Hello, everyone! Here is the seventh chapter of Haikyuu! Ninjas! Karasuno and Master Saru begin their final showdown with Basara!
Chapter 7 - The Final Showdown!
Hinata, Yachi, Kageyama, Daichi, Sugawara, Asahi, Nishinoya, Tanaka, Ennoshita, Tsukishima, Yamaguchi, Kiyoko and Master Saru took fighting stances as Basara did the same.
A moment of silence before Hinata and Kageyama charged at Basara first, with Tanaka and Nishinoya followed suit as the quartet act as the vanguard.
"We'll attack first!" Hinata hollered.
"Come at me!" Basara hollered.
Hinata attacked first with a Spike Slash, but Basara easily countered by dodging to the right and kicking Hinata aside. Tanaka and Nishinoya followed up with Kageyama shooting from long range with an Elemental Arrow: Ice.
Tanaka and Nishinoya went in separate directions and attacked at the same time. But Basara used his staff in a 180-degree spin with sheer force blasting the two away and destroying the ice-enhanced arrow.
"Too slow." Basara said.
Basara then dodged a surprise attack from Sugawara who thrusted with his staff. The latter quickly backed off when the former attempted to grab him, and successfully did.
Yamaguchi attempted to thrust Basara from behind, but grabbed the spear and pulled Yamaguchi towards him. Basara attempted strike, but Tsukishima quickly came to his best friend's defense and blocked the palm strike with his blade.
"Thanks, Tsukki!" Yamaguchi hollered.
"But you're wide open!" Basara hollered, now attempting to strike by using his tail to grab Tsukishima's leg.
A little shocked at first, but the tall student smirked. "Why do you think I blocked your attack?" Tsukishima thought.
Basara was caught in a strong bear hug by Asahi.
"Take this! Metal Piledriver!" Asahi shouted.
Asahi jumped with Basara in tow, spinning wildly in an attempt to slam him down headfirst. But Basara was quick by elbowing Asahi before kicking him back to earth.
Daichi and Ennoshita quickly followed to catch Basara off-guard with Daichi throwing his shield first. Basara swat it back to Daichi, but Ennoshita managed to receive the shield and threw it back to Daichi. Kiyoko threw her fans at Basara while jumping from behind, managing to catch them in time before opening the fans and slashing Basara's back, making him grunt in pain.
"Not bad. But too predictable!" Basara hollered, using his tail to grab Kiyoko to drag her towards him for a deadly attack.
"Quick Shot!" Kageyama shouted, firing a super fast and strong arrow that shot the tail to injure Basara a bit, managing to let go of Kiyoko as she landed on the floor gracefully.
"Thanks." Kiyoko said.
Kageyama nodded as he fired another Quick Shot that Basara smashed with his staff after landing down.
Hinata and Yachi double team with a flying kick, forcing Basara to dodge by rolling to his right. But that gave Master Saru the chance to kick him square in the face, then unleashed a flurry of speedy kicks to deal more damage before using his staff to smack him away.
Basara regained his ground, but was met with opposition from Nishinoya and Tanaka.
"Rolling Thunder: Nunchuck Style!" Nishinoya shouted, using his ninja version of his rolling receive maneuver to trip Basara on his legs.
"Your's, Ryu!" Nishinoya hollered.
"Got it!" Tanaka hollered, getting ready to attack.
"Savage Stab!" Tanaka shouted, stabbing Basara furiously before slamming him down hard.
Basara coughed a bit of blood but regained his balance and grabbed Tanaka, throwing him at Nishinoya, as the both of them were flung straight into Ennoshita and Daichi.
Sugawara, Tsukishima and Yamaguchi charged together with their longer weapons, attacking in a wave back and forth with each hit or block to keep Basara off-balance. But Basara was quick to counter every blow from the trio and smashed them away.
Kageyama charged forward with both his bow and wakazashi together, fighting in a dual-wielding fashion that Basara is countering quite nicely. He first kicked Sugawara in the stomach and send him into a wall. Then with lightning speed, he threw his staff up and grabbed Kageyama's legs by going low, doing a windmill spin and threw him into another wall.
Kiyoko and Yachi attempted to attack with speed, but Basara predicted their movements and the moment he caught his staff, he began his countermove.
