is sluggish. However, its firepower is terrifying." argued Kota.
"Hey, when does he finish to change?" asked Togata from the spectators.
"He is coming." replied Nighteye as the challenged walked in the training room. He wore a suit unseen before, this was mainly red, it had a built of the fifth one, but had three engine-like objects on its back. Only the faceplate was golden and the chest light and the visor lights around the eyes among the repulsor places were glowing green. However, this armor was much sleeker than Model 5. Suddenly the visor popped up and it revealed the pilot.
"Are you ready for the bad time?" asked Izuku jokingly from the challenger.
"I am Sans." replied Mirio with a smile.
"Everyone, this is Model 8, the Hypervelocity Armor Mark I, AKA Tiger. This is my fastest suit. It can run circles around the Model 6 in speed. However, I needed some time to invent a force field to protect me from the rapid movements and to augment my personal speed." the maker introduced and revealed some info about his armor to the spectators.
"Are you sure this is safe?" asked him Lemillion.
"I made some test run beforehand. And it's safer than I thought." replied the armor wielder as he slid down his visor. "Are you ready?" he asked everyone at present.
"Yes!" answered him the children and the other students in his age, although Nighteye only nodded. He was curious about how the two's first spar could go. Before Togata could launch an attack, he had to use his Quirk to bypass two repulsor blasts.
"Hey! Where is the warning?" he said to his opponent.
"I gave you one. In the real world you won't get the luxury to be warned if someone attack you." told him the shorter combatant as he fired some blasts at the ground, forcing the latter to dodge.
"Izu is fast." noted Eri.
"With this suit he can match my intern in speed and beat him in durability as well in offense. This is only the start of the spar." reviewed Nighteye as Lemillion instantly disappeared and reappeared to give an uppercut to his opponent. However, the latter dodged by leaning back.
"You're fast." complimented Togata.
"You too." exchanged Izuku the compliment as he flew up to the celling.
"What's wrong? Being afraid?" mocked the older fighter until he saw the chest is glowing with great intensively.
"Wide Heartbreaker!" shouted the flyer as his opponent had to take cover where he could as a rapidly widening blast enveloped the ground, so he landed in the spectator's room.
"Get out here!" yelled Mahoro at him."
"Sorry. I had to think fast." replied the caped teen as the attack in the other room ended without a trace.
"Another update works." noted the landing greenette as Lemillion charged at him in a rapid pace to punch him. But the armored one caught the move.
"Wow! Good reflexes." noted the surprised boy.
"My augmented reflexes are faster than yours. And if I am too slow, then the AI called Tony 2. leaps in to temporally taking my place." revealed the punch catcher.
"This is a real challenge." exclaimed the intern and he disappeared again.
"They're faster than my eyes!" noted Kota.
"This suit can match Hawks easily in speed and can rival or beat even Gran Torino or All Might. Midoriya-kun is a very good engineer." analyzed Sasaki.
"You can run but you can't hide." boasted the viridian boy as he backhandedly blocked a roundhouse kick from his opponent. "Nice kick."
"Thanks, you're good too." praised the kicker.
"I am a martial artist. I would like to see you catching me off-guard in this suit." replied Izuku as Mirio phased through his own roundhouse kick.
"Let's see if you can counter this." yelled Togata as he phase-punched Midoriya in the face, to his surprise, that didn't work. His fist met with the latter's helmet.
"My bad, I didn't mention that this is the first suit to have this kind of protection. The next one won't be phased." revealed the younger teen.
"Man, we can go forever. You can't hit me, and I can't hurt you in your tin can." commented the blond.
"Wow!" the kids and Momo were in awe. Nighteye on the other hand had to catch his falling jaw.
"He can counter Togata's Quirk! Midoriya is a genius teen prodigy." noted the man.
"He is as smart as me or smarter." added Yaoyorozu.
Lemillion was fast, but his opponent was even faster. The intern was tough, but Izuku wore an armor which was much better. The blond was smart, the greenette was smarter. They were similarly experience fighters too. However, the shorter teen was a martial artist too, that helped him to adapt way much better than with pure analysis in the fight.
Seeing the two predicting each other in the spar was fun to watch for the children. Yaoyorozu and the Hero on the other hand used this as a learning experience.
"Midoriya-kun only said an Ultimate Move name once, Togata-san is yelling his moves almost all the time. Unlike him, the former is having a different combat experience among style." reviewed the girl.
"My intern is good, but his problem is taking some parts of the heroism too seriously. His opponent just fights, he doesn't name moves because he views it as a waste of time." shared Sasaki his opinion.
"I was taught by Midoriya-kun if I want to use a super move, then I must make short and simple name for it. And if the fight is very serious, then I should keep my mouth quiet." revealed Momo one of her lessons.
"He is right, many forgets the fact talking is taking precious time in action. He is like a western style hero, on the other hand, Togata-kun is like a Shonen action hero." said the man.
"Which is troublesome if the opponent is pragmatic. Midoriya-san opened with an attack after he asked: Are you ready? That was when he started the spar." joined Mahoro.
"Now I see why he says we should be very cautious with those moves. Togata-san is lagging when he attacks with a special move. Midoriya-san just goes what's work." said Katsuma.
"Lemillion is tiring." commented Kota suddenly and the analyzers also turned to watch more precisely. He was right, even though the Hero Course student had a good stamina, it wasn't infinite, add his Quirk and the fact he needs to hold his breath at every use. His fatigue started to get better on him, unlike him, the armored fighter was fine.
