25. Author's Note

Hello my lovelies!

I know, it's been ages.

For those of you who haven't checked out my new story 'Dixon's Daughter' and therefore haven't seen the A/N included in the very first chapter, I'd like to explain my absence.

Life has taken lots of twists and turns over the last year or so and been very hard.

Between deaths, moving, career changes, and other family issues I just haven't really had it in my to write.

To compound upon this, my laptop broke and it took quite a while to replace it.
When I lost my laptop, I was in the process of writing the promised updates. I had edited With Fires and Pillows completely and written, and was in the process of editing to publish, several new chapters.
WFAP wasn't all I lost though. I had rough drafts for several new chapters for 'Orion's Belt' and even a second chapter for 'Escape Before The Storm' and 'They Are Coming.'
Everything was lost when my computer died and I was so angry and heartbroken that everything was lost that I couldn't even look at writing for quite a while. I took a break and during that time recharged my juices.
Since then, I've come up with a new story, which is the aforementioned 'Dixon's Daughter'. I decided to give writing that one a try and it's gone fairly well. Now that my anger over losing everything I worked so hard on has faded, I decided it was time to get back to the stories that already have a following and that you lovely people are waiting for more of.

So with that in mind, thank you to everyone that has followed 'With Fires And Pillows' since its original posting. I love you all and you're all amazing. However, I've made good on my words of a revision. I have gone through and completely edited the whole thing, all 24 chapters and have reposted them in a whole new story. I thought about just updating this version but decided to leave it. I worked too hard on this one to just wipe it all away by deleting it or to completely tear it apart. So with that in mind, the new version will be posted and public today, April, 10th, 2021.

Just to be extra, extra clear, I have not abandoned this story. 'With Fires And Pillows' will continue, I've simply edited and reposted it. I hope you all enjoy the new version. I hope it flows a little more smoothly.
