Breakdown: In Your House: 27/9/1998
WWF breakdown: In Your House was live at the Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Before the event officially began, three matches were taped for Sunday Night Heat. Golga defeated Mosh, The Hardy Boyz (Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy) defeated Kaientai (Men's Teioh and Funaki), and The Disciples of Apocalypse (8-Ball and Skull) defeated Billy Gunn in a Handicap match.
The first match of the event was between Edge and Owen Hart. Edge gained the early advantage after a dropkick. After Edge sent Hart outside the ring, Edge attempted a move from the apron, which Hart countered into a powerslam. Hart gained the advantage afterwards until Edge performed an electric chair facebuster as Hart climbed the turnbuckles to regain the advantage. Hart eventually countered a suplex attempt into a bridging German suplex. Hart then missed an attack in the corner, and Edge attempted a superplex. Hart countered it into an inverted suplex slam from the turnbuckles. Hart then attempted the Sharpshooter, which Edge countered into a small package. After performing a spinning heel kick, Edge saw the debuting Christian at ringside. This distraction allowed Hart to pin Edge with a roll-up. After the match, Edge followed Christian into the crowd.
The second match was between Too Much (Brian Christopher and Scott Taylor), and Al Snow and Scorpio. After going back and forth, Taylor performed a pumphandle suplex. Snow and Christopher tagged in, and Snow delivered trapping headbutts. Scorpio and Taylor tagged in. As Scorpio delivered corner clotheslines, as Snow threw a steel chair into the ring. With Scorpio distracting the referee, Snow performed a calf kick with the chair. Scorpio then performed a dropkick with the chair to Christopher into Taylor. As Scorpio performed a splash to Taylor, Snow performed a moonsault on the outside from the security wall onto Christopher. As Scorpio was on the top turnbuckle, Christopher tripped him, and performed a suplex on the outside. Taylor followed with a springboard axe handle. Back inside, Too Much performed a back body drop, and Christopher performed a bulldog to Scorpio. Scorpio then countered a back body drop from Too Much into a double dropkick. Snow tagged in, and, as Scorpio distracted the referee, attacked Too Much with his mannequin head, also accidentally hitting Scorpio. Snow then performed a low blow to Taylor with the head. Christopher performed a Tennessee Jam onto Snow, Scorpio performed a flying clothesline to Christopher, and Snow finally pinned Taylor after a Snow Plow.
The third match was between Marc Mero (accompanied by Jacqueline) and Droz. Mero had the early advantage with punches and kicks. Droz came back with a flapjack and a dropkick. Mero left the ring and looked to leave as Droz came after him and attacked Mero with the guard rail and ringsteps. Back in the ring, Mero performed a knee lift, but Droz performed a flying shoulder block and a clothesline. Mero then performed a back body drop, sending Droz outside the ring. Mero followed with a suicide senton. Back inside, Droz blocked a slingshot splash attempt with his knees, and followed with a flying spinning back elbow, an inverted atomic drop, and a powerslam. As Droz went for the pin, Jacqueline placed Mero's foot on the bottom rope, stopping the count. Mero then came back with a clothesline, and choked Droz with the athletic tape around his wrist. Mero then distracted the referee as Jacqueline hit Droz with the heel of her shoe from the top rope. Mero then pinned Droz after a Marvelocity.
The fourth match was a Falls Count Anywhere match between Vader and Bradshaw. Bradshaw gained the early advantage with attacks in the corner until Vader performed a clothesline, and a big splash. Bradshaw fought back with a big boot, and performed a clothesline, sending Vader outside the ring. Outside, Bradshaw attacked Vader with the ringpost and the ringbell, but Vader fought back using the ringsteps. Back inside the ring, Bradshaw performed attacks in the corner, and a belly to back suplex. Vader then sent Bradshaw outside the ring, where Vader attacked Bradshaw using the guard rail, and delivered a low blow. Back inside, Vader performed a splash from the second rope, and a Vader Splash. Bradshaw fought back, performing a Clothesline from Hell, and pinned Vader after a neckbreaker slam.
