It was a week after the incident with Clayface, and reluctantly, Lincoln has marked down his own friend as a criminal. And he also scolded Lucius for making Lori a suit and equipment and giving her one of his bat-pods. However, he decided NOT to dissemble the suit for his purposes. It was a rather sleepless week for Lincoln, and as much as they tried to, none of his family was able to get through to him. Alfred warned him not to push them away too much, or they resent him and he may lose them forever.

Lincoln took that advice into account, as today, his day job required him to make a visit to the Gotham City museum. Wayne Enterprises was now funding the place and it's new and upcoming science exhibit. Hearing this news made Lisa interested as she and the rest of the family accompanied Lincoln to the museum.

Rita:"Wow. This place is much more...bigger than the museum back home."

Lisa:"Most definitely. Such exhibits here are more extraordinary than anything I've seen before."

Lincoln:"As they should. I'm funding it, remember?"

Lori:"Yeah, we know."

Lynn Sr:"Lori..."

Lori:"Oh, come on! He's literally just bragging at this point!"

Lincoln:"You're not really in a position to complain Lori!"

Lori:"It's been a week! When are you guys gonna get over it!"

Rita:"Until you have grandkids."

Lori:"What?!"

Lincoln:"Enough, Lori. This discussion is over."

Lynn Sr:"Let's just try to enjoy yourself while we're here. We're making this a family day!"

Lisa:"I know I'll enjoy myself!"

Lucy:"Same here."

One again, was everyone but Lincoln, frightened by Lucy's appearing out of nowhere.

Lincoln:"Really, Lucy? What are you interested in here?"

Lucy:"You may not believe it...but find the creepy crawly exhibit rather interesting."

Lola:"I wonder why."

Lynn:"Nothing says horror like giant bugs."

Lincoln:"You can also check some bats too. They're in the animal exhibit. I'll take you there."

Lucy:"Thank you, Lincoln.

Lincoln:"Now, let's all go in teams. I'll take the younger ones. Mom, Dad, you take the older ones."

Rita:"Sounds good, Lincoln. But Lily will be staying with me."

Lily:"Ya! Ya!"

Lynn Sr:"We meet back here at around the afternoon."

Lincoln:"Right. Now, let's all get to it."

And with that, they all go to different exhibits around the museum. Little did they know that they were being watched. An enemy of the Batman was here, and he had plans to see the bat hunted down by the city.

Underneath the museum was an underground lab, one where a scientist, Kirk Langstrom, and his wife, Francine, had been work on what would be considered cross-species genetics. All in the sake of curing healing loss, which dear ol' Doctor Langstrom was dealing with himself, the two scientists had been working with vampire bat DNA, crossing it with Kirk's own blood. They got the idea from the Batman, knowing the flying primates have great hearing.

At the moment, their research seemed complete, and they were about ready to show the world. Having set up a camera to record, the two stood in front of it, getting ready to present.

Francine:"I'm so proud of you, honey. Go on, tell them."

Kirk:"Alright, erm...H-Hello world. No, that's terrible."

Francine:"Come on, Kirk. Just be yourself."

Kirk:"Well...Full Genetic Re-Splicing was a success. The recombinant molecules-"

Before he could finish, a gun was pointed at his head, frightening both and him and his wife. The camera was knocked over and the video picked up their captor. Heretic...

Francine:"Oh, god..."

Kirk:"Who are you? What do you wa-?"

Heretic:"The formula...give it to me."

Francine:"W-What?"

Heretic:"I want...everything you've worked so hard to accomplish."

Kirk:"...T-This is our lives work. We can't just...hand it over to."

Francine:"Honey, please. I doesn't him to either of us. Please."

The Good Doctor looked at his frightened wife, then back at the assassin, who clicked his gun...

Heretic:"I won't ask again."

Kirk:"...O-Okay. Just...don't hurt my wife."

Heretic:"Make it fast then."

