Crabtree and Higgins were still stuck. They didn't want to go towards the voices as they might get caught but they also wanted to stay around to see if they could hear anything important to the case. They could also hear rain coming down on the roof. Neither of them wanted to go back to Sam soaking!
"George. What are we going to do?" Higgins whispered so the voices couldn't hear.
"Just hold on Henry, they'll move off soon." Crabtree hoped he was right in saying that.
Higgins leant back against the wall. The warehouse wasn't exactly the warmest place in the world! He was trying his best not to fall asleep thanks to the cold and the fact that none of them had really rested since the case had started.
The voices then stopped. Then there were footsteps receding in a different direction. They both breathed out and then stepped out making sure they didn't bump into anyone along the way.
"That was a stroke of luck." Higgins tugged at his collar.
"That voice though Henry. What are we going to tell Sam?" Crabtree sighed making the way out of the warehouse hopefully for the last time that day!
"That was the person we heard. She's not going to feel any injustice if we do tell her." Higgins picked up the pace a little.
"But everyone thinks they're gone. I mean it's not like Clegg popping up about a million times. This is completely different." Crabtree continued much to Higgins' annoyance.
"George, we'll talk about it later. Let's just find a way out of this place." Henry said feeling like he wanted to slap George in the face.
Crabtree wanted to say more but could see the anger in Higgins' face. He threw up his hands and carried on.

Sam and Pendrick got out of the carriage. They had been to about three different warehouses before they had gotten to this one. It was the last one or they were going back to the station without any more information then they had left with. Pendrick was tiring quite quickly. He wasn't used to walking around this much and not getting anything from it.
"This had better be it." Pendrick moaned.
"You can go back if you want to." Sam moaned back.
"And let you get all the credit?!" Pendrick smiled.
Pendrick then led the way to the warehouse. Before the two snoopers could get much further however, Crabtree and Higgins came stumbling out of one of the side entries.
"Crabtree." Sam cried running to the both of them.
All three of them hugged. It had only been two hours but it had felt like an eternity to Sam. Higgins and Crabtree were a little confused as to why she did this but let her anyway as they didn't want to argue.
"Thank goodness we found you." Pendrick said when the three broke apart.
"You were looking for us?" Crabtree asked.
"Yes we saw something in the picture. A warehouse that looks like this one. We think it might be where the gang are hiding." Sam answered.
"Well someone's hiding in it. We heard a lot of voices." Higgins sighed, yawning loudly.
"Get any look at the faces?" Sam smiled trying to get an answer.
"I'm afraid not but we did recognise one of the voices." Higgins admitted before Crabtree could stop him.
Sam could see that Crabtree wasn't too happy with Higgins saying that but she was also interested in seeing what Higgins was going to say. Pendrick on the other hand just wanted to get back to the station and sit with his feet up.
"Can't we discuss this back at the station?" Pendrick nearly shouted out loud.
"Fine. It's too creepy around here anyway." Sam gave in feeling a chill in the air wash over her.
She suddenly thought there was someone behind her. She turned around to check. No one was there however, so she just thought it must be the wind. She followed the others into the carriage back to the station.

