All I Wanted

Chapter 25

Author's Note : Thank you all for the love and support. I will make it clear that Brooke and Lucas will become parents at some point in this story. They will have their 2 boys and a girl. How and when has yet to be determined. Thoughts.? Stay Tuned

This is our town

This is who we're meant to be

This is our town

Where our roots have grown so deep

This is our town.

The stunned couple stared at each other.

"What are Ted and Victoria doing here.? This isn't about business. I told you i fired Victoria a long time ago. And where the money goes they do. I had no idea about this." Brooke stated. Wanting to reassure her husband.

Lucas took ahold of her hand in his. Kissing it lightly.

"I believe you. There is no need to defend yourself. Ambushing us like this. Isn't out of character for them. You don't have to talk to them. I can make them leave. You could stay in the car.?" Lucas suggested.

"No i'm not hiding from them. I appreciate you wanting to protect me. But i'm not that teenage girl desperate for their love and approval. She came to her senses some time ago." Brooke replied.

"Let's see what they want them go inside and focus on us." Lucas proclaimed.

"Deal." Brooke said. Leaning over kissing him gently.

Lucas took her hand in his. Taking a deep breath as he walked towards the two other people in the world who hated him besides his father Dan Scott.

"Cookie! Look at you. It's been awhile." Ted Davis exclaimed. Focusing his gaze on his daughter. Then looking towards Lucas.

"I see you're still around Lucas. Isn't that nice." Ted said. Ignoring Lucas's presence as he continued to speak to his daughter.

"I have nothing to say to either of you. And i don't care why you're here. Just take care of whatever business is needed and leave us alone." Brooke stated.

"Now Brooke we came here hearing and seeing coverage of you're wedding on tv. We wanted you to be aware. We aren't just in town for business. We've made the decision to move back to Tree Hill. In light of you're marriage. To be more involved in this new stage of life you're starting." Victoria explained.

Brooke rolled her eyes. Not believing a word Victoria just said.

"It's a little to want to be parents to me now. I'm 31 years old highly successful. Married to the man i am endlessly in love with. Lucas is my family now. He's all i need. Now if the two of you will leave our home and not come back." Brooke proclaimed.

"You are Ted and Victoria Davis biological links to my wife. That's all. I lost both my parents and would give anything to have them back. To spend time with them. But they were taken from me. You had a lifetime of opportunity to repair the damage with Brooke and neither of you could be bothered."

"Brooke and I are married now. She is my first priority. Which means you try and come after her in any way. You'll have me to deal with. And you don't want that. Leave our property. Or we'll have the both of you removed my the police." Lucas threatened. As he turned to Brooke.

She kissed him hard. And lead the way into the home.

...

Lucas watched the limo containing Victoria and Ted drive away.

"They're gone you can relax babe. You have nothing to worry about. I warned them they come around here or anywhere else in town trying to make problems for you. I'll shut it down." Lucas reassured her.

"I'm just so fucking sick of this shit! Why can't they just disappear and stay gone! We were so happy during our honeymoon and the plane ride home. Them being here in town dropping by like this. Ruined everything! I hate them!" Brooke yelled. The emotion in her voice thick.

The expression on Lucas's face softened. He hated seeing the woman he loved hurting and angry especially because of people who didn't matter.

Lucas walked over to where she was and engulfed her in a hug.

Brooke hugged him back. Burying her face in his chest.

"I'm going to go unpack our suitcases. I want to make use of this energy before jet lag kicks in." Brooke announced.

"You do just that. Ted and Victoria are non existent factors. We are newlyweds and just got back from our honeymoon. They don't matter. No one else is important right now but you and me."

"I'll can make us dinner or we can order in. What are you in the mood for.?" Lucas questioned.

Brooke smiled sweetly shrugging her shoulders.

"You pick. I need to get out of these clothes and be comfortable. I'm in the mood for a bath after dinner." Brooke announced.

Lucas smiled back at her. "That's what i like to hear. Happy wife. Happy life is a saying i will gladly live by." He replied.

Brooke kissed him gently before turning from him and going up the stairs with their suitcases.

While Lucas went into the kitchen and looked through the take out menu drawer.

...

Sometime Later

With the fireplace warming up the living room. Brooke and Lucas ate their Italian food and savored the comfortable quiet between them.

Lucas focused his gaze on her. "Think positive. It's going to happen for us. You'll see." He stated.

Brooke let out a frustrated sigh.

"We have to wait 7 to 12c days before i can even take a pregnancy test. All that waiting and hope. Mixed with fear and impending disappointment."

"I just want this so bad. I love my clothing line and enjoyed the work it took to get this is different in every way."

"There is this gnawing. Aching. Hole inside of me. Being a mother. Experiencing unconditional love from a child we created from love and being able love and cherish a child with everything we have."

"It's so close. But there are couples that spend years trying to get pregnant. We don't know what our journey will be like. "

"Victoria never wanted me. Neither did Ted. I was just this object to fought over. What if i'm just like them.?" Brooke confessed. Her deepest fear.

Lucas wrapped his arms around her. "You are the complete opposite of them. You'll see that for yourself soon enough." He stated.

"I got a letter from a social worker. She said she was reached out to by Angie's parents." Brooke explained.

Lucas's eyes went wide at this revelation.

"Why did they reach out to a social worker.? And why did this woman reach out to you.? You gave Angie back years ago." Lucas questioned.

Brooke sighed deeply. "The call happened right before we were about to board. I was planning on telling you about it on the drive home but then Victoria and Ted happened. The social worker informed me that Angie's parents signed over their parental rights. And the parents gave her my contact information."

"Which lead to the social worker asking if i would be open to fostering Angie until she was able to find a more long lasting placement for her. I informed her that i was married now and had to talk things over with my husband before anything could be decided." Brooke proclaimed.

Lucas couldn't of been more caught off guard by this news.

"How old is Angie now.? Does she know her parents basically gave her up.?" Lucas asked.

"She's 8 years old. And her parents told her nothing. They dropped her off at school that day and just never came back." Brooke said.

"My god. That is heartbreaking." Lucas replied.

"She walked back home by herself to find her parents and all their stuff gone. I don't know how to feel or what we should do. Our time with Angie all those years ago was brief and meaningful."

"Fostering her is a huge transition from just babysitting until surgery. We need to think about this and really process what making this kind of change means." Brooke stated.

...

12 long stressed filled days later

Brooke screamed so loud she was sure glass would shatter.

Lucas engulfed her in a tight hug. And the two made out passionately.

"I'm pregnant!" She exclaimed happily. Placing Lucas's hand on her stomach.

"Mom and dad. We did it." Lucas said. The emotion in his voice thick.
