FOUR BOYS: The Path We Seek
Chapter 25: Wally, Conner, Kaldur and Richard
"Be the change that you wish to see in the world."
It's the oddest thing when you're able to live between the ticks of a second. When you're in speed mode your perception is so fast, you have time to think about how much you're going to hurt before you hurt. [...] But my pain impulses haven't reached my brain. I can feel them traveling up my spine. -Wally West
...Central City...
"AAH!" screams of people fleeding the scene.
"Ouch!" Kid Flash- his new alias- said as he slipped and collided against a car that left by its owner as soon as Captain Cold's attack had started.
"You alright, Kid?"
He smiled at the Scarlet Speedster, "Yeah no biggie. I gotta say this, I didn't think an ice villain would be found stealing from a small jewelry shop." he teased as he turned to the infuriated villain.
The started running circles around Captain Cold, as he tried to get them with the freeze beam failing over and over again.
"Stealing ice? Seriously? Isn't that a big cliche even for Captain Cold?" Kid laughed openly.
"You villains just don't get it. You will never win." He placed his new red goggles over his eyes as he launched directly towards the villain.
Captain Cold turned to shoot at him, he evaded it ice brushing his shoulder. He took the gun out of the villains reach.
"YOU- ACK!" Flash wasted no time and punched the villain straight in the face.
Flash brought his hands to his waist staring at the unconscious Captain Cold, the claps and cheers from the returning people soon surrounded them.
Kid Flash smiled, waving happily at the attention. "Calm down, Kid." Flash said yet incredibly amused at the younger speedster's antics.
"Oh please, can you blame me. I've never had this much attention." he turned to the senior speedster, Flash raised an eyebrow.
Kid Flash smirked, "Besides you are not one to talk. You'll chat it off with the cops, the bystanders, with Cold even!"
At the Flash expression of being caught Kid Flash couldn't help but burst into laughs.
Flash chuckled in turn, "You've won this one, kiddo. I'll give you that."

From the momment I opened my eyes in that Cadmus Pod, there's been one more thing that I've wanted and feared... To know what is to be Superman.-Conner Kent
...Smallville...
"Conner, you coming?" Clark said as he closed the hood of the blue farm truck, having checked it as it had stopped on the road.
"Ah yes, sorry." Conner said , he stared at the vast terrain ahead, the lonely road, the cattle, the hot and humid air.
As they both boarded the truck he couldn't help but ask, "Is this where you live?"
Clark sighed as he placed both hands on the wheel, looking ahead, "I live in many places, but this is where I know I come from and will always return..." Clark scratched the back of his head, "I hope it can become that sort of place for you too."
Conner's eyes widened, he didn't know what to say, so he nodded.
The soft breeze once again returning to his face as they made their way to the Kent's Farm.
"Is it always so calm here?"
Clark was surprised at how talkative the young had turned to be, he was not upset about it. The man smiled, "Pretty much, the biggest threat we've faced are some small tornadoes and hurricane in seasons."
Conner smiled softly, "Its a nice place." He saw the aproaching the barns, a lovely couple of elders already getting out of the white painted house.
Clark parked the vehicle. "It is indeed. Come on Conner."
He nodded and smiled happily at the scene awaiting for him.

I was a general, but behaved like a soldier, and sacrificed myself. I am not fit for command, and I resigned as team leader, but I cannot shake this burden to R even in this time- not yet. It appears I must withdraw my resignation.-Kaldur'ahm
...Poseidonis...
Kladur found himself at last in the underwater Kingdom. A beautiful and vast hallways filled with status and gold welcoming him and King Orin out of the zeta beam.
He couldn't help but think this place was too beautiful to calm for him to be admitted here. He remebered after all, he had been tasked of ruling over this kingdom forcing it into chaos. He stopped walking looking as his feet.
King Orin sensed the other had stopped, he did not turn back but instead assured, "It is alright Kaldur'ahm..." Kladur stared at the King.
The man looked above his shoulder, "You begin a new life in Atlantis, you may choose a new designation if you choose to become a hero when the time is right."
He was left speechless, "Am I permitted to?"
The King smiled, "Ruling Atlantis is more than enough responsability for any one person. It was always my intent for somebody to become the hero of Atlantis. When you are ready Kaldur'ahm I will support your decision."
Kaldur nodded gratefully, "You honor me, my King." 'My King felt right, not like when he was supposed to address the Light.'
"Your work with the Justice League honors all of Atlantis." It was a female voice that had joined by them.
Queen Mera was astonishly beautiful, she wasted no time and smiling and offering Kaldur her hand for him to kiss.
King Orin smiled, "The Queen and I as well as every inhabitant of Poseidonis are very impressed."
"Grattitude."

Some people don't want to be saved. Because saving means changing, and changing is always harder than staying the same. It takes courage to face yourself in the mirror and look beyond the reflection to find the you that you should have been. -Richard 'Dick' Grayson
...Gotham City...
"I believe with this you've clearly decided to take the boy in." Alfred said as he watched the newly renovated gym in the manor. One that had been set with acrobatic equipment and high placed they knew the boy loved despite his now known past.
Bruce streched himself as he finished placing the last of the equipment. "Perhaps that was decided since the begining."
"Do tell."
"Richard needed to help bring the ones responsable for the murder of his family to justice... So he wouldn't turn out like me."
Alfred remained silent pondering on the reality of the last statement.
"Oh... wow." The soft mumble by the door had the older men jump slightly, Richard stood looking in awe at the dangling rings above all the other new sets.
He turned to Bruce expectantly, "Is that..."
Bruce smiled, "It is."
He turned to Alfred, "Can I..."
Alfred smiled, "Fly to your hearts content, Robin."
Robin grinned he wasted no time testing all the new features installed in the gym of his home, alongside Bruce Wayne and Alfred Pennyworth.

...Mount Justice...
"When will Rob be back, I want to see this new movie so bad, besides I brought a new game to test out on our new brand console."
"You should thank Rob for convincing Batman on allowing you to have games here."
"Hey! that was the deal, I brought the game and he brought the console."
"Cause that's so fair." Artemis shook her head at her impassive and whinny boyfriend, "Come on Wally, you've waited at least 2 weeks to buy it, you can wait at least two more minutes for Rob to return from his mission."
Wally threw his head back, "Babe, you've got no idea what 2 minutes is in time... I'll grow a beard." She snorted at the idea.
Conner and Megan walked into the living room holding the popcorn bowls, pizza boxes, perfectly baked cookies and many soda cans for their movie marathon.
Megan kissed Superboy's cheek before settling in the big sofa. Conner smiled, he turned to Aqualad, their leader as he sat casually on the loveseat. " You think they will be back soon?" he eyed Wally, "Or at least before Wally inhales all the pizza?"
"HEY!"
Aqualad grimaced, "I have no knowledge on the status of the mission in Gotham City, but perhaps Robin will be back soon eno-"
Recognize Robin B02
"ROOOB" Wally cried as he sped after their missing teamate and friend.
He came to a sudden stop as Batman and Robin were still talking before the hero turned to the speedster, nodded and left. Perhaps back home or to the Watchtower.
"Everyhting alright Robin?" Wally said, the raven turned and smiled, "Yep. Is there still pizza left?"
"DUDE!"
Rocket laughed, "I've guarded everything for you, Boy Wonder." she said just as the glowing spheres sorrounding the food disapeared.
Aqualad turned to the youngest, "Welcome back, Robin."
The other's present smiled and nodded as well.
Robin smiled.
At least for now. Freedom had been achieved.
