The Champions Ball – Part One: The Knighting Ceremony

At the Shadowmanes' palace, everyone inside was busily rushing about; setting up the proper decorations and preparing the Great Hall for the upcoming celebration. Servants were readying the tables, the musicians were prepping their instruments and all of the food was being set out for the feast ahead (that is to say, most of it was.) While all of these preparations were going on, the Champions and those with them were bringing some of the newest guests up to speed on everything that had happened up to now.

Needless to say; by the end of the tale, not one of them knew what to think or say next. Then, after what felt like ages of silence; Coby turned towards Luffy and asked if everything in the story was true. Of course, the young lad in question couldn't quite answer him right away; due to having several pieces of meat stuffed within his cheeks. As such, some of his crewmates decided to answer for him.

"I know it's a lot to take in uh...Coby" Usopp said uneasily, still feeling unsure of how to address the young marine; "but we've seen it all happen with our own eyes." No sooner had he said all this, the remaining Straw Hats all expressed similar words of affirmation. Yet even with so many people claiming they'd witnessed their captain's feats for themselves, Coby still felt uncertain about it all.

It was here that the group was suddenly greeted by the elf prince, Gabriel; who appeared to be dressed in exquisitely regal garments. "Pardon me, if I could just interject for a moment" he said politely, "if you desire proof, I shall give it to you." Before anyone had the chance to question him on his words, Gabriel reached into his pocket and brought forth a small Seeing Stone crystal.

Then, he held it out towards the group and waved his hand over it. Soon, the jewel started to emanate a radiant blue glow; causing everyone to gasp in awe at its alluring colors. But while this was a beautiful sight, some within the group felt that the prince might have been distracting them.

"Patience, everyone; patience" Gabriel said with a light grin, "all will be revealed in just a moment." The instant he said these words, the Seeing Stone's glow started pulsating brightly until something came bursting out from within it. At first glance, it looked as though Gabriel had summoned a series of lights; which (while pretty to behold) felt rather lacking.

Then, mere seconds later; the crowd noticed that the lights were starting to take form. At first, all of the shapes appeared unrecognizable until Sadie claimed that one of them started to resemble "a huge bird." "Your assumption is...partially correct, Madam" King Thaylog said with a light chuckle, "but 'tis not a bird your champions are facing, it is a Gryphon."

This revelation created a mixed response of shocked outcries and confused murmuring, which the lads' all felt seemed amusingly familiar. Many of the group had not heard of griffins before, let alone seen one; just as they had. Thus, they couldn't help but fear for the lads' safety when they saw the light image attacking fiercely.

"Magna Draconis...simply astounding" gasped a dragon racer Phistus, "and you're telling us that Artha and his friends here all faced off against that beast...and survived?" Without missing a beat; Beast Boy turned towards the crowd and said "we wouldn't be sitting here havin' a snack, if we didn't...am I right?" Surprisingly, this comment managed to generate a slight chuckle from the crowd of newcomers; particularly, some of Beast Boy's fellow Titans.

"But in all seriousness, that was just the first trial in the contest" Danny said matter-of-factly, "the rest of 'em were just as hard...some even harder." The instant Danny said these words, several people started to crowd around him and his fellow champions; all begging them to tell the story of their achievements. "Please, Steven; tell us the story" a wee Ice Gem named Larimar begged, "how did you survive the Gryphon without your powers?"

Not long after this question was presented, other Gemfolk started asking about the contest's other trials; which almost overwhelmed Steven, to say the least. At the same time, the other young champions found themselves in a similar situation. But thankfully, their friends were there to help maintain order.

Firstly; Steven saw the likes of Lion, Spinel and even Jasper stand before him and forming a sort of defensive barrier. Then, Walker's ghost guards formed another line in front of Danny; much to the ghost boy's initial surprise. Finally, with the aid of her magic; Raven created a mystical barrier around the young lads.

But regardless of whichever one proved the most effective, these defensives all achieved the same goal; it helped calm the rabble down. Afterwards, Robin and Cyborg stepped out before the crowd and helped maintain proper crowd control. "Okay, people; don't crowd them" the cyber-teen champion said firmly, "the guys will answer any questions you've got...just approach them one at a time."

While many of the newcomers felt unsure if they should listen to the strange looking lad; some, like the Maheswarans and others, were more than willing to comply. "Here's my first question, boys" murmured Valerie's father, Damon; "were you the ones who caused all those tears that appeared up in the sky earlier?" "As if they were expecting this, the lads all shook their heads "no" and said that the villains were the ones responsible for the incident.

"Me next, how were you able to do all those trials without your powers" questioned Bumblebee, "I mean...holding your own against a Gryphon could be easy, if you're a skilled fighter but climbing a mountain or fighting...well, yourselves; that's just unreal!" Instead of having any of the lads answer this question, King Thaylog decided to do so; thinking he could help properly explain certain matters. "Superhuman power or skills are not what makes one a hero" he stated, "it is the passion, sense of determination and unyielding spirit they have within them."

Almost immediately, Queen Elbenor chimed in and proclaimed that all six of the lads exhibited the very qualities her husband had described. "After seeing what that crystal thing of yours showed us, Ma'am; we may be inclined to believe you" a teenager named Buck Dewey chuckled, "but...there's just one thing I don't get, why put yourselves through all of that stuff and almost get killed in the end?"

For a moment or so, not one of the lads answered his inquiry; feeing that their response might seem rather...petty. However, Otto decided to do so for them; openly revealing that Gabriel would have them knighted, if they were successful. "Wait...did you say knighted" Jinx muttered in disbelief, "like you'd get swords, shields, armor...that kind of thing?"

Without hesitation, each of the boys responded with a soft yet enthusiastic yes but confessed that such a reward was but a "small perk." "Thing is, after the first few trials...it didn't really matter all for that much" Beast Boy stated, "by then, we just..." Before the young changeling could speak much further, an Elf guard arrived and informed the king that "Sellion was ready to begin."

"Splendid news, indeed and on schedule as well" Thaylog chortled merrily, "come with us, lads; we must have you prepared for the ceremony." Luffy let out a soft moan of disapproval, protesting that he'd yet to finish eating his slab of meat. But the Shadowmanes insisted that he and the other six lads prepare themselves accordingly for the ceremony.

"You must look presentable for the ball, my friends" Gabriel stated, "then, once you've all been knighted; you shall all eat and celebrate like kings!" In the blink of an eye, Luffy's earlier annoyed expression gave way to a smile; which led to him letting out a hearty laugh at this news. "Eat like kings, huh" he murmured, "well, I am the Pirate King; so, I expect you to keep that promise! HA-HA-HA!"

The Straw Hats and their allies couldn't help but sigh at this statement, in spite of themselves. But this was not done out of annoyance or anger; in truth, it was more of a playful way of saying "some things never change." Without any further delay, the lads were all led out of the feast hall by the Shadowmanes; leaving their friends and family behind to relax.

During that time, they resumed in telling the newcomers about what transpired during the remainder of the contest. After which, many of them were left utterly stunned; while others required proof that their achievements were real. In the end; the newcomers now had a full understanding on everything and they were quite impressed, to say the least.

"Amazing...from what you've told us, Straw Hat's been put through the proverbial wringer" Tashigi giggled, "yet he seems like his usual self again." Not too far away, her fellow marines echoed similar words of praise; which left them feeling quite surprised. "How...How does he do it" Smoker said softly, "how is Straw Hat or any of those other young boys able to keep on smiling after everything they've been through?"

The instant that this was all said, everyone suddenly tensed up; which led Smoker to believe he had offended them. But all too quickly, Garnet gave a smile and assured the man that he did no such thing. "The truth is...for most of the boys, things are a touch more complex than you realize" she explained, "but you are right about one thing, it astounds me how they can still find a glimmer of joy to cling onto; in spite of their past experiences."

Smoker, Tashigi, Coby and all their fellow Marines stared blankly at the permafusion; unsure of what to respond to her "mildly cryptic" words. Then, at that moment; Princess Elyon urged them all to join her on some last minute preparations for the ball. "Sure, we can help you out" Greg said kindly, "you just tell us all what to do and we'll do it."

No sooner had the man said all of this, several other adults and their comrades all sounded off in agreement. Then, a collection of bitter groans suddenly rang out from close by. At first, folk believed that someone might have been in need of medical help.

But all too quickly, they discovered it was only the other members of Moordryd's Dragon Eye crew; who all protested against having to work on "a party for Stable Brat." "Tough luck, young man" Dr. Maheswaran said firmly at Cain's direction, "after everything you boys and Moordryd have done...seems like some form of punishments are in order." Once more, the racers started shouting out in protest; this time reminding everyone that Capt. Faier already had punishments in mind for them on their return to Dragon City.

Then, after listening to his friends' collective whining for too long; Moordryd approached the group and demanded that they stop. "Look...the lady's right, we all have done our fair share of bad behavior for too long" he murmured, "it's time the Dragon Eyes start doing something good for once." With that statement made, Moordryd ordered his team/friends to head over and lend a hand with the party preparations.

To say that Connor and the children were all shocked by this display would be putting it all mildly, to say the least. Finally, after a while; Lance gazed upwards at Moordryd and offered up the kindest of smiles. "I knew it, I knew you were a good guy" he said emphatically, "I just wish my brother was here to see what you did!"

At first, Moordryd felt the urge to glare down at the young lad and tell him to not become accustomed to his new behavior. But after a while, he let out an exasperated groan and ruffled Lance's hair; proclaiming that he truly was right. "I'm quite impressed with you, Moordryd" Connor said proudly, "I guess we can consider this the first step towards...redeeming yourself for everything you've done."

In response to this, Moordryd simply gave a light scoff and led his crew to the far side of the room; where they started helping set up banners on the wall. Both the Penn Racing Team and their fellow riders couldn't help but stare at the lad, coming to the agreement that he seemed "near impossible to read." "C'mon, he ain't that bad" Amethyst chuckled, "you should've seen Jasper before she 'begrudgingly' decided to attend Little Home School, back in my world."

