Was on a major writers block for awhile after my last chapter since I wasn't too pleased with how it turned out. It did feel rushed I'll admit and wanted to make it longer. Also finals really hit hard for me so I had to take some time off to focus on the semester. Thanks all of you for waiting.

Chapter 25: Magic in Training

Around the same time David had left, "So what kind of fun things you do around here in this school?" Eddy questioned taking a sip of some tea.

"Oh, just the usual." Akko shrugs, "Magic training and broom flying. The important stuff for a witch." She crosses her arms and nods determinedly.

Lotte faces the party and includes more details, "There are also classes that teach history, language, writing, and all forms for magic."

"I think that sounds rather exhilarating." Double D commented.

"That's the boring stuff though." Akko huffed.

"Don't forget the brewing of potions?" Sucy adds.

Ed perks up with excitement, "Could you make Ed a potion?"

The zombified witch responds, "Sure. What kind of potion?"

"Yeah Ed. What kind of potion are you thinking about?" Eddy questions giving his friend a confused look.

The Ed-boy goes on to express his idea, "A potion that can transform you into any monster from a movie or comic. Like a giant chicken with a serpent body! That can fly and breathe fire!"

He receives some odd stares from everyone in the group with Barbara and Hannah giving uncomfortable looks.

Barbara leans close to Hannah and mutters. "These people don't seem all that normal." Hannah nods in agreement.

Dipper chuckles at Ed's comment, "Well Ed... if you could turn yourself into any monster then our Grunkle Stan would surely have you displayed for the Mystery Shack."

"I bet he'd make an awesome looking monster." Mabel chimes in on the idea.

Eddy leans in towards Dipper and Mabel, "I wouldn't encourage him if I were you." He says solemnly.

"Sounds like a crazy potion to make. ...But if you're willing to be my human test subject then maybe I can brew something up." Sucy says in an eerie excitement.

Ed is about to answer when Double D intervenes, "No! I mean... Ed can be a little naïve sometimes. Try not to take his words too seriously."

"I would have to agree with him there, Sucy." Lotte advises as well. "Your potions aren't as safe for someone worth trying out on."

Sucy lets out a deep sigh, "Fine... it was worth a shot though."

Ed pouts in disappointment. Twilight puts her hoof on his shoulder for comfort to assure him. "It's alright Ed. We'll try something a little safer next time."

Izuku watches from the side munching on snacks when he looks over to Ryuko and Mako chowing down on some food. "Do you guys understand most of David's friends?" He murmurs.

Ryuko swallows then responds, "Can't say I do. He was the only guy Mako and I ran into in our school. We joined up the same time you did."

"David sure knows some interesting people though. That's for sure." Mako enlightens.

Diana finishes her tea and sets the empty cup down gently, "Sorry to not be engaging in this conversation." She stands back up onto her feet with Barbara and Hannah. "But I must be going now."

"Huh?" Akko gawks at her, "You're leaving already?

"I have important things to attend to. You'll have to clean up once you've finished."

"What! You're not gonna help!?"

"These are your guests. And this was your idea. It only makes sense for you to clean up after yourself." Diana says in a bored tone.

Akko groans at her.

"We'll gladly help." Izuku assures her. "It's no problem at all."

"Thank you." Diana formally nods then takes her leave with the two other witches.

Mabel observes Diana as she exits and looks over to Akko, "I can't help but feel like you two have a rocky friendship going on?"

Akko notices Mabel's comment and replies, "You can tell?" She lets out a deep sigh, "She may be Luna Nova's top student but I wish she'd lighten up once in a while."

"Tell me about it, sista." Mabel expresses. "These popular girls really need to have fun more often."

"Exactly!" Akko nods in agreement.

"Well in any case. We should probably finish up here and go look for David." Double D insisted.

"Ed cleans up now!" Ed grabs hold of the sheet and yanks it up, throwing everything on it into the air.

Twilight reacts instantly and uses her magic to levitate all the objects in midair before falling. Everyone but Ed who were sitting down looked up in awe; Mako applauded the unicorn's performance.

"Incredible." Izuku gapes in awe. "I never knew unicorns were capable of such magic."

"You should see what else she can do." Mabel tells him.

"Ed! Could you try to be a little less reckless?" Double D lectures him.

"No can-do Double D."

Twilight neatly folds the sheet and Lotte uses her magic to set all the dishes into a basket. Once cleaned up the party heads out to search for David.

During the same time, David continues conversing with Chariot.

"First things first, let's start off with what you know." Chariot said to the young man. "When was the first time you realized your magic."

David takes a moment to think before he answers. "Back when I was training. I was so frustrated at one-point lightning shot out from my hand."

"Lightning...?"

The young man nods, "That's right. It was actually pretty cool too. But I've only used it by accident a couple of times. And hadn't told anyone else this just yet, aside from my trainers."

