SIGNS OF TIME
[Caius Perspective]
"So we really don't need to go with them to satellite?" Estelle asks me with a look of confusion on her face.
"Nope, I have a strong feeling we're gonna be needed here in the city; they can handle the remaining signers without us. Their beef with them is personal..." I respond calmly, walking out my front door to where Aeon and our runners are waiting.
"Sup Caius" Aeon says calmly as he sees me coming out of the penthouse. "We ready to go for the head?"
Estelle gives a look of slight confusion before I point toward Godwin's mansion, at which point she asks a different question. "What's waiting for us there?"
"The Condor... We wait until tonight when the Signers are finishing up their duels, something tells me we have to time this just right..." I look between Aeon and Estelle, and then get on my runner.
"So we're getting food first?" Aeon asks bluntly, causing a look of horror from Estelle.
"The world might end and you're thinking about food?!" She exclaims.
"Yeah, we're getting food" I respond, and Estelle just gives me the same look, then she seems to just give up and sit on her runner.
With little more said we head into the city to get some food, after a rather quiet time eating, mostly Estelle trying to understand why we're eating and not fighting, I guess? I can't read her mind.
As the afternoon passes by, we wait out of the sight of Godwin's security cameras, staring at the lights over Satellite, the dark signer marks... Then as the last mark, Misty's, vanishes. Aeon and Estelle turn to me.
"Okay. Why are we waiting? What are we waiting for?" Aeon asks me, and I hold up a finger, then point up toward the sky.
As the condor mark appears directly overhead, I smirk and turn toward Rex's mansion, the ground shaking as the mansion itself starts to crumble, the pyramid of the star rising up from it... Would be cool if we weren't about to have the duel of our lives. It took a lot of focus after my last meditation just to remember that we needed to be here. "That. We were waiting for that."
The three of us move our runners through the now broken gates of Godwin's mansion, and as the King of the Netherworld starts climbing from his pit, Godwin appears at the top of the Pyramid.
"Well well, Caius. Aeon. Estelle. How did I know it would be the three of you coming to try and best me?" He exclaims cockily.
"The same way I knew it would be you we would be facing."
At that moment there's a light behind us as the main cast arrives. They seem confused.
"Hey, what's going on Caius? Why is that mark here?" Yusei asks in a panic.
"Long and short, Godwin is evil and wants to use the power of Light and Dark to destroy the world and rebuild it in his image."
A moment of silence...
"Fuck..." Yusei says tiredly, causing a look of shock from everyone, in particular Akiza and Crow who rush to cover Leo and Luna's ears. "So what do we do?"
Then Estelle speaks up. "You rest Yusei. We are going to take care of this"
"Yeah, it's our turn to settle the score" Aeon continues.
"And we're gonna take you down Godwin!" I yell up to him. "You and Us, right here, right now, so put that dragon head mark on and let's get to business!"
Godwin seems taken aback as i speak, then he goes through his weird bulking up moment with his dark signer marks, ripping off his metal arm and putting on the one with the Dragon Head mark.
With a moment more the tower starts growing up and up... "Behold the perch of my reign to come! But first let us begin the ancient ritual for the King of the Netherworld! We will duel on the crest of the Condor! There I will crush you signers-!"
"-And send us all to the netherworld I get it!" Aeon yells up at him. "Shut up and duel!"
We get ourselves set for the duel, as the condor mark rotates to let us onto it.
"Then let's get started Aeon, Estelle. Because we're ready..." I give a smirk to Yusei as i steal his catchphrase. "to Rev it up!"
Aeon interrupts me quite rudely and yells to Godwin. "Standard 3 on one rules right? You get triple life points?"
"...Yes. And i shall crush you handsomely" Rex responds, trying to keep up his gusto, which i find amusing. "Also none of us can attack on the first turn, are there any objections?"
"I am fine with this!" Estelle says first, followed by Aeon, who checks the twins still have their ears covered before speaking.
"Go fuck yourself Godwin, we're gonna tear you a new one in this duel!"
"Thank you Aeon... But yeah, we know what we're in for Godwin!" I finish, and we all speed up onto the mark and get ready, then stop and get off our runners, discs of red energy beneath us, lifting us into the air to be even with Godwin.
"What are you doing? We're going to duel!"
"Yes Godwin, we're duelling. But we're doing a standing duel." Estelle says.
"The ritual never states that we have to turbo duel Godwin." Aeon continues, allowing me to finish up.
"As they say in the olden times, this is a shadow game, now... It's time to duel!"
DUEL START: AEON, CAIUS & ESTELLE VS GODWIN