Not too far away; the aforementioned Gem, who chose to lean nonchalantly up against the wall, simply scoffed at her fellow Quartz's words. But Amethyst couldn't help but smile at this, regardless; thinking that Jasper did not make any attempt to say or do anything to prove she was wrong.

(Line Break)

Hours flew by and the time had finally arrived, the grand ball. All around the room, creatures from the farthest corners of the realm could be seen; mingling with fellow guests, dancing or doing anything possible to snatch a few pieces of food from the banquet table. Of course, whenever folk attempted to do just that; they were immediately stopped by Princess Elyon.

"Patience, my friends...patience" she insisted in a firm yet kind tone, "we shall eat soon but not until your friends have returned." While they all respected the princess' wishes, those like Amethyst or Tucker felt as though they had been waiting for what felt like ages for the boys' return. "I agree, just what is taking them so long" White Diamond asked while smoothing out her cloak, "I hope nothing bad has happened."

The Crystal Gems all cast their eyes up at the former Gem ruler of Homeworld and stared at her with baffled expressions. After battling her for five-thousand years, it was still difficult getting used to her showing genuine emotion or concern for others. At the same time, Connie took White Diamond by her hand and gave it a tender pat; assuring her that Steven was fine.

"I believe you, child...I truly do" White murmured, "but after everything we've seen and everything Steven had faced, I can't help but worry!" This statement caused Connie's mother to give out a soft laugh, before she proclaimed that the Gem was starting to behave like a real mother. At that moment, the palace doors opened up; thus causing a triumphant fanfare to play.

Upon hearing the music, all eyes turned towards the doorway; where they saw two figures making their way inside. The first to enter was Bismuth, who appeared to be dressed in what she called her "ceremonial wedding armor." At her side was what appeared to be what looked like a middle-aged elf (in the eyes of some.) He had long black hair with small traces of grey, wore a brown apron around his body (which covered up his clothing underneath,) a pair of black boots and his hair appeared be tied up into a ponytail.

Straightaway, Franky deduced that the fellow must have been the kingdom's blacksmith and Princess Donella decreed that his assumption proved correct. "Of course, he is more than just a blacksmith" she stated, "he is also...my father." This revelation left many people utterly shocked; Sam, the Gems and the Maheswarans in particular.

By professing that the blacksmith was her father, it thus revealed that she was once a "commoner" amongst her people; before marrying the prince. "Back home, the idea of royals associating with 'common folk' was often 'unheard of'" Sam murmured in disbelief, "at least, that's what the history books claim." Donella chuckled softly at these words, informing the young teenager that her people were well aware of such social divisions.

"However, as you've all seen; my Gabriel isn't like the royals of your lands" she stated, "when we first met as children by random chance, he did not care about my place in the village...he simply cared about me for who I was." Upon taking these words to heart, Connie soon found herself gazing over towards Steven; who was now a few feet away from her position. As she watched him approach, her mind suddenly thought back to when they first met as children.

O, if Connie were able meet with her past self; she would, no doubt be astounded by how different the two of them were. Before meeting either Steven or the Gems, she was still a rather intelligent and kind young lass. But at the same time; she was also once a quiet, spent most of her time studying and was overall a rather timid young lady who feared she might not find her own place in the world.

But now; she was braver, bolder, more capable and an equal member to the Crystal Gems. In truth; all of this would not have been possible, had Connie and Steven not crossed paths on the shores of Beach City. "You know something, Your Highness" she murmured with a blissful sigh, "I think I might know exactly what you mean?"

No sooner had Connie said all this, she noticed Steven and the rest of the lads moving past her. It was here that she noticed that Steven was wearing a magnificent suit of armor. In terms of design, it seemed near identical to that of Bismuth's suit of "wedding armor." But Steven's own suit was decorated in a magnificent color scheme of pink and blue; perhaps, to match the colors of his usual attire.

At the center of his chest plate, everyone immediately took notice of his iconic star symbol. His helm was the right size and shape of the lad's head, the visor was a beautiful aqua blue color, he wore a pair of steel gauntlets that bore the same color type and on his back, Steven sported a cloak; one that seemed to bear a resemblance to the Crystal Gem flag. In the eyes of the Gems, their Steven had truly become a hero of his own; just as he always hoped.

But in the eyes of those like Connie, Greg, Lars and even Lion; they felt he was still the same Steven they all loved. Next was Beast Boy/Garfield, whose own suit of armor was designed to match that of the Elven warriors of the Royal Guard. However, the main difference between them was the color scheme Garfield chose for his suit; which was quite the same as his new hero uniform (red and white.)

After that, the folk of Amity Park watched as Danny made his way towards the throne. Unlike Beast Boy's suit, his armor showed off a sort of black and silver-grey color scheme. The visor of his helmet was snow white, as were the fingers of his gauntlets.

The wrist areas of said gauntlets were pitch black, he wore a pair of steel boots with black tips, his right shoulder pad bore his iconic "DP" emblem while the left one appeared slightly pointed. His chest plate also showed off his hero emblem, there were strips of green on the sides of his armor's legs and on his back, everyone saw a magnificent white cloak flowing behind Danny. The next to pass was Luffy; who, to say the least, appeared to be the most...uniquely dressed.

Instead of wearing a standard suit of knight's armor, he appeared to be dressed in something that had elements of that mixed with those of a Samurai warrior's armor. When someone asked why Luffy preferred this sort of look, Donella was the first to offer up an explanation. "Master Luffy informed both Bismuth and my father that he...wasn't fully certain on what a knight typically wears, strange as it may sound" she stated, "but as a substitute, he suggested the idea of making armor that reminded him of the Samurai warriors of Wano."

Before anyone could question her words, Princess Donella further explained that the suit itself was made of steel like that of a typical knight's (as in those from the Human World's Medieval Europe,) it was designed to look near similar to that of a Japanese Samurai's suit. "In any case, what matters is that it resembles who Luffy is as a warrior" Robin said with a soft giggle, "something that seems both outlandish...yet magnificent at the same time." Upon taking another look at their captain's armor style, each of the Straw Hats smiled softly and confessed that their friend made a very valid point (as per usual.)

Artha's suit was truly a sight to behold, when everyone saw him pass by next. It was unlike anything his friends, father or even Moordryd had ever seen before. The helm was shaped slightly to resemble a dragon's head, the shoulder pads were slightly covered in spikes (as were Artha's gauntlets,) the collar of Artha's cloak seemed to resemble a pair of dragon wings and the plating itself looked as though it was made of...scales.

On the one hand, the lad's human comrades all felt he looked both impressive yet intimidating in this new look. But on the other hand, their dragon companions looked upon the suit with mild contempt but no one knew why. As if sensing this, Bismuth turned towards the group and assured them this wasn't her handiwork.

"Indeed, Master Artha's suit was crafted by some of the finest smithies within Emperor Porthos' home of Sahsun" Sellion added, "every part of it is made from the finest dragon scales in the realm." As expected, this revelation left many feeling quite shocked and disgusted but Bismuth swiftly put their fears to rest. "Hold up, y'all...it ain't like that" she assured, "turns out, the dragons actually give their scales away to people."

While the Gem smithy's words did help put everyone's worries slightly at ease, those like Sam or Chopper still felt quite confused. It was here that Sellion reminded everyone about the gifts the dragons of the realm bestowed upon the Dragoon people. "Among these gifts was that of offering their cast-off scales" he stated, "with the right amount of skill, ingenuity and imagination; such a material could be reused or remade into something entirely new...like Armor, in this instance."

While the idea of wearing material made from the skin of a creature still displeased her immensely, she couldn't help but think that Artha looked rather impressive. The last to pass by was Chiro, who appeared to be dressed in a standard suit of steel armor. His helmet sported a beautiful red tail/plume, the chain mail around his neck bore an orange color and the sides of his helm bore small streaks of orange; which matched those of his Hyperforce mask.

Truly, each one of the lads looked quite inspiring in their new garb and some among their ranks of friends felt particularly...captivated by them. "Wow, Steven looks incredible in this look" Connie gasped in awe, "and the others look pretty nice too." In spite of themselves; Raven, Sam, Kitt and even Nami suddenly murmured in agreement with her.

When she saw the heated blush on each of the ladies' faces, Connie couldn't help but giggle a little under her breath. Meanwhile, others who noticed the ladies' expressions chose to laugh just a little more heartily. "Hey, guys; check out the doughy-eyed look on Nami's face" Amethyst chortled, "looks like somebody's got a crush!"

In an instant, Nami suddenly snapped out of her daze and gave the wee Quartz the fiercest of stares...but Amethyst remained undeterred. "Scowl all you want, girly" she said smugly, "but you know I'm telling the truth." Before Nami had the chance to make any sort of rebuttal, Garnet appeared behind her and proclaimed she also knew the truth; courtesy of her "Future Vision."

"More specifically; in spite of everything that's happened, I still foresee a good life between you and your captain" she said with a soft grin, "that is...if certain plans go accordingly for him." At first, Nami felt inclined to question Garnet on what sort of "plans" Luffy had up his sleeve. But instead, she chose to further insist that there was nothing between her and Luffy. "Same with me and Gar...er, I mean Beast Boy" Raven said firmly, "I mean...the very thought of him and me together is...i-is just unheard of!"

Once more, Garnet let out a chuckle and confessed a similar idea was felt between not only her two halves; Ruby and Sapphire...but all of Homeworld as well. "But Ruby's impulsive actions, all those years ago completely changed things around" she said sweetly, "so, you see; much like you and Garfield...my counterparts are the very embodiment of opposites attract!" Again, Nami and Raven made an attempt to argue the impossibility of them being with Garfield and Luffy...but they couldn't think of any other kind of rebuttal.