The fifth match was between D'Lo Brown and Gangrel. The match went back and forth until Brown performed a low blow, and a running sitout powerbomb. Brown kept the advantage until Gangrel performed a flapjack onto the ropes. Mark Henry then came down to ringside as Gangrel performed a back body drop, and a flying clothesline. As Gangrel ran at the ropes, Henry pulled down the ropes, sending Gangrel outside the ring. Brown distracted the referee as Henry sent Gangrel into the ringpost, and back into the ring. Brown then pinned Gangrel after a Sky High. After the match, Gangrel spat "blood" into Henry's face, attacked Brown, and performed an Impaler on Brown.
The sixth match was a Triple Threat match in a steel cage between Ken Shamrock, Mankind and The Rock. The match went back and forth between all three, and each was double-teamed. As Mankind and Shamrock double-teamed The Rock, The Rock fought back with a DDT to Mankind and a float-over DDT to Shamrock. The Rock then performed a scoop slam and a People's Elbow to both before climbing the cage. Mankind and Shamrock stopped, and attacked The Rock. The Rock then performed a low blow to Shamrock, and a Rock Bottom to Mankind. Shamrock fought back with a belly to belly suplex, and applied the ankle lock. Mankind stopped Shamrock and climbed to the top of the cage. The Rock followed but Mankind threw him off. Mankind then performed a diving elbow drop from the top of the cage, but The Rock avoided it. Shamrock then attempted to climb out the door, but Mankind held onto his leg. Shamrock brought a chair into the ring, and attempted to hit Mankind. Mankind avoided it, performed a double-arm DDT on Shamrock, and hit him with the chair. As Mankind climbed the cage, The Rock pinned Shamrock to win the match, and become the number-one contender to the WWF Championship.
The seventh match was between Dustin Runnels and Val Venis (accompanied by Terri Runnels). Venis performed a spinebuster, but Runnels came back with a powerbomb. Venis knocked Runnels outside and attacked Runnels. As they re-entered the ring, Runnels performed a back body drop, but Venis fought back with a Russian legsweep, and applied the camel clutch. Runnels blocked a suplex into his own suplex, but Venis came back with a chinlock. Runnels fought back with a DDT and climbed the turnbuckles, but Venis threw him to the outside. They then went back and forth until Venis performed a powerslam, several elbow drops, and pinned Runnels after a Money Shot.
The eighth match was between Jeff Jarrett and Southern Justice (Mark Canterbury and Dennis Knight), and D-Generation X (Billy Gunn, Road Dogg, and X-Pac). Gunn and Dogg attacked Jarrett and Southern Justice from behind during X-Pac's entrance. X-Pac and Jarrett started, with X-Pac countering a hurricanrana attempt into a powerbomb. Road Dogg tagged in, but was dominated by Jarrett and Southern Justice after a cheap shot from Canterbury. X-Pac eventually tagged in after Road Dogg's head hit Jarrett's head. X-Pac was also dominated after Canterbury countered a spinning heel kick into a powerbomb. Jarrett applied the sleeper hold. X-Pac escaped, performed a belly to back suplex, and tagged in Gunn. Gunn fought off Jarrett and Southern Justice, and X-Pac performed the bronco buster on Jarrett. Jarrett tried to bring a guitar into the ring, but Gunn took it from him. The referee stopped Gunn using the guitar, and Southern Justice double-teamed Gunn. Outside, Jarrett hit X-Pac in the head with the guitar, as Gunn pinned Knight after a Fameasser. X-Pac left holding onto his right eye.
Now it was time for the Main Event, which was for the WWF Championship.
In the arena, Kane's theme hits before the fire explodes and Kane comes out as the announcements begin. "The following contest is a fatal 4-Way match for the World Wrestling Federation Championship!" Howard Finkel announced. "Introducing the participants, first, weighing 328 lbs...KANE!"
Kane walks down the ramp to the ring, he desires to win back the WWF Championship and hold it for more than just a day. Kane steps over the top rope and stands in the middle of the ring before raising his arms then throws them down, causing the turnbuckles to explode with fire. The lights go back to normal as Kane waits.
OOOOOOWHOOOOOO!
Fire explodes on the stage as Jim Johnston's Dark Side plays and the lights change to dark red and dark blue as the Bladewolf walks out to a loud pop, the Intercontinental Championship around his waist.
