Chapter 8
Mal watched sadly as Eva and Ry went in with Lilly and then sighed as she turned around to where Layla was. "Honey, did something happen?"
Layla sighed, wiping her eyes. "No, mom. I just…I don't know how to explain it. I love her, but it's like how I love Lilly or Ry and I just felt bad staying 'with' her when I…mom I'm crushing hard on a boy." She looked down. "I'm sorry. I don't want to hurt anyone, but is it fair to stay with someone when you just don't know that it's real?"
Mal sat by her daughter and took her hands. "No, it's not fair and you are doing the right thing for everyone. Honey, you're young and I get you're still finding yourself. I just hate seeing anyone hurting, much less my daughter and goddaughter."
Layla swallowed the lump in her throat. "Are you going to send me away? Back to the children's home?"
Mal's heart broke. "Baby girl, why would you think that? You're my baby, our baby." She lifted her chin. "Honey, has that really been a fear of yours?"
"One of them." Layla admitted, her eyes filling with tears. "I've been so scared that you wouldn't want me anymore or that everyone will hate me and want me gone. I'm terrified that Regina and Emma and Henry, Lilly, Zelena, they'll all just hate me so much, that Snow and David and everyone will never want to see me again. I know I'm adopted, and I know everyone says we're just as much family as anyone else, but really, I'm not and it scares me."
Lacey had come in and looked at Mal questioningly as Maleficent pulled her baby girl into a big hug. "Oh baby, I wish you would have come to us about this. I understand your fear but baby, it's unfounded. To be honest, Regina, Emma, Mom and I have had this conversation. Not that we ever wanted you two to break up, but realistically, we knew it could happen and I assure you, baby girl, that no one is going to hate you. No one will want you gone and no one, my love, will even try to tell us to send you back. Even if they did, which they won't, we never would."
Lacey, now figuring things out came in and hugged her daughter from behind. "Mama is right, honey. You are ours no matter what. Even if, from what I'm getting, you initiated this break up, it doesn't make you a bad person, baby girl. Of course, we're going to want to be sure Eva is okay and I know Regina and Emma will want to make sure you're okay, but honey, no one is going to hate you. I'm willing to bet that even Eva isn't going to hate you."
Layla wiped her eyes again and grabbed a tissue. "I really do care about her and I'm going to miss being her friend, I just didn't feel it. I haven't for a while but had no idea what to do."
Lacey rubbed her back. "Honey, I'm willing to bet that after she feels a bit better, you two will be friends."
"If she doesn't want to be, I won't blame her. I just don't want to make things like family grill out nights with the family and stuff be awkward. Like…tomorrow night, David was planning a barbeque. I don't think I should go. They're her family and…"
"They're your family too." Maleficent stated. "But if you don't feel like going, I do understand this time. Take some time, but the longer you hide away, the harder it will be later."
Layla nodded. "I just want her to have a good time and if I'm there, I may ruin that." She blew her nose and then looked at Mal. "Can…can you maybe call her later and make sure she's okay? I feel horrible."
Mal stroked Layla's face. "I will, baby girl. Now, how about you and Mama go do your girlie things and I'll take care of Owen."
"Yes, let's go turn on the music, give each other facials and just have a girls night like we used to."
Later that night, after Maleficent put Owen to sleep, she sent Eva a text and then talked to Lacey before poofing herself to the special spot in the woods that she and the twins spent a lot of time when she would teach them magic. She started a fire and smiled softly when Eva's light blue cloud of magic appeared. "Thank you for coming."
Eva smiled lightly and sat down next to the woman. "I told Lilly that you wanted to talk to me, so she didn't worry."
Mal wrapped her arms around Eva. "I'd ask you how you are, but I can feel your hurt, baby girl. I know I'm her mother, but honey, please know that you can talk to me."
"I'm just confused, Mal." Eva said, her eyes filling. "I tried so hard to be a good girlfriend. Maybe joining football wasn't such a good idea. Maybe it took time away from being with her. Or…maybe I just wasn't good enough."
"Oh baby girl no, it wasn't any of that. Didn't she tell you?"
"She said she just didn't love me like that anymore, but I don't get why. She said I didn't do anything, but if that's true, how did she suddenly just stop loving me?"