With every attempt they had to try and think up a counter argument to Amethyst's claims, the ladies couldn't think of anything that seemed remotely believable. "I just...I dunno" Nami grumbled, "I mean, I can't be with him; he's my captain...my big, fun...adorable CAPTAIN!" With that final word, the young Navigator suddenly found herself overwhelmed with emotion; causing her to fall to her knees and cry loudly.

The instant he heard this, Sanji was prepared to immediately rush to her side. But instead, Luffy broke away from his fellow champions and got to her instead. "Hey...Nami, what's wrong; why are you crying" he whispered softly, "did you get hurt, did somebody upset you...'cause if they did, I'M GONNA..." Before he had he chance to finish his statement, Luffy suddenly felt Nami throw herself into his arms and hold him tight; forcing him to hold his tongue.

All eyes fell upon Nami, as she buried her face into her captain's chest and sobbed. She remained like this for almost a full minute until Luffy gently moved Nami away from him and looked into her eyes. "Come on, tell me what's wrong" he urged softly, "you know how much it hurts me to see you cry."

As she watched Luffy gently stroke a tear off of her cheek, Nami's mind was suddenly flooded with images of the past. While most of them consisted of times where her captain almost drove her up the wall, there were just as many that showed how devoted of a friend and captain he was. It was these very memories that caused Nami's heart to ache so painfully but she didn't know how to tell him.

But just as she was about to discuss the matter, Gabriel soon approached Luffy from behind and urged him to return to the rest of the group. "You will be able to commune with your friends in time, Master Luffy" he stated, "but first...we must begin the ceremony." With that said, Gabriel took Luffy by the arm and guided him back to his fellow champions.

Of course, the young lad couldn't help but peek over his shoulder and sneak a glance at Nami; who seemed to be in a much calmer state now. "I swear, once all this is over; I've gotta clear the air with my crew" Luffy thought, "among other things."

(Line Break)

After the champions had all regrouped before the four thrones, King Thaylog stood up and saluted the crowd before him. This caused everyone to momentarily cease their chattering and focus on the situation at hand. "Greetings friends, family, allies and visitors from beyond this realm" the elf king said in greeting, "on behalf of my family, I bid you welcome to our first ever Champions' Ball!"

The crowd cheered loudly with joy, all feeling honored and grateful to take part in such an occasion. Among those cheering the loudest were the Fentons, who appeared to have coated their faces with paint colors that matched Danny's own. Of course; the lad in question saw this as both a humorous, embarrassing and mildly flattering display.

The Crystal Gems, the Straw Hats, Coby, Garp and others also decided to show their support with equal fervor. After a while, the Shadowmanes politely gestured for everyone to calm themselves; which they did. "Before they came here, my family only knew of these six younglings through tales written within the books of the Royal Archives" Queen Elbenor confessed, "as such, this is what I thought they were...mere beings of fiction or legend."

There was a light yet sarcastic chuckle heard from most of the crowd; particularly those from the Human Realms, who all agreed that the queen's words sounded humorously ironic. "Now, my worldview has changed completely" Elbenor stated, "these six lads have truly proven themselves to be just as astounding as their tales described...perhaps, more so." While these compliments were initially flattering, the lads couldn't help but grimace slightly from them.

But the Shadowmanes still continued to praise them, commending their success during the Hero Trials not so long ago. "Because of these victories and those they've had in each of their respective realms, my family and I wish to honor them" Gabriel stated, "thus...it is with great pride that this night, we begin this ball with a knighting ceremony." With that said, the Shadowmanes reached towards their hips and each drew out a ceremonial sword.

For a brief moment, some amongst the lads' allies presumed that they were about to be executed. But then, Fright Knight appeared and said that there was nothing to be concerned about. "Daniel and the others are in no danger" he stated, "this is all part of the ceremony."

Understandably; those like Spinel, the Diamonds and the Off-Colors all questioned what the Shadowmanes intended to do with their weapons. Rather than answer them, Fright Night simply told them to keep calm and watch them closely. "Alright, Mr. Creepy; we'll watch" Sparx murmured, "but if anything happens to the kids, somebody's goin' down!"

With that; everyone did their best to calm themselves, once more and turned their focus back towards the ceremony. "Now, gentlemen; let us begin" King Thaylog said softly, "please...take a knee." Upon hearing this request, Luffy's face contorted into a sort of befuddled expression before he started staring down at his legs. Before anyone could ask what he was doing, the lad proceeded to ask which knee he needed to take; stating that he "needed both to stand."

"No, Mr. Luffy; not like that" Greg shouted from the crowd, "they're all asking you to 'take a knee,' which is just a fancy way of saying they want you to kneel." After only five seconds of letting these words sink in, Luffy finally understood the request and thanked Mr. Universe for his clarification. Afterwards, he and the other lads all got down on one knee and bowed their heads slightly; asking the Shadowmanes to proceed.

The first to start was King Thaylog, who first approached Danny with his blade in hand. "Daniel James Fenton of Amity Park, Minnesota; alias Danny Phantom" he began, "though you may not be equal to your sister's level of intellect; you have still shown great skills, focus, cunning and resourcefulness...both during the trials in this realm and your own." Once more, Danny found himself blushing profusely; perhaps feeling humbled by the elf king's words.

Then, he suddenly felt a light tap against both of his shoulders; which turned out to be Thaylog touching him with his sword. "In honor of these traits; I, King Thaylog grant you this title" he decreed, "stand and be recognized...Sir Daniel the Clever, the Phantom Knight." As the young hero rose to his feet and presented himself before the crowd; he could see his parents, elder sister and clone/"little sister" (Danielle) using all their willpower to keep themselves from crying.

Meanwhile, Valerie and her father smiled at Danny with great pride; feeling genuinely happy for his success. Tucker wasted no time using his PDA to capture a photo of Danny in his new look. As for Sam; unlike the Fentons, she had no shame in shedding a few small tears of joy for her lover.

Danny smiled softly at everyone's reactions towards his reward but...at the same time, a small thought was relentlessly nagging at him; one he intended to address later. In the meantime, Queen Elbenor mimicked her husband's actions and approached another of the champions with her own blade in hand. "Now, then...Monkey D. Luffy of Foosha Village, King of the Pirates of the All Blue" she stated, "you have shown us all great feats of incredible strength in body, spirit and especially the mind."

Using the power of a Seeing Stone, the elf queen showed everyone all the moments before and during the trials of Luffy's legacy; all of which revolved around him showing his unique sense of strength. "In battle, you've fought valiantly; even when you appeared on the verge of death" she said grimly, "but outside of that; you have also shown a great sense of loyalty, support and dedication toward anything and anyone you hold most dear." Here, Elbenor used the stone to show the crowd every instant Luffy used his fortitude to defend those in need; even such moments that made him appear..."bull-headed."

"Such unyielding spirit and strength are the marks of a great champion" the elf queen said with pride, "thus, it is only fitting that henceforth; you shall forever be known as...Sir Luffy the Strong." Beads of confused sweat dropped from the brows of the Straw Hats and their allies, who all agreed that while it seemed fitting; Luffy's knightly title felt...a touch too on the nose. Meanwhile, the lad in question didn't seem to care about such things; instead, he hooted and hollered with great joy at his newfound warrior title.

This display caused Nami to sweat even greater, not out of confusion but of exasperation. It seemed that no matter what, even during ceremonies like this; her captain always found a way to make a scene. Of course, after looking at how happy Luffy was and realizing what the celebration was initially about; she decided to let this behavior slide...but only for one night.

"Next, we come to Master Chiro of Shuggazoom" announced Princess Donella, "throughout the hero trials and his battles against the evil forces of his own universe; he has shown great courage, leadership skills and above all, perseverance in the face of adversity." Soon, much like had her kin had done moments before, the princess used the power of the Seeing Stone to show everyone the many feats Chiro had achieved; both before and during the trials. Many recoiled in disgust at the many alien beasts the lad and his primate compatriots battled against.

But it was the forces of the team's greatest foe, the Skeleton King, whom the crowd found the most frightful. "For sometime; Master Chiro and the Hyperforce have withstood the forces of evil, defended the peoples from worlds not their own and safeguarded the lives of their home on Shuggazoom" Princess Donella exclaimed, "such moments truly represent the unyielding determination and courage all warriors strive to display." Once all this was said, she lightly tapped her blade upon Chiro's shoulder one final time and announced his new title for all to hear; Sir Chiro the Brave.

In response; the crowd cheered loudly with approval, especially the citizens of Shuggazoom City themselves. "Nice work, my boy" shouted a man named Mr. Gackslapper, "knight or not, you'll always be our hero!" Many others among Shuggazoom's people and their allies shouted words of equal approval, after that; even a few people Chiro didn't expect. "Way to go, squirt" shouted a boy named B.T., "we always knew you could do it!"

Beside him, another boy named Glenny also sung Chiro's praises but the Hyperforce all wondered if they were truly genuine. Meanwhile, Jinmay clapped and cheered happily for the lad; which ultimately caused him to blush deeply. Once the crowd had calmed down once more, Prince Gabriel approached a kneeling Artha and tapped his blade upon both of the lad's shoulders.

"Artha Penn of Dragon City, you have achieved many things in spite of many...unforeseen circumstances" the elf prince stated, "your home was ransacked, your father had been (seemingly) taken from you, you became the legendary Dragon Booster and have done all you could to live up to that title." Once more, the Seeing Stone shined bright and images of Artha's deeds from his universe soon appeared above the crowd's heads. They saw him survive against a massive beast known as Libris, his first venture within the Shadow Track, successfully leading other racers into making the Leap of Lorius and many other achievements.

These alongside his actions during the trials left many stunned in an awed silence. "Your actions in both your own realm and during the trials all exemplify quickness of the body, of the mind and above all, the spirit" Gabriel stated, "thus, it is with great pride that I hereby name you...Sir Artha the Swift; the Dragon Knight." This proclamation caused both his friends and allies to cheer wildly with joy, while their dragons simply roared loudly with equal fervor.

