A/N: Here is part one of the final battle in my fanfiction between Lelouch, Schneizel, and Ribbons. The three greatest minds in history locked in a battle to outwit the others. The prize: The very fate of the world in their hands!
Now many of you have been requesting that I have the battle in space, and I will do that, but I need some help. How am I gonna get them into space? How many should I send? Who should be in space? I have an idea how Lelouch will get to space, and maybe Ribbons too. Also, how are they going to get back down, cause I plan for the battle to end on Earth, despite the end of it being mostly in space?
Also, I have an idea of doing a crossover between Ben 10 and A Certain Magical Index franchise. I have a summary of it in my profile page. I love Ben 10, it was my childhood TV show, and I've been getting into the "A Certain" anime franchise. The only problem I have with writing Ben 10 fanfictions is I never know what aliens to use in certain situations and how to use them most effectively. Also, Touma is a complex character that I don't know if I can do a good job of writing.
So feel free to shoot me some ideas for both situations.
Just so you know, in this chapter, like the others that involved big battles, I tend to focus on Gundam combat than I do on Knightmare combat. So I usually put more work into the Gundam side of the fighting than others. Just letting you all know in advance.
So without further ado, let's begin.
Final note, I do not own Code Geass and Gundam 00. Both are works of Sunrise.
"We should be at Mt. Fuji within the hour," Lasse reported from his pilot chair.
"All forces, both Peace Mark and our own, are preparing their Knightmares for combat," Nina announced.
"Excellent," Lelouch said as he rose from the chair in the center of the bridge. "I'm heading down to the 00. Lasse, take command of the bridge! Ian, you get down to the hangars and make sure all our Gundams and GN-Knightmares are in top condition for launch. The rest of you, prepare for battle!"
"You got it, boss!" Came the reply of everyone on the bridge. Lelouch nodded then turned away into the hallway and made his way down the hallway where the 00 was waiting for him. He turned a corner and stopped.
There, blocking his path to the 00, was Nunnally, sitting in her large wheelchair, an unreadable expression on her face as she refused to meet his eyes. In her hands was a yellow desert flower housed in a glass container. Lelouch refused to look at her as well.
The tension in the hallway was awkward as the once closest brother-sister duo refused to even look or speak to the other. Though you couldn't exactly blame them, a lot has happened and a lot of lies were told between them.
Finally, Nunnally decided to take the initiative. "I wanted to give you this," She said as she gestured to the flower in her hands. "Linda, Mr. Ian's wife, gave it to me after she grew it. I thought maybe I could give it to you Lelouch. As a good luck charm of sorts." She explained, smiling awkwardly as she held out the flower for Lelouch to take.
Lelouch looked at her in surprise before he walked up to her and took the flower. He examined the plant for a long moment before speaking, an awkward smile on his face. "Oh wow. Thanks, Nunnally. I'll take good care of it." He said honestly. Nunnally smiled at that statement before she looked away from him again, Lelouch's smile also dropped as he avoided looking at his sister.
The two stood in silence for a long moment before the older of the vi Britannia siblings decided he couldn't waste any more time. So, after placing the flower within his helmet, he began walking away from his disabled sister, stepping around her wheelchair to make it to the 00. As he came parallel to her, she spoke up again as she gripped his hand.
"I hate this." She said, stopping him in his tracks. Lelouch seemed surprised for a brief moment. In all the time since they've been reunited after saving her from Ribbons, she never talked about her feelings or what she felt about anything regarding his actions. But since Lelouch was about to enter his most dangerous battle yet, she probably wanted to let him know what it was she was feeling.
But she remained silent, not saying what it was she hated, or who. So Lelouch decided it was his turn to speak up. "What do you hate?" He asked, looking at her.
Nunnally's dam broke as the flood of tears spilled down her cheeks. "I hate that our family has to fight and kill the other! I hate that you and Suzaku almost killed each other! I hate that all this fighting brings only more fighting and suffering with it! I hate that you're the one who keeps having to fight and suffer over and over again! And most of all," Nunnally took a brief second to compose herself before she shouted, "I HATE THAT I'M SO POWERLESS TO DO ANYTHING TO STOP IT!"
Nunnally just let the tears keep streaming down her face as she unloaded all that was bothering her. Lelouch merely looked at his beloved younger sister with pity. He suspected deep down that she always felt useless about being able to do anything to change the world. But she was wrong.
"I hate it too." Lelouch said as he looked away from her. Nunnally stopped crying for a moment as she looked up at her older brother. "I hate that we just keep killing each other for a stupid throne and title that's filled with blood and carnage. I hate that I pushed Suzaku to the point where he wants me dead. And I also hate that I'm the one who keeps having to lose people important to me as I continually fight against those who stand in my way."
Nunnally looked back down in sadness as she heard the struggles and pain her brother was going through.
"But despite that, I have to keep moving forward." Lelouch continued, causing Nunnally to look back up at him. "If I stop because of things like those, then all those sacrifices I've made would have been for nothing. I would have killed my beloved sister, lost my best friend, had someone dear taken from me, and been betrayed for no purpose. I have to make sure those sacrifices don't become a waste. And also…"
Lelouch trailed off as he then looked to the floor of the warship. "I need to know. Why do I exist?" Nunnally gasped at his question. "Why am I of all people still alive? So many people have died since I began this crusade, most by my hand. So how come only the people around me suffer while I still live. I just can't believe it's luck, or that I deserve to live because I don't. So there has to be a reason. A reason for my existence.
"I once believed that reason was taking care of you Nunnally." He said as he finally looked at his sister in her now open eyes, and gave her a warm smile. "But looking at you now, I see you don't need me anymore. You've grown up, and I'm so proud of you, and the amazing woman you will no doubt become someday." He then turned his whole body to face her. "That is something I truly believe, despite all the deceptions and lies I've told and faced."
His smile then vanished as he had a contemplative frown on his face. "But then where does that leave me?" He asked no one in particular. "Now that I've lost my initial reason for existing, what purpose is there for someone like me to keep living? I need to find a reason, and it has to be for myself. I can't just live for someone else anymore. There's nothing wrong with that, but I need to find my own reason for living regardless of whether others want me around. I need to live, not only for others but for myself as well.
"And the only way I know how to find the answer is through the fighting with the Gundams." Lelouch declared. "I don't know how long it will take, and I don't know if fighting's the right path, but it's all I know how to do, and it's the best path for me to take until I can find an answer or a better path. So I'll fight." He said as a determined look formed in his eyes. "I'll fight to live for tomorrow. And I'll keep fighting to protect the future that humanity needs to survive."
The two siblings were silent for another long moment before Lelouch took a deep breath and turned to continue his way down the hall. But before he completed his rotation, Nunnally gripped his free hand. He stopped and looked as Nunnally tearfully brought that hand toward her cheek, holding it in both her hands.
"Then just come back." Nunnally choked out through tears as she continued to hold the hand close to her face. "Just please don't die out there. Just keep on living until you can find a reason. Please."
Lelouch gave a determined nod. "I will."
The two stayed there for a long time before Lelouch wiggled his hand free from her grasp and made his way down the hall, refusing to look back as he marched toward his destiny.
"The reinforcements have arrived, Your Majesty," Kanon reported. "The Glinda Knights and the Knights of the Round have also arrived and are taking command of the divisions. The Black Knights, or what's left of them, are here as well."
"Excellent Kanon," Schneizel said as he looked at the tactical display. "While Lelouch does have an impressive and formidable force at his disposal, he is not a match for the might of Britannia and the Black Knights, especially with Damocles at the head. It may take some time, but eventually, he will fall." Schneizel said with a wicked smirk on his lips. "And then, Ribbons Almark will follow him. Then the Black Knights, then the UFN, then the E.U. and anyone who dare opposes peace on this world."
"How are we looking?" Ohgi asked the head engineer through the video communication on the bridge.
"Well, we're barely keeping it together as is," Rakshata reported from the monitor. "The damage the Earl of Puddings creation did to us isn't fully repaired yet. We're only running on about 40 percent of our normal power levels. It was a miracle we were able to keep this thing afloat. And we only have about half of our Knightmares functional, even less combat-ready."
"We'll just have to make do with what we have. Standby for battle." He finished as he signed off, letting out a sigh as he did.
'What am I doing?' Ohgi thought to himself. 'Why am I just going along with this? Is it the promise of Japan? The death of Lelouch? The opportunity to get Kallen back? Just why do I keep doing things like this?'
Despite the flurry of questions he had for himself, he knew one thing. He had to make a decision. He had to decide once and for all where he stood in the matters of the world. Whether he was on the side of Lelouch, or the side of Schneizel?
"Is everything ready?" Ribbons asked.
"Yes. Mementos Mori is in position and ready to fire." Regene reported. "Should we do so now?" She asked.
Ribbons shook his head. "No." He answered. "I want to see who's better between those two pawns. So we'll wait for the right time to show our hand. Besides, the Reborns still need the finishing touches before its battle-ready."
As the Ptolemy loomed closer to the Damocles, the ship was in a buzz of activity. Mechanics were rushing to complete repairs and maintenance, doing hasty yet careful final checks on the machines.
The pilots themselves also felt slightly anxious, except for Lelouch, who seemed to be strangely calm about the upcoming battle. The talk with Nunnally had done wonders to relieve any amount of anxiety or stress he was feeling, even if it was slightly awkward. He placed the flower she gifted him in a bag on the floor of the cockpit, out of the way of any import controls he would have to access. As he went through the final check-up for the 00, a request for a private call came through. Once he saw the caller ID, he answered.
"Hey." The caller said as Lelouch was greeted by a mass of fiery red hair and ocean blue eyes, holding concern in them, most likely for him.
"Hey," Lelouch said back as he noticed her look. "What's wrong?"
"I heard about the talk you had with Nunnally," Kallen confessed after a quick moment of silence. "Nina told me the details."
"Ahh." Lelouch said, slightly irritated that his private chat with Nunnally was being shared around the ship.
