Chapter VI In Their Own Quirky Ways
"The U.A sports festival first-year stage qualifier! The first game is an obstacle course race!" Present Mic announced. "It's a cruel chicken race where anything goes as long as you stay on course!" He explained happily and Alexa squeals in shock while she dodges his hand.
"Woah!" Alexa gives Present Mic a pointed look.
"We'll bring you the exciting scenes with camera robots set around the course!" He explained and pretend as if nothing happened.
"You don't need us to explain the race unless it's Pokemon related..." Professor Sycamore muttered under his breath and Diantha simply smiles nervously.
"Now then- can the golden eggs aiming to be future heroes get through the mass of Robo Infernos?!" Present Mic yelled and completely awestruck by Gallade's performance. "Would you look at that folks! Gallade from Class 1-A is gathering leaves out of nowhere!?"
"That attack is a magical leaf." Professor Sycamore explained. "That move cannot be invaded once it locked on their targets."
Gallade uses a magical leaf to the zero-pointers and it explodes the whole robot before catching them up. "I wonder how much they earn money to build this stuff." He whispered and runs fasts to catch them.
Ophelia glances back and sighing in relief no one died yet by the machine.
"Hey! Someone's trapped underneath!"
"Wouldn't that kill them?"
"Will people die at this sports festival!?"
"What a bunch of idiots..." Meowstic commented and sighs heavily. "They declare a war on us but they're completely terrified by the robots. You sense someone trapped in the robots by Todoroki's ice?" He asked his Trainer curiously.
"Two." Ophelia immediately answered. "One from Eijiro and the other is from Crystal's classmate."
"That would be Tetsu-kun." Crystal immediately guessed the second person. "His Quirk is steel and his whole body covered with metal. If it's him, he won't die from it."
"Like I'd die!" Someone breaks the zero-pointers to reveal Kirishima using his Quirk hardening to protect himself from the crash.
"Kirishima from Class 1-A was underneath! That's crazy!" Present Mic yelled with a disbelief look on his face.
He sighs in relief before glaring at Todoroki coldly. "That bastard, Todoroki! He'd time it on purpose so it'd be right when they fell. Why can't he do it like Aileen-san, Ophelia-san and Gallade-san to destroy them without harming anyone!? If it hadn't been me, someone would've died!"
Kirishima Eijiro! Quirk: Hardening! His body can get super hard! He can become the strongest spear or the strongest shield!
The second zero-pointer starting to crack. "That Class A..." The person growled angrily and it shattered to reveal the gray-haired boy as his whole body covered with metal. "Really is filled with bastards!"
"Tetsutetsu from Class B was also underneath! That's also crazy!" Present Mic yelled.
"If it hadn't been me, someone would've died!" Tetsutetsu commented and still bitter for Todoroki leaving it like that.
Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu! Quirk: Steel! His body can become like steel. He can become the strongest spear or the strongest shield!
"Todoroki needs to check his surroundings before anyone gets killed by it." Gallade commented and sighing heavily as he managed to catch them up. "To think those two shared similar Quirks. Not to mention, they said the same thing!"
"Eh? What do you mean similar Quirk?" Crystal asked the blade Pokemon curiously.
"They're both strong in defensive skills but the difference is that your friend can turn into steel whereas Eijiro turned his body into hardening." Gallade explains calmly.
"I starting to think if they're related due to similar Quirks." Scorbunny commented and tilting his head.
"Our Quirks are pretty much the same!?" Kirishima cried while running to find out someone has the same Quirk as him but a different name. "I have a hard enough time standing out as it is!"
"Wait, you little-" Tetsutetsu growled in annoyance while running.
"Class 1-A Bakugou! Since the bottom's blocked, he goes overhead! Clever!" Present Mic announced.
"Oya, oya! It seems like they're starting to catch up." Ophelia giggled and glancing behind her to see some students are catching them up.
"You seriously need to stop watching Haikyuu." Aileen commented and sighing heavily. "You're starting to copy that phrase of oya." She was forced against her own will to watched Haikyuu and Ophelia wouldn't stop gushing over the hot boys. The blue-haired girl stopped her from buying more merchandise of Kuroo Tetsurō.
"Tehee~ Oya, oya, oya, oya lo la lei! Oya, oya, oya, lo la lei! Hurray! " Ophelia sings to annoy Aileen and she makes a successful job.
"YOU BRAT!" Aileen yelled to run in her direction and slaps the blonde girl's head.
