The first thing Spencer felt when he came back into consciousness was the cold. He was shivering and he could feel cold concrete on his naked skin. He peeled his eyes open to see a dark, damp basement. It wasn't like the one he was kept in for those 3 years. This one felt more like an actual basement, not meant to be a prison. There was tons of junk piled around the sides of the room, almost as if it was pushed out of the way to make room in the middle.
As Spencer took in his surroundings, the door to the basement slammed open and Hobbs stormed in. The boy shrunk away from him as he stomped over. The man grabbed him by the hair and pulled him up off the ground. "You have been a very, very bad boy. I think a punishment is in order..."
Tears leaked out of Spencer's eyes as he started pleading. "No! Please d-don't! I'm s-sorry!" He was becoming hysterical the more he spoke. "I'm sorry! Please! I want my d-daddy!"
The man scoffed in his face. "Your daddy? Are you talking about that agent? He's not your daddy and he doesn't actually care about you."
With a surprising amount of strength, Spencer talked back against him. "No! He's my daddy! He l-loves me and I love him!"
"No one loves you," Hobbs practically hissed.
Hobbs suddenly threw him down on the floor, causing the boy's head to bounce off of the hard concrete. His head was swimming, but he watched as the man walked over to a box. He opened it up and pulled out a whip and a knife.
Spencer's eyes widened, almost popping out of his head. He didn't want to be punished! He had to get away. He quietly got to his feet, despite the pain in his head and backside, and tiptoed away from the man while he was distracted.
Could he run? No, The Man is blocking the door. Could he hide? That looked to be his best option.
He looked around, trying to find a good hiding spot. He eventually decided that hiding behind one of the giant junk piles would be his best bet. He tried to maneuver himself behind one of the piles, but he just jostled it, causing multiple items to fall to the ground with a bang.
Hobbs spun around when he heard the noise, and saw the boy trying to hide himself. He quickly made his way to the shaking child and grabbed him again. "Do you really want to make me more angry? I think you just earned yourself 10 more lashes with the whip…"
Spencer whimpered at the thought of his punishment. He hated the whip the most.
Hobbs grabbed a pair of handcuffs and cuffed Spencer's hands. He lifted the boy up and hooked the cuffs to a hook in the ceiling. "I installed this just for you boy..."
He released his hold on the child. Spencer was dangling in the air, the cuffs digging into his wrists. His arms hurt in this position, and he let out a whimper.
Hobbs grabbed the whip and walked over to the dangling child. He circled the boy, like an animal circling their prey. "So boy, I'm going to give you lashes for all of the rules you broke. 30 lashes for leaving me, 20 for getting my friend killed, 10 for getting your dad arrested, 5 for wearing clothes, 5 for eating and drinking, and 5 for sleeping in a bed. Oh and 10 for that little stunt." He smirked. "You're smart, how many lashes is that?"
"...85" Spencer shivered just from the thought of getting that many lashes.
Hobbs gave him an evil grin. "That's right. 85. And you're going to count every last one."
Without warning, the whip hit the boy's back, making him scream out in pain. It was even worse than he remembered. "ONE!"
The team was working out of Morgan's living room, trying to find anything they could to get Spencer back. They looked into Hobbs' friends, his properties, and more, but were coming up empty.
"Guys?" Garcia said, breaking the silence that had settled over them. "Hobbs used Tucker Smith's badge to get into the BAU. He changed his appearance to match Smith. I checked the cameras, and Hobbs has been appearing as the janitor for days, so I got thinking. Where's Tucker Smith?"
"Has he been reported missing?" Asked Morgan.
Garcia started typing away on her computer. "Uhh... no. But he also doesn't have any family nearby and doesn't use social media."
"Garcia, are there any John Does at the morgue?" Hotch spoke up.
"Yes! There are two John Does, one that fits Smith's description." She pulled up a photo of the body. "Yes, yes this is definitely Smith. Hobbs killed him..."
They all sat for a moment, thinking over what they just heard. Prentiss was the first to speak. "Okay. So he killed the BAU janitor for his badge so he could get close to Spencer. That doesn't help us find him though."
"Actually, I think it does." Rossi said. "It's possible that Hobbs could be using Smith's house. He doesn't have time to go back to Georgia."
Upon hearing this, Morgan shot up and grabbed his FBI vest. "Garcia you got an address?"
"Already on your phone."
"Let's go get Spencer back."