"You know," Kallen decided to speak up after another moment of silence, "I understand this really won't help right now, but I'm just gonna say it anyway. I'm glad to have met you, and that you're alive. More than you'll ever know."
Lelouch eyed Kallen for a moment before he smiled genuinely toward her. "Thank you, Kallen." Said girl was surprised by the words he said and the genuine tone he held. But she then smiled and nodded her head in acknowledgment.
"Your welcome Lelouch," Kallen said before closing the transmission. After she did, Lelouch opened a private channel to another one of his close friends. It took a few moments before the receiver picked up.
"Hey, Lelouch. What's up?" Rivalz asked, in the process of finishing his preparations.
Lelouch was silent for a long moment, trying to find the most appropriate way to broach the subject he wanted to talk with Rivalz about. Finally, he just decided to be blunt. "Are you really okay with this, Rivalz?" He asked. The blue-haired boy seemed to be confused, causing Lelouch to sigh. "It's not too late to back out you know? If you can't handle this fight or killing anymore, then you can get out and let me pilot the 00 Raiser by myself. There's no shame in wanting out."
Rivalz seemed to think about Lelouch's words for a long moment. He had some doubts about continuing forward in all honesty, not because he didn't believe in the cause of Celestial Beings, but because he was afraid that he wouldn't be the same at the end of this fight. But after staying on the sidelines for so long as his friends were out there fighting, he couldn't just stay away.
"Please, don't worry about it, Lelouch." Rivalz said as his eyes burned with a fierce determination. "I'm with you. I want to find the future." His serious tone and words surprised Lelouch. He always figured that Rivalz would never want to comprise that cheery and optimistic personality he had that made him Rivalz. But the boy's determination to fight for the future greatly impressed the former prince. He never gave his friends enough credit.
However, Rivalz's serious persona suddenly dropped as he spotted a hopeful grin. "And hey, who knows? Maybe once we win this fight, the prez will finally agree to date me!" He announced as he began laughing.
Lelouch let out a chuckle at his friend's optimism. He always was hopeful that one day Milly would return his affections. Maybe once this was over, Milly would be able to. "Maybe she would Rivalz." Lelouch added his two cents before they were suddenly interrupted.
"We're nearing the target! Prepare to launch!" Mileina's voice came from the bridge. Lelouch then quickly got serious as he finished the last of his preparations.
Ptolemy rotated its rings and opened a canister revealing the upgraded Gouka Byakuen with a GN Drive on it's left shoulder. "You're clear to launch Mr. OZ. Show them some magic!" Mileina said as Orpheus finished the preparation and gripped the controls.
"Copy that!" He said as he took a deep breath to prepare himself. "Orpheus Zevon! GN-Byakuen! Taking off!" He then blasted out of the hangar and flew off in the direction of Damocles.
Another canister began rotating to the top and opened up to reveal the Sutherland Seig with a GN Drive sticking out of its back. "You're good to fly Orange boy! Oops! Sorry about that!" Mileina apologized for calling the cyborg by his infamous nickname.
"There is no need to apologize. After all, that is the name of my loyalty, Orange!" Jeremiah declared proudly, happy to use the name given to him by his liege. "Jeremiah Gottwald! GN Sutherland Sieg! Engaging the enemies!"
The new machine launched from its hangar to join up with the GN-Byakuen as they continued to Damocles.
A new canister made it to the top of the flying battleship and opened to reveal the new Guren. "You're good to go Mrs. vi Britannia!" Mileina announced with the excitement of a young girl when it came to the topic of love.
"Gotcha!" Kallen said, not bothering to deny the declaration. After all, she wouldn't mind if Lelouch ever put a ring on her finger when this was all over. But first, they had to save the world. "Kallen Kouzki! Guren GN-Type Special! Heading out!"
The new and improved Guren blasted out of the Ptolemy with incredible speed.
"Launching the GN Arms Flaming Halo!" Mileina announced as another compartment opened up and the GN Arm flew out and approached the Guren. The battle armor-like device opened up and the Guren entered the opening. It then closed around the Guren, securing it in place.
"Linkage complete! All systems green!" Kallen announced as all the diagnostic reports glowed green with success. "Guren Special GN-Type Flaming Halo! Ready for combat!" she then went to meet with her comrades.
Last but not least was the 00 Gundam, as both it and the 0 Raiser got into position on the catapult. "You're all good to fly boss! Have a safe trip out there!" Mileina wished as she gave a wave over the video feed.
"Roger!" Lelouch acknowledged as he gripped and regripped the controls of his Gundam to calm himself. This is it. No going back. "00 Gundam! Lelouch vi Britannia! Launching!" The Gundam then shot down the launch bay and blasted off into the sky.
The 0 Raiser was next as it then rose from beneath where the 00 Gundam was standing. "You're all set to fly Mr. Cardenonde! Have fun!" Mileina announced with a wink!
"You betcha!" Rivalz said with excitement. "Rivalz Cardemonde! 0 Raiser! Flying outta here!" The 0 Raiser shot from the hanger and flew to meet up with the 00. The docking sensor of the former went out and the two linked up and combined into the fearsome 00 Raiser!
Other Knightmares began pouring out of the Peace Mark float ships, including the Agravain piloted by one of the organization's leaders, code name, Wizard. Another machine known as Gekka Shiden, a customized machine equipped with numerous bladed weapons piloted by Zi Dian.
With this makeshift army behind him, Lelouch led the charge toward Damocles.
"Emperor Schneizel!" An officer shouted from the Damocles bridge. "Our radar system just went silent and our comms have just started to become jammed."
At this piece of news, Schneizel couldn't help but smirk. 'He's here.' The Emperor thought in glee. "Launch the signal flares! Let our forces know the enemy is approaching!"
The Damocles launched the flares from the massive fortress, an action that all those present recognized.
"Looks like they're coming!" Gino said in his upgraded Knightmare, the Tristan Divider, as he held an excited smile on his face. "Then let's get it on!" He declared as he drew the new duel Excalibur class MVS they made for him. The other Rounds were only Anya and Nonnette, the former in the Mordred and the latter in a repaired version of the Lancelot Albion though with blue outlines instead of gold.
"Glinda Knights! Prepare yourselves! This is the fight of our lives!" Princess Marrybell mel Britannia declared her own personal anti-terrorist organization within her Knightfortress, the Elphaba. "ALL HAIL BRITANNIA!"
"ALL HAIL BRITANNIA!" Was the response from the Knights. As expected of one of Britannia's greatest military units.
"Have our forces launch and join the battle!" Ohgi ordered. The order was followed immediately as the black Knightmares exited from the Ikaruga and formed up with the Britannian forces, waiting patiently for the arrival of the Gundam.
A few moments later, the 00 Raiser emerged from the cloud, along with three other machines, all sporting GN Drives of their own. One of them looked like a massive version of the Guren too. That meant Kallen was here as well.
What followed them was a massive flying ship, powered by large GN Condensers, the Ptolemy. Behind that was a small armada of Peace Mark float ships. While they weren't as massive and powerful as Britannian float ships, they did have more of them. And hordes of Knightmares came pouring out of the float ships and moved into position.
Schneizel gave a devious smile as he watched Lelouch begin to make his way to the Damocles. 'Stubborn as always, Lelouch.' Schneizel thought as he signaled his troops for the attack to begin.
A Knightmare brought up his rifle to shoot the 00 Raiser, but the Gundam was quicker as it brought up its GN Rifle and fired a quick shot that obliterated the Knightmare. Lelouch then switched the rifle to sword mode and swiping it to the side blasted off to meet even more foes. And with that, the final game between Lelouch vi Britannia and Schneizel el Britannia began.
"We got that long-range camera set up right?" Milly asked her news crew as they stood on the edge of a cliffside overlooking the battle above them, conveniently, the place where Rolo was buried.
"Almost done!" The head crewman said as he and his team were just putting the finishing touches on the equipment. "But are you sure you want to do this Ms. Ashford? Wouldn't it be best to leave a season or experience war reporters do this story? You only started a few months ago."
"Maybe," Milly admitted as she gazed at the sky above that began flashing bright lights that just had to be explosions. The battle had begun. "But I've got personal stakes in the outcomes of this story. So I want to be here to show the world the story I want to share."
"And what story is that ma'am?" The crewman asked.
She then turned to the man and gave a warm smile. "The story about a boy who decided to change the world."
The Bradford Brave, piloted by Glinda Knights member Leonhardt Steiner, swung its Hadron spear at the 00 Raiser. But the Gundam managed to vault over the red and gold color scheme Knightmare, folding out its GN Sword as it did so. As it finished its leap over, the Gundam spun around and was able to slice the spear in two. The Brandford attempted to retreat, but the Gundam brought its GN Sword up high, prepared to strike down the Knightmare.
However, a massive Hadron blast stopped Lelouch in his tracks. He turned to the source of the beam to see the Zetland Heart, piloted by Tink Lockhart, another member of the Glinda Knights, holding its massive Giga Hadron Launcher in its hands.
Leonhardt sighed in relief. "Thanks, Tink. That was- Look out!" Leonhardt's warning almost came too late as in an instant, the 00 Raiser was on the Zetland and swung it's GN Sword down on its opponent. Tink dodged the attack just barely, at the sacrifice of his Giga Hadron Launcher. The weapon exploded in a cloud of smoke as Tink moved back to avoid the Gundam.
"Lelouch! We got incoming!" Rivalz shouted, sending the information over to Lelouch's side of the console. The exiled prince turned revolutionary turned trailblazer turned to see what Rivalz was referring to. A large volley of missiles was fired from a Gareth model, piloted by Marika Soresi, a member of the Glinda Knights and younger sister of the deceased Kewell Soresi, to their position, about fourteen missiles total.
