A/N: I've been busy. First: I live in Texas, so that snowstorm two months scared me. I've seen snow from going northern, but never southern (where I live). Then not having the tab water not being clean, that can have life-threatening bugs, scared me even more. I'm used to having safe tab water to drink.
Second: I have been helping renovate my house. It took all my free time the past months. Moving and boxing things and tearing down walls. It is exhausting. As I am writing this now, it is 1am in the morning.
Third: Of what little free time I get, I write my book. I'll only get one page in though. You can read the first chapter on Wattpad. It's name is A Fairy War. Yes, it has fairies and magic.
Anyway, here is a new chapter. I'm sorry for the long wait. I hope you enjoy it. :3
Disclaimer: i do not own anything related to Percy Jackson
Making friends to one of the workers isn't such a bad idea since we didn't have any others. It is our only plan. Nico doesn't like it and the others aren't sure. They let me try though while Frank continues to look for a way out. I only have a small problem.
I am bedridden.
The drugs are hitting me a little too strong. The dizzy spells are not helpful. Sometimes my legs would go numb. My eyes would blur up out of nowhere. I would laugh for no reason then cry.
"Nico, I'm thirsty," I say. I reach out for nothing.
"Sit up Perce," he tells me. My sight blurs as I slowly sit up. My arms feel like noodles. My head slump down. "Here." Nico grab my hands, place a bottle in them, and help me hold it. His hands cradle mines as I drink it all down. The medicine is also making me feel dehydrated. As if it is taking all the water out of me. Making sure I'm not strong enough to hold myself up.
"How is he Grover?" Someone walks in. I can only see yellow and white. Jason?
"Not good. He keeps calling me Nico. And asking for a lot of water." He pull the bottle away. "He hardly have any strength to hold a water bottle." I slightly tug the bottle back to me. "There's no more Percy. He also haven't pee today. I'm getting a bit worry here Will. It's been days."
Jason place his hand on my forehead. "He's fine. The meds are now cutting off his powers. Which is water."
"And that means?"
"Before, when he was sleeping, his body would take as much water from the air. He breathe water more than air. So now Percy's body is turning to a regular human being. It's making him dehydrated and sort-of hallucinating."
I laugh, "You're hands are warm Jason. Like the sun!" I flop back on the bed. "Nico, are you happy to go to the carnival? Tyson is happy." Nico pat my head.
~me~
I watch as Grover pat Percy's head. Will spots me at the doorway. He walk up to me. "You should be asleep. What's wrong?" He place a hand on my forehead.
"I'm fine. Is Percy going to be okay?"
Will press his lips together before nodding. "He'll be fine. Only need to be keep hydrated."
"What happen if he isn't?"
"He'll die." I groan in my hands. "Hey. Neeks, he'll be fine. Water and staying in bed. When he pees, that'll tell you Percy is getting better." A hand run through my hair. "Grover is with him, so rest for now. I have to go check on Leo. I'll be back."
Will left. I stand here, wondering if he ever will be okay. Percy is strong minded, but there is a limit of how much he can take. He doesn't remember what happened to me four years ago. Percy doesn't want to. I'm scare of what will happen.
I lean on the wall. Grover voice muffle behind me. Frank walks back in the holding cell, followed by a worker. Small girl with almond eyes. Something flash through my head. I speed walk to her. I sort-of scared her.
"Excuse me," I say. "I need a favour from you." She look me up and down. Whatever she sees, she didn't like it. She take a couple of steps back.
"What is it?"
"My friend isn't feeling," I start. "The one you have been giving drugs to. He isn't reacting good. He needs water to heal himself but it isn't working. He have been drinking bottle after bottle and nothing."
"Okay? The drugs is design to keep him from using his powers, which is water."
"Yes. I know. But without water, Percy will die."
She sigh. "I can tell the medical team but there isn't anything else I can do."
"Yes there is." I grab her hand. Her face goes in shockmode. This is probably the first time I grab a girl's hand that wasn't my sister. I pull her towards Percy. "Like I said, bottle after bottle. He went through a dozen through the night."
"Wait. Nico," I hear Frank call after me.
I point at the water bottles in the far back corner. "See?"
"Nico? What are you doing?" Grover look between us.
I let go of the girl. "I can see," she says. "What do you want me to do about it?"
I scoop up some bottles and give them to her, "Fill them up with sea water."
"What?" Girl, Grover, and Frank question.
"Spring water isn't helping, nor does tap water. Percy can breathe through any water. Yet he is the fastest swimmer when in the sea than any swimming pool. Haven't you notice that Grover?" Grover blink. His eyes look to the ground in deep thought. He have been friends with Percy longer than me and he just notice the difference of the swimming?
Percy laugh in his sleep.
"Please fill some with sea water, it's our last hope. I would do it if I can."
She look at the bottles in her arms. "Okay. But I have to tell the medical team. They definitely want to log this in."
I nod. "Of course. Thank you so much. Um..."
"Calypso. The name is Calypso Nightshade."
"And I'm Nico di Angelo. Thank you."
She nod. "I'll be back later." Calypso left.
"You think sea water will work?" Frank ask.
I shrug. "I don't know. It's the only thing we haven't tried yet."
"I hope it does," Grover sigh. "It is our last hope."
Jason walks in. One of his sleeves smoking. "What's with the faces?"