Rushing over to his computer, Kirk started typing commands that made the injector he was planning to use siphon the chemical formula into a single test tube. He then carefully takes it and hands it over to Heretic.

Kirk:"This is the only sample..."

Heretic:"(takes and examines the tube) Your dedication to my cause is we respected, Dr. Langstrom."

Francine:"Please, whatever you're planning-"

Heretic:"Is none of your concern. But I'll be sure to put this through...proper testing. As for you two..."

Then, out of nowhere, bags were put over the couples head...

Meanwhile, Lincoln was taking, Lucy, Lana, Lola and Lucy around the history of animals exhibit, and was thankful that he didn't have to explain that none of animals were real and got stuffed. Except for what hang on the walls, which were insects and bats. Although, one appeared to be missing. Both Lincoln and Lisa cupped their chins in suspicion.

Lisa:"What would somebody want with the corpse of a Desmodontinae?"

Her siblings look at her with confusion.

Lisa:"...Vampire bat."

Lucy:"Vampire Bat?"

Lincoln:"Bit of a long shot, but I heard that one of the founders of the science exhibit had been doing experiments with Bat DNA."

Lana:"Who would do something so harsh as to experiment on these poor creatures?"

Lucy:"I agree with Lana on this one."

Lincoln:"We can only hope that they have good intentions."

Little did they know that they were being watched, by a sniper. Heretic could have spent a fortune getting the best sniper-trained assassin in Gotham. But, the death threats to his daughter was enough convince Floyd Lawton to work for Heretic as his professional name...Deadshot...

Deadshot:"(sighs) The things I do for her."

He was aiming a tranquilizer rifle at Lincoln, but not to kill apparently. Out of every chance to kill Wayne, Heretic decides not to try this time, but instead had something else in mind...

Deadshot:"Then again...taking a shot at Wayne doesn't always come all the time."

Back inside, Lucy got a sudden feeling, like a sense of immediate danger. She didn't know what or where it was, but she could sense it was aiming at her brother.

Lucy:"I guess all that time spending with the bats really paid off."

It was like echolocation. And at the moment, she could hear the sound of gun clicking. Without a second thought, she leaped at her brother.

Lincoln:"Whoa!"

And then, the gun fired.

Lucy:"Uh!"

Lincoln:"Lucy...!"

Lincoln quickly caught her as she collapsed. In her neck was a tranquilizer dart that was already injecting an unknown substance into her. The museum went on high alert after the first shot, and from where Deadshot was, he was throwing the rifle to the ground, breaking it.

Deadshot:"Damn it, little girl! You made me miss!"

Lana, Lola and Lisa were around Lincoln, who carried Lucy bridal style as they all look scared out of their minds. But Lincoln managed to maintain focus.

Lincoln:"We need to get the others and get out of here fast!"

Then, Deadshot was getting a call from his ever so present employer.

Heretic:"Is it done?"

Deadshot:"No...I missed."

Heretic:"How. Is that. Possible for you?"

Deadshot:"A little girl took the shot for Wayne."

Heretic:"...You know, I actually believe that. I believe this could still be used to my advantage. As for you Lawton, considering the fact that you failed to hit the designated target, you will only be paid half of what you were promised."

Deadshot:"That ain't gonna cut it for me."

Heretic:"Oh, really? You know, you have a very nice daughter Lawton...I'd hate to see her buried next to her father."

The assassin's eyes widened as he dropped the phone and then saw a bright red dot on his chest. Knowing that there was no way out of this, he was forced to go with Heretic's offer.

Meanwhile, the rest of Louds reunited and were horrified to see what happened to Lucy. She was quickly rushed to the hospital, where Doctor Thompkins and Nurse. Ronnie Anne was looking out for her. Of course, she felt like she was having a hard time concentrating with all the eyes looking at her.

Rita:"How is she, Doctor?"

Leslie:"From the looks of it, she had taken a large dose from a tranquilizer dart, so she's gonna be out for a while."