Switching the GN Sword to rifle mode and bringing up the wings of the 0 Raiser, the 00 Raiser began to fire beams at the incoming missiles. He managed to get about ten of them, but the remaining four continued, too close for Lelouch to shoot down. Acting quickly, the 00 Raiser reached with it's left hand towards behind its waist and drew a beam saber. The beam weapon ignited and he swung the purple blade at the remaining missiles, destroying them, while almost keeping the 00 Raiser at enough distance that the missiles didn't do too much damage to the Gundam's hull.
The 00 Raiser then ascended higher in the air than the three machines operated by the Glinda Knights. It then turned and locked on with its targeting system. With the press of a button, the 00 Raiser launched its own volley of GN Micro Missiles at the Glinda Knights. Twelve total, four for each of the three machines.
But before the missiles could make contact with the three machines, twelve ACO class slash harkens intercepted the missiles and destroyed them. Lelouch looked up to see where the Harken came from and saw the Sheffield Eye, piloted by yet another Glinda Knight Sokkia Sherpa.
Lelouch began to move to engage the new frame when he came into contact with a red and gold-colored Lancelot that was upgraded. The Lancelot HighGrail, piloted by the head Knight of the Glinda Knights and personal Knight of Princess Marrybell, Oldrin Zevon. The HighGrail pulled out its large HighGrail Class Sword and charged the 00 Raiser.
The Gundam dodge the do swing before vaulting over the horizontal slice that followed. It then folded out the GN Sword and blocked the next attack. The two machines struggled for a moment before the 00 Raiser won out and pushed the HighGrail back, followed by its slashes and jabs with its sword. While the Gundam had the superior blade, the HighGrail sword was stronger than the usual MVS, making it difficult to cut cleanly through the blade.
Lelouch swung the blade extra hard, causing the HighGrail to be knocked back by the force of the blow. Oldrin then took the opportunity to use the newly gained distance to regroup with her fellow Knights and surround the Gundam.
"I'll admit, they're good. Really good!" Lelouch confessed. They were really good. So good that Lelouch was glad that he never had to face them when he led the Black Knights as Zero. But they weren't the Knights of the Round, and they certainly weren't Suzaku.
He was about to move to engage them again when two hadron beams fired into the formation of the Glinda Knights. Lelouch looked up to see the Agravain, having just fired its wrist-mounted Hadron cannons at the group, followed by the Gekka Shiden and the GN-Byakuen descended and surrounded the 00 Raiser in a defensive formation.
"Go on Lelouch vi Britannia!" The masked man Wizard ordered as the Agravain pulled out two MVS and held them at the ready. "We have the most experience with these Glinda Knights. We'll deal with them while you make your way to Damocles!"
"Are you sure?" Lelouch asked. These guys may not be Knights of the Round, but they certainly weren't run-of-the-mill Britannian troops either. And it was three-on-five.
"We've got this handled Lelouch!" Orpheus assured the Gundam Meister. "Besides," He then turned his gaze to the Lancelot HighGrail, piloted by none other than his twin sister Oldrin. "This is personal!"
Lelouch could tell from the tone in OZ's voice that he had some family issues to sort out with the head knight of the anti-terrorist group. He should know, he knows all about bad blood in the family.
"Very well." Lelouch relented, knowing he still needed to stop the Damocles before it reached 300 kilometers. The Damocles had already passed the 200-kilometer mark, he had to hurry if he was gonna stop it. "I'll leave it all to you."
He then folded the GN Sword in and rose from the defensive position the three Peace Mark members had him in and flew off in the direction of Damocles.
The Bradford saw this and transformed into a fighter plan to try and stop it. But it was stopped when it was hit with a pair of electromagnetic nunchaku that knocked it off course and forced it to transform back into a Knightmare. Leonhardt looked to see the Gekka Shiden putting away the pair of nunchucks.
"Sorry lion boy!" The pilot of the modified Gekka, Zi Dian said as the purple Knightmare then drew a pair of large swords. "But you're gonna have to deal with us!"
As the 00 Raiser continued to make its way towards Damocles, cutting down and blasting anyone who tried to stand in his way, Lelouch and Rivalz noticed three Caerleon-class floating battleships firing on their allies, tearing them apart. The Glinda's Knights personal flagship, the Grandberry was at the head, taking the most lives.
"That's not good!" Rivalz announced. "We've got to do something!"
"Agreed!" Lelouch said as he decided now would be the perfect time to test something out. "What's the status of the Raiser System?" He asked Rivalz.
The blue-haired boy looked toward the console and saw that the Raiser System was reading 100 percent charge. "System is ready and waiting for activation! Whenever you're ready Lelouch!?" Rivalz declared with a smile, excited to see what was gonna happen.
"Rodger!" Lelouch acknowledged as the display screen for the activation for Raiser System came upon his board. Lelouch pressed the button and soon the familiar red glow of Trans-Am enveloped the Gundam.
"TRANS-AM RAISER!" Lelouch shouted as the Gundam shinned crimson, an infinity symbol made from GN Particles flowing out from the 00 Raiser's sides as it raised its GN Sword above its head. The ginormous beam saber that was known as the Raiser Sword extended out into the sky, blowing away the clouds and even entering the atmosphere.
Lelouch then brought the blade down on the three floating battleships before him, having lined up with them so he could cut them down in one fell swoop. An unlucky Knightmare pilot got caught up in the descending beam and was obliterated. The Raiser Sword didn't stop as it then sliced cleanly through the three floating battleships, including the Grandberry. The Glinda Knights flagship and their tactical advisor Johann Schwarzer and KMF operator Toto Thompson met their end in a fiery explosion. Followed by the other two floating ships.
As the crimson glow of Trans-Am faded, Lelouch and Rivalz looked in shock at the results of their action. They hadn't expected that to happen, but they weren't exactly complaining either as Lelouch had a devious smirk on his face.
He was going to win this fight. No matter who or what stood in his way.
On Ptolemy, the crew looked in amazement at the power of the 00 Raiser as it destroyed three floating battleships, all high class. Ian chuckled as he looked at the Gundam through a view screen.
"Well, that sure was something," Ian said as he scratched the back of his head. "I didn't expect that to happen with the Raiser System. But I'm not complaining."
On the Damocles was a different story, however.
The officers present looked in shock and some in fear at the power of a Gundam. It managed to destroy three of their most advanced float ships in a matter of seconds with one strike.
Kanon and Schneizel were also shocked by this development, though the emperor managed to hide his better than his aid did. 'So you're pulling out all the stops then Lelouch.' Schneizel thought as he then smirked deviously. 'Very well, then I'll just have to respond in kind.'
"Prepare to fire a F.L.E.I.J.A. warhead!" Schneizel ordered.
Ohgi's eyes shook as he witnessed the 00 Raiser destroy three float ships with one strike. That was the power that Lelouch now wielded? If he ever turned that power on the Black Knights and the UFN, they would surely be destroyed.
Yet, as the thought entered Ohgi's mind, another did as well. Why didn't he? If he had all that power and resources available to him, why didn't he use it to achieve his vengeance against them for betraying him? Why did he let them live when he easily had the power to kill them?
The more Ohgi thought about it, the more he couldn't help but think he was wrong about who Lelouch was. After Schneizel revealed the 'truth' to them, Ohgi thought he was nothing but a power-hungry tyrant willing to use and throw away anyone in his quest for revenge and power. But yet he saved the Black Knights, saved him when he had no reason to, fought for Japan's freedom against the strongest Knightmare pilot in the world when its people abandoned him.
Just who was Lelouch vi Britannia?
He was then pulled out of his thoughts when he saw the Blaze Luminous shielding on the Damocles open up. It then fired a familiar warhead, and it was currently locked onto the 00 Raiser. The Gundam managed to easily dodge the warhead high-speed, but a few seconds after it passed him, it exploded in a familiar pink orb.
The Gundam kicked into overdrive as it blasted to escape the expanding orb. Thankfully, it was able to escape its range just in time. However, many weren't as lucky. And a number of them happened to be Black Knights and Britannian soldiers along with Celestial Beings and Peace Mark's forces.
Ohgi was about to contact Schneizel and demand why he attempted such a dangerous attack. But stopped when he realized it would be futile, the GN Particles from the GN Drives would just jam the communication.
It was instances like these that made Ohgi begin to doubt Schneizel more and more. Was he truly gonna live up to his end of the bargain when this was all over? Or were the Black Knights and the UFN just being used as pawns in a petty game between two brothers? And if so, who was controlling them?
As Lelouch grimaced at the destruction that followed that F.L.E.I.J.A. Explosion, he turned his machine toward the Damocles. Schneizel was willing to eliminate his troops and allies to kill Lelouch. Understandable and tactically sound, but also just plain ruthless. Lelouch needed to stop him.
Unfortunately, that wasn't gonna be so easy. So he decided to call an expert to help him. "Come in Nina, it's Lelouch! Is there any way I can stop the F.L.E.I.J.A. if they fire another warhead?"
"I'm not sure." Nina's voice came through the channel, disappointed. "If I had the time and resources to make an anti-F.L.E.I.J.A. device, maybe. But I don't have either of those." Lelouch gritted his teeth, nothing was ever easy. "But there may be another way."
Lelouch's head shot up. "Well, let's hear it! What is it?"
"I've been analyzing the properties of the GN Particles, and I think that if you can release a large amount of GN Particles as the explosion goes off, then the particles could theoretically absorb the energy from the warhead," Nina explained. "But, you'd have to do it when the explosion goes off and you'd have to be at ground zero when it does. And even then I'm not 100 percent sure it's gonna work."
"So you're saying that we have to be right there in the center of the explosion when it goes off, do it before it has any time to grow bigger, and you're not even sure it's gonna work?!" Rivalz summarized.
"... Pretty much, yeah," Nina confirmed, a hint of regret in her voice.
Lelouch sighed. "We'll have that be a last-ditch scenario in case we can't find another way. In the meantime, let's try and find a way to keep the Damocles from firing another warhead. Any suggestions on how to get through the massive Blaze Luminous shielding?"
