Chapter 9: The attacks

When I woke up I noticed something smelled weird. "Umm Katniss what's that smell?" I said a bit worried. Katniss looked around. "Run" Katniss said. I looked and saw there was a fire heading towards us. "Oh shit!" I cried. I then began quickly,

untying myself from the tree. Katniss untied herself too and we jumped down from the tree. we started sprinting away from the fire. I know I can fly but I wanna stay with Katniss in case I get lost. we kept running until,

a fireball nearly hit us but we dodged it. we then continued running. we kept running until another fireball hit us but we dodged that one too. a tree branch fell, blocking our path so we had to turn around. as we were running we got hit by the,

fireball that was coming towards us. Katniss and I screamed in pain as we fell and pain was burning in my leg. I saw a big cut on my leg. I also saw that Katniss had a big,

cut too and it looked like she was in a lot of pain as well. I had tears streaming down my face because I was in pain. I hoped I can find my family soon. Katniss and I saw,

another fireball coming towards us and we dodged it but we tumbled down the hill. when we got down the hill we continued running. we kept running until we reached,

the lake. we got into the lake and I gasped for air. all that running is tiring. as I was about to pass out, I saw a group of people coming to us. so did Katniss. "Stay close"

Katniss said. I nodded. we got out of the lake and we ran. the group of people continued chasing us. as I was running I tripped. "Katniss!" I cried. I felt myself being lifted,

up. I thought it was Katniss at first but it was the group who was chasing us. I gasped with fear as I saw one of the boy's, Cato who was holding me tightly. Cato handed me,

over to a girl named Marvel. she held me in a tight grip. "Let go of me!" I shouted. she hit me. "Where are you going huh?" Cato said as we ran up to Katniss. Katniss realised,

she was cornerd. "Get her Cato!" Glimmer said. Katniss quickly grabbed onto the tree branch. "Where do you think your going?" Cato said in a mocking tone. I tried to,

escape but Marvel kept holding me in a tight grip. "Where are you going girl on fire?!" Cato said as we reached Katniss. "Katniss get away" I said. "We got your little friend here!" Marvel said. "Mrs. Everdeen I'm gonna get you then kill your friend!" Glimmer called.

Katniss ignored her and kept climbing up the tree. "That's not gonna help you up there, Katniss" Cato said. Cato then began climbing the tree after her. "Go get her man!" Marvel said. "You are so done!" Clove said. "Just get her,

Cato!" Marvel said. Katniss and Cato continued climbing up the tree while I was still being held by Marvel. "He's gonna get you Katniss!" Glimmer said. "Look at her scurry" Marvel said. I turned around and I was surprised to see Peeta a part of this group.

I then turned back and watched Katniss and Cato. "Right up there" Clove said. "Kill her!" Glimmer shouted. "Just go, keep going!" Marvel said. "go Cato!" Clove said.

"Come on Cato!" Glimmer said. Katniss reached the highest point of the tree. "She's right there" Clove said. "Go Cato, come on Cato you got this!" Glimmer shouted.

"I'm coming for you" Cato said as he continued climbing the tree. Cato then fell from the tree. "I'll do it myself" Glimmer said as she got her bow and arrows prepared.

She shot at Katniss but Katniss dodged it. Cato took the bows and shot one at Katniss but he missed. "Maybe you should throw the sword and let my friend go" Katniss said.

"Let's just wait her out. she's gotta come down at some point. it's either that or starve to death" Peeta said. "we'll just kill her then" Peeta said. "Okay. but were keeping,

the girl hostage" Cato said. "Why? Can't we just kill her now?" Glimmer said. "Nah. I want her to witness her friend's death then we will kill her" Cato said. "Ooh good idea"

Glimmer said. "Somebody make a fire" Cato said. "And tie her up" Cato said pointing at me. Marvel dragged me as the others were finding a place to set up a fire.

"Let's make camp over here!" Glimmer said. "Hurry up with that fire!" Marvel yelled as she set me down. Marvel put my hands behind my back and tied my hands together.

"Please, let me go" I said. "Shut up" Marvel said as she hit me again. Marvel then tied my legs together. people then gathered some stuff to make the fire. I tried getting,

out of the ropes but the ropes were too tight on me. after a while people got camp set up. I was still up and unable to escape. I looked up at the tree where Katniss was. she looked at me with sympathy in her eyes. I then turned around. I saw the group,

talking and having a good time eating dinner. I haven't had anything yet and I was starving. "Can I have some food, please? I'm hungry" I said. the group looked at me and laughed. "You think we will give you some food,

if we're gonna kill you?" Glimmer said in a mocking tone. the group laughed. I sighed with defeat. when the group wasn't looking Peeta snuck some food for me. he fed me some food and I was able to eat. "Thank you" I said when I finished eating my food.

"I'm sorry Lana" Peeta said. "For what?" I said confused. "I'm sorry I let them get you. they kinda forced me to team up with them" Peeta said. "Oh, it's okay" I said.

After a while, I saw that everyone fell asleep. A while later I heard some chimes. I looked up and saw there was a parachute coming down towards us. it landed on the tree,

and Katniss grabbed it. she opened it up. I wondered what was inside it. Katniss looked like she was applying something to her leg. everyone was asleep so she climbed down,

the tree and walked over to me. "Katniss?" I said. "Here" Katniss said. "Haymitch send this to us. it's medicine for our wounds" Katniss said. Katniss then opened up the,

jar and applied some medicine to my leg. "Wow, thanks" I said. "Also Peeta fed me dinner before he went to sleep" I said. "Okay, good" Katniss said. "Katniss? Can you,

untie me?" I said. "Sorry Lana but not right now. if we escape now then they will just keep chasing after us. let's wait for a while before we make our move" Katniss said.

I nodded. "Okay" I said. "Get some rest now" Katniss said. she then climbed up on the tree and tied herself to the tree and she fell asleep. I laid down and tried to get comfortable but it was hard.

after a while, I finally fell asleep.
