Chapter 9: A Little Far Back
Upon exiting the capsule of the time machine, the children were scared. They had wondered where they messed up, and upon further investigation of the time machine they figured out. It seemed as if the speed of the time machine caused the metal cube surrounding the magical orb to crack, causing lots of excess energy to pour out. This one small mistake caused the group of children to land millions of years in the past with the dinosaurs. The five of them were frightened and petrified. Constantly, they would hear the loud roars of the dinosaurs, which would make the group of children safe. They needed someplace safe to stay where they would be far away from all the dinosaurs. The five of them then split up, to try and find an area to stay. 20 minutes later, Annalise called everyone and told them that she had found a spot free from all the dinosaurs. The other four decided to follow her, into a big open cave, which was on the side of a small mountain. They had also decided to hall the time machine up into the cave, to protect it from any animals out in the wild that would damage it more than it already was.
As the sun was setting, Phineas and the rest of them knew that they were going to have to camp the night in the cave. The five of them had also decided to split up and look for anything which would help them live such as water, food, and dry wood. After getting all the necessary materials needed to survive the night in the cold and dark cave, everyone went to sleep on the rough and jagged rock under them. Even though it was very hard to go to sleep due to the dinosaurs, and the overall environment in which they were staying, all five of them somehow drifted to sleep as the night progressed. Early the next morning, Phineas was the first to wake up. He then proceeded to wake up Ferb, Annalise, Sophia, and Quentin. Today was the day, that they were going to fix the time machine, and escape from all the dinosaurs. The problem with time machine was that there was a part in the metal box that was not as dense as the other parts, causing it to crack. In order to fix this, they would have to seal the crack, and make the entire box denser. This would be no easy task, as they were in a time period with no resources. They would have to seal the box and add to the density, by using the materials which were already present around them. After a few hours of searching, the group found materials such as leaves, wood, and clay which they could use for the time machine. After putting down all the materials in one pile, Phineas and Ferb went straight to work. They wanted to get out as soon as possible to avoid any disasters which were awaiting to happen. After a few more hours, the time machine was ready. The magical orb was wrapped in hundreds of leaves and was secured by the clay which was found. Now that everything was in place, they decided to leave and go back to the beginning of summer. Even though seeing all the amazing and humongous dinosaurs was cool, the children were happy to leave and go back to enjoy their summer again. As they were entering the time machine, Phineas was seated n the middle right in front of the control panel. As they all slid in, Annalise was the last one to come in, and she shut the door behind her. They were already to go, and now all that Phineas had to do was type the date of the first day of summer and click the red button. After typing the date and clicking the red button, the time machine started flying with great speed towards the sky. Everything was going perfect, and all the kids were ready to enjoy their summer again.