"It's an ingenious design." Ian's voice came through as he gave Lelouch the report. "That floating fortress has been outfitted with the most advanced version of the Blaze Luminous shielding. Even if we fired everything we had, and then some, it would still take about 2 hours for us to breach the shield."
"And we only have less than an hour before the Damocles reaches 300 kilometers. And by then, it won't matter." Lelouch grimaced. He didn't have a lot of options or time left. "Any other suggestions?"
"Well the only time the shield ever opens is when they launch a F.L.E.I.J.A. but were currently trying to take the fortress down before it can do that," Ian said with regret.
"What about cutting through the shield? You saw what we did to those ships with the Raiser Sword. I'm sure it has the power to destroy the shield." Lelouch suggested.
"Yeah, it would! Only one problem with that though." Rivalz said with a fraction of regret. "The Raiser system is still recharging from when we used it last time. Right now it's only at 20 percent. It wouldn't be able to finish charging before they were ready for another warhead launch." Again, Lelouch gritted his teeth. They were running out of options.
"Well the Raiser Sword is out, but the idea of cutting into the shield might not be," Ian said as he got an idea. "The GN Sword III should be able to cut into the Blaze Luminous shielding, it was designed to be able to cut through anything, regardless of how strong the material or energy is. So if you could cut deep enough into the shield, you might be able to make a wedge big enough so you can enter the shielding."
"How long would that take?" Lelouch asked, hope filling his chest as a plan came together.
"I'm not sure, but it will be faster than waiting for the Raiser System to finish charging up," Ian said.
"That's all I needed to know," Lelouch said with a smile. "We've now got a plan. Order everyone to keep the Britannian and Black Knight forces occupied while we attempt to cut into the shield. And tell them to stay as close to the Damocles as possible. If we're close enough to them, then they can't use a warhead without endangering themselves."
And with that, the 00 Raiser blasted off toward the Damocles and weaved its way around the battlefield until it arrived at a lower section of the Damocles shielding that wasn't currently heavily protected.
Quickly making sure no obvious eyes were watching them, the 00 Raiser folded out its GN Sword and raised it high, preparing to cut into the shield. "Okay," Lelouch said as he took a deep breath. "Here goes nothing!"
The Gundam brought the sword down on the shield and began to cut. Though the shield resisted the blade at first, the sword kept pushing down against the shield, using its free hand to help add pressure on the arm carrying the blade. Lelouch was getting in, no matter what.
Kallen shot a massive surge of radiation energy from the Flaming Halo GN Arm to a battalion of Knightmares. They began to expand before they exploded in a brilliant explosion. Kallen flew through the cloud of smoke and emerged to come face-to-face with several Black Knight Knightmare frames, including the Akatsuki Command Model piloted by Chiba, the Shen Hu piloted by Li, and the Zangetsu piloted by Tohdoh.
"Kouzuki," Chiba said over her Knightmare's speakers, her voice filled with contempt. "You dare to stand against us after deserting us?'
"I did warn you that the next time we would meet on the battlefield I would be your enemy now did I?" Kallen reminded them, her face holding a fierce determination.
Chiba looked as if she was going to argue more when the Zangetsu held out a blade to stop its comrade. "This is the choice you've made and committed to Kouzuki?" Tohdoh asked for clarification one more time.
"Yes. I've made my choice!" Kallen declared without even a beat of hesitation in her voice after he asked his question. She wasn't going to stray from the path she'd chosen. Not now, not ever.
"I understand," Tohdoh said as he held a somber look on his face. He then took a deep breath and his eyes blazed with a fiery determination. "Then I suppose we have no choice. All units present, target the Guren-like machine. That Knightmare and its pilot Kallen Kouzuki is now our enemy! And so we must defeat her for the sake of our home! LONG LIVE JAPAN!"
"LONG LIVE JAPAN!" The Black Knights gathered with him, including Chiba and Li, cheered as they charged their former ace. Kallen merely brought up the massive surger claw and prepared to do battle against the very people she fought and struggled beside to free the land she called home.
"Man, you have a lot of swords!" Leonhardt complained as he did his best to block and parry whatever blades he could from the Gekka Shiden. While he had lost his Hadron spear to the 00 Raiser moments ago, he had used his Megiddo Harkens as a pair of Schroeter steel blades. While they were effective combat weapons, against a machine with this many blades it was not as effective as he would have liked them to be. He was quickly losing ground against the vicious onslaught of the many blades held by the purple Knightmare.
He was knocked back by a hard swing from the Shiden's battle-axes. He was too busy trying to stabilize himself to block an incoming attack from the Shiden. Though thankfully he didn't need to, a Hadron blast forced the Shiden to dodge the beam.
Zi looked to where the blast had come from and saw a Gareth with its arms outstretched, Hadron hand cannons smoking from just being fired. "Don't worry Leonhardt. I have your back!" Marika assured her fiance as she came to stand beside him.
"Thank you, Marika," Leonhardt said as he regained balance and was ready to stand against their foe.
Despite being outnumbered, Zi smiled in excitement. "Two on one, now it's a fair fight!" He declared as he flew in to engage them.
Wizard wasn't doing too bad either as he was able to hold his own against two of the Glinda Knights. After losing two of his weapons to the Gundam, Tink had to rely on his Knightmare's All Range Bomber weapon to get in attacks, which wasn't proving very effective against the Agravain.
Sokkia wasn't fairing that much better either. After sacrificing all twelve of her ACO harkens to stop the 00 Raiser's missile barrage, she was only left with two normal slash harkens, which were quickly cut down by the Agravain's MVS. So she resorted to using her Knightmare's high speed mode to try and distract Wizard enough to allow the Zetland to get a hit in.
But these were just the opening act to the real battle happening between Orpheus and Oldrin in the GN-Byakuen and Lancelot HighGrail. Armed with a superior Knightmare power by a GN Drive, Orpheus was able to have the upper hand on his twin sister throughout the entire battle, but Oldrin wasn't going to let the fact that her brother now wielded the power of the GN drives keeps her from losing this battle, not by a long shot.
However, she may not have a choice. The Byakuen showed no signs of slowing down or stopping as it was easily able to maneuver around the attacks from the HighGrail, thanks to the GN Particles making the Knightmare weightless. The right arm of the Byakuen shifted to a shock baton and the GN-Knightmare jammed it in the HighGrail. Oldrin screamed as she felt the electric current dance around her Knightmare and body.
The contact broke off when suddenly, the Byakuen was rammed into by another Knightmare. Orpheus was able to regain mobility in time to see his culprit, the Sheffield Eye, combine with the red and gold Lancelot. The two Knightmares combined to form the Lancelot Great Valkyrie.
Despite this new threat that he would have to deal with, Orpheus couldn't help but grin in excitement. "Now it's a fair fight! For you that is!" Orpheus declared as he charged his sister.
In another corner of the battlefield, the GN Sutherland Sieg was currently locked in a battle against the Knights of Six and Nine, the Knight of Three was nowhere in sight. Thanks to the GN Drive Jeremiah was more than fast enough to avoid the Mordred's long-range attacks and outmaneuver the Lancelot Albion.
"You know there's something I don't quite understand, Jeremiah," Nonnette admitted as she fired a V.A.R.I.S. bast, which the Knightfortress dodged, before returning fire. "You used to be loyal to the Empire. If what I read is any indication, you had by far the most steadfast dedication to Britannia than most troops in the military. So what changed? What made you throw all those years of service and loyalty away like that?"
"The answer to that is simple Lady Enneagram." Jeremiah began as he fired his Hyper-velocity Cannon, grazing the Lancelot's hull. "I've found my true master!" The Knight of Orange yelled with pride as he then launched his 5 lance-type slash harkens. The two Knights maneuvered as best they could around the piercing weapons, but a few harkens managed to make contact and knock the two aside.
All the while, the Knight of Six, Anya Astreim couldn't help but feel apprehensive as she was battling the Knight of Orange. Why was she fighting? Who was her master that she was serving? The former Emperor, or the current one? The reason she stuck with the former she couldn't remember and the reason she served the latter was because he promised he would help with remembering.
But ever since that assault on Celestial Beings base, her memories had been coming back. All of them. It was so much that she could barely handle it all. But now that she got her memories back, what was her reason for siding with Schneizel el Britannia?
These were the thoughts that plagued Anya as she continued to do battle with no purpose.
As he observed the battle from his throne aboard the Damocles, Schneizel couldn't stop the irritating frown from forming on his face. 'They've lasted longer than I anticipated them to.' Schneizel thought as his hands tightened together. 'Not only that, but with them so close to the Damocles, I can't fire a F.L.E.I.J.A. without endangering the fortress. I have to admit, Lelouch, you played your ca-Wait! Where is he? Where is Lelouch?'
At that moment, Schneizel realized he had gotten too distracted with the battle to keep his eyes specifically on Lelouch. As he looked around the various screens, he didn't see any sign of the infamous Gundam. Schneizel knew Lelouch was around here somewhere, he wouldn't just cut and run. That wasn't Lelouch. So where was he?
"Locate the Gundam! I want that machine found immediately!" The Emperor ordered as he straightened in his chair.
The crew got to work, but their results came up empty. The 00 Raiser was nowhere visible in the large battle around them. Schneizel frowned. Where could Lelouch have gone?
"Your Majesty!" A tech officer shouted. "We have an anomaly in the Blaze Luminous shielding! Section 23 of the shielding on the lower port side."
Schneizel blinked. An anomaly, how is that possible? They had tested the shield extensively before they launched. There should be no malfunctions or system errors present.
Unless…
"Get me a visual of the sector immediately!" His order was carried out instantly as a screen opened up and showed the aforementioned section of the shield. And low and behold, the 00 Raiser was trying to cut into the shielding with its blade.
Schneizel had to give it to Lelouch. He was able to order his forces to distract Schneizel long enough for him to sneak by and begin to cut his way into the Damocles. A good plan, but not good enough.