"From Death Valley, weighing 310 lbs, he is the World Wrestling Federation Intercontinental Champion...THE BLADEWOLF!" Howard Finkel announced as Bladewolf makes his way towards the ring, looking to become a 2-time WWF Champion tonight and holding the title alongside the Intercontinental Championship.
Bladewolf enters the ring and takes off his coat, tossing it out the ring. He hands his title to someone at ringside and paces while keeping an eye on Kane before both brothers look at the stage entrance as the Undertaker's theme starts playing before the Phenom comes out and starts making his entrance.
"From Death Valley, weighing 328 lbs...THE UNDERTAKER!" Howard Finkel announced.
Undertaker had his eyes on the ring as he walked towards it...WHEN HE'S ATTACKED FROM BEHIND BY STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN! Austin has a steel chair in hand as he assaults the Undertaker! Austin dries the chair into the Phenom, stomping on him to keep him down, trying to take him out first as he knows the three brothers will work together to take him down. Bladewolf and Kane run up but Austin...NAILS THEM WITH THE CHAIR! Austin boots Kane...AND HITS THE STUNNER! Austin slugs it out with Bladewolf, taking it back towards the ring as Kane and Undertaker are laid out.
Austin and Bladewolf trade right fists back and fourth as they fight back to the ring. Austin clotheslines Bladewolf who sits right up instantly and gets to his feet, punching Austin in the stomach, then nails an uppercut. Bladewolf shoves Austin into the ring apron and goes for an attack but Austin fights back with a kick to the stomach, then grabs Bladewolf...AND RAMS HIS HEAD OFF THE STEEL RING POST!
Luckily the mask protected Bladewolf's face as Austin goes back on the attack. Undertaker and Kane were seen trying to recover from Austin's attack as Austin rolled Bladewolf into the ring, and the referee called for the bell to officially begin the match.
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
Austin grabs Bladewolf and rams him into the corner where the Rattlesnake starts stomping away on his stomach then pulls him to the ropes, Irish whips him off the ropes but Bladewolf reverses it and sends Austin into the ropes and elbows Austin in the head, flooring the Texas Rattlesnake. Bladewolf flips his hair back and adjusts his elbow pads before he scoops Austin up and hits a powerslam, then he starts going to the top rope, watching and waiting until Austin gets to his feet.
Once the Rattlesnake gets to his feet and starts turning around, Bladewolf leaps off...AND HITS A FLYING CLOTH-! AUSTIN MOVED OUT THE WAY! Austin saw it coming and sidestepped it in time. He goes on the attack again, stomping away on the Bladewolf as Undertaker and Kane are coming, the Deadman with a steel chair in hand which he tosses ahead of him.
Back in the ring, Austin was continuing his assault on Bladewolf when Bladewolf shoved Austin into the ropes and clotheslines him oer the top rope, sending Austin to the floor at the feet of Kane and the Undertaker. Kane and the Undertaker attack Austin, taking turns in punching the WWF Champion as Bladewolf leans against the ropes, taking the chance to recover for a bit and let his brothers have a shot at beating Austin up.
Undertaker nails Austin with a hard right, sending the Rattlesnake stumbling over to the barricade with Undertaker walking over and hits a sharp right to the back of the head,causing Austin to clutch his head. Kane walks over and delivers a hard right shot to the ribs of the Rattlesnake. Kane hits an uppercut that sends Austin stumbling to Undertaker who hits a heavy heabutt, that makes Austin stumble back to Kane who floors him with a clothesline. Undertaker picks Austin up and goes to Irish whip him into the steps...BUT AUSTIN REVERSES IT AND SENDS UNDERTAKER INTO THE STEEL STEPS!
Austin slugs it out with Kane and rams the BigRed Monster into the barricade when Bladewolf grabs him from behind but Austin backs up and rams Bladewolf into the steel ring post, causing Bladewolf to yell out in pain, though it was muffled due to his mask, and released Austin. Austin turned and hammers away on the Intercontinental Champion with a fury of lefts and rights before he just started unloading with a fury of rights to the masked face of the Demon Wolf, bringing the former WWF Champion to his knees as Austin keeps up the assault.