Meanwhile, Artha stood silently in place for what felt like (to him) ages; as if contemplating his newly given title. "Artha the Swift...that actually sounds like a pretty drac name" he thought to himself, "and it looks like Beau thinks so too." As he stood there lost in thought, Artha didn't seem to notice all the odd glances everyone appeared to be giving him.

When he finally did take notice of them, the lad let out a sheepish chuckle and stepped aside. Afterwards, the princess Elyon approached Steven with a small scepter in her hand. While everyone already knew what was about to take place, it did not stop some members of Steven's allies from feeling...rather apprehensive.

Pearl was the first among them to behave this way, of course; then Spinel, the Diamonds and (rather surprisingly) Jasper. "Calm down, everybody" Connie urged slightly, "Steven is in no danger...this is all part of the knighting ceremony, just like Fright Knight said earlier." After receiving just a little reassurance from the Shadowmanes, Steven's compatriots finally decided to lower their guard.

But then, Lion warned that if any harm came to his friend; there would be tragic consequences. "It's okay, you guys; I'm fine" Steven chuckled, "now...please, let's move this along; I'm starting to lose feeling in my knee!" The whole crowd laughed loudly at the lad's jest, especially the Gemfolk and their allies; who all felt this was a genuine sign of his old personality resurfacing.

When the ceremony resumed, seconds later; Princess Elyon lightly tapped her scepter upon both of Steven's shoulders and on the top of his head. "Steven Quartz Universe of the Crystal Gems, Son of Rose Quartz/Pink Diamond and Greg Universe; you have shown unwavering love, kindness, dedication and care towards those closest to you" the princess stated, "even when there were times where your heart almost gave in to despair...you've managed to find your way out of the darkness." While some small part of Steven appreciated the warm words of praise being given, another part couldn't help but cringe with shame.

Thus; as a result, the lad's body language soon became incredibly tense and his breathing seemed erratic. Straightaway, his loved ones knew full well what was happening and took immediate action. After getting Steven's attention, Garnet and Connie suddenly started to hum a soft melody; which the crowd felt sounded quite lovely.

Meanwhile, Steven immediately recognized this as Garnet's song "Here Comes a Thought;" which she sang to both him and Connie long ago. This was meant to help remind the two younglings to take a moment to calm themselves, remind themselves where they fell apart and think of a way to recover. Admittedly, Steven hadn't heard of or even thought of the song since he was a kid.

But at the same time, it proved to be just what he needed to help calm his spirits. After taking a moment to breathe and hum a little of the song to himself, the odd pink glow soon faded away. "Sorry about all that, guys" Steven chuckled softly, "almost had a bit of an...episode there; please, continue."

The Shadowmanes all smiled warmly at him, gave a slight nod of understanding and urged Elyon to resume the ceremony. "In recognition of your love and devotion towards those around you; by the authority vested in me by King Thaylog, I proclaim you...Sir Steven the Merciful" announced the princess, "stand and be recognized." Without a second thought, Steven slowly rose to his feet and faced the crowd with a smile; causing all of the Beach City citizens to cheer wildly.

As for the Gems, they were all weeping wildly with joy...save for Jasper, who chose to keep up her fierce façade. But ever so discretely, she still showed her approval by giving the lad a proud smirk and a "thumb's up" of approval. Finally, the time had come for Beast Boy to receive his knighthood.

At first glance, his expression appeared rather stoic and calm but his fellow Titans knew the truth. On the inside, Garfield was leaping and bounding with joy; feeling beyond excited for his shining moment. But on the outside, the lad did all that he could to remain in control; choosing to only give a small yet anxious grin.

"Garfield Logan, Son of Mark and Maria Logan; I must confess something to you" Gabriel murmured sheepishly, "out of all of you, your knightly title was the one we had the most difficulty in choosing." Before anyone had the chance to question the prince on his words, he politely urged the crowd to grant him and his family moment to explain themselves; which they did.

"This may sound confusing to many of you" Gabriel confessed, "but the reason we struggled in deciding your title is because...we've yet to find one that best represented you." After taking the Seeing Stone in hand; he, like the rest of his family, began to show everyone the many feats Beast Boy had accomplished (both within Overon and beyond it.) He spoke of the unyielding faith and kindness he openly shared others, no matter who they were.

In honor of this, they Shadowmanes considered naming Beast Boy "Sir Garfield the Loyal." In recognition for his unbridled optimism and his humorous nature, they've considered naming him "Sir Garfield the Whimsical." They also considered giving him the title of Garfield the Unyielding, in honor of his perseverance against the many struggles he endured throughout his life.

"I trust you understand our dilemma, yes" inquired King Thaylog, "then...my son was suddenly struck by inspiration!" The instant the elf king made this proclamation, many among the guests begged to hear the Shadowmanes' decision on Beast Boy's epithet. "In recognition of your heroic qualities, your achievements in the trial and your actions in defending the realm from invaders; it is with great pride that I hereby proclaim you...Sir Garfield the Noble" announced Gabriel, "for it is the one title that we felt best embodies your own identity as a knight."

For a brief moment, Beast Boy was unsure of how to respond to this; just as his fellow heroes did. Then, after giving the name some thought; his iconic Cheshire Cat grin appeared and the lad chuckled giddily. "I really like the sound of that" he stated proudly, "'Garfield the Noble...,' kind of reminds me of lions a little."

In response to this, Gabriel informed Beast Boy that such a title truly was affiliated with not only lions but also those who "possessed the heart of one." "Yup that's BB alright" Cyborg exclaimed from the crowd, "he may not look it...but he's certainly proved he's as strong as a lion!" Mere seconds after this was said, all the other Titans cheered loudly in agreement; which caused Beast Boy to softly blush.

After a while, the cheering subsided; which allowed the Shadowmanes to continue with the ceremony. For the next phase, the time had come for each lad to receive their weapons and shields. "Um...You don't need to worry about that, where I'm concerned" Steven informed, "I've already got a shield, which also happens to function as my weapon."

To prove his point, he held up his arm and summoned forth his light shield. But much to both Steven and the Gems' surprise, it looked completely different than it did before. While the shield did retain its usual circular shape, instead of the spiral of thorns and a rose; there was now a magnificent golden star at the center.

"What the...what happened to my shield" Steven murmured confusedly, "why does it look so different now?" Rather than answer him; Gabriel claimed that "all would be revealed, in time." "You are correct, however" he stated, "your powers and shield are all appropriate weapons...which is why we have something else to offer you."

After saying this, the elf prince gave a wave to a pair of guards standing to the left of him. As one of them made his way towards Steven, everyone noticed that the guard held a small pillow in his outstretched arms. Upon this pillow was what looked like a small Gjallarhorn, which was a sort of ancient Viking sounding horn.

But while most of them were made from the horns of cattle, this particular one was bejeweled and crafted from the finest silver. As Gabriel took the item in hand, he bowed his head low to Steven and presented it to him. "I offer you this Horn of Summoning, Sir Steven" he stated, "all you need do is focus on who you wish to contact and the instant you blow this horn, no matter where they might be...your calls shall be heard."

As Gabriel placed the horn into Steven's hands, the lad stared down at it; unsure of what to think or feel about this gift. Then, he looked over his shoulder and noticed Lars; who was dressed in his familiar Space Captain cape and uniform. Upon seeing the smile he was giving him, Steven couldn't help but do the same.

"So...let me see if I understand you correctly, Your Highness" the young half-gem inquired, "no matter where they are; if I focus hard enough and blow on this horn, they'll appear beside me?" Gabriel stared blankly at the lad for a brief moment and then, he let out a soft chuckle but assured Steven it was not out of mockery. Afterwards, he went on to explain that the true power of the horn was in its tune.

"It matters not if your comrades reside within another part of your Earthly plain, in the farthest reaches of the cosmos or even out on another dimensional plain" Gabriel explained emphatically, "the instant you sound off the horn, your allies will hear you." With these words, Steven now had a full understanding of the gift he was given and thanked the elf prince with a bow of his head. After that, the very next thing the crowd heard was King Thaylog loudly proclaiming "bring forth the armaments."

Then, at that moment; the front doors of the throne room opened and in came a precession of peoples from all over the realm. As they passed by, many of the young champions' allies noticed that some of these people held weapons in their arms while others were carrying shields. "SUUUPER! Those weapons look incredible" Franky exclaimed joyfully, "but...I wonder, who gets which one?"

Coincidentally, his fellow Straw Hats (and just about everyone else standing beside them) all had the same thoughts as well. But they had little time to ponder on them, as the precession finally arrived and knelt before each of their friends. The first to present their gift was Falcore of the High Mystics, which turned out to be a beautiful silver staff.

With his head held low in respect, the old sorcerer presented his weapon to a rather befuddled-looking Danny. "Sir Daniel the Clever; on behalf of my fellow Mystics, I present to you this staff" Falcore said with pride in his voice, "may it serve you well in future battles." Danny snapped back to his senses, after hearing the old man's words and took the weapon from him.

But as he looked over it from point to point, the lad suddenly felt he had been cheated. "With all due respect, Sir; this is a...very well-made staff" Danny said hesitantly, "but...I was thinking you'd give me a real doozy of a weapon, like...like a sword, maybe." The instant he said these words, a startling phenomenon began to occur.

First, the staff started to emanate a bright and almost blinding glow; forcing Danny to shield his eyes. Then, after the light had finally died down; he opened them again and gasped with shock. Much to his surprise; instead of the staff, Danny was holding a magnificent two-handed sword with a blade that measured as long as his arms.

To say that this left everyone utterly dumbfounded would not do the situation proper justice. In truth; no one knew what to say, think or feel about this. However, at the same time; Danny still felt quite amazed by the staff's power.

"I take it you are impressed, young one" chuckled Thaylog, "what you are holding is something the Mystics have chosen to call...the Staff of Deception." The king went on to explain how the enchantment upon the staff allowed the wielder to change it into whatever tool or weapon they desire. "My comrades within the Order felt such a weapon would suit you well" Falcore stated, "given your unique yet otherworldly abilities."