"I'm going first, Draw! And we're gonna be setting up nicely! I activate my field spell, Rising HERO Skyline!"
As he activates the field spell, the area around him warps, a skyline in what looks like a misty sunrise, suits him, and a building rises up to replace the energy disc he's stood on.
"Then I play the spell Fallen HERO Fusion! I fuse together the Fallen HEROs of Twilight and Witching Hour in my hand! I fusion summon Rising HERO Sunset!"
Rising HERO Sunset: Lv 7, DARK, ATK 2500
"Then i use his ability, by sending the top card of my deck to the grave I gain 500 life points!"
AEON LP: +500 = 8500
"Then I set a card face down and end my turn!"
TURN CHANGE: ESTELLE
"I Draw! And i begin with a field spell of my own! Incarnaztec Temple!"
Beneath her rises a mirror to Godwin's tower, but hers looks lighter, more like an ancient ruin than a crazy cultist's pyramid.
"Next I play the spell card Incarnaztec Resurrection! It allows me to summon an Incarnaztec monster from my hand or grave, so I summon the Tuner monster, Incanaztec Star Maiden! And follow up by Normal Summoning Incarnaztec Knight!"
Incarnaztec Star Maiden: Lv 3, LIGHT, ATK 1200
Incarnaztec Knight: Lv 4, WIND, ATK 1700
In front of Estelle appear what can only be described as herself and Yusei wearing some kind of Aztec outfit. I could swear that Ancient Aztec Yusei looks familiar.
"Since I special summoned Star Maiden her ability applies, when used for a Synchro Summon, I can use a monster in my hand as another material!"
With that she holds up one of the cards in her hand, beaming as the Knight and Star Maiden on her field take each other in-arms and start glowing, along with the card in her hand.
"So I will merge these two along with the level 4 Apocatequil in my hand!"
"Come forth, the ruler of the stars, the emperor of the dragons!
Synchro Summon! Level 11!
I call down Star Eater!"
Star Eater: Lv 11, LIGHT, 3200
"Then I too place one card down and end my turn!"
TURN CHANGE: CAIUS
"Draw, I begin with a pair of spells Foolish Burial and Monster Reborn, to send a specific monster to my grave and bring it straight back. So rise up Aether of the Diabolic Dragons!"

"When Aether is summoned, it gets to call out Sa'an from my deck!"
Sa'an of the Diabolic Maidens: Lv 3, DARK, ATK 1000
"Now I merge the pair together!"
"Rise up from the great depths of nothing! Overcome the enemy and vanquish Light!

"With that I end my turn..."

"Draw. Now see my new power! I summon Dragon Paladin Dagon! When this monster is summoned i gain 1000 life points!"

GODWIN LP: +1000 = 25,000
Dragon Paladin?... This isn't right...
"Now since I control a Dragon Paladin, I can special summon another Dagon from my hand!"

GODWIN LP: +1000, = 26,000
"Alas, I can only summon Dagon twice in a turn, so with my power as a Dark Signer, I construct the overlay network!"
I can feel the death stares from Estelle and Aeon.
"I overlay my two Level 4 Dragon Paladin monsters to XYZ summon this! Dragon Paladin Leviathan!"
Dragon Paladin Leviathan: Rank 4, DARK, ATK ?
Dragon Paladin Leviathan ATK: - 3000
"Leviathan's Attack is equal to its Defence, and it gains 500 Defence for each overlay unit it has! Taking it from its natural 2000, to 3000! Then i use the ability of my Dragon Paladin Fenris in my hand, to merge it with the third Dagon sleeping in my hand! I fusion summon Dragon Paladin Beelzebub!"

"Caius his monsters..." Aeon begins speaking
I nod in understanding. That Xyz monster is the only monster he's played so far that isn't... a pendulum monster. He's got a pendulum deck.
"I then place two cards face down and end my turn!" Godwin exclaims, having used his whole hand on his turn.
TURN CHANGE: AEON
"Draw! I summon this! Fallen HERO Dusk!"
Fallen HERO Dusk: Lv 4, DARK, ATK 1700
"I use its ability, by destroying itself and my Skyline, I summon a Fallen HERO from my hand! So i destroy them both to summon Fallen HERO Hallows-Eve!"
Fallen HERO Hallows-Eve: Lv 5, DARK, 2100
"When i summon Hallows-Eve i get to add Fallen HERO Fusion from my deck to my hand, and i activate it! As an added bonus Fusion lets me banish a Fallen HERO from my grave to fusion with monsters on my field. So I merge Sunset, Hallows-Eve, and Dusk in my graveyard to fusion summon this..."
Rising HERO Skystrike: Lv 10, DARK, ATK 0
"It gains Attack equal to the levels of all HERO monsters i control and that sleep in my grave times by 200!, Witching hour is a level 6, Sunset is 7, and Twilight is a 7 too, combined with Skystrike itself a level 10 makes a total of 30 levels, or 6000 ATK!"
Rising HERO Skystrike ATK + 200*30 = 6000
"Now with my face-down card, Fallen HERO Resolve, I up his attack by his level multiplied by 200, another 2000 ATK! Skystrike, Attack his Leviathan!"
Rising HERO Skystrike ATK + 200*10 = 8000
Godwin smirks, and I know something bad is about to happen, and it does.
"I play Magic Cylinder! Fall upon your own Sword Aeon!"
"No!" I almost scream...
I extend my hand to Aeon and only get a moment to see the shock on his face, as his hasty attack blows him back off of his platform, onto the Condor mark...
AEON LP: -8000 = 500
I stare at Aeon blankly, as he lays face down on the mark, giving me a snapshot memory of Crow in the same position.
"Now he's unable to continue, it is your turn Estelle, no?" Godwin cackles manically as he stares down Estelle.
TURN CHANGE: ESTELLE
Estelle looks fearfully to Aeon, then at her Star Eater, seeming to use it as a source of strength.
"Draw! I summon Incarnaztec Priestess!"
Incarnaztec Priestess: Lv 4, LIGHT, ATK 700
An Aztec version of Luna appears on the field...
"And when she's summoned, i can call back another Incarnaztec from my grave! Come on up my Knight!"
Yusei's back...
Incarnaztec Knight: Lv 4, WIND, ATK 1700
"Now i tune Knight to my Priestess and synchro summon! Come on up, Incarnaztec Feather Dragon!"
Incarnaztec Feather Dragon: Lv 8, DARK, ATK 2800
Incarnaztec Feather Dragon ATK +500 = 3300
Dragon Paladin Leviathan ATK -700 = 2300
Dragon Paladin Beelzebub ATK -700 = 1800
"What? What is this?!" Godwin exclaims as his monsters weaken.
"My Feather Dragon weakens all your monsters by 700 Attack, and my Incarnaztecs gain 500 ATK from my field spell! Now Feather Dragon, Attack his Leviathan!"
"I play my other face down! Dragon Paladin Burning Facade! If you attack my weakest Dragon Paladin, I first draw a card, and then if it's a monster, i gain Life equal to the combined attack of your monsters, they're destroyed, and you take damage equal to the life I gained! In that order!"
Estelle's face goes blank as Godwin draws a card and reveals it, his Earthbound Immortal Wiraqocha Rasca. A blaze forms above him and envelops her field, scorching her and leaving her weak atop her temple.
ESTELLE LP: -6500 = 1500