"Send out signals to these two individuals," Schneizel ordered as he began as he sat back down in his throne and gave the individuals names and Knightmare designations. "Tell them that we have a fly that needs to be swatted."
As the battle continued to rage all around them, the 00 Raiser continued to cut into the shielding of the Damocles with its GN Sword. Finally, the blade managed to cut into the shield.
"Yes!" Lelouch shouted. "Now I just need to make an opening large enough for us to squeeze through! It shouldn't take more than a few minutes!"
As Lelouch continued to focus on breaching the shield, Rivalz made sure to pay attention to their surroundings to see if anyone would notice and attack them. So far, no one seemed to pay attention to them.
But that bliss was dashed away as Rivalz spotted an incoming object flying towards them at high speed. "Uhh… Lelouch." Rivalz spoke up, snapping Lelouch out of his concentration. "We may not have a few minutes, more like a few seconds! We got incoming from behind!"
Acting quickly after seeing that something was coming at them from behind, Lelouch drew a beam saber with the Gundam's left hand and swung to intercept. The fighter that was flying towards them transformed to reveal the Tristan Divider. The Knightmare then drew its new duel Excalibur class MVS and slashing down with one to meet the beam saber. The two blades clashed, sending sparks flying as they fought to win out over the other.
"Well if it isn't Mr. Gundam! The exterminator of war!" Gino said, his voice laced with sarcasm. "Kind of ironic as you came here and started a fight yourself, don't you think?"
"Back off! I don't have time to mess around with you Gino!" Lelouch yelled as he pushed against the Tristan while still keeping the GN Sword within the shield, trying to cut his way in despite the handicap he now faced.
The Tristan broke the lock and then delivered a kick to the Gundam's stomach, knocking it away from the shield. "Messing around? Messing around?! Do you think I'm here just to mess with you?!" Gino shouted, a rare moment of anger present on his face. "I'm here to serve Britannia! To help lead us into a better world!"
"Britannia leading us into a better world?! That's garbage! Don't make me laugh!" Lelouch shouted as he charged and swung his GN Sword down. The Tristan Divider brought up its MVS in a cross block to protect itself. The two pilots continued to struggle against the other.
However, a Hadron beam was fired off in their direction, forcing them to break apart so they could dodge. They both turned to see a massive Knightfortress with what appeared to have half a Knightmare frame, specifically a red and gold Lancelot, on the bow of the machine. This was the Elphaba, the personal Knight Giga Fortress of Marrybell mel Britannia.
"Hold it Gundam! That's far enough!" Marrybell warned with venom in her voice as she fired off more beams of energy that the 00 Raiser was forced to dodge. The Gundam ascended higher to avoid a beam, but the destructive red energy streak appeared to follow after him.
Lelouch gritted his teeth. He knew he could take these two out, despite their advanced Knightmares and piloting skills. But they weren't here to kill him. No, they were only to merely stall him while the Damocles continued to ascend higher and higher in the atmosphere. He had to deal with this fast before he ran out of time.
As Milly continued to report on the events of the battle, she couldn't help but feel powerless as she watched the explosions continue to go off. While she was doing her job and wanted to be here, she couldn't help but desire to do more to help her friends. But what could a former Student Council President turned news reporter do to change the tide of the battle?
"Excuse me, Miss Ashford." Milly whipped around as she looked toward the source of the voice. To her astonishment, she saw Princess Cornelia li Britannia standing before her.
The Second Princess and former Goddess of Victory reached into her pocket and pulled out a recorder. "I have something the world needs to hear."
The Elphaba continued to fire Hadron beams at the 00 Raiser, the latter machine barrel rolled out of the way of the blasts as it made another run for the Blaze Luminous shield. The Tristan Divider had other plans as it got in the Gundam's path and flew to intercept it in its fortress mode, firing its twin machine guns.
The bullets did little harm to the Gundam's superior armor, so Gino decided to go in for close combat. The Tristan transformed and drew its two swords and began going on the offensive against the 00 Raiser.
"You say you're doing what you believe to be right Gino?" Lelouch asked as he slashed at the Tristan with his sword. "Then tell me: how can serving someone like Schneizel be the 'right thing'?! You say you fight for Britannia, but the man you follow destroyed your nation's capital, killing off practically all of the Royal family! How can you claim you serve Britannia when the man your following kills its rulers and its people!? How can you serve someone who uses the threat of violence to keep the world still?!"
"And you're any different?!" Gino countered as he fired his slash harkens to knock the Gundam back. "You condemn a man like Schneizel for using violence to keep the peace, but what about you!? Aren't you doing the same thing with all those armed interventions you're doing?! What makes what Emperor Schneizel's doing any different than what you have done?!"
The Tristan raised both its swords and brought them down on the 00 Raiser, only for the Gundam to bring up its GN Sword for a horizontal block. "That's true," Lelouch admitted, surprising Gino. "What Schneizel is doing now is nearly identical to what Celestial Beings is doing with our armed interventions. Threatening people with violence if they try to wage war.
"However, there is one clear-cut difference between us and Schneizel. Schneizel wants the world to remain stagnant, never changing, and never evolving into something greater. But we seek something greater than that. We seek the future! We want humanity to rise from its struggles and become something greater than it is!"
Lelouch's eyes narrowed in determination as he glared at the Tristan. "And nothing, certainly not some misguided soul like you, is gonna stand in our way!" He broke the blade lock and sliced outward with his GN Sword, severing the lower half of the Tristan Divider from the upper body, just below the cockpit.
Gino looked in shock at the 00 Raiser. "It's just so strong." He muttered in awe as the Gundam flew past him and continued to make its way to the Damocles.
The chest compartments on the Elphaba opened up to reveal missile silos that fired off toward the 00 Gundam. The Gundam switched its Sword to Rifle mode and moved to destroy as many missiles that it could. The ones that the 00 Raiser wasn't able to destroy with its rifle were slashed apart with its GN Sword. The Gundam emerged from the smoke cloud of destroyed missiles and charged the Elphaba.
"You and your Celestial Beings are an evil that corrupts the world!" Marrybell cried as the Lancelot frame on the bow of the Giga Fortress drew a pair of MVS to block the 00 Raiser's downward slash as it came in close. "You are in the way of Britannia's mission to save the world! And you must be purged!"
"Does that make you happy?!" Lelouch demanded to know, shocking Marrybell. "I know you lost your family when you were younger! You blamed that on terrorists and the Emperor! But those were lies! And the people who took them from you are gone! But if you truly believe that subjugating the world to this kind of tyranny is the right way to go about this, then you're wrong! Because the way to build a future is to understand each other, but we can't do that if we stomp them under our feet. We need to talk with each other, not rule over each other! Don't you want a future like that!"
"My future was stolen from me!" Marrybell shot back, rage filling her tone of voice as she managed to knock the 00 Raiser back. "By the Emperor, by terrorists, by the world! Humanity started all this! And for that, they must be punished!" The Elphaba shot out wires that wrapped around the 00 Raiser's arms. They then sent an electric shock across the Gundams hull, electrocuting the pilots inside. Both Lelouch and Rivalz screamed in agony from the pain.
The Elphaba fired another Hadron beam at the 00 Raiser, but the pilot was able to bring up a GN Field to block the attack. Off to the side, Lelouch happened to notice three Knightmares charging at them. Judging by them having no weapons drawn and pointing at them indicated they were pulling on a suicide run. Lelouch was about to pull them out of the way when the Elphaba's large arms wrapped around the 00 Raiser, trapping it.
"There's no escape for you now Lelouch!" Marrybell said with sick laughter. "You're going to die here, just like you should have 9 years ago!"
"You'll die too Marrybell!" Lelouch exclaimed.
"I'm perfectly fine with that!" The mad Princess shouted. "If it means that you and your band of terrorists can't keep humanity from the punishment it deserves, then I'm fine with that! So long as they are punished I can die happily."
"I don't think so!" A new voice shouted, surprising Lelouch and Marrybell. "Not on my watch!" Rivalz yelled as he pushed a lever forward, causing one of the 00 Raiser's wings to rise and fire off a volley of missiles at their suicide bombers.
The missiles managed to destroy two of the Knightmares, but the third was able to avoid the missiles and continued toward the pair of machines. Just as it was about to make contact, Lelouch was able to turn a few degrees that made the Elphaba take the brunt of the damage from the explosion.
When the smoke began to clear, the Elphaba was revealed to be badly damaged, having lost its left arm and its hull riddled with dents and scarring.
"You've become twisted Marrybell." Lelouch's voice came from the cloud of smoke in front of the said princess. Then, all at once, the smoke cleared to reveal the 00 Raiser, it's GN Sword raised high, light shining from the blade making it blinding to look at. "And I'm gonna use this blade, to cut that twistedness out of the world!"
He charged. Marrybell desperately tried to stop him, using whatever she had left in the Elphaba to do so. Missiles, the Hadron cannon, etc. but the 00 Raiser did not stop in its charge. With a fierce battle cry, Lelouch brought the GN Sword down on the bow of the ship, right through the middle of the Lancelot core unit.
The last thing Princess Marrybell mel Britannia saw was the green edge of the GN Sword slicing into her cockpit.
Lelouch then dragged the blade through the rest of the Knight Giga Fortress. When it came out the other side, the Elphaba was split in two. The inside of the halves sparked for a moment before they erupted in a brilliant explosion. The Gundam's eyes glowed brighter as its foe met her end.
Lelouch let out a breath as he whipped a brow of sweat from his forehead. That was more taxing than he first thought it would be. "Thank you Rivalz!" Lelouch told his friend, referring to his action that saved their lives earlier.
Rivalz just shrugged as if it was no big deal. "No prob Lelouch! We're friends, aren't we." Rivalz said as it was the most obvious thing in the world. And it was.
Lelouch let out a small chuckle. "Yes, we are." Lelouch agreed with a smile on his face. It quickly disappeared however as he then became serious again as he turned back to the Damocles. "Time to go to work." He said as he shot the 00 Raiser toward Damocles.