"Whirlwind Strike!" Basara shouted, spinning the staff above his head wildly with a violent air generating a whirlwind that blew away Kiyoko and Yachi, both attempting to brace themselves but were blown away into walls as well.
"Monkey Hammer!" Master Saru shouted, jumping high before descending with both legs stretched together.
Basara dodged and grabbed Master Saru by the tail, slamming him into the ground three times before throwing him to the ceiling hard, allowing gravity to pull him back down to the floor.
Hinata was the last to charge and attacked with fast sword slashes left and right. Basara dodged every last one of them before pulling a surprise of his own.
"Raging Reflection!" Basara shouted, generating energy from his palm before striking Hinata's chest very hard, blasting him backwards.
Hinata managed to hold his ground by slamming his swords down to slow his blasted form. Though, he did breathe heavily from the impact.
"Is that really the best you all have?" Basara asked, in a mocking manner.
The rest of Karasuno and Master Saru started to get back up slowly due to their injuries.
"Dammit. He's even stronger than last time." Tanaka muttered.
"We're barely getting any major openings." Sugawara said.
"Basara and I have fought for so long, but his style is far more unrefined than mine." Master Saru explained.
"He isn't impenetrable though. If we keep attacking in waves, we may find an opening." Tsukishima explained.
"Then we need to fan out with hit-and-run in teams of two. One for offense, one for defense." Daichi explained.
"What about Master Saru?" Yachi asked.
"I'll join one group for the finishing blow." Master Saru replied.
"Let's do it!" Hinata hollered.

"Done concocting your little scheme?" Basara asked, finally impatient.
Karasuno began to move out in waves of two.
The first wave was of Daichi and Asahi, the latter attacking with Metal Fist that Basara easily blocked with his right arm and attempted to attack. But Daichi used his shield to defend, then used a smoke bomb to make himself and Asahi disappear.
Coming from above were Sugawara and Tsukishima, slamming their long weapons downward on Basara with Sugawara attacking with Staff Rush once he hit the ground first. Basara attempted to attack, but Tsukishima was quick to defend.
"Wheel Blade!" Tsukishima shouted, spinning his dual-bladed weapon like a wheel, defending against the punch while lacerating it in the process.
Basara didn't flinch, but Tsukishima and Sugawara quickly backed off. That gave the next team of Tanaka and Ennoshita the chance to strike next.
Tanaka furiously attacked with his sais through jabs that Basara easily defended against. Ennoshita managed to get behind and slammed both top ends of his tonfas at the back of Basara's neck, staggering him before the two quickly fled.
The next team up was Yamaguchi and Nishinoya. Yamaguchi spun his spear and repeatedly thrusted Basara while he was still feeing the hit from Ennoshita behind, annoying him greatly.
"You brats are getting on my nerves!" Basara hollered.
Nishinoya quickly jumped over Basara with a jump flip roll and slammed his nunchucks in Basara's face hard before he and Yamaguchi used smoke bombs to disappear as well.
"Elemental Arrow: Earth!" Kageyama shouted, shooting an arrow with the earth element that shot at the ground, creating a large wall of stone to block Basara from attacking his peers once the smoke vanished.
Kiyoko quickly parkour the rocky terrain and attacked with a diving attack, slashing her fans at Basara in a cross. Kageyama quickly followed throwing his arrow upward with an extended reach, then doing a parkour similar to the third-year in movement as he jumped over the rocks.
Kiyoko quickly moved out of the way as Kageyama was ready to attack.
"Minus Tempo Quick Shot!" Kageyama shouted, unleashing his strongest move and piercing Basara head on.
"Last group - finish it!" Kageyama hollered.
Upon that command, the last team of Hinata, Yachi and Master Saru took charge and dashed with haste.
"I'll give you guys cover!" Yachi hollered.
"Understood!" Master Saru hollered.
"Give him hell, Hitoka!" Hinata hollered.
Blushing and smiled, Yachi threw several smoke bombs from all five fingers at Basara to obscure his vision.
"That trick won't work twice!" Basara hollered, spinning his staff above his head to create another whirlwind to blow away the smoke.
Suddenly, a strong line wrapped around Basara's arms to prevent movement, courtesy of Yachi.
"What?!" Basara exclaimed.