Austin...RAMS BLADEWOLF'S HEAD OFF THE STEEL RING POST! Bladewolf falls onto his back but Austin picks him up and sends him back into the ring, grabs his leg and pulls him to the steel ring post before he pulls the leg back...AND RAMS IT INTO THE RING POST! Bladewolf grunts in pain and holds his leg when Austin hits a hard right and starts ramming Bladewolf's right leg into the ring post, knowing he takes out the power of the Bladewolf if he doesn't have his legs.
Kane attacks Austin from behind but Austin grabs Kane...AND RAMS HIS HEAD INTO THE STEEL RING POST! Austin unloads on Kane before he Irish whips him into the barricade.
Austin turns his attention back to Bladewolf, who is laying on his back on the ring apron so Austin runs up and hits an elbow to the chest of the Intercontinental Champion. Bladewolf rolls into the ring and Austin follows. Bladewolf gets to his feet and turns around into a kick to the gut...AND AUSTIN HITS THE STINNER! STONE COLD STUNNER! Kane slides into the ring and runs at Austin who ducks it, boots Kane in the stomach...AND HITS THE STUNNER ON HIM AS WELL!
Austin covers Kane! ONE! TWO! THRE-! UNDERTAKER PULLS AUSTIN OUT THE RING!
Undertaker picks Austin up and sends him into the steel ring post, then picks him up and tosses him back into the ring. Undertaker slides in after Austin, getting to his feet. Picking Austin up, Undertaker rams Austin's head into the top turnbuckle, then starts throwing lefts and rights to the stomach of the Rattlesnae, glaring at the referee as he tried warning him. Undertaker turns back to Austin, driving his boot into Austin's stomach, then lands a hard right to the Rattlesnake's head.
Undertaker grabs Austin by the throat and starts choking him in the corner, rolling his eyes to the back of his head as he did so before he released Austin. Undertaker Irish whips Austin into the opposite corner and runs at him but is met with an elbow by the Rattlesnake who starts fighting back with a hammer of right hands to the forehead of the Demon of Death Valley. Austin Irish whips Undertaker, goes for a right but Undertaker ducks it, and Austin turns around...INTO A FLYING CLOTHESLINE FROM THE UNDERTAKER!
Undertaker covers Austin but Austin kicks out at two as Kane and Bladewolf get to their feet. Undertaker picks Austin up,driving his knee into the Rattlesnake's stomach before he Irish whips him off the ropes, goes for a right which Austin ducks and Undertaker turns around...INTO THE LOU THEZ PREZ! Austin rebounds off the ropes and hits the elbow on Undertaker's head. Austin gets to his feet and clotheslines Kane over the top rope before he turns into a boot from Bladewolf, who unloads with an assault of lefts and rights, before he uppercuts Austin who stumbles around into a hard right from the Undertaker.
Bladewolf and Undertaker start stomping away on Austin before Bladewolf hits a leg drop across Austin's throat, then Undertaker hits a leg drop across Austin's throat. Undertaker picks Austin up and Irish whips him off the ropes, going to catapult him but Austin hits a swinging Neckbreaker on the Deadman. He goes for the cover but Bladewolf breaks it up.
Austin tackles Bladewolf down and the two start brawling it out, throwing fists at each other like two guys who despise each other and just can't stand the presence of the other man. Bladewolf rolls Austin over and starts hammering away when Austin reverses their positions and hammers away on Bladewolf. Austin gets to his feet, spots Kane getting on the ring apron and runs, knocking the Big Red Machine off the apron.
Austin turns his attention back to Bladewolf and Undertaker who had gotten to their feet. Austin goes to clothesline them but they duck it, grab Austin and send him into the ropes where Kane grabs him from outside the ring and pulls him out. Kane slugs it out with Austin as Bladewolf and Undertaker get out the ring and go to attack Austin from behind, but Austin ducked it and the two brothers ended up flooring Kane with their attack.
Lane got to his feet and stared at his brothers, Undertaker playing peace keeper...WHEN AUSTIN SHOVES UNDERTAKER INTO KANE! Austin then tackles Bladewolf into the ring apron and slugs it out with him before grabbing him...AND RAMS HIM HEADFIRST OFF THE STEEL RING POST! Bladewolf falls to his knees and Austin grabs him, dragging him over to the announce tables and goes to bounce his head off them but Bladewolf blocks it, elbows Austin in the stomach before ramming Austin's head off the announce table, sending the Rattlesnake down.