"Hmm." Schneizel frowned as he saw the 00 Raiser get back to work on its cut in the Blaze Luminous after it dealt with the Knight of Three and Marrybell. 'He took care of them faster than I thought. No matter though.' Schneizel then glanced at the display and smiled. 'The Damocles has reached 290 kilometers, just 10 more and soon no force on Earth will be able to stand in the way of peace.'
"Emperor Schneizel!" An officer spoke out, pulling the 99th Emperor out of his thoughts. "We have an incoming broadcast! It's on all frequencies! It appears to be from a news outlet!"
'A news outlet?' Schneizel mused to himself as he brought a hand to his chin. 'What could they be possibly reporting about?' There was only one way to find out. "Put it on the main monitor!"
Soon enough, the main screen shifted from the 00 Raiser trying to cut into the shield to a familiar blonde newswoman who's been making a career reporting on anything Gundam-related.
"Good Afternoon viewers!" Milly Ashford began, her tone devoid of the usually cheerful and excited tone she used when she began her broadcasts. "We are broadcasting worldwide because there is something you all need to know, concerning the new Emperor of Britannia, Schneizel el Britannia." She then looked to her side to address someone off camera "I'll let you have the floor now."
The camera then swung right and Schneizel's eyes widened when he saw his half-sister Cornelia on screen.
"To those of you who don't know me, my name is Cornelia li Britannia, Second Princess to the Holy Britannian Empire." Cornelia introduced herself, regardless of how famous or infamous she was with the viewers. "I've come here to deliver grave news regarding my brother and our supposed Emperor that you all need to hear." she then reached into her pocket and pulled out a recorder. "But I'll let him speak for himself." She then pressed the button.
As the recording began to roll, Schneizel rose from his throne in shock as he heard his voice be played from the recorder. It was the conversation he had with Kanon just before they launched Damocles, the one where they discussed the destruction of the Black Knights and the UFN after dealing with Lelouch and Ribbons.
It was ironic. Schneizel had manipulated a recording of his brother's conversation with Suzaku to turn the Black Knights against him. Now his sister who hated Lelouch with so much passion was using an unaltered recording to turn the world against Schneizel.
Oh, what irony.
But Schneizel wasn't going down that easily. "Prep a F.L.E.I.J.A. warhead." He spoke in a calm voice that sent chills down the bridge crew's spine.
"Your Majesty?" Kanon questioned as he looked at his lord in shock. What was the point of launching a warhead now?
"Did you all mishear me?" Schneizel asked as if daring them to say 'yes'. "Prep a warhead. NOW!" His order, no demand, sent the bridge crew into a flurry of action to carry it out.
"The warheads being loaded as we speak. Where should we send it, Your Majesty?" The targeting officer asked as readied himself to type in the coordinates as he looked back at his Emperor and froze when he saw the look on his face.
On his face, Schneizel held an uncharacteristic sadistic smile. It was so unlike him to hold such a maddening look as he was always seen as a calm and unmoveable human being. "Target… Horai Island."
As the recording continued to broadcast, the battlefield froze.
All its occupants ceased their fighting and froze when they heard the plans of Emperor Schneizel, especially the Britannians and Black Knights. The former group could only freeze in shock as they realized how ruthless and cruel their Emperor could be, while the latter was boiling with anger at how they were deceived by the man who was planning their destruction.
Even the Knights of the Round were shocked. How could they let themselves serve such a man, a man who viewed it as so easy to throw away his pawns without a second thought? The Glinda Knights were also thrown in for a loop at their Emperor's deception. Was this the man Princess Marrybell told them to fight for and the man she ended up losing her life for?
But none were more shocked than Ohgi himself as he froze from the words. He let himself be deceived by Schneizel. He let his faith and loyalty in Zero waver and it could quite possibly cost them everything.
He clenched his fists in anger and rage. His mind was so clouded by hatred that he could only think of one thing. "Get me a line with the Damocles this instant!"\
As he continued to cut into the Blaze Luminous of the Damocles, Lelouch couldn't help but have a grateful smile on his face for Cornelia's actions. He knew that she didn't do it for him, but rather, for Euphie and Nunnally. And he was fine with that, he wasn't looking for forgiveness. With her actions, she bought him a little bit of time. Maybe enough time for him to break into the fortress and shut off the main cannon before Schneizel could launch a warhead.
As he continued to cut into the Damocles, his eyes happened to land on the main cannon that would launch a F.L.E.I.J.A. That would have to be what he took out first before moving to the rest of the fortress. But something else about the cannon caught his attention.
When he noticed what it was, Lelouch's blood went cold. The cannon was moving. Moving to target something. Lelouch made a horrible prediction about the next move Schneizel would make. Cornelia's reveal didn't slow him down, it only sped him up. And if the recording was anything to go by, Lelouch knew where Schneizel would be firing on.
He had to hurry!
"Target is loaded into the computer and the warhead is loaded into the cannon, ready to fire on your command, Your Majesty!" The targeting officer reported as he turned back to the Emperor.
"Excellent!" Schneizel declared as he sat back in his throne chair. "Transfer the firing controls to me. I'll do it myself."
"Yes, Your Majesty!" The officer said as he put in the commands in the consul he was working on. A few moments later the command was done. "Done. You should have full access to the firing controls."
"Perfect," Schneizel said as he hovered over the button to fire the warhead when the comm officer interrupted him.
"We have an incoming transmission from the Ikaruga!" The officer shouted. Schneizel sighed in annoyance as he rubbed his eyes. He might as well get this over with.
"On screen." Schneizel allowed. The monitor then came to life to reveal the angry face of one Kaname Ohgi as he glared at Schneizel. "What seems to be the trouble Commander Ohgi?" Schneizel asked, feigning innocence when they both knew he was anything but.
"You've lied to us the whole time! You deceived us about Zero! Were you even planning to give us Japan back!?" Ohgi demanded as he let his anger get the better of him.
Schneizel was fazed in the least as he just calmly stared at the man before him. "I simply told you what you wanted to hear in order to get you on my side. And you fell for it hook, line, and sinker." Schneizel had an amused smile that only angered Ohgi more. "And now you get to bear witness as your choice destroys everything you've worked so hard to build."
And with that, he pressed the firing button.
A section on the shield opened up and a F.L.E.I.J.A. emerged from the cannon and flew past the units who moved to get out of the way of the dangerous warhead.
"A F.L.E.I.J.A. warhead has been launched! Destination… HORAI ISLAND!"
"What?! Intercept it! Intercept it!"
"We can't! It's too far!"
"NO! Our friends and family!"
"What should we do Commander?!"
The entire bridged crew of the Ikaruga looked to their commander for some form of guidance. But Ohgi was oblivious to their cries as his body shook with fear.
'Viletta…' The name of the Britannian Purist he fell in love with flashed through his mind. He had sent her to Horai Island as a way to keep her safe. But now… Because of his actions, she and the UFN that he and the others fought so hard to create will be destroyed in less than a second when that warhead goes off.
How could have he had been so stupid?! How could he have put his trust in a man like Schneizel?! How could he not try to at least ask Zero himself if the claims were true?! Why couldn't he put a little more faith in him?! WHY?! Why couldn't he follow his gut instinct when Lelouch was flying the Gundam?!
And now it was too late. Everything they had built and sacrificed for was all going to be destroyed in less than possible ten minutes. Ohgi looked up to the sky as if to pray, which in a way, he was.
'We need a miracle.'
"Hold on!" An officer's shout caught his attention and snapped him out of his depression. "We have a unit moving in to intercept the warhead before it reaches Horai Island!"
"Who is it?!" Ohgi asked as some form of hope entered his heart. "Tohdoh?! Chiba?! Li?!"
"No! It's not one of ours, or Britannia's!" The officer announced as she pulled up a visual image of the machine to show the entire crew. The whole crew, especially Ohgi were shocked dumb at the machine that was moving to save the UFN.
"It's the Gundam!"
As he pushed the 00 Raiser as fast as it could possibly go, Lelouch thought back to just over a minute ago.
Flashback: Just over a minute ago.
The 00 Raiser had flown down close to the ground, right next to where Milly and Cornelia were in fact. "Alright! This is where you get off Rivalz!" Lelouch ordered.
"What?! What do you mean?! I'm not leaving you alone to try and stop that thing!" Rivalz tried to protest, but Lelouch wasn't having any of it.
"This isn't open to debate! I tried to do this nicely, but now it's time to get rough!" He shouted as he slammed his hands on the ejection button for the 0 Raiser he had installed just in case a situation like this came up.
Suddenly, a panel beneath the 0 Raiser opened up and Rivalz was dropped out, landing flat on his butt. He stood up and looked towards Lelouch in disbelief. "Lelouch!" Rivalz cried.
"I'm sorry!" Lelouch said over the speakers as he turned to blast off to the F.L.E.I.J.A. warhead. "I can't lose any more of my friends." And with that, the 00 Raiser's Gn Drives powered up and he blasted off.
Flashback end
Lelouch shook his head to get the memory out of his head. He knew Rivalz wanted to help, but he couldn't afford anyone else close to him to die when it could only be him who had to suffer in an instance like this.
"Nina! It's Lelouch!" He said as he opened a channel with the girl genius. "Any more information you can give me on how to stop the warhead with the GN Particles!?"
"Well, maybe by activating Trans-Am you could generate enough particles to stop the explosion," Nina suggested. "But remember, you'd have to be extremely close for it to work! It may not work even if you are!"
"I'll take my chances! Thanks, Nina!" Lelouch said as he closed off the communication and continued flying in pursuit of the warhead. It already had a head start on him, so there was only one way he was gonna catch up to it now.
"TRANS-AM!" Lelouch shouted as he activated the system, causing the Gundam to be enveloped in the crimson glow of Trans-Am. He then rocketed forward at incredible speeds as he flew faster than he ever had before to try and pass the warhead before it reached Horai Island.
