Din had never been more nervous in his life as Syn stared back at him, eyes wide and mouth struggling to form a sentence.

It had been playing on his mind the moment Paz had flirted with her. The flare of jealously hit him harder than expected The fleeting thought had eaten into his thoughts for the rest of his day while he'd been kept busy. Any spare moment that didn't need his thoughts, his mind strayed right back to it. Then Paz had made another off-handed comment about Syn being still unmarried and Din needed to step aside because others were waiting.

It had been a joke. One in bad taste. But Din's normal composure had broken. The jealously had flared yet again and this time Din hadn't been able to squash it down. Seeing Syn lounging in the chair and the smile she had given him made something snap in him. The jealously of before and combined with the irresistible pull had resulted in some of the best sex they ever had. Afterwards, nothing had ever felt so right.

There were no guarantees in his life. Anything could happen to him while searching for the Jedi. While he was happy she'd agreed to the job on Nevarro, the thought of her being protected by the tribe was an even greater relief. He didn't doubt they'd grant protection if she asked if anything happened to him. If they were married, she wouldn't even need to ask.

"I love you," Din said gently, brushing his fingers along her cheek. "I want to spend the rest of my life with you, regardless of how long or short that may be."

Din swallowed heavily. He wasn't a man of words. Actions were his language and right now he was struggling to say the right thing. He knew they had spoken of this. Din had wanted to make sure he wasn't missing anything if Syn had any traditions she wanted to follow. But he didn't want to have another moment without her.

"Part of me is being selfish again. If we're married then I know the tribe will protect you but it's more than that. You are the only thing I have ever wanted in my entire life. The fact you wanted me back still makes me think this is a dream sometimes."

Syn buried her head into his chest. Din thought he heard a very muffled sniffle but he kept pressing on, not letting his nerves get the better of him. He wanted to do this right.

"You are the only thing in this galaxy that makes me happy. The one thing that makes me feel whole," Din continued, brushing her hair out of the way. "Will you do me the honour of being my wife?"

This time it was a definite sniffle he heard. Syn buried her head further into his chest.

Din was sure she'd be able to hear his heart hammering in his chest from how nervous he was. It felt like an eternity and Syn was still quiet.

"Syn?" Din's mouth felt dry.

His fingers found her chin and he tipped her face back so he could see her. There were tear tracks down her face. Din's heart stopped in his chest, his mind already scrambling for an apology.

"Yes."

Syn's tearful expression moulded into a smile.

Din forgot to breathe for a moment.

"Yes?" Din repeated when he had the breath in his body. His own smile started to play on his lips.

"Yes," Syn confirmed with a laugh. She wrapped her arms around his neck, hugging him hard.

It was perfect. Din had never felt so happy in his entire life. That one simple word was all it took to make him feel like the luckiest man alive.

Din laughed as he rolled over on top of her. He couldn't stop himself from kissing her.

"Isn't the consummation meant to come after?" Syn joked between their kisses, laughing with him.

"Give me 15 minutes and we could probably manage that," Din said, chucking as he kissed her again.

No matter how many times he kissed her, it always felt like home. His lips against hers, no matter whether it was a chaste brush or the passionate clash that made his head spin.

"I believe," Syn said around the kiss. "You have some vows to say to me, Din Djarin."

There wasn't a second of hesitation for Din. He'd never wanted anything more in his life than this right now. He pulled back, resting his weight on his arms. He looked down at the woman he loved with all of his heart and soul.

"Mhi solus tome," Din started quietly.

Syn's eyes were bright with unshed tears though she was still smiling. He brushed his thumb over her cheekbone gently.

"Mhi solus dar'tome," Din's smile matched hers. He wasn't an emotional man but right now he felt a little misty eyed himself.

"Mhi me'dinui an."

A tear slipped down Syn's cheek. Din gently dashed it away with his thumb.

"Mhi ba'juri verde," Din felt his own voice hitch on the last part.

"We are one we together," Syn repeated back in Basic. Her voice was thick was emotion. "We are one when parted."

Syn had to stop to swallow heavily. A few more tears tracked down her face which she reached up to wipe away.

"We will share all," Syn's voice dropped to nearly a whisper. "We will rase warriors."

"We will raise warriors," Din found himself repeating as he bent down to kiss her again.

It was a kiss of new beginnings. A new life with them together. As husband and wife.