Mal stroked Eva's cheeks, wiping her tears. "It was nothing you did, baby girl. You were an amazing girlfriend and are such a good person. Honey, she just…she's not sure who she is right now other than a sixteen-year-old girl who still cares about you very much. She just isn't sure she loves you the way you deserve to be loved one day and knows it's not fair to keep pretending. She loves you like a friend and cares so much about you, I promise you that."
"Why didn't she tell me before then? I understand that she wants to figure things out and she has every right to do that, but if she'd have just talked to me, I think it wouldn't hurt so bad."
"She was scared to, honey. She's scared of everyone's reaction."
Eva looked at her, feeling terrible for Layla. "I need to talk to her. Oh gods, why didn't I think of that. Of course, she's scared. She's probably terrified that everyone is going to hate her. Mal, the won't. I wouldn't let them if they even wanted to." She ran her fingers through her hair. "You told her that no one was going to be upset, right?"
"I did honey, but it's going to just take time for her to believe it. Maybe you telling her would help, but right now I want to make sure you're okay. I feel terrible that your moms are gone and you're going through this."
Eva just shrugged a little. "I mean, I do wish they were here, but…I really wish Gramma was here. I've really been missing her lately, you know? She would have loved to watch me play and she'd know how to comfort me now. I just really miss her."
Mal rubbed Eva's back softly. "Honey, I don't know what happens to us when we die, but I believe without a doubt that she watched you and was there with you. Sweet pea, what can I do to make this better?"
"There's nothing more you can do, Mal. You've been here for me and explained things to me. I'll be okay, I promise. It may take a bit, but I still want to be Layla's friend. I mean, she's been my best friend for years."
"She feels the same way, sweetie."
"She does? Is…is she still awake? I didn't want to text her in case she didn't want to talk to me."
"Text her, honey. I'm sure she's still up."
Eva sent Layla a text and then looked at Mal. "Thank you for this talk. It honestly has made me feel better."
"It's no problem, sweetheart."
Eva's phone pinged and she smiled. "She wants to talk."
"Great!" Mal said, using her magic to make Layla appear.
"What…Mom! I…what if I was changing or something?" Layla asked.
"You weren't though. You two talk and Eva can send me a signal when you're done." With that, Mal disappeared.
"Hi." Layla said quietly, moving closer to the fire.
"Hey." Eva said, clasping her hands in front of her. "So, I just…I wanted to tell you that I understand. I mean, I wish you'd have talked to me sooner, but I get it, and I don't want any hard feelings between us. You're my best friend and I want to try and keep it that way. I mean…if you do."
"Oh, Eva, I so do. I don't want to lose your friendship at all."
"Good. Also, please don't worry about people getting mad at you. Layla, you're one of us no matter what. Besides, we can just say we both agreed to this. I mean, honestly, I do agree with you. I hurt at first, but I get it now and you're right. We need to figure out what we both want."
Layla smiled and wiped her tears. "Thank you, Eva. This means so much."
They hugged and Eva chuckled a bit. "Just…I know you said you had a crush on someone and that's okay, but maybe warn me before you bring them home, so I know? I know it's not fair to ask but…just for a little while."
Layla chuckled. "I promise I'm not going to start dating anyone but if I do, I'll tell you first."

Emma and Regina made it to their private Hawaiian island right before sunset. They were given a tour and grabbed drinks before going to the balcony outside their room. "I can't believe it's just us and the staff here." Emma stated.
"I know; it's pretty cool." Regina said, putting her drink down and wrapping her arms around Emma.
They watched the sunset and Emma turned in Regina's arms, kissing her. "So, are you going to tell me what's on your mind?"
Regina rose a brow. "How did you know?"
Emma chuckled and kissed Regina's cheek. "I've been married to you long enough to know you." She said, taking her drink. "So, what is it?"
Regina took a breath and then went to get her drink. She sat on the sofa and gestured for Emma to do the same. "I'll tell you, but I need you to promise not to freak out."
"Okay, now I'm freaking out." Emma said, sitting down.
"Stop it." Regina took Emma's hands. "You know I had a few doctor appointments lately. Dr. Nolan called me in just before we left for the game and I got my results."