Ronnie Anne:"And it's best if you look after her until she recovers."

Lincoln:"We can manage that."

Leslie:"Good. Now, would you like to have her kept here or would you like to take her home?"

Rita:"Have her take her home. We'll be sure to look after her at every waking moment."

Leslie:"Very well. We'll go have her checked out right now."

Rita then followed Thompkins while Ronnie Anne turned over to Lincoln, glaring at him.

Ronnie Anne:"You mind telling me how exactly did this happen?"

All eyes were on Lincoln now, as he gave out a heavy sigh.

Lincoln:"...An assassination attempt of some sort. The shot was meant for me, but Lucy somehow pushed me out of the way and got tagged herself."

Lori:"So all this is your fault for not protecting her?"

Then everyone turned to Lori, with Luna glaring at her.

Lori:"Maybe if you were a real big brother and knew how to take a bullet for your family, this wouldn't have happened."

And then Luna punched her in the face. The rest of the siblings, even Lincoln and Ronnie Anne managed to put some distance between Luna and Lori, not wanting a fight to break out.

Lori:"Luna, what the heck?!"

Luna:"What's your problem?! Would it kill you not to be yourself?! Our little sis is out cold and you turn to Lincoln?!"

Lori:"Well, can you blame me?! Our 'Big Brother' over there is only gonna put us in danger!"

Luna:"Right! Take advice from Lori, cuz everything's always worked out her way!"

Lori:"What are you getting at!"

Luna:"Every decision you make turns from bad to worse!"

Lana:"Yeah! I'm with Luna on this one!"

Lola:"So am I!"

Lynn:"Me too!"

Lisa:"I concur! Lori always makes the worse decisions!"

Lori:"No, I don't! I literally have never bad decisions before!"

Lisa:"On the contrary, eldest female sibling, I've made a list of your bad decisions that says otherwise!"

Lincoln:"GUYS! I know right now, things are stressful, but taking our anger out of Lori isn't gonna make Lucy recover any faster. I didn't ask to take a shot for me, but I know she does not deserve it. And besides...Lori's right."

Sister:"Huh?!"

Ronnie Anne:"Seriously?"

Lincoln:"In truth...I'm still not used to being an older brother. And considering how much...work I've been juggling, it hasn't gotten any better."

They took on what Lincoln said. Ronnie Anne felt out of place here, so she decided to make herself scarce.

Ronnie Anne:"I'll, uh...leave you guys to...whatever's going on here."

Luna:"...(sighs) Bro, you shouldn't hit yourself."

Lincoln:"Nothing that's been said doesn't change what has happened...my own questions are 'Why is a tranq dart? What if they weren't trying to kill me. What if they had something planned?'"

Lynn:"And if they did, what is it?"

Lincoln:"I'll have to find out soon as we get home."

Lisa:"Elder Sibling, I know I'm technically not allowed to anymore, but would it be too much to ask if I could be willing to help you in this?"

Lincoln:"How, Lisa?"

Lisa:"I could only imagine that there was something else within this tranquilizer. (Brings out the tranq dart)"

Lynn:"Wait, how did you get your hands on that?"

Lisa:"I...might've slipped it away while no one was looking. A trick I picked up from you, as a matter of fact."

Lynn:"Really? I'm impressed."

Lincoln:"Girls..."

Lisa:"Right. Anyway, I believe there was an unknown quantity inside the dart. I can be able to analyze it back that cave."

Lincoln:"I could do the same on my own."

Lisa:"Please, brother? It's been so boring being able to work as Oracle again. Just give me this one chance."

Lincoln:"...Fine. But this stays between you and me."

Lisa:"Thank you, Lincoln."

Lincoln:"And I don't want you experimenting with whatever's in that dart."

Lisa:"I would never!"

Lincoln:"Yeah, tell that to my venom samples...which I can't seem to find!"