Danny smiled broadly at the description of his new weapon, contemplating on the many possible ways he could use it. "Thank you for this, Master Falcore" he said with the brightest of smiles, "I promise I'll use it well...thank you so much!" The High Mystics grinned slightly at the boy's show of gratitude, bowed their heads and returned back to the line; thus opening the floor for anyone else to approach.

It was here that Drakon made his way over towards Luffy, holding what looked like a large hammer in his arms. The weapon was half Luffy's height, had a magnificently crafted handle but its most astonishing feature was the anvil (or as some would call it, the head.) At first glance, it looked like any typical stone-headed hammering tool from ancient times.

But as Luffy and his crew looked at it more closely, they noticed that the head was giving off an unusual blue glow. "Wow! A hammer that glows, that's pretty cool" the captain said gleefully, "what else does it do?!" Drakon chuckled heartily at Luffy's exuberant behavior and told him that the weapon held far greater value than he realized.

"You see...one night, five Summers ago; a collection of stars were seen shooting across the night skies" the barbarian explained, "then, much to the surprise of my people; one of them fell on the grasslands outside our village" The crowd gasped in shock at this revelation, hoping that no harm befell Drakon's people or their homeland. Upon taking notice of their worried expressions, the chieftain laughed heartily and said all was well.

"No one was hurt and the damage left by the fallen star had mended itself, overtime" he stated, "but that is not important, what matters is the marvelous discovery my Battle Brothers made soon after." From here, Drakon said that his people grew curious about the star that fell onto their territory and they wished to see if it was still in one piece. When they entered the crater it left, not only was the star still fully in tact; it also glistened in the moonlight like...like metal.

"My stars...I think you might be describing a meteorite" Pearl exclaimed, "that's what humans often call these 'falling stars.'" While the Gem's words were informative, many dismissed them immediately and chose to focus on the "metal" Drakon described. "I swear upon my ancestors, everyone when I tell you that my friend speaks the absolute truth" a barbarian warrior named Gareth shouted, "the star glistened in the moonlight like the finest ores imaginable!"

After letting all this information sink in, Luffy silently gazed at the anvil of Drakon's hammer. While on the outside, he appeared as still as the grave; he was leaping and bounding about with excitement, on the inside. Meanwhile, Drakon continued to share his tale with everyone; telling them how he and his "Battle Brothers" chipped away at the fallen meteorite and used the ore to fashion items from it.

"We made tools, armor, shields and of course, weapons of all kinds" he stated, "this hammer in my hands is one of them" In response to this, both Luffy and a few of his fellow Straw Hats shrieked slightly in surprise. Over the years they had sailed together in their search for One Piece, the pirate crew had faced off against many foes; each one utilizing astonishing weapons and abilities.

But never once, in their lives have they heard of the idea of star metal weaponry. With a joyous gleam in his eyes, Luffy turned towards Drakon and asked what made the metal more unique than other materials. "First and foremost, it's one of the strongest metals in this world" the barbarian said with pride, "when fashioned into a blade, it will never dull overtime and it can cut through anything!" After all this, Zoro made a note to pay a visit to the market; hoping that one of the merchants there came across some star metal as well.

While he himself had no skill in blade-making; if he were to meet someone with such skills and requested they forge a blade from the metal, he would have a weapon unlike any other. Meanwhile, Luffy was also intrigued by Drakon's description of the material and asked how strong his hammer was. "While your weapon is impressive, Sir Luffy; it is only a tool" King Thaylog interjected, "and its true strength lies in the hand that wields it."

For a moment or two, Luffy stared at the hammer in his hands in silence; which made his crew assume that he was left stupefied by the Elf King's words. But after testing his grip on the hammer and giving it a brief yet safe swing, a smile soon appeared on Luffy's face. "I think I get what you mean, King Thaylog" he chuckled, "the hammer's only as strong as I am...right?"

At first, everyone felt that Luffy's seemed like a rather oversimplified version of the king's own. But then, Nico Robin smiled slightly and said that it was her captain's own unique way of interpreting things; which her crew often referred to as "Luffy Logic." In any case, the young lad in question had a full understanding of the gift he was given and he thanked Drakon for it with a hearty handshake; which he happily welcomed.

The next one to receive their weapon was Artha; who saw the dragon, Moonscar (in his human form) approach him with a few of his fellow dragons (also in human form) following close behind. As he drew closer, Artha noticed that Moonscar was holding something in his hands. At first glance, it looked like a sword in its scabbard but something inside told the lad that it might be something much more than that.

As Moonscar stood before Artha; he took a knee, bowed his head respectfully and held the blade up to the young knight. "Sir Artha of Dragon City, on behalf of my fellow Dragons; it is with great pride and honor that I present you with this blade" he stated, "fashioned from my own discarded scales long ago...just as your armor is made from the scales of another of my kinfolk." Artha stared at the blade in silent awe, astonished by Moonscar's vivid description.

Then, with trembling hands; he drew it out from the scabbard ever so slowly. When everyone saw the gleam shining off of the sword's golden blade, many were left utterly breathless while others were left partially blinded by the shine. As for Beau and his comrades, they were...slightly unsure of how to react at the idea of a sword made from scales; much like with Artha's suit of armor.

But after remembering that the Dragoons used shedded scales for crafting material, the Penn Racing Team's dragons were willing to overlook the matter...this time. Meanwhile, Moonscar was in the middle of describing how Artha's blade differed from others throughout the realm. "Be it weapons or armor, items fashioned from Dragon scales are light as a feather...but become as strong as diamonds" he stated, "use it well, Sir Artha."

After looking over the weapon for a few more seconds, Artha carefully gave it a few swings; to ensure that wouldn't feel too much for him. Surprisingly, the blade was indeed quite light; just as Moonscar described. This meant that it wouldn't feel too heavy for Artha, should he decide to use it in battle.

"Someone, give me something to cut" he called out to the crowd, "I need to see if this thing's as sharp as Moonscar says." In response to this request, Snowflake Obsidian stepped forward and used her powers to create a tall ice pillar. Afterwards, everyone's eyes suddenly fell upon Artha; waiting for him to make a move with bated breath.

"Remember...the true strength of a weapon is the warrior using it" King Thaylog said suddenly, "focus on your own strengths." Artha nodded slightly in gratitude for the elf king's support, took his new sword in hand and slashed it across the pillar with all his might. To those watching him, the lad's movements seemed so quick that it looked like he hadn't cut through the ice at all.

But then, the pillar suddenly started to tilt to its left and everyone could hear the telltale sounds of ice cracking. Finally, everyone watched in stunned silence as the pillar fell to the ground with a resounding "thump!" To say the least, both Artha and those within the crowd were quite surprised by this.

"Oh, scales...did I do that" he murmured dumbly, "I wasn't even swinging the sword that hard...it must be pretty sharp!" Upon taking a moment to inspect the blade, Artha was amazed to see that not one inch of it had been damaged; even after cutting through solid ice. There were no scratches, no dents, the blade was still strait and no part of it appeared chipped.

"Whoa! This is amazing" Artha gasped in awe, "thank you so much for this, Moonscar; I promise I'll use it wisely." With that said, both he and the dragon shared a respectful bow before the ceremony moved on. Next, a dwarf warrior named Kagan and a collection of his kin approached Chiro; holding what looked like an axe in his hands.

It measured half as tall as him, had a well-crafted handle and the blades did not appear to be made of iron or steel. Instead, they appeared to be made from the finest cuts of diamonds; which many considered to be an impossible idea. "Don't be so sure, you guys" Bismuth chuckled, "in the thousands of years I've made weapons for the Rebellion, I used all kinds of materials...including gemstones."

As expected, this statement left many feeling baffled; while others wondered if the Gem rebels really used their own kind to make weapons. But before they could present their concerns to Bismuth, she held up her hand and silenced them. "Relax, y'all; I didn't use any of my fellow Gems to craft my babies" she assured, "these were gemstones found deep in the earth, the same kind all the humans build mines for."

No sooner had she said all of this, Kagan looked towards Bismuth and proclaimed she "had the spirit of a Dwarf inside of her." After that, handed the axe over to Chiro and kneeled before the lad; his head hanging low with respect. "In all the centuries my kind has toiled within the mines, we have crafted many fine blades" Kagan said with pride, "this axe, in particular is such a weapon; hand-forged from the finest cuts of gemstones and diamonds ever known...wield it well, Sir Knight."

With his eyes wide in amazement, Chiro took the weapon into his hands and gazed at the blade in silent awe. Of course, there was a brief moment where he almost lost his balance from the weight of it. But after ten seconds of slight stumbling, he regained his footing and stood at attention.

As Chiro took a moment to study his new weapon, he was amazed by the rainbow of colors found within the ax's crystalline blade. At the same time, however; he was unsure if there would be any moment where he might use it. More often than not, his powers proved more effective in battle than any weapon.

In the end, Chiro knew how much dedication was put into making his new axe. Therefore, he vowed to use it wisely and as often as he could. "Thank you for your kindness, youngling" Kagan chuckled, "you honor me and my fellow Dwarves with such a promise." With one final bow of thanks, the dwarves made their way back into the crowd; leaving Beast Boy the only one without a weapon.

"Now, we come to you; Sir Garfield the Noble" said Gabriel as he made his approach, "and your weapon is a particularly unique one." He then gestured for two members of his guard to approach, both of whom appeared to be holding a magnificent bow in their hands. At first glance, it seemed to look exactly like their bows.

But Gabriel quickly explained that while the weapon was made from one of the same varieties of wood as the guards' bows (hickory, oak, maple etc.) Garfield's was special. "Look closely on the surface of the bow, my friend" the elf prince urged, "do you see the runes etched into the wood?" With a mildly befuddled look on his face, Beast Boy took hold of the bow and stared at the aforementioned runes intently.