"Regina, please do not tell me you're pregnant. I swear, I don't think we can do that again and we've been so careful."
Regina chuckled. "I'm not pregnant, Emma." She kissed Emma's hand. "I have…Emma, I have symptoms of the same heart condition my mother had."
Emma sat in shock and shook her head. "No…Regina please tell me you're kidding and that you're actually pregnant."
"I'm sorry, Emma, but I'm not. However, the good news is we found it early. So early that I can start on medication and make some changes and I'll be just fine. I mean think about it, mom still had a good ten years after she found out and we're finding about it early on."
Emma moved closer and wrapped her arms around her wife. "Regina I cannot lose you."
"You're not losing me, Emma, not yet and not any time soon. All I need to do is take the medicine every day, cut back on carbs, and work out a bit."
"Yeah? Really? Because baby, if that's what it takes, we can do it. I used to be able to run a mile a hell of a lot faster than I can now. We can work out together and make it fun. But please swear to me that you're telling me the truth."
"I am and I have an appointment set up for when we get back so you can come with and hear it for yourself from Dr. Nolan." She pulled Emma onto her lap and ran her hands up her wife's thighs. "And I like the idea of us working out together. You know, I haven't had my little Pillow Princess in such a long time. Can we please get on with our vacation now?"
"Yes. Just…promise me that if…"
"Emma, if I feel any strain, I'll tell you. I had Dr. Nolan actually write a note telling you that it's totally okay for us to have sex."
"Shut up, did you really?"
"I did! Come on, Emma, she was there for seven out of eight of our kids being born; I think she knows we have sex." Regina reached over and pulled the note out of her purse. "Here."
Emma took it and blushed. "Regina Swan-Mills! Are you kidding me?" She cleared her throat. "Mrs. Emma Swan-Mills, I was asked to write you this letter to assure you that your wife is well enough to participate in sexual activities. Rest assured, she is more than capable of everything you have grown accustom to. It would be good for her to have some cardiovascular activities, so really, you're helping her. Have fun, Mrs. Swan-Mills, and be confident in knowing your wife will be fine. Dr. Kathryn Nolan" She looked at Regina, putting the note down. "She really wrote that?"
Regina chucked. "She did. I asked her to but had no idea she'd write that." Regina cupped Emma's cheeks and pulled her into a deep kiss. "Now, go pick out three things from our toy suitcase." She said, smacking Emma's ass. "And for the love of god, get naked! No more clothes tonight."
Emma squeaked and got up, taking her clothes off as she headed to the bedroom. She chewed on her lip as she looked through everything. The only downside of being here was not having magic meaning they couldn't do their little trick to make the strap on a real thing, so she wanted to make sure whatever she picked would also give Regina pleasure. She laid the objects on the bed and went to use the bathroom to brush her teeth and freshen up.
Regina sauntered in and smirked as she looked at what was on the bed. "Hmm, rope, strap on and the very powerful vibrator. Seems my little slut wants to be tied up and fucked senseless, but also knows the vibrator cuts through the strap on and gives me pleasure." She turned to face Emma who was standing in the bathroom doorway. "What a good girl you are. Just for that, I'm going to add one that I know you just love." Regina said, going to Emma and kissing her. "Get on the bed face up, arms out."
"Yes, your majesty." Emma said, getting on the bed just as she was asked.
Regina looked at Emma and though they'd been married for years, Emma carrying five of their eight kids, both of them older, when she looked at her, she could still see the young woman she first fell in love with. "You're so beautiful." She said softly, tickling her feet.
"Regina!" Emma giggled and lifted her head. "What are you doing? You've never done that before."
"Sorry, I was just thinking about how you're still as beautiful as the day I met you." Regina said and smiled softly. "Emma I know I…"
Emma smiled and opened her arms. "Come here, baby. Let's make love. We have all week to do whatever else we want."
Emma awoke the next morning and smiled when she saw Regina was still asleep. Without getting dressed, she called for room service and ordered them breakfast. After slipping on a robe, she went to the balcony and checked her cell phone. She saw a message from Eva and figured the time difference before calling her. "Bumble bee? Are you okay?"
Eva sighed, having just got up. "I'm better today, Ma." She told Emma of her conversation with Layla. "It makes sense, but it still hurts."