While Lisa laughs awkwardly while she's eyed by her siblings, Ronnie Anne found Leslie just about finished with Rita and Lynn Sr checking Lucy out. She pulls out a bottle of Lucy's blood.

Ronnie Anne:"Hey, Leslie. Here's that blood sample you wanted."

Leslie:"Thank you, Ronnie Anne. I'll take a look at this as soon as possible."

By the time they go back to the Manor, the Louds immediately had Lucy settled into bed and were praying that she'd wake up soon. Alfred made sure to give her one of the most comfortable beds as possible.

Lincoln:"Thanks, Al. That'll be all."

Alfred:"Very well, sir."

Rita:"How long is she supposed stay tranquilized?"

Lincoln:"Probably all day. We'll be sure to take care of her until then. I have work to do?"

Lynn Sr:"Work for your job or for...your other job?"

Lincoln:"(walks away) Yes."

And as the parents were left in the dark, Lincoln almost immediately headed down to the cave. He was surprised to see that Lisa was already there and was already three steps ahead of him, given how she was already analyzing the contents of the dart.

Lisa:"Ah, Lincoln! Perfect timing! As you can see, I'm way ahead and am already working on it."

Lincoln:"I see that. Found anything yet?"

Lisa:"I'm checking to see if it matches any of the chemical compounds listed."

Lincoln:"I would search for something bigger than that. If there was something else, it has to be beyond the periodic table."

Lisa:"What? There is no way there can be- (computer dings) Oh, look. You were right."

Upon looking at what they found, they were shocked to see that the dart contained properties of DNA...Bat DNA.

Lisa:"Vampire Bat DNA? How is that possible?"

Lincoln:"That doesn't matter right now. Do you have any idea what will happen to Lucy with-?!"

But then, he was interrupted by his phone and looked to see that it was Ronnie Anne calling him.

Lincoln:"(answers it) Hello?"

Ronnie Anne:"Lincoln, is your Lucy still out cold?!"

Lincoln:"(looks at the screen) ...Yeah, I think so. I haven't checked on her yet though."

Ronnie Anne:"Well, you better do it now...and might even have her restrained because Dr. Thompkins found something in her blood."

Lincoln:"Let me guess, Bat DNA?"

Ronnie Anne:"...Yeah, actually. How'd you know?"

Lincoln:"Lisa."

Ronnie Anne:"Ah."

Lincoln:"Thanks for the heads-up, Ronnie Anne. I'll talk to you later. (Hangs up)"

Lisa:"...So? How are things?"

Lincoln:"We need to check up on Lucy! NOW!"

Speaking of whom, Lucy was still asleep as Lynn came in to check up on her.

Lynn:"(sighs) Hang in there, Lucy. You gotta wake up soon."

However, as she turned to leave, she heard her gothic sister grunt. Turning back again, Lynn saw that Lucy was beginning to thrash and grip the bed as she seemed awake now. Lynn walked slowly forward and then slowly backwards as she saw Lucy's nails digging into the bed, ripping it up as her fingers began to look like claws.

Lynn:"What the heck?!"

If that wasn't the weirdest thing, grey fur began to sprout around Lucy's body and her ears starts to grow sharp. And then, the REALLY weirdest thing was her sleeves had burst, showing off new bat wings. The final part was Lucy's mouth forming a bat snout and her teeth growing fangs. Lynn fell on her butt as she bared witness Lucy's transformation...into a She-Bat.

Lynn:"Holy..."

She-Bat Lucy:"SKREEEE! (flies forward)"

That screech was pretty much heard all around the manor, as the family's heads came out from their rooms just as Lincoln and Lisa were running down the hall...

Lisa:"That can't be good."

Lincoln:"It's just as I feared!"

Tumbling from a neighboring hall was Lynn, as she then lifts up her legs and braces herself as the She-Bat comes flying in. Just when the beast was about to attack, Lynn uses both her legs to kick her off and get back on her feet. The rest of the family look to see what is going on.