The smoke dispersed with Hinata and Master Saru closing in to Basara's shock with Hinata attacking from the air and Master Saru on the ground.
"This is the final blow!" Hinata and Master Saru hollered in unison.
"Minus Tempo Dragon Fang!" Hinata shouted.
"Sage Impact!" Master Saru shouted.
The decoy and monkey master combined their strongest moves to overpower Basara, resulting in a massive explosion that Hinata and Master Saru were blown back but managed to regain their footing as the others joined beside them.
"Nice teamwork, gang." Daichi commented.
"That was the best strategy we've come up with since coming here." Tsukishima commented, showing a smile.
"Tsukki's on point when he said it like that." Yamaguchi commented, praising his best friend feeling happy.
"Shut up, Yamaguchi." Tsukishima said.
"Sorry, Tsukki." Yamaguchi said.
"Regardless, I'd say we managed to take him down." Sugawara said.
"Did you really?" Basara asked.
Everyone became shocked upon hearing his voice and turned to the smoke that's clearing the way for none other than Basara, while moderately injured, is far from finished. Screaming loudly, he became enveloped in a massive aura as shockwaves emitted, forcing Karasuno and Master Saru to brace themselves.
"He still standing after all that?!" Kageyama exclaimed.
"Dammit! What's it gonna take to bring this bastard down?!" Tanaka asked, in an angry manner.
"We have to keep fighting!" Hinata hollered.
"The only thing you brats will keep doing… IS DYING!" Basara shouted.
"Super Power Wave!" Basara shouted, unleashing his strongest move.
The teens and Master Saru quickly moved out of the way as the blast attack shot a massive hole through enough to leave outside.
"Holy crap that was WAY too close!" Nishinoya hollered.
"I'm not done yet!" Basara hollered.
With now increased speed and power, he attacked each of Karasuno along with Master Saru with hits they couldn't react in time, heavily hurting them.
"What an absolute disappointment. Like your counterparts, you all choose to fight instead of flee." Basara explained.
"If you surrender the old man and admit defeat, I'll consider bring you all home and forget this ever happened." Basara continued.
"Refuse, and I will not only kill you all and conquer this world, but worlds beyond. Including… yours." Basara finished.
Everyone became shocked Basara would dare to say such an offer and have no way to think of what's the best course for a solution.
But one became defiant against all odds. That "one" is Hinata, struggling to get up.
"Here's my suggestion…" Hinata said.
"We are going home… but we're not going home until we defeat you!" Hinata hollered.
"What makes you think you can defeat me alone?" Basara asked.
"Dumbass isn't alone." Kageyama said, starting to get up next.
"He's got his friends. Those who trust each other with a common goal." Kageyama continued.
"Unlike you, I trust my best friend!" Kageyama hollered.
Yachi, Yamaguchi, Daichi, Sugawara, Asahi, Nishinoya, Tanaka, Ennoshita, and even Tsukishima and Hinata were shocked by Kageyama declaring Hinata as his best friend.
Master Saru was especially surprised upon remembering the old times he and Basara were once the closest of friends before everything went downhill.
But the only one wasn't surprised was Kiyoko, who genuinely smiled at seeing how much he's grown in socialization and being part of the team in more than just volleyball.
"You really are amazing… Tobio." Kiyoko thought, using Kageyama's first name instead of his surname due to their confession.
"Friends are nothing but a hinderance! Power is the only thing that matters!" Basara hollered, refusing to hear Kageyama's words.
"You're wrong. Friends aren't a hinderance…" Tsukishima said, now being the next to get up.
"They're a source of true strength!" Tsukishima hollered, now shocking his peers once again to his change in behavior.
But Yamaguchi always knew Tsukishima thinks of others first in a time of crisis when volleyball isn't involved. A motivation the pinch server knew since being kids.
"Tsukki's right. Having friends isn't a weakness! It's what makes us humans with righteous hearts the power to win!" Yamaguchi hollered, now being the fourth to get up.
Tanaka and Nishinoya chuckled.
"Looks like our kohai are showing us up, Noya-san." Tanaka explained.
"We still gotta show'em the strength of the senpai!" Tanaka hollered, now being the fifth to get up.
"You said it, Ryu…" Nishinoya said, being the sixth to stand up.
"We senpai can't let those younger than us shoulder the burden alone! We have to help them carry it all the way!" Nishinoya hollered.