Undertaker and Kane walk over and start beating down Austin. They lift Austin up...AND DROP HIM ONTO THE ANNOUNCE TABLE!
The three brothers take turns in hurting Austin, driving him into the barricade, then stomping on him. Undertaker tosses Austin into the ring and the three brothers get in. Austin stands in the corner as Undertaker and Kane walk over when Austin starts fighting back, kicking the Undertaker and Kane in their stomachs to back them off. Bladewolf stands back and watches, waiting. Undertaker and Kane punch Austin down and keep up their attack.
The crowd was booing as Austin was overwhelmed to this basically 3-on-1 Handicap match. Bladewolf looks around before he leaves the ring and looks underneath it and pulls out a steel chair. He slides into the ring as Undertaker nods and tells him to strike Austin. Bladewolf nods and rears back on the chair...AND NAILS UNDERTAKER IN THE HEAD WITH IT!
The crowd pops in shock as Bladewolf turns...AND NAILS KANE IN THE HEAD WITH THE CHAIR! Bladewolf glares down at his brothers, shaking his head. Brothers they may be...but that didn't matter to him when it comes to winning the WWF Championship.
Bladewolf turns to Austin who was recovering from Undertaker and Kane's assault. Bladewolf walks over, grabs Austin and shoves him into the corner. Austinstares at Bladewolf who stares at him before he looks to Undertaker and Kane and gestures to them. Austin looks and nods at whatever Bladewolf is saying before they both start attacking Undertaker and Kane, teaming up now it seems.
Bladewolf attacks Undertaker while Austin attacks Kane. Bladewolf gets Undertaker in the corner and hammers away on him in the stomach and head with a fury of lefts and rights before finishing the combo with an uppercut then a heavy headbutt. Bladewolf picks up the steel chair, whirls around...AND NAILS UDNERTAKER IN THE FOREHEAD WITH IT!
Bladewolf tosses the chair to Austin, who catches it and whirls around...AND NAILS KANE IN THE HEAD WITH THE ChAIR! Austin tosses the chair aside before he turns around...INTO A GOOZLE FROM BLADEWOLF! Bladewolf lifts him up...AND PLANTS AUSTIN WITH A CHOKESLAM! HE HOOKS THE LEGS! ONE! TWO! THRE-! UNDERTAKER BREAKS IT UP!
Bladewolf gets to his feet and gets in Undertaker's face, the two brothers glaring each other down as Undertaker says something to Bladewolf who just looks starts stomping on Austin as Kane joins in. Bladewolf just leans against the turnbuckles, watching, uncaring. He watches as they take the fight with Austin up to the stage set up, watching as Austin tries fighting back.
Bladewolf watches as they bring the fight back to the ring and he shakes his head before picking up the steel chair, rolls out the ring...AND STARTS ATTACKING AUSTIN WITH THE CHAIR! Austin, who had been laid on the steel steps, fell off them and rolled about as Bladewolf keeps up the assault with the steel chair time and time again until it was dented and he tossed it aside and starts stomping away on the Rattlesnake.
He turns around...INTO A GOOZLE! Kane and Undertaker lift Bladewolf up...AND PLANT HIM WITH A DOUBLE CHOKESLAM ON THE FLOOR! Thatw as payback for the chair shots he gave them.
Undertaker and Kane take Austin into the ring and keep up their assault as Bladewolf is laid out outside the ring. While he is, Undertaker and Kane try pinning Austin but are pulled off by the other brother. Outside the ring...BLADEWOLF SITS UP! Bladewolf looks to see Kane and Undertaker having a staredown before Kane goes to attack Austin when Undertaker attacks him from behind.
Bladeewolf rolls into the ring and Undertaker turns around...INTO A SPEAR! Bladewolf gets to his feet and turns around to see Kane stumbling. Bladewolf lifts Kane onto his shoulders...AND HITS THE WOLF'S HOWL!