Lincoln:"Oh no..."

Lynn Sr:"What is that thing?!"

Lynn:"That's Lucy, you guys!"

Sisters:"What?!"

Lincoln:"It's true. That is Lucy."

The She-Bat Lucy recovered from Lynn's counter attack, breathing heavily as she looked to her family, her mouth drooling..

Rita:"How is that possible?!"

Lisa:"There was something else in the dart..."

Screeching, Lucy flew the rest of her family, who immediately ducked down and saw that she was flying to another hallway.

Lincoln:"Come on! We can't let her get away!"

They gave chase, just as Lucy seemed to be looking for a way out. Meanwhile, Alfred was walking down the hall with a platter of tea he planned to bring to for the Goth, when he suddenly saw the She-Bat flying into the hall he was in.

Alfred:"Good Heavens!"

She-Bat Lucy:"SKREEEE!"

The butler quickly ducked, dropping the platter in the process as Lucy swooped down to attack. But then, she quickly saw her way out as her family witnessed going straight out a window, leaving a giant bat-shaped hole behind. Ironic, isn't it?

Alfred:"My God, sir! What-?!"

Lincoln:"No time to explain, Alfred. We just need to capture her as soon as possible!"

Alfred:"Was...was that thing Miss Lucy?"

Lisa:"I'm afraid so, Mr. Pennyworth."

Alfred:"I see...I trust you know what to do, Master Lincoln?"

Looking to his parents, Lincoln felt at ease when he saw Rita nod at him, albeit hesitant. It shows that even though she's not fully supportive, she's willing to go along with Lincoln putting on the cowl to save their Gothic Little Girl.

Lincoln:"...Lisa. Come with me, we're going to have to synthesize an antidote."

Lisa:"I'm right with you there, brother."

Soon enough, they found themselves back in the cave, getting right onto working on a cure for Lucy. Luckily, it wasn't as difficult as anticipated.

Lisa:"It seems as if the dart was intended to mix the DNA of the subject with Bat DNA. Obviously, never going to end well. But, a simple fix. All we need to do is isolate the Bat DNA signature, thus removing it from Lucy's system. Then we can synthesize an antidote."

Lynn:"Is this gonna take a while?! We have our freak of a sister, now ever a bigger freak, flying somewhere above this stinkin' city! And-!"

Lincoln:"Mom?"

Rita:"Hon?"

Lynn Sr:"Junior..."

Lynn:"Sorry."

Lincoln:"I'm still not letting you be Robin again, Lynn. Besides, I have to handle this on my own."

Lynn:"Why?!"

Lincoln:"It's my fault she became that thing, Lynn. My family's getting caught in the crossfire of what I'm praying is not an upcoming war."

Rita:"Say what now?!'

Lynn:"And that's exactly why we should get involved, Linc! They made it personal, going after us! And you know it's not gonna end!"

Lincoln:"ENOUGH, Lynn! I won't. Let this be. Anyone else's burden."

As Lynn glared at her older brother, the computer dings...

Lisa:"There. A clean DNA sample."

Typing in a command, Lisa had the antidote created and given to Lincoln.

Lincoln:"Now all I have to do is make her take her medicine."

Lisa:"Ooh! And just a fair warning, it might not cure her permanently. We'll have to put her in quarantine once she's brought back.

Lincoln:"Understood."

And so, Lincoln suited up and become Batman once more while his family watched...awkwardly. At the press of a button, the Batwing was deployed and the Dark Knight was out once more.

The She-Bat Lucy was flying blindly across the city, unaware of where it was going, or that from a distance, was it monitored by something gathering data for certain people. They know who they are. But that didn't matter, as Batman was flying about all of Gotham in search of his turned sister.

Oracle:"Any idea on how you're going to inject the cure into Lucy without hurting her?"

Batman:"Not really...if she were still human at the moment. Considering the DNA of the Bat, the chances are that her body is able to withstand more than it can handle now."

