It was a few days since the incident in Elsa's private chambers. Since then, she had not spoken a single word to Anna, and she found herself alone at the dinner table.

The door opened and Kai stepped in.

"Excuse me your grace, but I wonder if I can talk to you?"

"Kai, you do not even have to ask that. What worries you?" and just like that, she knew what he was here to talk about.

Before Kai had a chance to say anything Elsa said, "I am sure Gerda is okay. The Southern Isles are known to have an infamous family, so it may be a while before she returns. Maybe that is why the ship has not returned yet, but the captain on board is the most capable one we have so the ship will probably be here soon!"

She gave Kai a soothing smile and Kai left the room. That was true, though. Gerda should have been back from the Southern Isles by know, and Elsa had that old familiar feeling that something had gone wrong!

She thought of her sister.

Anna did not spend as much time at the castle as she usually did, and she had stopped visiting Elsa in her private chambers.

Elsa was mad at her.

Anna had made her feel incompetent as a queen, but she found herself forgive Anna for it!

It was days ago now, and now she was not talking to her sister. This had led her to seek out someone else's company.

One day she had been looking for Kai as she walked past the library.

"Tamas would be in there ..." she told herself, entering the library.

It was a huge room filled with rows and rows of books and other sources of knowledge. Her parents have had and immortal thirst for knowledge of many kinds, but also literature.

"Tamas, are you in here?"

"Yeah, I am down at the far end of the room."

Elsa passed through rows of bookcases on the way down, wondering what some of these books contained of secrets and knowledge.

Tamas was reading a book.

"Hey Tamas" Elsa said. "How are you feeling?"

The Hunchback put the book down.

"I was right in the middle of reading your majesty."

"Is that a good book?"

"Well, this book provides some answers to some of my questions, so it is a very good one!"

"Well, Tamas, I was wondering if you could tell me a little bit about yourself? I hardly know anything about you."

"Well, I come from and have spent most of my life in the Southern Isles, your majesty."

Elsa tensed up a little. She did not expect him to be from there.

Elsa continued, "I wondered and forgive myself for being curious why you really came here in the first place."

"What?"

"You came all the way from the South to see my powers. That is what you told me, but I do not think you told me the entire truth. Why was it so important to you?"

Tamas did not say anything, and Elsa thought he was thinking of an answer to come up with, even if his face did not reveal a thought.

Then he said, "Years ago my wife died."

That caught Elsa completely off guard. Although she hated to admit it, she had a hard time seeing this hunchback being married to anyone.

"She died when the roof of the house fell on top of us, she died and I lived, I was in a coma. We had two children together and when I finally woke up, I had been in a deep coma for two years and my daughters were gone, I have not seen them since, and for all I know they are dead just like my wife, I had nothing else left, no need to stay in the Southern Isles, so I decided to leave. My friend was the captain of a ship and he said to me that he would do me a favor and take me with him aboard his ship. I heard wonderful tales of a young queen and her amazing beauty and magical powers and I just had to see it for myself and now I am sitting in the library studying and getting knowledge!"

"Tamas had a wife and children," Elsa thought. "This man has lost more than I ever lost in my life."

"What kind of knowledge do you hope to gain?"

"I have an immortal appetite for knowledge. People say power is power, but I say they are wrong! Knowledge, that is the true power when you think about it. The drink I gave you, I have been able to produce it because I gained knowledge about it, when I picked up and read an old book. It helped you right?"

The more Elsa heard the more she came to realize that it was not just an immortal appetite for knowledge, he had.

It was an obsession!

"Yes. Your drinks have really helped me a lot!"

"You have to see what other elixirs I can make! I can even make one that gives a woman the ability to have children, even if her body does not have that ability. I can make an elixir that gives people enhanced strength and a lot more!"

As Elsa sat at the dinner table that night after Kai left, she thought to herself that Tamas was really a curious guy.

Kai came in again.

"Is there anything you wish for your majesty?"

"Yes, will you bring me Tamas?"

Kai came back two minutes later.

"I will have a private conversation with Tamas Kai."

Kai looked at her, then to Tamas, then I bowed and left the room.

After Kai was gone, she said, "I was wondering if you would have dinner with me Tamas?"

"I want to your majesty."

"Come sit next to me."