But after looking them over from both ends, he could not figure out what seemed so special about the symbols. Furthermore, he noticed that the bow lacked a string and no one presented an arrow quiver to go along with it. When Beast Boy brought all of this to the Shadowmanes' attention, they simply laughed at him.

Mind you, it wasn't any form of mocking laughter but a collection of playful/friendly chuckles. Even so, Beast Boy felt a tad annoyed by it all and demanded an explanation. "Ah, yes...of course; I am so sorry, my friend" Gabriel said apologetically, "we are laughing because this bow isn't like the others...allow me to demonstrate."

With that; the prince took the bow in hand, made his way towards a window and opened it wide. Then, he spotted a small boulder sitting near a lake in the meadow; which he considered to be "the perfect target." Of course, the whole time this was going on; everyone else felt that the prince was going mad.

"Uh...No disrespect meant, Gabe" Amethyst murmured, "but I thought you said you were gonna show us what Gar's weapon can do." Upon hearing these words, the elf prince looked towards the wee gem maiden and urged her to be patient. Not long after that, everyone suddenly noticed that the runes on the bow were giving off a bright glow.

Overtime, they were soon radiating with a powerful blue light; making the weapon look as though it was on fire. Then, as Gabriel moved his hand behind the bow; a thin string of the same blue light appeared. He lightly gripped his fingers around it like one would with a real bowstring and a startling phenomenon happened.

Soon, everyone saw what looked like an arrow form between Gabriel's fingers and the string; an arrow made of pure light. "Heavens! How is the prince doing that" Gibson thought, "c-could the wood of that bow possibly...no, that is a preposterous idea." Coincidentally, many within the crowd seemed to have the same thought as the blue chimp; believing that the wood of Beast Boy's new bow may have been enchanted somehow.

But before anyone could question him on it, Gabriel released his grip on the "arrow" and sent it flying. It soared towards the boulder like a rocket and then, once it made contact...it exploded! At the same time, a strong burst of light flashed; causing everyone to shield their eyes for safety.

After what felt like an eternity of waiting and silence, everyone reopened their eyes; feeling eager to see what had happened. "Usopp, go over to the window" Nami requested, "see what happened after Gabriel fired that shot." Not needing to be told twice, the young sniper rushed towards the window and used his scope to look towards the meadow.

"Let's see here" he murmured softly while adjusting the lens, "where did Gabriel fi...WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL?!" Many in the crowd gasped at this outburst; of course, it was mostly the parents who did so (considering Usopp's rather fowl choice of words.) But regardless, this prompted them all to look out the window for themselves.

At first, everything seemed rather normal...save for one thing; a rather reasonably-sized crater beside the lake in the meadow. "What the...Gabriel, did you do that" inquired Chopper, "how, how could one arrow do that kind of damage?" The elf prince's ears twitched slightly upon hearing the reindeer's cries, causing him to chuckle softly.

Then, as he made his way towards the crowd; he held the bow up over his head for all to see. "This, my friends...is the Bow of Light; an enchanted weapon made by my father's own hands and magic" he announced, "the runes etched into the wood all represent the Elven symbol of light." From here, the prince said that if the user's will was strong; they could channel the energies of the bow to form light arrows.

"What you've all witnessed, just now was the destructive power of but one arrow" Gabriel stated, "with enough focus, Sir Garfield will be able summon and fire three light arrows at one time!" To say the least, Beast Boy was quite surprised by the sheer power of his new weapon. However, he felt that it seemed "wasted" on him due to the fact he had never used a bow before.

"Perhaps, we could give you a few instructions before you return home" Thaylog offered, "that is...once we've all had our fun, of course." The rest of the Shadowmane Family gave a chuckle at the elf king's jest, as did the crowd as a whole. But nonetheless, Beast Boy accepted the offer and thanked Thaylog for his weapon.

(Line Break)

After each of the lads had been knighted and given their weapons, there was one more thing left to make the ceremony complete; one that involved the champions' shields. "For hundreds of years, knights have carried emblems upon their shields" Donella announced, "these not only represented the knight's own heroic identity but served as a symbol to inspire hope to others; as well as fear in the hearts of their enemies." With these words, the elf princess proclaimed that each of the six newly knight champions would receive their own emblem; one that best represented their new titles.

For this part of the ceremony, the Shadowmanes combined their magical energies with that of the High Mystics' own and bathed the lads' shields in a rainbow of light. In truth, no one among the lads' allies seemed to understand what was happening or what the Shadowmanes were doing. But after everything they've seen up to this point, they had decided to simply "roll with it" (as folk from the human world would say.)

At that moment, Lion's curiosity got the better of him and he tried to catch a glimpse of what was going on. As he drew closer to the shields, he suddenly noticed something forming at each of their centers; animal shapes. "Good, the emblems are forming perfectly" Falcore murmured, "now, lads...pick up your shields."

Not needing to be told twice, the lads each picked up a shield from the floor and slipped it over their right arm. Afterwards, each one of the emblems had fully formed upon the shields; which Gabriel claimed best represented who they were. Sir Daniel's was that of a magnificent white fox, which was considered one of the cleverest creatures in nature (according to the Shadowmanes.)

On Sir Luffy's shield, everyone saw the growling face of a grizzly bear appear. Sir Chiro was given the emblem of the lion, considered to be the bravest of beasts. For Sir Artha, he was given the symbol of the hawk; which was a creature that he had not heard of before (until now.)

"This thing looks about as fierce as the crow-drags back on my world" the lad said with a snicker, "but a whole lot bigger in size." When his fellow racers had the chance to see the emblem for themselves, they couldn't help but agree with Artha. At the same time, those like Cain thought it looked as harmless as the crow-drag.

"Do not underestimate the creatures of nature, child" Queen Elbenor stated, "many can be quite dangerous...if you choose to anger them." This statement seemed to shock Cain so greatly that he vowed not to speak up until the ceremony was complete. Of course, his fellow Dragon Eyes couldn't help but grown in embarrassment; Moordryd among them.

Back with the champions, Steven's shield appeared relatively the same; save for the newly formed star symbol at the center. But Gabriel told him that his newfound acceptance in his identity helped unlock far more than he realized. "If you desire proof...simply place your hand upon the star" the prince instructed, "as for the rest of you, I advise you to shield your eyes."

At first, everyone remained perfectly still; murmuring amongst themselves in confusion at Gabriel's request. But once more, he urged everyone to close or cover their eyes immediately; lest they risk suffering some form of consequences. Sadly, before anyone could question the prince on his command; Steven had already placed his left hand upon his shield.

Upon doing so, a flash of light suddenly burst from the star emblem; causing half of the guests to shriek with alarm. Fortunately, it only lasted for a few seconds and once the light had faded; all was well again. "What the...Oh, my stars" Steven gasped in shock, "since when was I...er, my shield able to do THAT?!"

Once more, Gabriel reminded the lad of what he said moments ago about his newfound sense of identity. "Once you have accepted yourself as you are, Sir Steven; your powers granted you your own version of your mother's shield" Princess Donella explained, "they have also given it a sort of...upgrade, as the humans of your realm might say." Feeling both cautious yet intrigued, Pearl raised her hand and asked if the sudden light flare was part of the aforementioned "upgrade."

"Very astute, Lady Pearl" praised Gabriel, "whenever Sir Steven places his hand upon the star emblem, it creates a magical light flare." Not only were the Gems quite amazed by this reveal, those like Connie and Lars felt such a power would serve Steven well as a defensive tactic. As for the other lads' emblems, everyone wondered if theirs were just as mystical in nature.

"You are all quite correct, Lords and Ladies" said King Thaylog, "and to demonstrate this...I wish to ask the remaining five of our champions to please, place your hands upon your emblems and say 'spirit of the shield, I summon you!'" For a brief moment, the lads all looked at one another with confusion; wondering if they should comply with the king's request. Then, Luffy gazed down at the bear image on his shield and curiosity soon got the better of him.

He held the shield up slightly, placed his free hand upon the center and recited the words Thaylog shared; "spirit of the shield, I summon you." What happened next was even more surprising than when Gabriel demonstrated the power of the Bow of Light. Soon, all five of the lads' shields started to glow; causing them to fearfully drop them to the floor.

Then, the emblem symbols started to fade away while small orbs of light suddenly appeared over each of the shields. Within seconds, the orbs began to grow larger in size until they appeared as large as a human head. Finally, everyone watched in awe as the orbs slowly started to change into rather familiar looking shapes.

When the whole process reached its end, almost a minute later; everyone saw a collection of beasts standing before them. There was a lion, a grizzly, a hawk, a fox and...a creature that looked like a horse with wings. "OH MY STARS...I-Is that a Pegasus" Connie cried with glee at the final creature, "wait, it's got a horn on its forehead...it's gotta be an Alicorn!"

Everyone else seemed just as amazed by the sight of these creatures as the young lady was, to say the least. Meanwhile, Beast Boy simply stared at the alicorn before him with a look of bewilderment on his face. "Really...this is my emblem" he thought dejectedly, "I was hoping to get something more...intimidating like the others have."

Just as Beast Boy was about to share this mild grievance openly, he noticed the alicorn making its way towards him. Once it came within reach of him; the creature suddenly stared deep into Beast Boy's eyes. Naturally, the young lad found this behavior rather odd (as did the other Titans) and presumed the alicorn was looking for a chance to attack.

What it and the other Emblem Beasts did instead truly surprised everyone. Each creature slowly faced their respective champion, assumed a sort of kneeling position (save for Artha's falcon) and bowed their heads in greeting. What happened next was so shocking, it caused many to fall over themselves in surprise. After each of the Emblem Beasts stood back up again; they looked towards their champions and asked "what do you wish of us, Masters?"