"I see..." Chariot ponders and explains, "It is usually rare for someone to use magic, especially one who's not from a long line of witches or wizards like Akko. Some magic is performed through special objects like the student's wands or a stave. But yours was somehow channeled through your own body."

"If my own body can unleash magic then how do I know what magic to use and when to use it?" The young man questions her.

"Let's start with your lightning ability." She suggests positively and begins to demonstrate, "To use lightning magic reach your hand out as if you are trying to summon it." David does so as told. "Now then, visualize yourself. Try to focus."

David tries and focuses on Chariot's words. A brief moment of silence of nothing happens and David stops what he is doing, "My arm's getting tired."

Chariot gives him a disappointed look, "We've only just started. Try and focus a little harder."

David continues once more when a voice calls out to him.

"Hey...! David!"

To the young man's surprise, it was Eddy followed by everyone including Akko, Lotte, and Sucy.

"What's going on?" Twilight asked. She takes notice of Chariot now with a different hair color, "Huh? Professor Ursula? Is that you?" The unicorn asked bewildered.

Chariot lets out a light gasp of surprise, "Oh! Uh... you see..." She struggles to explain.

"Professor Ursula's real name is Chariot." Akko calmly tells her and the party.

"Huh?"

"She's really a famous witch who goes by the name of Shiny Chariot. But she teaches in secret to avoid drawing too much attention. Isn't that right professor?" Akko looks back at her with a wink and grin.

Chariot smiles and nods, "That's right."

"Nice save." Sucy mutters over Akko's shoulder.

"What are you and David here for?" Akko then brought up.

"Teaching him magic..." The professor let it slip.

"MAGIC!" Everyone let out in shock. They rush up to David bombarding him with questions.

Eddy grabs hold of the young man's coat and pulls him in. "Tell us Dave! Have you had magic all this time and been holding out on us?"

A familiar magical magenta aura forms around Eddy and yanks him off. Twilight steps in and says, "Leave that questioning to me." She then uses her magic to pull on David's coat bringing him closer to her. "Tell me David. You've had magic all this time and you didn't bother telling me?"

"That's what I was saying?" Eddy remarked.

Double D, Dipper, and Mabel step in and come between.

"Everyone settled down!" Double D maintained.

"Yeah!" Mabel joins in, "Sure David's got superpowers now but let's at least hear what he has to say."

"Thanks you guys." David said in relief.

Mabel faces him with an excited expression, "But seriously though. You have powers now!" She squeals bouncing up and down.

"Yeah..." David answers in a serious tone, "I wanted to tell you guys this back in HQ. During my training with Aang and Zuko I somehow gained the use of mana."

"Mana?" Akko lets out, "Is that a different kind of use for magic?"

"You could say that."

"Impressive." Lotte examines. "Where did you gain such magic?"

"From someone else." David says secretively.

"Someone else?" Izuku remarks. "Is this person someone powerful? So powerful they were able to pass on their magic onto you?" He prattles.

David stares blankly at Izuku for a moment before responding, "...Let's not get too carried away now, Izuku."

'Could he be referring to Arokh?' Twilight thought to herself. "So why did you come to Professor Ur- I mean Chariot to teach you about magic?" The purple unicorn questioned.

"I wanted to learn more about his magic and how he can use it." Chariot tells her, "So I offered to train him. But we've only just begun though."

"That's so amazing Chariot." Akko beamed. "So, what kind of magic are you starting off with first?"

"Lightning!"

"Lightning?" Akko and everyone exclaim.

"Zappity Zap Zap!" Ed uttered.

"But since he uses magic differently than witches do, we're working on how to activate it."

Twilight looks to David, "You mean, you haven't figured it out yet?"

"No..." David admits in a deep voice. "It's still hard to understand after using it only two times back in Ba Sing Se. Lightning just randomly zapped out from my hand. I don't know how it got summoned."

"Ed knows how to use zap zap!" Ed raises his hand.

"That's not the lightning they're referring to, Ed." Double D remarks.

"Hmm~" Izuku ponders.

Ryuko takes notice, "You hatchin' an idea?"

Izuku nods and calls out, "Excuse me! Professor! Could we have a moment with David?"

"O-of course..."

He looks at Ryuko and Mako instructing them to bring David over. The two nodded in understanding and went up to the young man each grabbing an arm. He's dragged away to the sides leaving a confused Chariot to watch.

"What's going on?"

"What does it look like we're doing?" Ryuko remarks.

"We're going to help you use your powers." Mako answers.

Once they release him, he faces Izuku now with a determined look. "David. I need you to listen to me. There may be a way for you to achieve your power."

"Huh?" Akko gawks. "You know magic too, Izuku?"