When the populace of Horai Island learned that Schneizel had planned to kill them after he dealt with Lelouch, its citizens had started to panic, which was bad enough. But when they learned that a F.L.E.I.J.A. warhead was currently on course for them at this moment, it had only gotten worse. They had all seen what that warhead had done to the Tokyo Settlement in Japan. They knew they wouldn't survive if it was coming their way.
The UFN's chairwoman Kayuga was doing her best to try and calm the people of the Island down so they could begin evacuation, but even she knew it was hopeless. There was no way everyone, or even one person, could get off the island before the warhead reached them. They were all gonna die.
All because Kayuga and the Black knights were foolish enough to trust Schneizel! Was there no hope for them?! Were their sins too great that they were gonna be met with a horrific end?
"Look!" A politician called over the panic. Kayuga looked to where his finger was pointing and looked in wonder and awe to see the 00 Raiser standing protectively in front of the island, the red glow of Trans-Am still activated.
Kayuga couldn't help but be in awe of the action. Even after all they did to him, Lelouch was still going to save them.
As he eyed the warhead approaching closer, Lelouch grimaced as he realized that the F.L.E.I.J.A. was too close for him to just blow up from here, the resulting explosion would envelop him and Horai Island. So he had to settle to just stop it with the GN Particles. If he could.
No. He had to! He had to do this! If one thing needed to remain from his time as Zero, it was the UFN. He sacrificed too much to get the coalition of nations together. He wasn't about to let Schneizel make all those sacrifices be for nothing.
As the warhead came closer and closer, Lelouch pushed the 00 Raiser's Trans-Am and the GN Drives to their max to try and generate as many particles as he could.
As he watched his brother stand protectively in front of the UFN as the missile closed in, Schneizel couldn't help but be impressed. No matter what you threw at him, Lelouch would do whatever he could to try and overcome it, despite how impossible it was for him to win.
"Goodbye Lelouch," Schneizel said as he pressed the button that would trigger the explosion.
When the warhead was upon him, it exploded and the pink ball of destructive energy began to expand. "Now!" Lelouch shouted to himself.
He then directed the GN Particles toward the explosion. The waves of particles began to surround the pink ball and absorb the energy from the F.L.E.I.J.A., causing the mass of energy to begin to shrink. "It's working!" Lelouch cheered. He heard other cheers of celebrations coming from his comms.
However, he ended up speaking too soon as suddenly the pink ball of energy then started to expand again, despite the massive amount of GN Particles he was pouring into the mass. Lelouch cursed himself as he tried to put more particles into the explosion to absorb it.
"The energy generated from the F.L.E.I.J.A. is too much for the GN Particles to contain! You need to get out of there Lelouch!" Nina cried.
"No!" Lelouch refused as he began to back away slightly so the ball didn't envelop him, still generating as many GN Particles as he could. "If I leave now, then so many people will die! I can't let that happen!"
"There's nothing you can do about it, Lelouch! You can't stop it!" Ian tried to reason with him.
Lelouch merely chuckled. "Did you forget who I once was?" Lelouch asked with a devious smirk on his face. "I am Zero, the man who works miracles! If I did the impossible before, then I'll just do it again!"
"Hmm. Unexpected. I didn't believe Lelouch would have some sort of counter to the F.L.E.I.J.A. warhead." Schneizel admitted with surprise as he watched the 00 Raiser try to contain the explosion. "But, it's no matter, he doesn't have enough power to stop the explosion."
"Lelouch!" Kallen cried as she went to be at his side, but her path was blocked by a group of Black Knight Knightmares, among them were the Zangetsu, Akatsuki Command Model, and the Shen Hu. "Get out of my way!" Kallen growled.
"You cannot go there Kouzuki! It's suicide!" Li shouted in protest.
"I said get out of my way!" Kallen shouted again, brandishing her large surger claw for emphasis. "I have to help him!"
"You can't help him! He's already dead!" Chiba declared.
Kallen refused to believe that she moved forward anyway, trying to break the blockade they made in front of her. She was about to when the Zangetsu flew in front of the Guren.
"There's nothing you can do Kouzuki," Tohdoh said as he looked at the Knightmare. "His fate is in his hands now."
Kallen knew that Tohdoh was right. There was honestly nothing she could do to help him. She could only pray that he made it out of this alive.
'Lelouch…'
On Ptolemy, Nunnally was feeling the same level of helplessness as she watched her brother desperately try to save those people. She couldn't do anything to help him. All she could do was watch as he fought off his destruction, a battle he seemed to be losing.
'Lelouch…'
On the ground with the news van, the group gathered to see a televised view of the 00 Raiser's attempt to stop the warhead. An attempt that was proving to seem futile.
'Lelouch…' Rivalz, Milly, and Cornelia all thought of at once.
Speaking of Lelouch, he wasn't having as much success as he hoped.
The sphere had begun expanding larger and larger, it was now beginning to envelop parts of Horai Island. Thankfully the areas that were swallowed up had been evacuated, so no one had lost their lives.
But Lelouch was still no closer to stopping the explosion. So far all he could do was slow it down. And it wasn't slowing down fast enough for the UFN to escape. He had to do something and fast.
"It's hopeless."
Lelouch gasped as he heard the voice in his mind. It was happening again, like on the battlefield when they had to evacuate when Britannia and the Black Knights found Celestial Beings.
"What chance does that machine have against a power like that?"
"What's the point of this useless struggle?"
As more thoughts of the despair and hopelessness of others entered his mind, Lelouch couldn't help but feel doubt creep in his mind. What if they were right? What if it was hopeless for him to stop it?
"We're being punished." A familiar voice entered Lelouch's mind.
"Kayuga?" Lelouch said aloud.
"Because of our stupidity in believing the words of a man like Schneizel, we're being punished for this. And I suppose it is just punishment, I just wish that others didn't have to suffer because of us."
"What can I do?" Another familiar voice entered Lelouch's mind.
"Kallen."
"He's out there all by himself and I'm just powerless to help him. Just like back on the Ikaruga. I can't do anything to help him. I'm just so weak and useless!"
"Here I am, just sitting on the sidelines once again, just being useless."
"Nunnally…?"
"I was always useless. I couldn't help big brother when he was taking care of me all those years. I couldn't do anything for the people of Japan when I tried to help them as Viceroy. And I can't do anything to help Lelouch now that he's fighting for others' lives! I'm nothing but a burden to everyone else."
As more and more thoughts of despair and lamentations entered Lelouch's mind, the young man couldn't help but feel the hopelessness of the situation begin to set in for him too.
"Everyone's lives are fading away." Lelouch cried as he looked down in defeat. It was hopeless. What could he do to stop the likes of Schneizel and the innovators? He was just one person against the whole world.
But despite that…
(Audiomachine - Leap of Faith Start)
Lelouch's hands on the controls tightened with determination. No! He was Zero! The man who works Miracles! He was the pilot of the Gundam, the machine that would eliminate war forever! He wouldn't give up here! He REFUSED! "I…" His resolve was growing so strong that the power of the Geass of Absolute Innovation shined brighter than it ever had before in his eyes. "... AM NOT GONNA LET THAT HAPPEN!" He declared as a red-eye scanner moved across his eyes.
The consul in front of him flashed to life and it read '00 Raiser: Trans-Am Burst'.
(Go to 1:23 of the song and just ride that point on till I say stop)
Suddenly, the GN Drives began to spin faster and generate more particles than they ever had before. Suddenly, an infinity symbol emerged from the GN Drives followed by a tsunami of GN Particles pouring out of the 00 Raiser.
The GN Particles surrounded the pink energy sphere, absorbing all its destructive power until it faded into nothing. The tidal wave of GN Particles didn't stop however as they continued to pour out and enveloped the whole of Horai Island and even expanded beyond the battlefield and Japan. They flew all around the world.
As the Lancelot continued to fly toward the battlefield, Suzaku was met with this overwhelming amount of GN Particles. He recognized the feeling as he had already had exposure to GN Particles. But suddenly, he felt a pang in his head as he brought a hand up to it. It lasted only for a moment before the pain went away. But as he looked back ahead, he noticed in a reflection that his eyes now held a golden glowing symbol of a bird in mid-flight.
And it wasn't just Suzaku.
All across the world, the massive release of GN Particles was triggering a change in humanity, one that will chart the course for humankind for the rest of its existence. All because of the power of one young man and his machine.
As Nunnally looked out the bridge toward the brilliant display of light that was happening off in the distance, she could just tell that it was Lelouch who was responsible. She knew that this light had to come from him. The light of his life.
And it wasn't just her.
The whole occupants of the battlefield knew that it had to be Lelouch vi Britannia who was responsible for this outcome. That certainty made some of them, especially Kallen, cry tears of joy and relief.
He could feel it all. The power, the emotions of others, the strength of will returning to them. But most of all, he could feel the change within himself. The change that was making him into something better.
Lelouch opened his eyes, revealing the shining light of his Geass. "To create the future we have to reform. We have to change!" He declared as the 00 Raiser floated like an angel with its wings spread out, continuing to pour out GN Particles.
Somewhere else above the battlefield, Ribbons was too feeling the effect of the Trans-Am Burst. And just like the others, he knew that Lelouch was the cause of the event.
"It's because of that Gundam!" Ribbons tried to argue. "If I had that machine then I'd have the power!"
"No, there's more to it than that." A familiar voice in his mind shocked Ribbons still. 'It couldn't be' is what he first thought. But he'd know that voice anywhere.
"C.C.?" Ribbons muttered in disbelief.
As the 00 Raiser continued to generate GN Particles, C.C. continued to explain. "When the power of a Pure Wielder of the Geass of Absolute Innovation works together with the twin drive, the purified GN Particles, cause the expansion of people's consciousness." To those listening to her, they could feel she held a smirk on her face. "Congratulations Lelouch vi Britannia, you've completed your evolution. You are now a true Innovator."