"I've came so close to running away from the game I forgot that it's not just the enjoyment of playing the game. But sharing it with others." Ennoshita explained, now being the seventh to stand on his feet.
"I too… came close to leaving the game behind. But I had friends who still believed in me. So as the ace, I have to fight for the team!" Asahi hollered, now the eighth to stand up.
"Count me in on that too! Nothing's gonna stop us crows when we work together as one!" Sugawara hollered, being the ninth to get up.
"No matter the situation in either volleyball or on the battlefield, Karasuno is a murder of crows who will take on anyone, no matter the cost!" Daichi hollered, now the tenth to stand tall.
"I'm glad to be part of this team. And I'm fighting for people who love and trust me. So I won't let them all down!" Kiyoko hollered, being the eleventh to stand up.
Tanaka and Nishinoya were lovestruck while Kageyama and Yachi were at awe.
Yachi was soon the twelfth and last of Karasuno to get up with a determined look.
"There are so many things I wanna learn in life. But the more I learn, the more I understand and value." Yachi explained.
"And what I value most are my mother, the club, and especially my friends." Yachi continued.
"Sawamura-san. Sugawara-san. Azumane-san. Tanaka-san. Nishinoya-san. Ennoshita-san. Tsukishima-sun. Yamaguchi-kun. Kageyama-kun. Master Saru. Shimizu-senpai. And Shoyo." Yachi continued.
"I'll keeping fighting with everything I've got! For the people I love!" Yachi hollered.
The rest of Karasuno smiled at Yachi's determination.
Master Saru soon stood up as well.
"Do you understand now, Basara? This is what true strength is!" Master Saru hollered.
Basara's anger reached a tipping point with not listening to Karasuno's so-called "friendship".
"Is that's what you all want… then YOU CAN ALL DIE TOGETHER!" Basara shouted.
"Let's finish this!" Daichi hollered.
"Yeah!" Hinata, Yachi, Kageyama, Tsukishima, Yamaguchi, Nishinoya, Tanaka, Ennoshita, Sugawara, Asahi, Kiyoko and Master Saru hollered in unison.
With renewed spirits, the 12 Karasuno crows and Master Saru charged vigorously and all the strength they have left as Basara followed suit.
It became an intense melee battle and the ones now with the advantage were Hinata and the others, overpowering Basara with the combination of ninjutsu and volleyball into one.
"This shouldn't be possible?! How are they besting me?!" Basara thought, feeling overwhelmed.
"Keep the pressure on, Karasuno!" Daichi hollered.
"Yeah!" Yachi, Tsukishima, Yamaguchi, Tanaka, Nishinoya, Ennoshita, Kiyoko, Sugawara and Asahi hollered in unison.
For some reason, Master Saru held back at Hinata and Kageyama for a bit to save their energy. The Odd Combo Duo quickly understood what he meant and prepared themselves for most likely the finishing attack.
"Come on! I'll crush you all!" Basara hollered.
Daichi, Sugawara, Asahi, Kiyoko, Nishinoya, Tanaka, Ennoshita, Tsukishima, Yamaguchi and Yachi began their move.
"Charging Crow!" Daichi shouted.
"Blade Staff!" Sugawara shouted.
Daichi first attacked by charging forward, bashing into Basara hard while Sugawara used the extended blade of his staff in a whirling motion to stab his back.
Basara grew irritated and smacked the two away.
"Straight Sai Spike!" Tanaka shouted.
"Jump Fist!" Asahi shouted.
Tanaka and Asahi struck Basara in a straightforward, double team attack that forced Basara to blast the two away with Raging Reflection.
"Swift Strike!" Ennoshita shouted, appearing from behind and furiously attacked Basara from the back.
"Why you-!" Basara hollered, only to get interrupted by Nishinoya who showed up in the front.
"Radical Smackdown!" Nishinoya shouted.
Nishinoya repeatedly attacked Basara with his nunchucks non-stop.
"You damn brats!" Basara hollered, grabbing Ennoshita from behind and throwing him at Nishinoya, knocking the two backwards.
Basara quickly noticed Yamaguchi's spear thrown at him and grabbed it with his tail.
"Predictable. What sort of childish move is this?" Basara asked, only to get exploded in the face.
