"Did I do anything wrong today," he said, "or has the world always been like this and I've been too wrapped up in myself to notice?" ~ The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

Yui was laying in her bed, wide awake and troubled. She can't for the life of her remember what happened at the alley to the moment on the doorstep. She rolled over to her side, facing the window that illuminates the twilight sky. Her hand consciously went to her neck. Rubbing the faint scare of Ayato's fangs. She thought back on why she received such a harsh punishment.

(Flashback~ Streets of the 4th Ward)

Yui was running as fast as her legs could carry her. Her lungs burned and throbbed with each breath she took. 'You think you can get away from me Pancake? After many attempts of escaping us and the many times we caught you, we still bring you back. Guess Yours Truly will have to get it through that thick skull of yours. I will give you a chance to escape from me. If you can make it back to the mansion without me catching you, I'll let you go. But! If I catch you, you will forget any thought of escape and you will submit yourself to me. Run fast and far Pancake,' Ayato's voice echoed through Yui's mind like a warning bell that won't shut off. It's been 20 minutes since this game of cat and mouse between her and Ayato began and so far she is nowhere near to the mansion. "God help me!" she whispered in desperation.

She was frantic now. Not caring if she kept bumping into every bystander in her wake. She just wanted to escape from that horrible place, along with the residence within it. "Hehehe..." a male voice laughed. Yui stopped in her tracks at the sound of his laughter. With horror filled eyes, she looked around the streets for the source of the laughter.

Over the many heads of bystanders, one stood out from all the rest. This one made Yui's blood run cold. He had reddish hair and sharp mischievous green eyes. His smile was wide with his fangs poking out in mockery. "Pancake~" he sang. Without a second's hesitation Yui turned and ran. At the moment she wasn't even thinking of returning to the mansion, she just wanted to get away.

Without thinking she turned into one of the back alleys, hoping to get Ayato off her scent. But that was a big, big mistake. The moment she turned into the alley a body like a brick wall went smacked dab into her face. She stumbled back against the force but hands grabbed her and kept her steady. "Got you Pancake." Ayato smirked with an evil glint in his eyes. "Let go of me!" Yui screamed, struggling to break free. So close to freedom and yet still so far. Ayato just smirked and pushed her against the wall, barely using any strength to over power her.

"Don't talk back to Yours Truly. You have no right to refuse me. You lost, so it is only right I claim my prize." He leaned down, moving Yui's hair to reveal her pale nape of her neck. "No.." She whimpered. He opened his mouth and took a bite from his prize. Sucking and gulping sounds was all Yui could hear. Her throat was on fire from the bite Ayato was inflicting. He bit deeper than ever before. "Mm...*lick*...Ngh...Haa.. I'll make your body remember... you belong to me." he continued to suck without a care how Yui felt about it. She couldn't respond back, her mind was swimming from the loss of blood. Yui fell limp against the wall and fainted from having her blood sucked. "Mmm... Haa. Huh? Passed out are you! Hehehe... well since you can't take anymore, I suppose I can leave you here." Ayato dropped her and left her there unconscious.

(End Flashback)

"I was saved after that... who was she?" She asked herself. Her hand is still rubbing her nape. Compared to Ayato's bite, she swore that she felt another pair of lips on her neck. She blushed, shaking her head. "What am I thinking!?"

(4th Ward)

Bang!

Bang!

"Take her down! Take her dow-" an investigator instructed his partner while shooting at his target, but was cut off when a fast shadow slashed his throat. "*gasp*... Guh!...Ah..." he choked, grasping his throat trying to stop the bleeding but to no avail. He got down on his knees, both hands grasping his neck. His gun was all but forgotten. "Adam!" the young investigator screamed, running towards his partner but that was a terrible move on his part. As quick as a flash the shadow ripped his head off clean from his body. Blood gushed like a geyser from the headless body and crumpled to the ground with a thump. The shadow walked slowly to her kneeling victim with the young boy's head in it's hand. Adam gasped and was eye to eye with the murderer. Before him was Mercy but her face was covered by a spiritual fox mask with blue bell ribbons on each ear. Blood smears stained her masked, her eyes blazed with lust and hunger. She dangled the head in front of the old investigator.

"You failed again, CCG investigator. Only this time you won't live to report it. Hehehe~" Mercy laughed mockingly while swinging the head back and forth like a picnic basket. "Gah!...Ahhh...*gasp*..." Adam fell to the ground dead, failing his mission to take down... The Rin Kitsune. "I guess that's the end of that." she lifted the head up to her face, examining it like a fine piece of meat. "Hmmm... his eyes are not bad. The look of pain from his baby blue eyes gets me... I'll keep you!" she giggled. She jamed to fingers into the eye sockets. Blood dripped from the violent penetration. She laughed at the sounds of squishing flesh and broken bones. She pulled out the eye perfectly, dropping the head with a thump she slowly lifted her mask. Revealing only her lips she opened her mouth wide and let the eye fall straight into her mouth. "*chop*...*chew*...*crunch*... Mmmm... so delicious." she moaned, placing her fingertips to her lips in bliss. "Yes, the eyes are always a gate to the soul. Which makes the best appetizer in the start of the meal." someone hummed behind her. Mercy froze and slowly lowered her hand. "Really? What is it with people interrupting my meal?" she asked herself whilst her hand clenched into fists. Mercy lifted her leg and went for a high kick but the person disappeared in a flash. "Tch!" Mercy growled. She looked around but could not find the intruder. She figured she has been here long enough and walked away from her two victims. On top of a lamp post stood a lovely woman with long purple hair staring at the retreating fox.

"Hehehe."