"Ow!" Ophelia whimpered and holding her head while running. "So mean."
From the bystanders, the teachers are impressed by their skills. "As expected, most of the group that's gone ahead is from Class A." Snipe complimented them.
"Class B and the other courses aren't bad, either!" All Might pointed out and Ruby Witch nodded her head.
"It's because of the incident and Sycamore's speech, it makes them more motivation to fuel their will." Ruby Witch explained while watching the students. "Class A are the only ones who faced them and moreover, those girls and Gallade... those three have a powerful house level of a pro-hero ahead of them. They also gained a title off heroes of 1-A." Someone managed to catch her attention and hoping the person would join her agency. The person shares similar features to her former mentor.
"Those three should've been third years by now if only they didn't reject the offer." Dragonite commented and watching them. "Somehow they don't want to leave their classmates behind. For Class A... they don't spend a lot of time standing around."
"Those who experienced firsthand that world above them through the incident at USJ...those who had fear planted in their hearts... those who dealt with it and pulled through... they all used that experience to drown out their hesitation." Aizawa explained calmly. "When they watch Aileen and Ophelia handled the Nomu by themselves without hesitation. They wanted to grow stronger to meet their level."
"Aileen, Crystal and Ophelia faced worse than they could imagine before they came here." Professor Sycamore spoke up with a melancholy look on his face. "They always stumble when it involves Myths or Legendary Pokemon that some evil organizations tried to control them. They're going to get involved and save them despite we have no heroes."
"You allowed them to get through it?" Present Mic couldn't help but ask with a disbelief look on his face. "What about those officers you have?"
"Those evil organizations always ensure no amount of evidence to put them down." Alexa answered. "Throughout their whole journey at the age of 10 with their Pokemon, they grow stronger and control their powers completely. They may have their own mentor but those girls wanted to push themselves further."
"It pains for me as a father to let my children go to fight them by themselves but... their determination and willing to save the Pokemon... won't stop them to use powers for good to fight against evil." Professor Sycamore explained.
Alexa smiles softly before pressing the microphone on. "Did you guys actually think the first barrier is easy as you think?" She asked them with a mischief look on her face. "What about the second barrier?" They stopped to see the ground is missing. "If you don't wanna fall, then cross over those ropes! If you guys are lucky enough to think of a better option... you're more than welcome to try! The second barrier is-"
"The fall!" Present Mic yelled.
"Good thing I inherit my mother's abilities." Crystal smirked and Scorbunny hugs her neck tight. "Ready for hopping, Scorbunny?"
"You betcha!" Scorbunny answered happily. "Yahoo!" Crystal jumps high from one place to another without using the rope.
Aileen didn't hesitate to fall off the cliff before using her water whip to swing around like a Tarzan. Ophelia laughs happily before using her psionic energy to fly off while Meowstic is holding into her.
"Look at that folks! Class B LaRusso Crystal jumps off the cliff so easily without breaking a sweat! Class A Sycamore Aileen Luna swings around like a female version of Tarzan! That blue-haired girl sure is quite a daredevil!" Present Mic announced.
"That rabbit who's holding onto LaRusso is a Pokemon called Scorbunny!" Rotom Dex explained happily. "Scorbunny is a rabbit Pokemon. Once Scorbunny is ready for battle, the pads above its nose and under its feet give off intense heat. The soles on its feet are also said to bring good luck."
"That rabbit is also a Pokemon too!? I actually thought it a pet and nothing else!"
"Yeah, he's actually a Pokemon!" Rotom Dex bragged. "Class A Ambrosius Ophelia Fay is actually flying!? She never flew from her entire life!" He yelled and watching the screen closely.
"She used her psionic energy to levitate herself and from what we can see, Ambrosius trained to see how much time she can fly." Diantha explained calmly and she's completely impressed by their actions to see them using powers freely. It makes her happy to see they didn't hide to reveal true potentials.
"Woah!" Gallade dodges from the big dagger tied up with a silver wire. "A female version of Tangela in pink hair!?" He commented while jumping from one cliff to another. He heard the part of the pink-haired Tangela girl calling her gadgets babies. "Is she actually give birth to a gadget or something else? This world is getting weirder."
"A lot of different people are working hard for their chance, huh, Eraser Head?" Present Mic asked with a wicked smile.
It irked Aizawa angrily to see no one dares to step in whereas the others are sweat-dropping. "What are you idiots stopping for?" He asked the first years bitterly.