Syn kissed him back eagerly, tangling her hands through his messy hair. Din wanted to get carried away again but he still had something else for her. The Armourer had pressed it into his hands earlier in the day without saying anything. It had been another huge factor in Din not wanting to wait. He'd expected it to take a lot longer than it had.

"Before we get carried away," Din said, pulling back reluctantly. "I have something for you."

As he untangled himself from Syn, he bent down to his discarded armour. Grumbling to himself, at the mess he'd thrown the pile of beskar in, Din reached down to and took picked his pants up. The weight that he'd secured in the pocket made a tinkling sound as he shifted the heavy fabric in his hands to uncover the gift. He held the cold metal in his hand, kneeling back down beside the bed.

Another flash of nerves hit him as he uncurled his fist to show Syn.

Mandalorian customs were a simple ceremony for marriage. They would make their vows. A symbol of their clan on a weapon or armour usually followed. Syn already kept her dagger on her at all times. Din wanted to give her something that was more in line with a lot of other customs. Armour was exceptionally impractical for her. The Armourer had been more than happy to put his request together for him on such short notice. She had even refused payment for it.

It was a simple ring. A flat band of beskar that had the smallest mudhorn inlaid over it. You had to look extremely close to make out the details.

Din had a matching one in the same design, those his was slightly wider than hers. He hadn't asked for that one. But the Armourer had still dropped it into his hand. Din found himself more than happy to wear it. No one would see it under his gloves. Something that only he and Syn had for each other.

"Oh." Syn's eyes went wide. "Din…"

It wasn't often Syn was lost for words. Din chuckled softly as she reached out to touch the cold band.

"Can I put it on you?" Din asked.

Syn nodded eagerly. Din picked up the smaller band and slid it on her left ring finger. Without any prompting, Syn did the same for him. The cool weight on his finger felt foreign but nothing had ever felt more right in his life.

"I love you," Syn said softly.

Din barely had time to brace himself before Syn pounced on him. They fell back on the bed, both of them laughing around their kisses.

Life was perfect.

Din woke up the next morning with Syn tangled around his body. Their naked forms pressed together so closely he couldn't tell where either of them started or ended. Syn's wild curly hair reached up and tickled his nose, making him huff in amusement as he brushed it away. Syn was fast asleep, her head resting on his chest with her arm and leg slung over his body. As he glanced down, the glint of the ring on her finger caught his eye.

It felt like he was in a dream. He tilted his head down and pressed a gentle kiss on Syn's forehead. She stirred briefly in her sleep but didn't rouse.

Din never thought this would be in his life. It was always a distant yearning to have a constant in his life. Something he knew his life wouldn't ever allow for so he kept it buried as far away as he could. Stumbling into Syn's life had been the only time he had ever been glad to have been stabbed.

He could never explain to himself why he kept going back to her. At the start, he'd told himself it was duty and payment that kept him straying back. Owing your life to someone was a heavy debt and one Din could never work out how to repay Syn for. Not even when he had saved her life had he thought them even close to even. So he kept telling himself the books, trinkets and supplies he kept picking up were to repay that. That the thoughts of her that occupied his spare time in the long hours in space were nothing more than a passing attraction. One that would fizzle out eventually like any relationship he had in his earlier life.

Even when they had started sleeping together and he started to think of Osoria as home, Din didn't expect any of it to last. There'd been a fools hope that they may have been able to be happy. That crazy hope kept him going back time after time.

And now all of that hope had her as his wife.

Din couldn't stop himself pressing another kiss against her forehead. He felt the happiest he had ever been in his life. It was like he'd gone through the years while missing a part of him and now he was whole.

Syn stirred underneath him, pressing her body against him closer. Din knew she was slowly waking up. They'd stayed up late. After having sex again, they'd gone and finished their cold dinner. Only to fall back into bed and once more Din found he couldn't keep his hands off her. Syn had joked afterwards about the marriage being properly consummated. Din had been extremely grateful he'd taken up the offer from the other Mandalorian's to watch the Child for the night. It meant they didn't have to be quiet or be disturbed this morning.

"Morning," Din said quietly as Syn's eye's fluttered open.

Syn buried her head into his chest. He could feel her smiling against his bare skin.

"Sleep well?" Din asked, kissing her again and he pulled her in closer.

He missed these moments of quiet they had together in the mornings. The Child was always awake early. It meant Din wasn't able to linger in bed with her as much as he wanted.