Dragon Paladin Beelzebub ATK +700 = 2500
"I'm... Still Standing... Turn end..."
She looks uneasy on her feet. I need to end this before she's out too.

"Draw! Hold in there Estelle!"
5 cards in my hand... Godwin has used his backrow, i need to get rid of his monsters before he can summon that immortal.
"I activate the spell I drew, Diabolic Chain of Wishes! Using its ability I add Ignis of the Diabolic Dragons to my hand, since it's a level 3 I take 600 damage"
CAIUS LP -600 = 7400
It hurts.. I can only imagine how Aeon and Estelle are feeling right now...
"I set my pendulum scale with Ignis and Aqua... Allowing me to pendulum summon level 1 to 9!"
P-Scale, Caius: 0,10 (1-9)
"Now, Pendulum Summon! I call Abi and Heart Rose of the Diabolic Dragons from my hand, and Sa'an of the Diabolic Dragons from my extra deck!"

Godwin looks nervous, that's good. He's not seen this trick then.
"Blood Splatters across the skies, marking the ascension of my hope!

Godwin stares at my monster, his calm attitude returning to his face, which pisses me off.
"Caius... Don't hold back" Estelle mutters, still struggling to stand...
"I don't intend to... Satan has the same abilities as her lesser, meaning she's immune to destruction, and since she hit 5, she can attack you directly. But since i don't want you acting up... Attack his Beelzebub my mighty number!"
Godwin LP: -1300 = 24,700
"You worm... You dare to try and injure me? When Beelzebub would be destroyed, i can place it in my pendulum scale!"
P-Scale, Godwin: -,8
"That's... My turn."
He only has the immortal in his hand... This could be it.
TURN CHANGE: GODWIN
"Draw! I activate the spell card I drew, my own field spell, Dragon Paladin Tower of Babel! To activate it, I must pay 1000 life points!"
GODWIN LP: -1000 = 23,700
"Then it permits me to sacrifice one of your monsters in addition to my own to tribute summon... So i use our Xyz Monsters to summon my immortal!"
I feel my strength waning... my mark flaring, then vanishing, along with everyone else's as Godwin steals their power for himself.
Earthbound Immortal Wiraqocha Rasca: Lv 10, DARK, ATK 100
As my mark vanishes, and the immortal appears, I remember everything, like my meditation, which lets me realize something very important. 100 Attack means it's the lesser version of Wiraqocha Rasca... All the versions of cards have been very similar to... my world.
"My Immortal is imperfect, and with the power of the light and the dark i can reshape it into its true form! I sacrifice Wiraqocha Rasca to summon its true form from my deck! Come! Ultimate Earthbound Immortal Wiraqocha Rasca!"

"By skipping my battle phase, I can lower the life points of one of you to one! With Caius' hand empty, Estelle is a larger threat! So take my Condor's rage!"

There's a flash of purple light and a scream, Estelle flying off of her temple and landing on her back, like Aeon... Like Jack and Crow...
"Now Caius, with the two of them unable to duel, it's your turn."

OKAY THEN. That was fun to write. I must give my absolute thanks and praise to my close friends who help me with this fic, in particular to Crimson Priestess of Miracles. She graciously permitted me to use Estelle, the main character of her own 5ds fanfics, go check it out, she's awesome. Second to my personal friend who will remain nameless, but is the living version of Aeon, you know who you are buddy, you're genuinely awesome.