"Take a leap of faith people! Think of an outside box!" Alexa advises them. "Now, shall we see who's taking the first lead!" She glances at the Kalos Champion.
"We have Todoroki Shoto is taking the first lead and easily getting through first." Diantha answered calmly with an amusement look."Followed by LaRusso Crystal, Sycamore Aileen Luna, Ambrosius Ophelia Fay and Sycamore Gallade made the second barrier at ease. Wait, there's Bakugou Katsuki are gaining them up slowly without taking a break."
Todoroki glances back to see the four of them are catching up slowly to steal the first place. "Damn it!" The ash-blond haired by swears and using his Quirk to make his speed faster.
"The lead pack is a step ahead, but below them, everyone's clumped together!" Present Mic announced and the audiences are whispering at those talented students.
"They haven't announced how many people will make it through, so you can't relax! Push forward!" Professor Sycamore gives them the motivation to push themselves further while silently cheering on Aileen and her childhood friends.
Todoroki stops running as he made it to the final barrier deserted place. Present Mic smirked darkly. "And now, we've quickly arrived at the final barrier! The reality here is... that it's a minefield! It's a setup so that you can tell where the mines are if you look carefully!"He explained the final barrier before they're going through the finish line.
"At least no Voltorb to chase and explode on us..." Aileen commented and smiling nervously. "I conclude this school is full of a sadist."
"You got that right." Crystal nodded her head.
"You have to exploit your eyes and legs. Good luck!" Alexa gives them a hint to avoid getting explode. "Oh, a friendly reminder these landmines are for games, so they're not that powerful, however-"
"But they're loud and flashy enough to make you wet your pants!" Present Mic finished Alexa's sentence.
"Great!" Meowstic sighs in annoyance. "They love to scare them. It also depends on the person who wants to wet themselves."
"Mineta for instance." Gallade immediately thinks of the person who easily gets scared and nearly wet his pants.
One of the students manages to step in the mine and sending them off. Todoroki on the other hand, he's watching his steps carefully whereas Bakugou catches him up fast than the girls and Gallade.
"This doesn't affect me!" Bakugou yelled and Aileen ducks down to avoid getting hit by his Quirk. "Bastard, don't declare war on the wrong person!" Todoroki dodges his attack.
Aileen clicks her tongue and her eyes glowed. "You..." She growled in annoyance.
"And now, we've got someone new in the lead!" Present Mic announced and making the audience uproar. "Rejoice, mass media! It's the kind of development you guys love! Hey, hey, hey, the rest of the pack is also speeding up!"
Gallade manages to catch Iida before placing him down in a safe place before continuing to run. The blade Pokemon ducks and begins to attack Todoroki and Bakugou. "Gallade got involved as they push and pull at each other, can the three at the top remain in the lead?" Alexa asked out of the blue until there's a huge explosion behind them.
"Woah!" Aileen yelped and Crystal managed to catch the blue-haired girl by her lasso. "Thanks, Crissie."
She simply nodded her head and looking up at the sky to see a green part of the machine is flying over the finish line. "Is-is that your classmate, Lee-lee?" She stuttered with a disbelief look on her face.
"Yeah!" Aileen answered happily before she smirked. "I believe our beloved happy-go-lucky would take that first place before Izuku since she just chills before catching up." They shared amusement looks.
"Why don't we catch up?" Scorbunny asked them curiously. "One of us can get in first before her."
"No holding back?" Crystal raises her fist up towards Aileen.
"No hard feelings and may the best player wins." Aileen declared and her fists pump together with Crystal while they ignore the strong wind.
"What's with that force!?" Professor Sycamore exclaimed with a surprised look on his face. "Midoriya Izuku! He uses the part of the machine as a shield to gather all those mines before explosives them! To blast him off high whereas Sycamore Gallade, Bakugou Katsuki and Todoroki Shoto are battling to take the first lead!"
"He's using as an outside box without using his Quirk to make it through the finish line." Diantha complimented Midoriya's plan. "He's a clever boy not to reveal his Quirk to leave them a surprise for later."
"The question is- was it an accident or he did it on purpose? Class A's Midoriya is in hot pursuit with that blast!" Alexa asked curiously and screams in surprise. "Ambrosius Ophelia Fay are neck to neck with Midoriya Izuku! Who will get the first place!?"
Ophelia's body covered with a purple aura while Meowstic is holding onto her neck. She winks at Midoriya and smiles sheepishly at him. "Sorry, Izuku. I'm actually competitive with this! See ya~!" She flies off ahead while ignoring his yell of surprise.