"That was just my Jump Float Javelin!" Yamaguchi hollered, as he recovered his spear from the impact.
"Moon Boomerang!" Tsukishima shouted, throwing his weapon and attacking Basara from multiple directions like a wild boomerang in the exploding smoke before retrieving his weapon.
Basara quickly recovered and smashed his staff downward hard, releasing a powerful shockwave that blasted the Shield and Spear Combo away.
Kiyoko and Yachi began their move to keep the pressure on.
"Let's do it, Hitoka-chan!" Kiyoko hollered.
"Yes, Shimizu-senpai!" Yachi hollered.
"Combo Move: Coalesce!" Yachi and Kiyoko hollered in unison, combining Yachi's Fire Rain with Kiyoko's Fan Tornado to create a burning cyclone that damaged Basara even greatly.
"ENOUGH!" Basara shouted, unleashing a powerful aura burst that blasted not only the fiery whirlwind away, but blasted Kiyoko and Yachi back hard.
Master Saru moved at unparalleled speeds and struck Basara with a deadly palm thrust attack in the chest, causing the larger monkey to cough a bit of blood.
Basara wasn't fazed and smashed Master Saru to the ground hard.
"It doesn't matter how many of you pathetic worms team up! None of you can stop me!" Basara hollered, preparing to kill Master Saru for good.
"But there are two more you haven't accounted for." Master Saru explained.
Basara quickly realized with widened eyes that there are two more of Karasuno missing from the combined assault, and looked up to see Hinata jumping high in a spike motion with swords in hand.
"Now, Kageyama!" Hinata hollered.
Kageyama followed by sliding on the hard floor with his knees and preparing to shoot an arrow upward to Hinata's exact spiking point.
The rest of the downed Karasuno looked up and cheered for their "Dynamic Duo".
"You got this, guys!" Daichi hollered.
"End this!" Sugawara hollered.
"Take him down!" Asahi hollered.
"Kick his ass!" Tanaka and Nishinoya hollered in unison.
"Don't mess this up!" Tsukishima hollered.
"Do it with one shot!" Yamaguchi and Ennoshita hollered in unison.
"Hold nothing back!" Master Saru hollered, aiding in the cheering.
"GO~! SHOYO/TOBIO~!" Yachi and Kiyoko shouted in unison, cheering the hardest with Yachi cheering for Hinata and Kiyoko cheering for Kageyama.
"With one attack…" Kageyama said, preparing to shoot.
"We'll end this!" Hinata hollered, ready to strike.
Basara couldn't believe what he's seeing and didn't have any time to defend himself or dodge in time.
Kageyama shot the arrow with extreme force and speed like he would for the supernatural quick attack in volleyball, and as it felt like time suddenly froze, Hinata carefully aimed his good eye at the bewildered Basara. Without holding anything back, Hinata slammed his right sword into the feather of the arrow that flew straight at Basara like a faster-than-sound bullet dead-on.
"Combo Move: Minus Tempo Quick Attack - NINJA STYLE!" Hinata and Kageyama shouted in unison.
The attack fully pierced Basara as the intense force blasted him all the way down from the castle to the very earth itself.
With no sign of the dark fighter left, Hinata landed next to Kageyama as the two breathed heavily before smirking with each other, giving a fist bump as the rest of Karasuno joined in.
Daichi, Sugawara, Asahi, Tanaka, Nishinoya, Ennoshita, Yamaguchi, and heck, even Tsukishima joined in a big group hug cheering in victory. But none could be more happier than Yachi and Kiyoko, who started to cry out of joy, jumped in the group hug with Yachi hugging Hinata tight as did Kiyoko hugging Kageyama hard (earning the ire of Tanaka and Nishinoya and the amusement of Tsukishima, Daichi and Sugawara).
Master Saru looked at Karasuno cheering in victory as he exhaled a breath of sheer relief.
"It's finally… over…" Master Saru thought, smiling in victory.
At long last, through thick and thin with the odds against them, Karasuno were victorious against Basara and his Red Dragon goons! Now only one thing left to do…
Next time: Chapter 8 - We're Going Home
One one more chapter left! That was quite the chapter to be done in almost a WHOLE week! It was quite the chapter with Karasuno going beyond their limits and working together to overcome a great evil!