Though this inquiry was but a brief one, the fact that everyone clearly heard the creatures speak was a startling circumstance. But not everyone seemed that surprised by it, however. "For crying out loud, what's the big deal" Lion grumbled, "I've been talkin' this whole time and nobody's freaking out. As if on cue, Steven and a few of his Gem comrades turned towards the beast and murmured "that all depends on who you're asking."

Lion grunted softly under his breath and turned towards his left, where he saw several of Beach City's citizens eyeing him with baffled expressions. To help ease everyone's confusion, Gabriel offered to provide an explanation. "These five creatures before you, young knights are mystical emblem beasts" he stated, "they each represent your innermost spirits."

Starting with the fox, Gabriel explained that Danny often exhibited traits of cleverness and cunning that are often found within such a creature. "Huh...that actually sounds kind of cool" the ghost boy murmured in approval, "but can you fight?" Just then, a certain member of Danny's ghostly allies was mere seconds away from shouting "I AM THE BOX GHOST;" much to everyone's chagrin.

However, the instant this was said; they watched in shock as Danny's new emblem beast leapt high over the crowd and pounced atop of Box Ghost. "Must you incessantly call out your name wherever you go" the fox growled, "it's quite vexing to us all!" The Box Ghost, startled by emblem beast's show of agility, nodded his head in compliance and swore to hold his tongue the rest of the evening.

Overall, Danny was quite impressed by all this and felt that such an ally could prove useful in future battles. Following this, Luffy approached his emblem beast with an inquisitive look on his face. "Okay, big fella" he murmured softly, "if you're gonna be my emblem, you've gotta be tough...show me what'cha got!" With this command, the bear suddenly rammed itself slightly up against Luffy; much to the shock of the other guests.

Everyone watched as the two struggled and strained against each other's strength, wondering who would give in first. But instead, Luffy simply gave a hearty chuckle and rubbed his hand vigorously atop the beast's belly; causing it to laugh gruffly. "There we go! You're a real tough guy, aren't you" he chuckled, "just like me! HA-HA-HA!"

While many agreed that this scene did look rather adorable; for some, it was also quite baffling at the same time. As the Straw Hats looked on in wonder at their captain giving a bear a belly rub, they wondered how he was able to sometimes win over such "adversaries" so easily. "'Tis the mark of someone with a mighty spirit, my friends" answered Avery, "and folk are often drawn to those with such spirits, your captain being such an example."

In that moment, the pirate crew couldn't help but agree with the young Elfling; Nami especially. In spite of everything; no matter how often Luffy would be knocked down, insulted or brought to the brink of despair...he refused to give in. With all this in mind, they felt that his new knight title and emblem seemed to suit him perfectly.

Meanwhile, both Sir Chiro and Sir Artha gazed at their own beasts with confused expressions. They didn't know whether to feel intrigued, alarmed or confused by the sight of them; truth be told. This was, of course due to the fact that lions and falcons weren't commonplace in either of the two lads' home worlds.

It was here that a fellow named Clortho, who claimed to be a "master of beasts," offered to help clear the air of confusion. "Lions are known as the kings and queens of the jungle lands, the most fearsome of beasts" he stated, "while falcons are among the greatest flyers in the sky." Upon hearing his emblem being described as a "lion" Chiro suddenly realized that it and Steven's companion were the same creature (save for the fur color difference.)

"Okay...if you're going to be my emblem, Mr. Lion...you've gotta promise you'll help me protect people and not hurt them" he ordered hesitantly, "I know you lions like to eat a lot...but you don't attack anyone we call our friend, are we clear?" Surprisingly; the lion sad himself upright in its most regal position, nodded its muzzle slightly and replied with a gruff "it shall be so." Despite however odd this seemed to him, Chiro was happy to have got his point across.

Next, Artha watched as his falcon suddenly perched itself atop of the lad's left shoulder. Afterwards, it gave the same inquiry that the other Emblem Beasts said moments ago; "what do you wish of me." "Um...okay, I guess since we're gonna be partners; you can help my team and I keep Dragon City safe" Artha murmured uneasily, "you think you can do that?"

Just as Chiro's lion had done for him, the falcon bowed its head slightly at its new master and said "it shall be so." This simple phrase seemed just enough to show Artha's comrades that his new companion could be trusted. "Interesting, this creature could prove useful whenever we take part in investigative missions" Parm murmured while eyeing the falcon closely, "however...I hope it won't find any reason to hurt us...or me, specifically."

This statement caused the Shadowmanes to softly laugh with joy, much to Parm's annoyance. But very quickly, Gabriel calmed himself down and proclaimed that no one should have any reason to fear the emblem beasts. "However, these creatures are in tune with the champions' emotions" he added with a wary tone, "as such, they will act upon them...should certain feelings appear the strongest."

Though the prince's words seemed cryptic, at first; it didn't take long for everyone to understand what he meant. Should any of the champions feel threatened, scared, distress or feel any variation of anger; the emblem beast would feel these emotions as well. As a result, they would not hesitate to defend their masters from whatever or whoever may be threatening them.

"If what you say is true, guys" Usopp murmured with a nervous gulp, "then...does that mean the bear will attack any one of us, when we get upset with Luffy?" In response to this, the beast faced his master's crew and gave them a look that seemed to say "care to test the theory?" This caused several members of the Straw Hats to sweat nervously, while the rest simply glared back at the bear with equal intensity.

Meanwhile, the alicorn casually approached a rather baffled-looking Beast Boy; who couldn't help himself in staring at the creature's long horn. When it was finally within the proper distance, the alicorn gave a soft snorting sound and bowed its head slightly in greeting; just as the other emblem beasts did. Finally, Beast Boy managed to snap out of his confused daze and decided to observe the creature more closely.

He started walking around it three times over, looking over every inch of it intently from the tip of its horn to the end of its tail. After the third walk-around, everyone noticed the lad murmuring and nodding with mild approval. "Okay...This little critter is pretty, I'll give ya that" he stated, "but of all things, why give me an alicorn as an emblem?"

Just as the Shadowmanes were prepared to answer him, they noticed that the alicorn's horn was radiating with a beautiful golden glow. Then, as it looked Beast Boy in the eye; the creature smiled and everyone suddenly heard a voice saying "greetings, Sir Garfield the Noble...I am at your service." This caused everyone to look about the room either out of fear or confusion, wondering just who it was that spoke to them.

After having a bit of a laugh at the scene, Gabriel decided to help ease their minds. "Lords and Ladies, be calm" he insisted softly, "can you not see...the one addressing Sir Garfield is standing right in front of him." For a moment, half the crowd didn't seem to understand what the prince was saying; while the others believed he might be going mad.

As if sensing these feelings from them, Beast Boy proclaimed to the crowd that he believed Gabriel's words; stressing that he actually could hear the alicorn speaking to him. "But...how is that possible" Pearl murmured in disbelief, "I don't see that...thing's lips moving, how else would it be communicating with you?!" Many others within the crowd felt just as confused as Pearl did, save one; Mr. Hal Gibson.

Upon inspecting the emblem beast more closely, he deduced that it may have been using a form of telepathic communication. This was, of course possible thanks to the alicorn's horn; which seemed to be pulsating with golden energies. "You are quite correct, Master Gibson" King Thaylog stated, "the horn of an alicorn is the key behind its mystical prowess."

From here, he explained the many things creatures such as this were capable of; healing and telepathy chief among them. With these words, everyone soon gazed upon the winged stallion in awed silence; amazed to actually see such a thing up close. As for Beast Boy, he wasted no time in asking why an alicorn was chosen to be his emblem.

"The answer is simple, my friend" Gabriel replied, "you share a great deal in common with the Alicorn; you're both unique in appearance, you share a great love for the natural world and you seek to help those in need however you can." After giving the elf prince's words some thought, the Titans soon found themselves agreeing with him.

However, in spite of whatever traits he shared with it; Beast Boy still felt that an alicorn did not seem like an intimidating companion. "Do not be fooled by my regal appearance, Sir" the alicorn said telepathically, "when threatened, even the most docile of creatures can become fierce." Beast Boy soon found himself heartily chuckling at the emblem beast's words, remembering the many times he had been fooled by something that seemed friendly at first glance.

With this in mind, he now believed his new companion could actually prove to be a worthy ally on the field. With that, each of the champions said their thanks to the Shadowmanes for their generous gifts and vowed to use their knighthood wisely. Then, just as the newly named Sir Luffy was about to make his way towards the nearest banquet table; the Elven royals urged him to stay with them for one moment longer.

"There are two things my family and I have left to give you, gentlemen" she said with a light smile, "the first being an important piece of advice." Before any of the lads could speak a word, Elbenor continued speaking; reminding them that a wise warrior never seeks out battle or those in need...but they must always be ready to answer a call for help. "Of course, my words may only prove useful to two of you" the elf queen stated, "namely young Luffy and Steven."

Now, many within the hall (specifically the Straw Hats) already knew of the young pirate king's tendency to rush into a battle without planning ahead and to fight anyone fool enough to anger him. But as they've discovered in his tome within the palace archives; during certain periods, Luffy had actually taken strides to carefully plot out his maneuvers and skills. Thus, the pirate crew felt that their captain may have been several steps ahead of the elf queen.

However, it was soon revealed that Steven was the one whom Elbenor hoped would take her words into consideration. "If I may add something to my mother's words" Prince Gabriel interjected, "never forget that while there may be times where those around you may appear content, never assume that they no longer need you." While these words weren't spoken out of anger or spite; for Steven, they seemed to cut into him deeply.

They reminded him of how far he fell before coming to Overon, of how he struggled to find his place in the new Beach City and Gem society. He had spent so much time trying to help bring peace between both sides, the poor lad had little chance to just be himself. As a result; Steven felt that without anyone to help or any dangers to fight back, he was useless.

Overtime, such thoughts led him on a self-destructive path; one that almost put each of his most treasured bonds at risk of being broken. But through it all, his family and comrades helped remind him just how much they valued his work. Since then, Steven has tried everything possible to help move past these events and his experiences in the trials seemed to have given him the one thing he so desperately desired...closure.