"Class A Ambrosius is taking the first lead!" Professor Sycamore announced and the whole crowd cheers.
"Witch Girl don't get in my way!" Bakugou yelled in anger and catching up while Todoroki is chasing them.
"I was just getting started!" Gallade tonfa's glowed. "Slash!" He attacked Bakugou first before using him as a springboard to bounce off.
"TWINKLE TOES!" Roaring in anger before he gets explode by the mines.
"The three formerly in the lead have stopped trying to slow each other down are chasing Midoriya!" Present Mic announced.
"Meowstic use psyshock toknock them!" Ophelia commanded her constraint Pokemon.
"Hope you enjoyed shocking guys!" Meowstic commented as his ears twitch up to shock Gallade, Todoroki and Bakugou.
"Gah!" The three of them cried out in pain to feel the power of electricity is stronger than Kaminari.
"Ambrosius's Pokemon, Meowstic, immobilize them temporarily to stop them from taking the first lead!" Present Mic yelled and didn't expect Aizawa's class are full of surprises. "Eraser Head, your class is amazing! What're you teaching them!?" He asked with a disbelief look on his face.
Ophelia glowed brighter to increase her flight skills than relying to ride on Garchomp's back. She wanted to show the entire world Ophelia isn't a hopeless girl to let the Pokemon guard her all the time.
"I didn't do anything." Aizawa answered bluntly. "They got each other fired up on their own will."
"U.A. sports festival, first-year stage!" Alexa exclaimed and ignoring Aizawa's glare. "Who could've predicted the developments at the beginning or this conclusion?" Ophelia spins to dodge the ice sending her and uses psionic energy to blast them back.
It loses her focus and spinning around like a tornado while Meowstic is holding onto her dear life. "OPHELIA DO SOMETHING!"
"I ACTUALLY FORGOT HOW TO LAND BECAUSE I'VE NEVER FLEW LONGER THAN BEFORE!"
"FOR ARCEUS SAKE! IF WE'RE ALIVE, I'LL SKIN YOU ALIVE! I ACTUALLY FORGOT PSYCHIC MOVE BECAUSE OF YOU!"
"AAHH!"
"Right now, the first person back in the stadium is that woman... Ambrosius Ophelia Fay's made a huge splash!" Present Mic announced the winner. Ophelia and Meowstic are holding each other and crash on the finish line banner.
"Oooh... that's gotta hurt." Alexa winced and feels sorry for them.
"I would say 5 out of 10 performance for the landing." Present Mic scores Ophelia's landing.
The whole crowd are cheering or congratulating Ophelia despite their world are spinning around. The blonde girl uses her psionic energy to remove the banner and laughs while dizzy. "I see eight Jirachi's around me... I thought she's one wish Pokemon."
"Ahh... give me a second and I'll kill you Ophelia." Meowstic groaned while his eyes are spinning.
Midoriya made it to second place followed by Todoroki, Bakugou, Aileen, Crystal and Gallade. The dark-green-haired boy huffs tiredly before approaching Ophelia and Meowstic. "Ophelia-san and Meowstic-san!? Are you guys okay!?"
"Wah... I didn't know you have a twin Izuku~" Ophelia sings and Midoriya laughs nervously.
"I think that spin makes you crazier and dizzier." Aileen joined them and lifting the blonde girl up in ease.
"Thank chu, Mama Lee-lee!" She shook her head and the dizziness fade. "Sorry I stole your first place, Izuku." Ophelia apologizes with a solemn look on her face. She knows Midoriya is trying so hard to surpass his classmates especially them.
Midoriya shook his head with a soft smile. "Ophelia-san, it's okay! You won fair and square since you caught me off guard by your flying skill."
"Ahaha..." Ophelia laughs nervously. "I trained to see how long I can fly since I'm more of offensive skills than defensive. I just need to be creative of my Quirk." Meowstic roared and scratches Ophelia's face. "Ow!"
"YOU IDIOT! WE COULD HAVE DIED!" Meowstic yelled angrily and continuing to beat his Trainer.
Midoriya blinks in surprise and Aileen turns his body to look away from them. "Ignore them because Ophie sees it coming."
"Ye-yeah!" He stuttered nervously and yelps to see Crystal is standing right in front of him with her Scorbunny. "Yo-yo-you're their childhood friend!"