"Of course it does, baby girl. Aww, I feel terrible that it's your first break up and mom and I aren't there."
"It's fine, Ma. Are you guys having fun?"
"We got in late last night, so we haven't had much time here. It's beautiful though – warm and sunny. I think we're going to lay out on the beach later today. Baby girl, our phones will be on should you need to talk to us."
"You guys just have fun. I promise, I'm okay. We're all okay."
Emma smiled. "I'll have mom call when she wakes up, okay?"
"Okay Ma, but seriously, enjoy your time."
Regina got up just before breakfast came and the two enjoyed it on the balcony. Afterwards, they showered and dressed, both deciding since it was just them to wear bikini tops and shorts as they made their way down to the spa area. They were treated to massages along with fruit and champagne. Afterwards, they lounged on the beach, calling the kids, and talking to all of them. They even made a special call to Layla to assure her they weren't angry, nor did they dream of her leaving.
That night, Regina did tie Emma to the bed, blindfolding her and putting her favorite ball gag on her. "Okay, my Pillow Princess, are you ready for a good fucking?"
"Mffmmm." Emma said, causing Regina to grin.
"I'll take that as a yes." Regina said, thrusting inside her wife. She missed being able to use magic, but as soon as she turned the vibrator on, she moaned, feeling her own pleasure. "Oh baby, I see your legs trembling already. Not yet."
Emma groaned and felt the pleasure coursing through her. She didn't know if she'd be able to hold it, but she knew she'd try. Regina continued to thrust, pushing deep inside her wife, and holding it as her own orgasm hit her. She heard Emma moan and watched her back arch as her wife also came from the pleasure. "Tisk, tisk, tisk. I didn't tell you to cum." Regina pulled out and turned the wand on high, pressing it hard against Emma's clit. "That slip up will cost you…hmmm…five more orgasms." She said with a smirk. "But you don't have to wait for permission."
Emma's body reacted and it wasn't long before she was having another orgasm. Regina pressed harder and kissed at Emma's thighs. "Four more, baby." However, after two more, Regina saw Emma shaking her head, so she stopped the vibrator, reached up and took the gag off. "Baby? Are you okay?" Emma had rarely ever given the safe word or the sign.
Emma was panting and finally got her voice. "I just can't…fuck Regina, I'm old now."
Regina couldn't stop her chuckle. "Why do you think I like being on this end? I get my one, maybe two good orgasms and then I focus on you." She sighed and untied Emma's wrists. "Maybe…baby, maybe we just don't spend as much time doing this and we do more of what we did last night."
Emma pulled Regina to her. "I'd love that. I'd also love if you'd undo my ankles. My leg is cramping."
"Oh my poor baby." Regina said, trying not to laugh. She untied Emma's legs and started massaging her cramp. "When did we become so old?"
Emma once again pulled her wife to her. "Somewhere between Henry having his own child and our twins turning sixteen. All too soon it'll be the Quads turning sixteen."
"Emma, I both hate and love that idea. I can't wait to see them grown up, but I am not ready for it either."
"I know. I completely agree."
The two spent the rest of the week lounging and simply enjoying time with each other. They felt refreshed as they packed up and headed home. Once there, they were pleased to find the family outside grilling.
"Mama! Mommy!" Lottie yelled and started running to them, closely followed by the other three little ones.
Emma dropped the bags and knelt down, picking up Lottie and Addie while Regina hugged Chris and Gabby. Emma swung the kids around before putting them down and picking up Oliver. The twins came next, followed by Henry, Lilly, and Henry Jr. The rest of the family and friends joined in and everyone was chatting excitedly. Emma made sure to give Layla an extra hug, reassuring her that they were all good.
"Ma, you actually tanned and didn't burn." Ry pointed out, making Emma laugh.
"I know. I was shocked." Emma laughed.
They all sat and talked and had a great meal together followed by Regina using her magic to gather all the kids things and put them back in their rooms. The two tucked in all their kids, taking time to read to the Quads, talk with Oliver, and have a proper catch up with the twins. Emma used her magic to send the thank you gifts they had gotten her parents and Henry and Lilly for watching the kids and then she and Regina happily went to bed.