Tamas approached her seat, sat down, and put some food on his plate. Potatoes and pork chops with gravy.

Elsa found herself happy again.

"I have been thinking about the bad dreams, you have your grace. I think they may be visions of the future!"

The happiness she had felt was gone right in the blink of an eye.

"Are you sure?"

When Elsa did not want his mysterious elixir, Tamas would sometimes ask a little about her dreams.

"The fact that you have dreamed these dreams, which are almost the same, may suggest visions. You have not dreamed any good ones when you do not ask for the elixir?"

"No, I have not, and it drives me insane."

"Well, there is no need to go all insane about it."

They sat eating their dinner in silence.

"Where is your sister?"

"I do not know, and I do not care. One minute she is the best sister in the world, then she suddenly becomes a dragon and right now, we are taking a pause from each other!"

"What did she do?"

"She gave me an order, yelled at her Queen."

"What did she get so upset if I may ask?"

"The Sultan's big ice order will take a long time to complete. It will take many years to complete the order. I think she got mad because she does not get to see her boyfriend as often as she does now!"

"So that was the reason?"

"Yeah, I am sure of it."

"Then talk to her..."

"I do not want to talk to her right now."

Tamas put his fork down.

"I want you to listen to me now your majesty ..."

Elsa could sense something in his voice that she did not like.

"Your sister almost died for you, and with that act she came back to life. She has also spent most of her life alone in this great castle ignored by you. Besides, for the first time in forever she is finally happy to find herself a boyfriend and then she is told she does not get to see him often! Do you want her to be lonely for the rest of her life or what!?"

Elsa was speechless.

No one had ever talked to her like that, and as his words began to sink in, she realized he was right.

"I will talk to her when I see her..."

"I think that would be a good idea, Your Majesty, I am sure she will be very happy about it, you two sisters must stick together!"

"I know ... I know ..."

"Then do it ... The last thing you need my queen is more drama... am I right in that?"

He was right, Elsa thought to herself, and she realized that she had acted with a big ego in front of her sister, and she knew that the wisest course of action was to apologize to her. Then she would try to explain to her sister why it was important that this ice deal came through, why it was so important for this deal to be successful.

If this deal were successful, it would forever cement Elsa's reputation for being a skilled leader, and Arendelle would have to be a kingdom that was effective when it came to work. All that was important for the future and stability of the kingdom.

She thought her sister would really feel lonely if Kristoff got more work hours, but every second was important and no second could go to waste.

Elsa wanted to ask Tamas what he thought of her as Queen of Arendelle, but she was afraid his answer would not be a good one, but she gathered her courage and asked, "Tamas, may I ask you a question?"

"It depends on what kind of question it is..."

"It's not a personal one..."

"Then go on..."

"Tamas, what do you think of me as a queen?"

Tamas did not look at her, but then he replied, "I think you are young and beautiful, and you care about your subjects and most of them are happy because of your rule. You have brought new wealth to the kingdom and most are grateful for it, but I heard that when you lost control of your powers last time, there were two deaths..."

Elsa nodded silently..."

"Anita and Matilda..." Elsa thought to herself. They had fallen victim to the snow, and no matter how Elsa turned that incident in her head, she knew that their deaths were all her fault and nobody else's.

She wished she could travel back through time and right the mistakes of the past, but she could not do it. The mother and her child were dead, and nothing could bring them back to life.

Tamas finished his meal and got up to leave, but before he left, he said, "Well, your majesty, I will go to bed, but before I leave you, I will tell you a truth: The bad deed does not wash away the good deed, and the good deed does not wash away the bad deed. It is up to you to find out how many bad or good deeds you will make in this life!"

With these words, he left her alone...

"The bad deed does not wash away the good deed, and the good deed does not wash away the bad deed..." She could not help but think that that verdict contained more truth than other sentences combined. She had to live with the act that she had failed to protect her people at that time, and she had to live with the fact that not all subjects of the kingdom were loyal to her.

It made her question herself how to deal with the people she knew were not loyal to her. They had to be stopped unless she would suffer traitors from within her own kingdom. The people who were not faithful to her had to disappear before they could do any real damage to her kingdom.

She knew how to deal with it.

The first thing she wanted to do was talk to her sister and the other thing she wanted to do was to summon her spies and let them loose in her kingdom.