"That's right!" Crystal nodded her head with a soft smile. "Thank you for befriending them while I wasn't around. Sorry if Ophie is a bit handful." She bows her head.
"No!" He waves it off. "Ophelia-san is a caring and thoughtful person."
Crystal simply smiles before they heard Present Mic's voice. "And now, they're finishing one after another! We'll make a list of the results later, but for now, good work!" He complimented their hard work.
"Fee-chan you were amazing!" Uraraka cheered for her friend and Ophelia smiles in pain. "Ah, your faces are covered with scratches!" She panics and Aileen simply shrugged her shoulders.
"Teaching her a lesson not to pull the stunt she isn't ready." Meowstic answered bluntly while crossing his arms.
"He's cruel." Ophelia whimpered before munching oran berry to cure her face.
Crystal shook her head. "We shouldn't celebrate early yet just because you're in the first place, Ophie." She reminded the blonde girl.
"I know." Ophelia sighs softly before looking at the crowd. "This is just the beginning of the first game." She whispered before catching a glimpse of a young man with fiery red wings is watching them but mainly at her.
Yaoyorozu huffs tiredly and manages to get to the finish line. "This isn't how it was supposed to..." She cringed in disgusts to hear a familiar voice.
"Ahaha!" Gallade sighs angrily to see Mineta uses his balls to stick Yaoyorozu's back. "I killed two birds with one stone! I'm a gen- gah!"
Gallade didn't hesitate to kick Mineta hard like a soccer ball. "Meowstic, incoming pervert alert!"
"Psyshock!" Meowstic uses his power to burn Mineta into crisps and he hums in satisfaction.
"Gallade-kun!" Yaoyorozu smiles in relief. "Thank you."
Gallade simply bows his head. "I hate his pervert attitude. Ophelia is struggling to shut her mental Quirk down because of his loud thoughts."
Yaoyorozu smiles in sympathy and looking in Ophelia's direction. Who is busy chatting with Uraraka, Midoriya, Aileen and Crystal. "I appreciate your gesture Gallade."
He closes his eyes with a smile. "No problemo, Yaoyorozu-san. How I wish some men need to respect women."
"The first game of the first-year stage is finally over." Midnight announced and making everyone silent. "Now, take a look at the results!" She showed them the results who are able to make it in the next round.

Crystal, Aileen, Gallade and Ophelia are smiling at each other they manage to get in the next round. Midnight slaps her whip to get their attention. "The top 42 made it through to the next round. It's unfortunate, but don't worry even if you didn't make it!" She assured them with a wicked smile. "We've prepared other chances for you to shine. The real competition begins next!"
"Why do I get a feeling goosebumps for a reason?" Ophelia whispered and rubbing her arms. "I didn't even use my seer powers only for Lee-lee's speech." She explained noticing their looks as she pouts in response.
"The press cavalry be all over it! Give it your all!" Midnight yelled at them and raising her hands up. "Now then, here is the second game. I already know what it is, but what could it be? What could it be?" She pushes her glasses up. "I just said it, and now here it is... Cavalry battle!"
"A what?" Meowstic blinks his eyes while looking at them and they shrugged their shoulders.
"Let me explain." She showed them the picture of two Thirteen and Present Mic is carrying All Might. "The participants can form teams of two to four people as they wish. It's basically the same as a regular cavalry battle, but one thing that's different is... based on the results of the last game, each person has been assigned a point value."
"It's like whoever gets the highest point, can make it to finals." Riko whispered under her breath and Crystal nodded her head. "I wonder how much bounty we have once we form a group of two or four people maximum."
Midnight slaps the whip angrily and she flinches in fear. "You guys don't hold back even though I'm talking, huh!?" She asked angrily at the students.
"Talk about short-tempered..." Ophelia commented through Meowstic mind.
"Yes, that's right! And the points assigned go up by five starting from the bottom." Midnight explained calmly. "So 42nd place gets five points, and 41st gets ten points! And the point value assigned to the first place is... ten million!" Ophelia blinks and could feel all their eyes are on her.
"Wah... lucky me~!" Ophelia laughs happily in amused without a care in the world and Meowstic groaned in annoyance.
"Why is she my Trainer again?" He asked and gripping his ears tight.
Aileen, Gallade and Crystal sigh heavily since no one would team up with Ophelia because her bounty is high. Everyone are set on her to steal the ten million.
"It's a survival of the fittest, with a chance for those at the bottom to overthrow the top!" Midnight declared and the blonde girl can hear heaven is calling her.
