One week later...

"Yeah I mean we've only spent a few afternoons together but I feel like she's really responding to me," I said, telling Demi about my first client.

We were having a quiet night in, Demi sitting on the end of the couch and me stretched out with my back against her side. It was always so effortlessly comfortable being with Demi like this. I savoured the moments when we could be together like this in private; Demi not some famous superstar with a rep to protect but just a beautiful girl who I was very much in love with.

"That's so awesome babe," Demi said, playing with my hair as we chatted. "Though it doesn't surprise me at all. I knew you'd be great at it."

"You're too good to me Dem."

"You make it easy. What with you being so beautiful, kind, loving and understanding. That means more to me than you know."

"Of course. You know I just want you to be happy right? I love that you're living your dream and if that means I have to share you for the next forty years then so be it."

"Alright but after that, when we're old grannies on rocking chairs, I'm all yours," Demi joked.

Despite it being a joke I let the comforting smile overtake the curve of my lips. I nuzzled into her touch, still relishing the feeling of her nails grazing my scalp in continuous motion.

"Hey babe, I know we're pretty comfy..." I began to which Demi hummed her confirmation, "but while we're young and mobile I could really go some ice cream right about now."

I looked up at her, blinking sweetly.

"As if I could ever resist those puppy dog eyes," Demi chuckled.

Demi and I walked closely next to each other, enjoying the cool breeze of the evening. We heard hushed voices behind us and it was pretty clear we were the focus of their attention.

"That's her Gabby, I swear," one girl said.

"You can tell from behind?" The other girl asked incredulously.

"Trust me," the first one said. "See for yourself...hey excuse me."

Demi and I both turned around, coming face to face with two teenage girls, a few years younger than us. They looked like Demi's regular fans; dressed rock n roll cool and with an edge of badass attitude to them.

"It is you," the first girl spoke and I smiled.

"Hi," Demi said, extending her hand before noticing the girls weren't looking at her.

I looked at Demi and couldn't help but chuckle when she realised. A blush immediately crept over her cheeks; she wasn't used to this.

"Gabby this is Grace, she's been the one helping me get back on my feet. Grace, this is my friend Gabby," one of my clients from work, Jules, explained.

"Nice to meet you Gabby," I said, "Jules has told me a fair bit about you over the past week."

"Oh yeah," Gabby said brushing it off before a cheeky grin pulled at her lips, "she's told me a bit about you too...I understand why she speaks so highly of you now," the girl praised, looking me up and down and giving Jules a playful dig with her elbow.

"Oh uhh..." I cleared my throat, suddenly feeling awkward. "Well this is probably a good time to introduce my girlfriend. Girls this is Demi," I said motioning for her in to join the conversation.

"Hey," the girls said in unison, only briefly glancing Demi's way.

Demi was very quiet as I wrapped up conversation with Jules and Gabby; Jules giving me a hug when we said our goodbyes. The girls walked off ahead of us and I began to continue on the walk towards the ice cream store before I realised I was walking alone. Turning back I saw Demi still standing there, eyebrow raised as our eyes met.

"What?" I asked with a chuckle escaping.

"Nothing...turns out I'm not the only one with fans is all," Demi smirked.