As the waves of particles continued to pour out around the battlefield, Ohgi couldn't keep the tears from streaming down his face as he cried in relief. "I-It's a miracle," Ohgi said at first before he shook his head.
"No… It's him!"
"What is this feeling?" Chiba asked as she placed her hand over her heart. "It's like my heart is melting away."
"It's from Lelouch," Kallen said, shocking those with her.
"Lelouch?" Li said in disbelief.
"That's right," Kallen confirmed as she began to wipe some tears from her eyes as she and the others gazed at the radiant machine. "This is the light of Lelouch's heart. The reason I love him."
(Audiomachine Leap of Faith end)
The light from the Gundam had finally ended as the battlefield grew still.
Onboard the Damocles, the crew looked in disbelief. This one machine had the power to completely stop the F.L.E.I.J.A., and not only that, it seemed that it took away the soldiers' will to fight, as evident by the lack of activity from the troops.
However, a laugh from the throne had taken them out of their stupor, they turned to see Schneizel el Britannia laughing maniacally, despite the bad situation they were in.
"It doesn't matter." He said as he shook his head. "It doesn't matter if he was able to stop this F.L.E.I.J.A. Because it's too late! We've already reached 300 kilometers!" He announced as the crew looked to the display. Their emperor was right. They had reached over 300 kilometers. "He can't possibly be able to stop another one after the power he must have used to stop that one just now. Prep another warhead and prepare to fire on Horai Island again. We'll wipe them out for sure this time!"
"I beg to differ Schneizel." A familiar voice came through the comms and the face of Ribbons Almark appeared on the screen.
"Oh?" Schneizel asked as he took a step forward. "And why is that?"
"Because from this point forward, your services are no longer required." Ribbons said with a smirk on his face.
"'My services'? What's that supposed to mean?!" Schneizel questioned in anger.
"It means that you have effectively outlived your usefulness to me. And so, I don't need a pawn like you on the board in my game against Lelouch anymore." Ribbons explained as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"A pawn...? A PAWN?!" Schneizel shouted in anger.
"Yes, Schneizel. A pawn." Ribbons deadpanned. "That's all you ever were to me, a pawn. A more effective and competent pawn I'll admit. But still a pawn. And, I believe that the effective sacrifice of a pawn can lead to a sure-fire victory in chess against any opponent."
Schneizel then laughed some more, the same maddening laugh he had earlier, only more insane, which unnerved his fellow Britannians to no end. "Do you truly believe that I'll just take this laying down?! I'll just turn a F.L.E.I.J.A. on you and destroy you before you make your move!"
"I see two flaws within your statement." Ribbons said as he held up one finger. "The first is simple: do you even know where I am for you to target with your precious F.L.E.I.J.A.?" Schneizel growled as he realized Ribbons had a point. He honestly had no idea where the so-called Innovator was. And he had tried finding him.
"As for the second reason." Ribbons continued as he held up a second finger with a devious smirk on his face. "What makes you think you have the only super-weapon on this planet?" At Schneizel's surprised look, Ribbons continued. "Furthermore, what makes you think yours is better than mine?"
Suddenly, the screen shifted to show an image in space of a satellite with what appeared to be multiple ginormous magnifying glasses on the base. "I present to you Mementos Mori. A satellite-based weapon that can fire a precise laser anywhere on Earth. Similar in a way to your Damocles, but far superior. Do you want to see it in action? Cause it will be the last thing you ever see."
And with that, the laser opened fire and descended to Earth.
"Report! We got a massive beam of energy descending on us at high speeds. We won't be able to avoid it."
Schneizel looked up as he saw the beam begin to descend on them. All while thinking how big a fool he was to play into Ribbons Almarks hands.
When the sudden beam had descended from the sky and destroyed the Damocles, everyone suddenly went into disarray. The shock of the beam and the destruction of the floating fortress was making everyone scramble for some sort of safety in case the beam fired again.
As he arrived back on the battlefield, Lelouch too was shocked by what he saw. But that shock then disappeared as he then knew who had to be behind this. 'So you finally decided to step into the game?' Lelouch thought as he readied himself for another bout. 'Ribbons Almark.'
"Launch the GN-Knightmares and prepare the Reborns for combat." Ribbons ordered Regene as he made his way up the stairs of the mansion located on Mementos Mori to the hangar. "And prepare the Reborns Gundam for combat." He then smiled like a true demon as he finished with, "It's time to show Lelouch the true power of the Innovators."
CB-0000G/C Reborns Gundam
The CB-0000G/C Reborns Gundam, or the Reborns Gundam, was the first Gundam-based machine equipped with the Twin Drives system created by the Innovators. Using data gained from analyzing the 00 Gundam's battles. Despite being based on the 00 Gundam however, it still has the flaws of using Pseudo-GN Drives, meaning it's not quite as powerful as the 00's own Twin Drive system. However, the suit does come with unique features that make it a match for the 00 Gundam including a transformation feature that allows it to switch from a Cannon mode to its Gundam mode. And piloted by the Innovade Ribbons Almark, it is a fearsome machine that cannot be underestimated.
Design
Classification: Custom Innovade-use Transformable Multi-Mode Mech
Height: 7.3 meters (Cannon mode) 7.8 meters (Gundam mode)
Weight: 9.15 metric tons
Power Source: 2 x GN Drive Tau
Crew: Pilot (Located in the chest)
Armaments
Egner Whip (Egner Whip): Shoots out small electric wires that electrify the pilot of the enemy mobile suit. However, this requires the pilot to be still, and one with enough stamina can easily cut the wires. Doubling as the Reborns Cannon mode's hands, they can only be used in this form to wield a beam saber.
GN Buster Rifle (Buster Rifle): Most powerful beam weapon of the Reborns Gundam. Its power output is variable. In Cannon mode it is a powerful beam cannon, in Gundam mode, its output is slightly higher than that of a standard beam rifle. When it uses less power the rifle's rate of fire increases which is in line with the more well-balanced Gundam mode.
Large GN Beam Saber (Large Beam Saber): The Reborns Gundam mounts a pair of large beam sabers stored in the section of the torso armor between the head and shoulders. The large beam sabers use more power and emit a larger than average beam saber (as its name suggests). The beam saber is significantly more powerful than the average beam saber.
Large GN Fin Fangs (Large Fangs): Located on the back of Reborns in Gundam mode, these also serve as its verniers in this form. When in Reborns Cannon mode, the Fin Fangs are facing forward, acting as GN Cannons. The Fin Fangs have greater firepower than regular GN Fangs but are larger thus more easily destroyed. The large GN fin fangs can detach and be remotely operated like other fang weapons. When detached the fin fangs act as mobile cannons, firing a beam equal to that when used by the Reborns Cannon.
Small GN Fin Fangs (Small Fangs): The GN Fangs are stored in Reborns' Gundam's shield and back skirt armor (4 on each location) and can only be used in this mode. These fangs function as beam daggers and are highly maneuverable.
Special System and Features
Bit Control System: A system that allows the pilot to control the GN Fangs/Bits in combat. Most successful when used by an Innovade or Innovator.
Twin Drive System: Thanks to the data gathered from the 00 Gundams battles, Ribbons was able to build the Reborns Gundam with a Twin Drive System fitted for the GN Drive Tau. Though the machine was able to manifest powerful combat capabilities, the machine still acquired the weaknesses associated with the machines operated by the pseudo-GN Drives, such as limited operation time and inability to operate after Trans-Am. Its particle output formula is also stated to be less than the square of a single GN Drive Tau, which already produces less average output than a single original GN Drive, making it a far inferior power-plant system. However, Reborns makes up for it by having enhanced frame technology. Reborns' Twin Drive System also does not require external equipment like 0 Raiser to maintain its stability; this is presumably due to Ribbons having two GN Drive Taus that can synchronize perfectly.
Trans-Am System: Even though the particle output of Reborns Gundam's Twin Drive System isn't on par with the 00 Raiser, Reborns' Trans-Am still proved to be equal to 00 Raiser's when it comes to firepower, speed, and defense. However, the destruction of the GN Drive Tau after the process remains a large weakness.
A/N: Hope you guys enjoyed part one of my climax chapter. Now with Schneizel out of the game for good, it's down to Lelouch and Ribbons as they face off for the fate of the world.
Originally Lelouch was sup[posed to enter space in this chapter, but when I noticed how long the chapter was, I decided to save that for the next chapter. Like one chapter features Lelouch vs. Schneizel, the next is Lelouch vs. Ribbons. Hope this makes you guys happy.
I hope you all enjoyed the fight between Lelouch and the Glinda Knights. Sorry if it wasn't so developed, but to be honest, Lelouch would slaughter the Glinda Knights easily if he was going all out as he did with the Knights of the Round. But they were able to survive, albeit a bit scared, thanks to their teamwork.
I hope I got the characterization for Marrybell right. I read somewhere that she had a level of Black and White Insanity that made her see Britannia as a righteous country or something like that. I haven't read the manga or anything so I wouldn't know.
So now Lelouch has completed his evolution and become a true Innovator, and not only that but his activation of Trans-Am Burst has spread throughout the whole world, triggering an evolution in humanity that allows them to hold the Geass of Absolute Innovation. One of which happens to be Suzaku. Don't worry, that will come up in the next chapter.
I also included my own description of the Reborns Gundam in this chapter because it's coming up in the next chapter.
In other news, I got a question I want to ask you guys in regards to another story. My Persona 5 Batman Beyond Crossover, The Dark Knights of Rebellion (Previously named The Bat-Wings of Rebellion, but I changed it). Would you guys like the story to be set in Japan, or Gotham? Cause depending on which I choose may change the story in some ways. Not big, but may need to change some of the villains' origins and heroes as well. So what do you prefer: Gotham or Japan? Let me know.
So here is the preview for the next chapter.
The Final Game Part Two:
As Ribbons launches a final offensive against Lelouch and Celestial Beings, Suzaku makes a move that changes the tide of the battle, forcing Lelouch into a final confrontation with Ribbons Almark for the future of the world.