Murdoch was resting for what felt like the first time since had got to the hospital. Julia was keeping watch outside making sure no one came in without her express permission. No one would dare challenge her when her husband was involved. However, someone was going to try.
"Hello Doctor Ogden." Watts said as he approached through the corridor.
Julia stood as soon as he came near her. She put her hand out to stop Watts going any further. Watts stopped, stared at her hand and then went to continue the conversation.
"I'm here to see the detective." Watts said with caution.
"You're not getting anywhere near my husband. Detective or not." Julia said through gritted teeth.
"But I have something to discuss with him."
"I don't care. He needs rest so no one is going to see him until later."
"The case is important."
"Still don't care."
"Can I just leave him a note or something?"
"Watts, you can come back and see him later. Now go on back to the station before I get security."
Watts could see Julia wasn't going to back down. However, neither was he. He stood there firm with his arms crossed, certain he was going to talk to Murdoch before the day had ended. Julia stood across from him and did the same.
"I thought you were in another state anyway." Julia mentioned.
"I was. Now I'm back." Watts just answered.
"Case solved that quickly?!"
"Yeah. Now will you please let me in. I'll only be a few minutes and then I'll be out again."
"Then you can come back later." Julia shrugged.
"Julia…" A weak voice came from inside.
Julia's attention was turned back inside for a moment, which gave Watts the advantage and stormed into the room. Murdoch was barely awake and looked more tired by the second.
"Watts. What are you doing here?" Murdoch winced as he got up.
"I need to talk to you but someone put a stop to that." Watts said pointing her head towards Julia who stood at the doorway pouting.
"Julia I'm fine." Murdoch tried to calm his wife.
"Don't blame me then when you're tired later." Julia said leaving.
"Don't listen to her. Now what did you want to see me about?" Murdoch shuffled in his seat.
"It's the case. I think I've made a breakthrough." Watts sat down in the seat, licking his lips as he usually did.
"Go on."

The carriage carried along the road back to the station. It was a little bit crammed with having to fit all four of them in the same one. Pendrick was staring out of the window. He wasn't used to going this slow when out and about so wasn't exactly enjoying this. Sam on the other hand was used to it. It was better than walking everywhere anyway.
"So you're saying that the gang was definitely there?" Sam asked Crabtree for what seemed the hundredth time.
"Yes. Unless there's another gang that hangs around in warehouses." Crabtree said sarcastically.
"Not that I know of." Sam kicked him in the shin when he said this.
Crabtree just smiled at her trying to keep on her good side. Higgins sniggered under his breath. Sam still heard it however and kicked him in the shins also. Higgins brushed it off and then carried on listening to Crabtree and Sam's conversation.
"So you're going to wait to tell me who it was then? You're so annoying!" Sam rolled her eyes as Crabtree shook his head with a smile beaming across his face.
"You'll just have to wait Samantha." Crabtree said.
Sam crossed her arms.
"How are you finding life in the slow lane Pendrick?" Crabtree quickly changed the subject before Sam could injure him anymore.
"It's boring!" Pendrick groaned.
"Well you'll have to get used to it if you're going to work with us." Crabtree continued.
"I'll give you cars then." Pendrick shrugged.
"You won't be able to afford it!" Higgins mentioned.
Pendrick thought this over for a moment before discussing it. He thought better of it however, and just carried on looking out of the window, watching the world slowly go by. He quickly noticed something out of the window though.
"Someone's following us." Pendrick said looking out the back window.
"You sure?" Sam said a little panicked.
"I don't know but I think they've been following us since we left the warehouse." Pendrick nodded.
The group then looked out of the back window with Pendrick. It was true there was someone who was following them.

"Watts, can I tell you something?" Murdoch asked after Watts had informed him about the case.
"Yeah sure." Watts frowned.
"A brick came through my window a few days ago. It was threatening the station. Sam, George…" Murdoch stuttered.
"It's probably nothing. Just some joke." Watts waved it away.
"I'm not sure this time."
"You're getting paranoid."
"Maybe I am. You have a look, it's over there." Murdoch pointed over to the brick still on his window sill.
Watts nodded and walked over to see what Murdoch meant. The brick was laid there. The note just beside it, crumpled. Obviously Murdoch had tried to throw it in the bin earlier.
"Maybe I should investigate this further." Watts said, taking a more closer look at the brick which had come through the window.
"Please Watts. Don't let the others see but please." Murdoch almost begged.
"I will."

The carriage was still following the station's coach. Sam was getting more and more worried. No one had ever followed her before and it was quite frightening to see it in action.
"Maybe we should change direction." Pendrick suggested getting ready to tell the driver.
Before he could however, another carriage came along aside. Before they knew it another one had suddenly come out of nowhere in front of them. The group looked at each other as the horses neighed trying to get out of the way.
"Hold on!" The driver shouted.
The carriage swerved trying to get away. It didn't get out of the way in time however, and was sent flying into the ditch by the side of the road.