Izuku shakes his head 'no', "I'm not used to magic. But if it's anything like using a quirk then David could summon his power the same way I can summon mine."

"Oh...!" Both Akko and Lotte let out in awe.

"I don't think that's completely accurate." Sucy dully states.

"What do you mean?" Izuku looks at her confused.

She explains, "Magic works by channeling its energy through wands. It's not like using a superpower or anything."

"Channeling energy, huh?" David says.

Sucy looks at the young man and nods, "That, and most witches and wizards have a stronger usage of magic since it comes from their heritage."

"You do have a point there." Lotte admits softly.

"Talk about a real mood killer, huh?" Eddy remarks to David.

"She's not wrong." Twilight lectures him. "Like Sucy says, you need something to channel your magic in just as I'm able to channel my magic through the use of my horn."

David lets out a deep irritable sigh, "Man... I didn't think learning how to use magic was going to be this hard."

Ryuko lets out a huge sign, "So much for Deku's advice."

"Let's not jump to conclusions just yet you guys!" Akko calls out, "Izuku should at least share his idea."

Izuku shows crimson cheeks towards Akko after hearing her comment, "T-thank you, Akko." He snaps back to focus, "Right... Magic or not you can still channel its energy, David. I can show you how it works when I use my quirk."

Izuku activates his ability throughout his entire body with everyone in awe. Akko stares with shiny wide eyes of amazement. After a brief moment he stops the flow throughout his body.

"How did you do that?" David asked, astonished.

"If you're trying to channel energy the same way I was with my quirk you need to be more flexible." Izuku advises, "Think of your magic simply as a body function of yourself."

"Huh..." The young man let out. "Sounds like the same kind of lesson one of my trainers told me during swordplay." He takes a good look at his arm before reciting his words. "A sword is an extension of imagination and creativity. When wielding it it's a part of you."

"Sounds like a very wise trainer you have." Lotte comments.

"He is." David replies. He clutches his fist with a positive outlook and faces Izuku. "Thanks for the advice, Deku. You as well Sucy and Twilight."

"Glad to be of service." Sucy smiles warmly.

Izuku rubs the back of his head chuckling, "Seems to me you've figured out the rest all on your own."

"At least you gave our friend some encouraging advice." Double D remarked.

"I'm surprised he didn't come to me first for help." Twilight said sounding a bit disappointed.

David returns to Chariot once more now feeling confident. "Are you ready? She asked the young man.

He nods and gets into a stance raising his arm out. After some focusing the tips of his fingers begin to spark up and a zap of electrical energy blasts out from his hand.

Everyone gasps in awe with Chariot being impressed. "Excellent work David. I can see some encouragement from your friends really helped."

"Are there any other magical spells he can use?" Akko asked. She receives some odd surprising stares from the Eds, Pines, and Mako.

"You mean there's more?" Dipper lets out in awe.

"Of course." Twilight answers, "Magic isn't just one ability. A unicorn such as myself can cast a variety of different spells including levitating and teleporting."

"Does this mean David could do those things as well?" Mabel questions.

"Those are different kinds of magic for casting spells." Chariot politely answers. "The way I see it, David's magic is more defensive. It's possible he can summon different abilities with his kind of magic."

"So lightning isn't just my only magic then?" David said.

She looks at him and nods, "Precisely. Elemental magic would be a decent skill for you to learn." She suggests.

"Elemental magic?" Double D comments. "That would mean he can create Ice, Earth, Fire, and Wind magic?"

"Whoa! Then David could have the same bending abilities as Avatar Aang." Dipper remarks.

"Who's Avatar Aang?" Lotte whispers to Twilight.

"He's another friend who we met along the way."

"I would encourage you to practice more of your lighting magic. But I suppose we could change things around for you. Which would you like to start off first?"

David takes a moment to think. "Oh! Me-me! I have an idea!" Mabel shouts out to get his attention, waving her arm in the air. "You should try ice magic first. Just like Elsa."

"Ice Magic, huh?" Eddy says. "Then we'll have two ice magic power users by David and that ice queen."

"Wouldn't Else be amazed." Double D remarks.

"Wait? You guys know someone with ice magic?" Akko questions. "How many people do you know?"

"There's a lot to go over." Mabel playfully replies.

"Brr..." Mako shivers. "Wouldn't things get a little cold?"

"It's only water magic. It only turns into ice once you manipulate it. It won't have any effect on our surroundings thankfully." Chariot assures her. She then goes to demonstrate, "Water magic consists of generating and controlling ice and water. The strength and duration of the two generated depends on the amount of magic power you possess."

"In other words, David here can project water-based attacks to casting icy storms or blizzards." Twilight states.

"You are absolutely right, Twilight." Chariot praises her. "Now just like using lightning, reach out your hand and visualize yourself using ice."