As all these thoughts swirled around his mind like a hurricane, tears suddenly trickled down Steven's cheeks. Naturally, the Crystal Gems were alarmed by this and were prepared to rush to his side. "No...No, it's okay" Steven said with a light smile and a chuckle, "I just...the prince's words kind of...struck a chord with me."

While they still felt concerned over their charge's welfare; with a little reassurance from Greg, the Gemfolk soon became calm once again. "From your reaction, Sir Steven; I sense that you understand what we are trying to teach you" King Thaylog inquired, "as such...never forget that you are still a valued member of your community, even in times of peace." This statement caused both the citizens of Beach City and their Gem comrades to sound off in agreement, proving that the elf king's words were abundantly true.

As he looked over at the cheering crowds, Steven's eyes swelled with tears but he still kept his smile. "Okay, this is nice and all" Amethyst grumbled, "but if I may ask...WHEN ARE WE GONNA EAT?!" King Thaylog, his family and all six champions laughed heartily at the wee quartz' statement; realizing that they had indeed been going on quite long with the ceremony.

Without further delay, they decided to bring it all to a close by asking the six lads to present themselves to the crowd. "By our decree, as the ruling monarch of this land; we present to you the Champions of the Multiverse" Prince Gabriel announced, "good people, give them your voices!" Not needing to be told twice, Brook decided to lead everyone in a hearty cheer.

Brook: "Hip-Hip"

Usopp, Chopper + Franky: "Hooray!"

Brook: "Hip-Hip"

Sadie, Connie, Peridot, Lapis + Spinel: "HOORAY!"

Brook: "Hip...Hip.."

All: "HOOORAAAAY!"

As the six lads looked on at the crowd, their ears echoing with their uproarious cheers; they couldn't help but wonder if this was all real or some sort of a dream. But as they looked down at their new armor, weapons and shields; they were happy to see that their hopes were fulfilled. "I can't believe it...I'm actually a knight, a real knight" Beast Boy thought in awe, "oh...if only you could see me like this, Mom and Dad; you'd be so proud."

Coincidentally, Luffy and Steven appeared to be having similar thoughts; mentally wishing that their lost loved ones could see how far they had come. As the three young men stood in place, shedding small tears of regret and longing; everyone swore they could hear each of them humming under their breath. Many of Overon's citizens and allies presumed these were sounds of pain and feared something was wrong.

Sensing his people's concern, King Thaylog held his hands high and assured them all was well. "It sounds as though the lads may be...humming under their collective breaths" he stated, "perhaps, they are simply thinking of a song each of them enjoy." As it turns out, the king's assumptions proved correct...but the lads were humming so softly that only a select few seemed to recognize what the melodies were.

In the case of Sir Steven, he was humming something the Crystal Gems knew from long ago; a melody his mother once sang called "Love Like You." To Brook's non-existent ears, he swore he could hear his captain humming the infamous sailor's shanty; Bink's Sake under his breath (which was a song that he often performed for the crew while sailing on the Sunny.) As for Beast Boy, he was humming something that no one seemed to recognize.

Perhaps, it might have been yet another childhood lullaby his parents would sing to him as a child; like that of The Littlest Lamb. All the same, it sounded quite lovely and they wondered just what Beast Boy might've been thinking while humming the tune; the Titans especially. "Mom, Dad...I miss you so much" he thought to himself, "I'm sorry you're not hear with me to see all of this...I'm sorry I failed you both."

As the three lads continued to stand in place, humming their melodies softly to themselves; Sir Daniel's "Ghost Sense" suddenly activated. This did not go unnoticed by his friends and family, who suddenly felt a sense of danger creep over them. "What the...a ghost attack, here" questioned Jazz in a hushed tone, "but...I thought we made peace with the denizens of the Ghost Zone ages ago!"

Sam and Tucker both felt just as confused as her, especially for the fact that all of Danny's ghostly allies were all present and accounted fore in the hall already. "Maybe the veil between our worlds is still weak" murmured Poindexter uneasily, "this would allow a ghost bully to come in and attack!" With these words, Team Phantom was moments away from arming themselves with whatever they could find as weaponry and defending the party guests.

Then, just when things couldn't appear any stranger; everyone noticed that Steven's gem was giving off an intensely powerful glow. After that, two wisps of mist appeared behind both Beast Boy and Luffy; who were still humming their melodies to themselves. Finally, the whole room suddenly started to echo with the melodious sounds of unseen voices singing along with the trio.

As the crowd listened closely, they realized that these voices were coming from both Steven's gemstone and the wisps behind Beast Boy and Luffy. "Okay...here I thought I've seen all the weird stuff this world has to offer" Tucker murmured uneasily, "should we be running or getting ready for a fight?" Before anyone else could say a word, King Thaylog approached the timid lad and urged him to keep silent.

"Do not be afraid, everyone" he urged softly, "all will be revealed soon...be silent and watch." Against their better judgment, the crowd of party guests had no choice but to trust the Elf King's word and watch the scenario before them unfold. Upon doing so, everyone soon noticed that the voices sounded much more alluring than they did earlier.

The voice coming from the wisp behind Beast Boy, in particular seemed as sweet and welcoming as a mother singing a lullaby to her child. Then, just when the crowd thought they had seen it all; the wisps started to assume human-like form while a similar phenomenon began to occur with Steven's gem. As he continued to hum and think of the "Love Like You" melody, a beam of light projected from it; startling the whole crowd.

What followed next was so surprising, many party guests found themselves fainting from the shock. First; after the wisps had fully assumed their appropriate forms, they softly approached Beast Boy and Luffy and placed their hands upon their shoulders. Surprisingly, neither of the two lads seemed to notice; they were still deeply immersed in humming their melodies to themselves.

It was here that two of the three ghostly figures, one male and the other resembling a sort of female form, decided to make the first move. Like a leaf caught in a breeze, the female spirit floated around Beast Boy until she was standing right in front of him. Then, she lightly touched the lad's cheeks with her hands and eased his head up slightly; so that he could get a good look at her.

Next, the male spirit soon appeared beside the female and offered up an equally warm smile to Beast Boy. This seemed just enough to shake the lad in question out of his sullen daze and when he caught a full glimpse of the couple, he almost tripped over his cloak in shock. "What the...no, it can't be" he whispered in disbelief, "they're not...are you...am I..."

The ghostly couple chuckled softly at the lad's baffled state and, much to the surprise of everyone in the room, started to sing the very melody that he was humming under his breath. Despite however odd the situation appeared; when the crowd heard the duo sing, it was the most enchanting thing they've ever heard.

(Female Ghost)

Time to close your eyes
So sleep can come around

(Male Ghost)

For when you dream you'll find
All that's lost is found

(Both)

Maybe on the moon
Or maybe somewhere new
Maybe all you're missing lives inside of you

(Female Ghost)

So when you need our touch
And loving gaze

(Male Ghost)

Gone but not forgotten
Is the perfect phrase

(Both)

Smiling from a star
That we make glow

(Male Ghost)

Trust we're always there

(Female Ghost)

Watching as you grow

(Both)

Find us in the place
Where the lost things go.

As the melody drew to a close, Beast Boy found himself frozen in place with shock. He didn't understand what was going on, truthfully but he hoped and prayed that he wasn't dreaming. Standing before him were his parents, Mark and Marie Logan; looking the same way they did on the day he lost them. His mother's beautiful brown hair hung over her shoulder in a ponytail, his father's blonde locks were short and shaggy (which seemed near identical to Beast Boy's own style) and they both appeared to be dressed in safari clothing.

Beside the duo were two other figures, a young man with a tattoo upon his back and a beautiful maiden with long pink hair and a gemstone at the center of her belly (much like Steven's.) Once these beings had fully appeared in the room, Thaylog and Gabriel approached the lads and smiled brightly. "This was the final gift we wished to give you, gentlemen" chuckled the elf prince, "with some assistance from the High Mystics and Sir Daniel's comrade, Walker; we have brought a few...special guests to join in on the festivities."

Not one of the three lads offered up a reply, their minds appearing far too shocked to say anything. All the same, this alone was enough to show Gabriel and his family that their champions greatly appreciated the gesture. "Go now, gentlemen; speak with our new guests" urged queen Elbenor, "no doubt you have much to talk about before the evening is through."

(First AN: Sorry for taking so long to write this, everybody...and for the fact that this may seem a little long for one chapter. But considering that this was about the guys' knighting ceremony, such events often do have a lot of pomp and circumstance behind them.

Anywho...the boys' trials are over, the ceremony is complete and some very special guests have come to join in on the fun. But who are these guests, what will happen during the rest of the ball and what will happen to our champions, once the festivities are over? Find out all these answers and more, next time!)

(Second AN: The material of Luffy's hammer is known as star metal, which is something many fans of Conan the Barbarian may recognize. Of course, this was also featured in some versions of D&D as well. In any case, I hold no ownership of the concept of Star Metal.

That falls into the hands of the original creators; so, please don't sue me)

(Third AN: Speaking of things I don't own; the son Mark and Marie Logan's spirits sing, "Where the Lost Things Go," is an original song written by Emily Blunt for the Disney Film Mary Poppins Returns. To reiterate what I said in the second Author's Note, I don't own the song; nor do I own Bink's Sake or Love Like You. Each of these melodies are the property of their respective owners.

Just thought I'd clear that up, in case anyone felt confused)

(Final AN: The other reason this chapter took so long can be described in one word, research. For days, I've looked through the inter-webs and tried to find the best knightly titles for each of the champions. At the same time, I've also been looking for the best animal/creature emblems and weapons that best represented said titles.

On that note, I'm sorry if Beast Boy getting a bow seems a little odd; especially since he's not really an archery type. But I hope Gabriel's explanation behind the purpose of each weapon and emblem will make things clear enough for all of you. Thanks for understanding and I hope you'll enjoy the chapter)
