"The goddess is…preoccupied at the moment bun dum. I see no need to bother her with this bun dum."

The little man seemed to not be very forthcoming, but Claire didn't seem to notice and let out a sigh of relief.

Kai looked away from him and staired at the floor. When was he going to wake up?

He wanted to believe it was still all a trippy dream, but the longer this conversation went on the more he came to believe it was real.

"Thank you Chief." Said Claire, and with that another pop went off and he was gone.

Lucky rushed over to the spot where Chief had been standing, sniffing trying to figure out where he had gone.

"Well that was just lovely." Said Kai in his most sarcastic tone.

Claire let out a little nervous laugh and sat next to him.

"So…believe me now?"

Kai turned towards her not realizing how close her face would be to his.

Claire's blue eyes staired back at them slightly apologetic and sad. Kai still wasn't used to seeing her like this. Claire was usually full of fire and sarcasm.

"Well if I told anyone else, they'd lock me up a take my shack away, and we just can't have that, now can we?" he said sarcastically.

Claire let out another laugh and then a sigh of relief.

Kai found himself reaching out and brushing her hair from her face.

Claire's face suddenly went flush. Kai could feel her body shiver.

Was it the nerves from what had just happened? Or was it him doing that to her?

"So do you hate me?" She asked quietly.

"Claire you know I couldn't hate you…" He found himself saying it faster than he should.

It was true though; they had grown so close the last few months. Even though he knew she was the 'the Claireissa Bane" he didn't care. He didn't care that she had lied to him about sprites or a jerk ex-fiancé.

I didn't matter, even if he was currently slightly questioning his sanity.

He wanted her.

Claire's Point of View

Kai's hand left her face as quickly as it reached out to her. She could feel the heat spread across her face.

She knew she had feelings. Probably for a lot longer than she realized. It was so stupid to fall right back into something after Toney, but she wanted him.

Seeing him handle everything and still show her compassion just made it all the more clear.

It had never felt like this with Tony. With Tony she had just gone through the motions because it felt like what she had to do. They just started dating and that was it.

With Kai it had started out with frustration and irritation but had turned into so much more.

Kai was kind and brave. He had jumped into the ocean for her for god's sake.

Now he knew her secret, well just one of hers that was.

"Claire?"

She snapped out of her deep thought.

"Sorry I was just thinking." She said looking into his big brown eyes.

"Yeah well I've got a lot my mind too." Kai laughed looking back. He smiled at her while he chuckled.

"So, do you think its true?" he asked.

"What?" she said slightly confused.

"That you and Ann are descended from some crazy lady who lived in a lake?"

She let out a giggle. Kai always knew how to ruin a moment with humor.

"Well I don't know for sure, but Ann has her moments."

They both laughed. Probably thinking about the other day when they were sitting at the bar with Grey and Cliff. A tourist girl who had had one too many drinks tried fliting with Cliff.

Cliff had been too polite to say or do anything, but Ann finally had enough and went over and told the girl to leave her bar or she'd pull her out by her hair herself.

Cliff pulled Claire aside not too long after and asked her if she could help him find a blue feather.