"Okay." David responds. He adjusts his arm then slowly raises it out. After some brief concretion the young man slowly cast ice out from his hand before a hail of it fires out giving off a small breeze and freezing a path on the ground. Everyone but Chariot shivers.

Ryuko and Mako wrap their arms around their body's trying to keep themselves warm. "H-hey... Dave! Try to control that ice power of yours." Ryuko exclaims.

"I knew I should've gotten a sweater." Mako jitters.

"Don't worry! I've brought plenty of sweaters for this kind of occasion." Mabel tells her.

"That was rather a powerful use of your magic there." Chariot stated. She examines the ground in front of David covered in ice. "I don't suppose you've used this much mana before, have you."

"Not exactly. Did I really summon that much magic into making ice?" The young man takes a good look at his hand.

Chariot gets a little nervous and tries to explain, "Now David... you should try to take it slow. Who knows how much mana you have to create magic?"

"Are you kidding me? This is great! I have the ability to create different spells at my own will now."

"Try something else!" Eddy encourages.

"Do wind! No! Do fire!" Ed came up with different ideas.

"Now wait just a minute." Double D intervenes. "Chariot is the professor here. David should pay more attention on what she has advised him to do-"

"Do both! Or all kinds of magic!" Akko cheers him on.

"Even when she's not the one practicing magic Akko still gets out of hand." Sucy murmurs to herself.

David excitedly raises his arm up in the air to summon a windstorm around him slightly blowing everyone with Chariot, Dipper, and Double D holding on to their hats.

"David! Settle down! Don't use too much magic!" Chariot cries out.

He then casts balls of flames far out from everyone which Twilight immediately reacts by creating magic forcefields to keep the fireballs from burning anything around.

"I know he's really excited about magic, but I'm beginning to think he's going a little overboard." Fretted Lotte as she watches from behind deeply worried.

David readies to unleash more fire magic when very small flames are let out. He takes a step back, "Huh? What's going on?" The young man tries casting fire again but results in weaker flames than before.

Double D rubs his head, confused. "Is it possible you've must've used up all your magic?"

"No, that can't be the case." Twilight begs to differ.

"Aw man! Is it over already?" Eddy said sounding disappointed.

"Why isn't it working...?" David grunts looking at his hand.

"You lost your magic for a moment because you used up too much mana." Chariot tells him.

"Huh?"

"When you've exhausted your magic so much, you're rendered powerless until you can restore it back."

"Does this mean I can't use my magic as much as I would want?" David asks her.

"Since you're getting used to magic, it may take some time until you can fully extend your magic abilities. I would highly suggest you study and practice."

"There's also some magical items you can try out that possess magic power if you are in any need to use magic right away." Lotte suggests.

"Good to hear." David said.

"This got boring real fast." Eddy mutters.

"So teach? Does this mean David's training is over with?" Ryuko asks.

"For now at least. He should take some time to recharge his magical energy."

"Hey Professor?" Akko raises her hand, calling out Chariot's attention, "What if there's another way for David to restore his magic?"

"Another source?" Chariot expresses her confusion.

She nods, "Yeah! Like we should take him to the Sorcerer's Stone!"

Lotte and Sucy gasp upon their friend's advice.

"The Sorcerer's Stone?" Twilight let out, "You mean the same one in the New Moon Tower?" She gives a bright smile.

"That's the one." Akko winks as the purple pony stomps her hooves to the ground with excitement.

"Now wait just a minute, Akko!" Chariot halts her. "You know the tower is off limits to anyone including outsiders."

"But that's only for the labyrinth. Don't you wanna see if the Sorcerer's Stone has an effect on David's magic?" Akko insisted.

"Maybe we should heed Chariot's advice Akko." David pitches in, "I don't wanna cause any trouble for anyone."

"Thank you for showing your concerns, David." Chariot thanked him with a warm smile. "Since we did come this far in learning your magic I suppose we could visit the Sorcerer's Stone."

"Wait! Are we going to the New Moon Tower then?" Akko lets out in shock receiving a nod from her professor as she then shouts out in joy, "Yay...!"

"We'll need permission from the Headmistress first." Chariot then brings up.

Akko's mood soon changes to disappointment. "Ahh...~"

"Typical Akko as always." Sucy remarks with Lotte letting out a sweat drop.

Chariot turns to face David and the rest of his crew, "When you're already to go, meet me at the New Moon Tower." She instructed. Everyone acknowledges in agreement.

Here's where I'll end things off. This was going to be a longer ending but was kinda itching to have it updated. Hope you all enjoyed and please leave a review if you could.

One more thing I'd like to say. Just a reminder I would like to ask you guys not to message me your ideas for my story. If you want to pitch me feedback on ideas or suggestion please leave that in the reviews. I don't really check my messages as much as I do for reviews.