"Do you need a break?" asked Izuku from Togata.
"No, I'll go beyond. Plus Ultra!" replied the latter, before his foe started to fly circles around him.
"Are you kidding with me?" now he was surprised, the greenette's speed seemingly increased many folds.
"I'm getting used to my suit. It isn't hard to wield it if your armor moves itself when you needed. You can't outlast the Trapiche reactors in my suit. They go forever. You're tiring. I recommend a break for us. In an endurance match, I win, but in a fast fight this is only goes for a draw." explained the flyer.
"You fought enough today. Now, cease the spar." declared Nighteye the end of the clash.
.
After the spar, the eight people had a lunch in the Midori Tower's cafeteria at a large table, Eri sat next to her brother and argued with the other kids about Izuku's and Mirio's match.
"Izu won." stated the girl with the horn.
"But none of them won. It's a draw." countered Mahoro, being nine years old, she could argue better than the younger kids in the group.
"Midoriya-san said that he was in a better position to win." said Katsuma, protecting the shyer girl's point.
"But the match had no clear winner." noted Kota, he was neutral in the argument.
"I thought I can beat you, but that suit of yours just levelled the playing field." told Togata to his former opponent.
"You're right, without that force field, you could possibly beat me faster if you took your time previously to learn some martial arts. I had fistfights with Rappa Kendo and his attacks were difficult to endure. He was also more heavily built than you." revealed the greenette.
"You had fistfights with Rappa?" the Hero and the intern were surprised on that fact.
"Izu is big and strong." said Eri proudly.
"I can't argue with that." gave up Mahoro, as the others laughed at the statement of the younger girl. Most of them knew that Izuku is a strong fighter and he is bigger than the four kids.
"What happens if we fight Quirkless?" asked Mirio from the older Midoriya.
"I would introduce you to the mat very quickly. If you use your Quirk, then it's possible that I can endure your moves until I land a direct hid and win from there. I've learned Quirkpoint Arts, those are about cancelling Quirk Factors temporally. Without that you could win." replied the asked boy.
"You're very good. You can beat me in a fight with that suit." complimented the blond.
"With that I can beat the Big Three of U.A., which includes you. I must work on other suits, especially the one I plan to use at the Entrance Exam." said the greenette.
"But you're strong with them already." exclaimed Kota.
"No, I need to improve. I am far from my goal to be a Hero. The Hero Armors also will help the police and some of the Heroes. The mass produced suits will be tested in the next year. I might need to make better suits to succeed the current and previous models." countered the teen.
"Even Rubber Ducky?" asked Eri worriedly.
"No, I won't replace him." told her the older sibling as the others looked surprised minus Momo.
"They mean the second underwater suit. Rubber Ducky is its name." explained to them the heiress.
"You must be joking." noted the blond teen as his mentor laughed on the name and the Non-Midoriya kids joined to him when it clicked the siblings are serious.
"The fact you three can say that name with a straight face is very funny." said Nighteye.
"I've seen that armor beforehand and works very well in the water, it was the second fastest suit until the Model 8 have been finished." said Momo.
"The second fastest?" this surprised Mirio.
"Underwater mind you for its speed, the only suit could match it in overall top speed was Model 6 before the eight's armor." revealed Izuku. "Plus Eri named it that way and I won't change it."
"I wonder what the news will say when the public learns the name." thought Sasaki on the subject.
"I bet it'll be a lethal joke suit." commented Mahoro.
"They'll laugh until they learn what it can do." added Katsuma.
"Dad and mom won't believe this." said Kota.
"No way. You can't seriously name your suit as Rubber Ducky." Togata had a hard time to believe it.
"I didn't think twice at the naming and the name stuck. I'll use that armor proudly in rescue work. You'll understand when you see it." replied the armor maker.
.
Finishing lunch Izuku, Eri and Momo introduced the others to the Model 7 AKA Rubber Ducky in the Armory Tower.
"You were actually serious." noted Mirio when he saw the suit.
"It has an engine like Tiger's pointed Kota at the equipment on the armor's back.
"That's gives most of the speed in water to him." said Yaoyorozu.
"Now, do you see the similarity?" asked Izuku from the seven as he lifted a toy rubber ducky in his hand.
"And I thought my Hyper-Density Seals were lethal joke items. Your suit tops them easily." exclaimed Nighteye.
"They're similar in appearance." agreed Katsuma.
"Which are your favorite armors?" asked the blond from the kids.
"Mine is Model 4, the heavy-lifter." replied Kota instantly.
"Model 5 to me." added Katsuma.
"I like Tiger, it's fast." said Mahoro.
"Rubber Ducky is mine." told them Eri, although they learned that a bit earlier.
"I like the Model 6's arsenal. It's versatile and the suit is like a good example of dark isn't evil, after all Midoriya-kun is the pilot." revealed Yaoyorozu.
"Until he goes Punisher on the Villains." joked Sasaki.
"Which suit will be the next?" Katsuma was curious to know the following armor.
"Model 9 and Model 10, I had to change in line, because the space armor needs more work on it and the ninth suit is easier to be done. That'll be an upgrade of the Model 5." told them Izuku.
"You work on a suit usable in space!" Togata was shocked on the news.
"I would like to see the launch of the smallest man piloted vehicle venturing into space." said Nighteye.
"Don't worry, I'll make a video." reassured him the greenette.