"I feel like a new woman," Syn said lazily. "I'm also not going to be able to look anyone in the eye this morning."

"No one cares," Din said with a brief chuckle. "Well, maybe one might care. But that is his problem."

Din's gaze trailed down to her hand again. Her ring was cold against his skin. He couldn't stop himself from running his finger over it. She was his and now the rest of the world would know now.

"You jealous shit," Syn said dryly, finally looking up at him. She was smiling despite her words. "I'm all yours and always will be."

"And I'm all yours," Din said with a gentle smile. "Forever."

They lazed in bed until the need for food made them both rise. After a very late breakfast, Din went and fetched the Child. Syn had been too embarrassed to leave the house, despite Din's reassurance no one would be bothered by the noise from the bedroom antics. Mandalorian's lived in close quarters and no one was embarrassed by such things. It had only been his jealously that had made it want to be heard by others.

They did very little for the next few days except enjoy being a clan together. The tribe left them alone with the exception of Syn being needed for one of the Foundlings. Din found it very hard to leave when he knew they couldn't stay any longer. Syn needed to head to Nevarro to speak to Karga about her job offer. Din needed to make the trip to the man Karga had told him about. None of the tribe had known anything about other Mandalorian's. Especially not ones that would be able to help him find the Jedi.

The other problem was every time he saw Syn hold baby Mia, Din wanted to drag her back to the bedroom and start on their own family. Something he knew was an impossibility until he found the Jedi. It didn't stop him thinking about it every time he saw them together.

She was his and that was everything Din could ever hope for.

Flying back to Nevarro was another long trip. Syn had sent a message ahead to Greef telling him she accepted his offer and was on her way to discuss terms. The Child was quieter this time having been run ragged by the Foundlings. They did nothing but sleep and laze around. Syn had acquired some new books, which she spent a lot of time reading to the Child. Din used the time to clean every weapon in the locker. They'd been neglected during his time on Osoria. It took him three times as long because the Child wanted to help.

And he wasn't much help at all. Neither was Syn who was doing very little to discourage the Child.

Nevarro was busy as usual. Din was grateful when both Greef and Cara greeted them at the ship port.

"Good to see you both," Greef said warmly, as he offered his hand to Din.

Cara greeted Syn as well. Din was surprised to see the two women share a quick embrace. The Child was reaching for Greef so Din handed him over.

"Come, let's have a drink," Greef said cheerfully as he bounced the Child in his arms. "Then we can talk business."

Syn fell into step beside Greef. Another thing that surprised Din. He hung back while the two of them spoke.

"Is that a ring on your girl's finger?" Cara asked.

Din glanced at her out of the side of his peripheral vision. She had a smug grin on her face as she looked back at him.

"Yes," Din said simply.

Underneath his helmet, he couldn't stop his happy smile. The sun in Nevarro caught the glint of beskar with every swing of Syn's arms. He was mesmerised by it.

"And where was my invite to the wedding?" Cara asked, punching his arm.

Din flinched. Cara had some power behind her punches even when she pulled them.

"Mandalorian's have private ceremonies." Din resisted the urge to rub his arm. "We married a few days ago."

"I suppose congratulations are in order then," Cara said with a small chuckle. "I'm guessing you'll be settling down here too?"

"After I find the Jedi," Din said carefully. He and Syn hadn't actually made any set plans on what would happen after he found the people of the Child.

It was another thing heavy on his mind. Din was ready to take his helmet off for good once he reunited the Child with his own kind. He wanted nothing more than a life of peace and quiet, with the woman he loved and with the warriors he hoped to raise with her. It was a daunting thought for him. To put aside everything his entire life had revolved around.

"I'll take good care of her," Cara's voice dropped so only he could hear it. "The promise still stands."

Din remembered back to the trip to Nevarro and that promise. Cara had been polishing her rifle in the cockpit with him while they talked about the plan to go back to Nevarro when Syn had been captured. He had told Cara that nothing else mattered except for Syn and the Child's safety. Without any prompting Cara had promised she'd make sure the kid and Syn got out safely and she'd protect them with her life.

"Thank you." Din put all of his gratitude into those two words.

"You're at least staying around long enough to celebrate you getting hitched without telling anyone?"

The gleam in Cara's eye told Din this was going to be a bad idea. A very bad idea.

"Sure."

Din knew he was going to regret this. But the search for the Jedi could wait for another few days at least.