Bladeowlf turns to Undertaker who is stumbling to his feet and the Deadman turns into an uppercut that knocks him into Austin who hits a hard right. Undertaker end sup getting hit back and fourth by Bladewolf and Austin before Austin clotheslines Undertaker over the top rope and down to the floor outside the ring.
Austin then turns around...INTO A GOOZLE! But Austin breaks the hold, boots Bladewolf in the stomach...AND HITS THE STONE COLD STUNNER! HE HOOKS THE LEGS! ONE! TWO! THRE-! KANE BREAKS IT UP!
Austin gets to his feet as Kane attacks him, but Austin hits a side Russian leg Sweep, going for the cover but Kane kicks out at two. Austin gets Kane in the corner when kane knocks him down with a hard right. Bladewolf gets to his feet and walks over with Undertaker, both pulling Austin to his feet and Undertaker knocks Austin down with a hard right as Bladewolf backs off, pacing around a little.
After knocking Austin to the outside, Undertaker speaks to his younger brothers and they seem to be cooperating once more. Bladeowlf and Kane exit the ring and grab Austin before they ram him into the steel steps. The two brothers take turns stomping on Austin before Bladewolf drives his boot onto Austin's forehead and puts all his weight on it, causing Austin to yell out in pain and his legs to kick around before Bladewolf pulls back and backs off, allowing Kane to get some kicks in.
Kane throws Austin back into the ring, slides in and goes for the cover but Undertaker shoves his brother off Austin and goes for the cover only for Bladewolf to break it up. The three brothers get to their feet and stare each other down. All three desired to be the next WWF Champion and weren't going to allow anything to stand in their way of that goal...even their brothers.
Undertaker strikes Kane first with an uppercut, then elbows Bladewolf in the face. Undertaker gets Kane into the corner and keeps up the assault when Kane lands a hard right to the jaw of the Undertaker. Bladewolf runs up and clobbers Undertaker from behind. Bladewolf and Kane look at each other before they look down at Undertaker and start stomping away on him, working together to take out their older brother it seems.
Bladewolf gets Undertaker into the corner, grabs Kane and Irish whips him into Undertaker. Kane shoves Undertaker forward...AND BLAIDEWOLF SPEARS THE UNDERTAKER! Bladewolf and Kane stand over their older brother before both grab him by the throat, pull him to his feet then lift him up...AND PLANT HIM WITH A DOUBLE CHOKESLAM!
Bladewolf walks forward when he is turned around and lifted onto Kane's right shoulder, Kane looking for the Tombstone. Bladewolf fights back and slides out of it, shoves Kane forward. the two younger brothers charge at each other and hit a clothesline on the other taking them both down as Austin recovers and sees the three brothers are down for now.
Austin gets to his feet, yelling for them to sit up...AND THEY DO SO! Austin starts fighting the three of them off with rights. Austin Irish whips Kane into the Undertaker, sending the Deadman through the ropes and falling to the outside, Austin then Irish whips Kane into Bladewolf who falls to the outside as well. Austin hammers away on Kane before he rebounds off the ropes, only to be scooped up by Kane and hit with a powerslam.
Kane rebounds off the ropes and hits a running elbow drop but Austin moves out the way. Austin assaults Kane as the Undertaker gets on the ring apron. Austin rebounds off the ropes but Kane scoops him up and holds him on his right shoulder as Undertaker goes to the top rope but Austin slidesoff kane and shoves him into the Undertaker, causing Undertaker to fall and for the turnbuckle to hit him in between the legs.
Austin nails Kane with a right, then whirls around and starts attacking Bladewolf who had gotten back into the ring. Austin goes for the Stunner ut Bladewolf shoves him into a double boot by Kane and the Undertaker. The three brothers Irish whip Austin into the ropes, and all thre egrab him by the throat, lift him up and somehow...HIT A TRIPLE CHOKESLAM ON AUSTIN!
All three brothers, exhausted, fall on Austin and the referee counts! ONE! TWO! THREE! AUSTIN HAS LOST!...But who won the match?
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
No music played, because it was unclear who won since all three brothers covered Austin. Vince McMahon came down and snatched the Smoking Skull belt, claiming it was his and nobody gets it!
Bladewolf, Kane, and Undertaker were just as confused as everyone as Breakdown goes off the air...