Oracle:"That's a bit of a long shot, Lincoln."

Batman:"It's all I can think of. (Computer bleeps) Found her. I'm going in."

Ejecting from the Batwing, the Dark Knight had spread out his cape and began gliding to Lucy, who was directly below her. He started to dive directly towards her, practically tackling her in midair. Upon feeling the impact, Lucy flipped around and blocked Batman with her wing as he grabbed hold of her. Pretty soon, they were hitting solid ground and now was the perfect time for Batman to inject the cure into her.

Taking out the injector, Batman immediately stuck it into Lucy's neck and the cure was shot into her. However, Lucy knocked the Dark Knight off with surprising strength as she then screeched and flew back up into the sky...

Batman:"Damn."

Oracle:"Batman, have you neutralized Lucy?"

Batman:"Not yet. I administered the cure, but it wasn't enough. I'll need to give her a second dose."

Oracle:"Hmm. Do it as quickly as possible. There might be some side effects to her transformation that we might not be able to counter."

Batman:"Understood."

He then takes out his batclaw and fires at a nearby building. But when he was in midair, something knocked him out of the way and felt a pair of claws grabbed him by the shoulders and started to drag him as he found himself flying over Gotham. He looked up to see that it was Lucy, shrieking wildly as she then throws him onto a nearby building. Landing on the roof, Batman quickly recovered as he found himself in the middle of the roof, with Lucy flying at top speed, going circles around him.

Batman:"Come on, Lucy. You gotta work with me."

Moving his head from left to right, he was trying see where Lucy was flying, until he was knock off his feet once more. Landing on his back, Batman saw the She-Bat on top of him, and desperately tried to inject the cure into her once more. But Lucy knocked the injector out of his hand with her wing as she then gets all up in his face.

Batman was waiting for her to attack once more, maybe even sink her fangs into his neck like an actual vampire. But then, Lucy pulled back and seemed to be looking at him with confusion, tilting her head side to side. Batman was confused as well, but was starting to think that the cure was starting to take effect.

Batman:"...Lucy?"

She-Bat Lucy:"...L...L...L-L-Lin...coln?"

She started to reach out to him, but then saw her own wings and was beginning to realize what had happened to her. Batman could only guess that she was started to concentrate as he saw Lucy's wings revert back to arms, her grey fur sink back into her skin and her face reform back to normal. He was relieved to see his sister was back to normal again, as she had put her hand at her cowl...

Lucy:"Lincoln...I..."

Seeing that she was losing consciousness once again, the Dark Knight quickly caught her before she fell to the ground...

Oracle:"Batman?! Batman, are you alright? Did you get Lucy?"

Batman:"I have her... she's back to normal."

Oracle:"So, the cure worked then?"

Batman:"...It would seem so."

Calling in the Batwing, Batman failed to notice that from a distance, a surveillance drone had caught everything that happened, and the feedback was sent to the owner of the drone, Heretic...

Heretic:"...Promising."

Back at the cave, Lucy had come to and Lisa had filled her in on everything that just happened. She also found a patch on her arm, which Lisa explained was releasing the medicine into her system to make sure she wouldn't turn again.

Lucy:"Sigh. Do this is the only thing keeping me from changing again?"

Lisa:"It's temporary, we need to make more."

Lincoln:"For now, we'll be putting you under quarantine."

Lucy:"Does that mean I get to stay down here?"

Lincoln:"...For now, yes."

Lucy:"Then I got no problem with it."

Lisa:"Of course you don't."

Lincoln:"Lisa, keep watching her. I'll go get her some food and make sure to calm everybody down."

And with that, Lincoln left the cave while Lisa continued to monitor what was on the computer. Meanwhile, Lucy felt something sharp in her mouth. Feeling through her teeth with her finger, she felt fangs...bat fangs. It was like a dream come true, one she didn't want to end as when Lisa wasn't looking, she took the patch and ripped half of it off, smiling...
