Child Emperor's POV

The child S-Class stared intensely at the screen. The camera had latched on successfully to the Monster and was now transmitting live feed from its current location. The Being was running at supersonic speed through a massive compound, strangely enough at a speed that should have destroyed the camera, although damage readings were minimal. He must have built the camera stronger than he thought.

He recognized these halls. Metal Knight had sent him a detailed schematic of the Monster Association Headquarters alongside information about it. From the looks of it, the Hunter was sprinting directly into the inner sanctum of the MA, although he was looping in and out of the same area, presumably to cover more ground and find any stray monsters.

He felt the slightest bit more hopeful. The Hunter and the Monster Association, if they destroyed each other, yes, the Hero Association might just stand a chance.

That's unlikely.

Zombieman's POV

"What is this?"

The S-Class had stepped into the lab. In various enormous glass tubes were many test subjects, each labelled with a number. He recognized these, he had spent years in one after all.

But these were different. Instead of the partial growing process he had expected, they were all fully grown. Not to mention they did not look like fighting monsters, or if they were they capped out at Tiger at most. Why had Genus made so many of them?

Genus did not answer, instead going up to a test tube and touching it.

"Zombieman, do you know that Carnage Kabuto was killed in a single blow?" He did not, but that was hardly surprising. "Now, do you think he would have been killed if he had a healing factor?"

"Most likely not."

"You're wrong. Because he did have a healing factor."

Zombieman's head snapped over in surprise.

"Carnage Kabuto's healing was on par with yours, I would only consider him second to you because he was much larger and so it was slower. In fact, that was part of the reason I was so scared of him, even if I managed to ever destroy him it would do nothing to keep him down, he would likely regenerate like you."

"If he could heal, then how did he-"

"Die? Simple. Healing powers are just that, powers that boost your healing. If the person that possesses them is killed before he can heal then they are irrelevant. Carnage Kabuto was erased in a millisecond, he could not activate or regenerate even a single cell before every vital organ that he needed to survive was eradicated. You should know, the Hunter said to you that if he did not know your power's limits he could have killed you by accident."

Zombieman nodded, his mind racing. So that meant that even with his healing, he could have been killed by the Hunter in an instant if it did not have a strange adversion against killing humans? It was not his first time facing someone that could destroy his body with ease, but most such enemies were not so far above him that they could reduce him to a state where his healing could not keep up.

Yet this man, had defeated a being with his healing factor and vastly superior toughness with ease.

"Yes." Genus looked around the room wistfully. "Healing powers won't be of much help. They will prolong the battle yes, but it would be merely prolonging the inevitable."

"If that's the case, how are we supposed to fight him?"

"Zombieman, the answer is simple. If the healing factor cannot keep up it must be accelerated. Even at his maximum speed the Hunter cannot kill instantly, even if it is a tenth of a microsecond there will be a time when you are damaged but still alive."

"How is this relevant?"

"Zombieman, you asked me to remove your limiter. I know you meant for me to make you as strong as the Hunter. That is a nigh unreachable feat in a field I am completely unfamiliar with. Instead-"

He pulled a lever, and multiple vats and machinery descended from the roof.

"Would you be satisfied with infinite healing instead?"

Geno's POV

The cyborg studied his new improvements. Doctor Kuseno had boosted all his base statistics considerably, his strength was now on par with that beetle monster Sensei had destroyed at theHouse of Evolution, his firepower had been increased in both heat and destructive power by an order of magnitude, and despite his new body being likely to tear itself apart it was actually considerably more durable than his last few. Based off calculations he was certain that if he were to go through any of his past battles, even against the mosquito or the Deep Sea King he would take minimal damage at most.

He had pushed to be in the anti-Hunter team. Originally he was to be the one that held off the Association's cannon fodder, but he had convinced both Emperor and Sekingar that his firepower would be better served focused on a single target. Not to mention that it just might damage someone who had proven resistant to physical attacks. In the end they agreed and Flash was swapped out for him.

He clenched his fist. He was unsure exactly how much power the Hunter had amassed, even if it was a tiny fraction of Sensei's power it would be unstoppable. But regardless, he would attack. He was going to unleash everything he possibly had at the Hunter.

If he was going to die like his Sensei, he was going to die knowing he had taken the Hunter with him.

Tareo's POV

The walls shook, cracks appearing everywhere.

The boy hugged his knees to his chest, pushing himself even tighter into his little hole. Since the uncle had told him to hide here, the entire place had been shaking non stop.

Boom!

"Aaaahhh!" The boy yelped and scrambled away as the wall exploded and a figure landed near him, the machine that sheltered him crumbling. The dust was blasted away, and the uncle looked over at him.

"Brace yourself!" He grabbed a massive rock and slammed it in front of him, bracing it with his arms. A flash of light, and the boy was sent flying.

"Uh!" He grunted, landing on his butt, tumbling around before stopping.

At the other side of the room, the uncle was lying in the center of a crater, burns covering his entire body.

"Uncle?"

"My my." A giant bird monster, bigger than the one he had been kidnapped by, floated up. "Looks like little Garou wasn't so tough after all."
