Chapter 25
Spike hasn't seen much of his wife lately. They had her do some light work during the day. Her brother transitioned into the police department. They were keeping an eye on things for now. She knew training her brother took most of her time. Leah worked on getting Angel's business in order making sure it was no longer under investigation. She stopped in the Wolfrum and Hart going into Angel's office.
"Got you off the record," Leah handed Angel the paper.
"I appreciate the help," Angel said nicely.
Spike came in the room seeing his wife standing there talking to Angel. He pulled her close hugging her. "I've been missing you," Spike held her.
"I know, I'm just about done training doofus," she held him.
He looked back at her pushing the hair back from her face. "How's the apartment holding up? They make me sleep in a box training him. I'll be home tonight finally. They are letting me off early."
"Finally, you get to be home," he held her.
"Better than a damn box they put me in for training." She kissed him briefly.
Leah hung around most of the day seeing she had nothing better to do. Training this past week is finally done along with everything else. Leah took the night to patrol around the graveyard. Spike stayed with her while they stood there waiting around. "Any reason why Buffy doesn't want to help out on this?" Leah asked him.
"I don't know, I haven't really bother to ask pet." Spike took a puff of his cigarette.
Spike sensed another vampire coming their direction. "Hello Spike," he heard a familiar voice.
"Dru," he looked over seeing her walk towards him.
Leah looked at both of them standing off to the side. "What do you want?" Spike said not surprised to see her.
"Meet my new man." She turned her head looking back and Drake appeared next to her. He stared at Leah like a male wanting to claim his mate.
"Took you that long to heal?" Leah eyed him.
Like any vampire Drake could easily read her. He could smell Spike's scent all over her. He could forgive her for doing what she did. "You will stay away from her," Spike's face turned ready to fight him.
"I've damaged you before, I can do it again." Drake went behind Leah pushing her out of the way going after Spike.
As the fought, Drake noticed how much stronger he was. Spike punched and kicked him literally almost taking him down. Drake fought back getting hits against Spike. It was amazing to Leah to see two vampires fighting each other. Dru went behind Leah with a knife almost stabbing her. She turned kicking the knife out of her hand. Dru went to throw a punch at her and Leah grabbed her arm with the long chain twisting her arm behind her back going around her taking the chain getting it around her neck.
"Stop or I kill your girlfriend," Leah called out.
Both vampires looked her direction seeing her behind Dru holding the chain to her neck nearly choking her with her arm behind her back.
"Let her go," Drake looked her direction. Leah loosened the chain from her neck letting her free shoving her towards him. Leah helped Spike up seeing he really wasn't bruised or badly hurt. They quickly left them alone while Spike made sure he was gone.
"He's using her," Spike looked at Leah.
"I figured as much, let's get home." They left going home for now. Spike took her hand walking with her to the building. Leah unlocked the door letting Spike in shutting the door.
"Seeing Dru didn't bother you?" Leah wondered.
"No, I did love her but that's in the past. Don't worry love I've got you now." He kissed her cheek.
Leah leaned in kissing his lips holding him. "I missed you," she said pulling back to look at him.
"It was quite lonely this past week," Spike rubbed his hand along her cheek.
"I promise never again," Leah held him.
"Alright then," he kissed her.
"None of the men were as cute as you." Leah said sucking up a little.
"I highly doubt that." Spike laughed a little.
"The honeymoon is over," Derek said coming in the door.
"Shut up," Leah looked at him and Derek just rolled his eyes.
"We saw Drake, apparently he is with Dru now," Spike looked at Derek.
"More like send the crazy chick with that guy," Leah shrugged.
"You tell Angel yet?" Derek asked him.
Spike sighed a moment. "No, we will in the morning.
"How about now?" Angel said walking in a little after Derek.
"Bloody hell." Spike rolled his eyes.
"I even about choked Dru to death but Drake told me told me to let her go. That was a whole show, he's just using her." Leah walked up to him.
"She might be a reason to get Spike out of the way," Angel said guessing.
Spike heard that standing next to Leah. "I'm not going anywhere."
"Is it just me or are you vampires territorial?" Derek asked.
"Even thought we are human, we are protective of the ones we love." Spike answered him.
"How about protective against annoying brothers?" Derek heard that shoving her a little. Leah just shoved him back.
Spike wanted nothing more than to kick everyone out so he could spend time with his wife. Luckily things went in his favor, Derek and Angel had left to head out to the bar.
He got close to her leaning in kissing her deeply. Things started to get more intense as they stripped to nothing heading to the bedroom. Both were completely lost in each other while he rode her deeply. Spike missed their intimate moments along with sleeping next to her. Leah could tell by the things he did to her felt like he missed her. Both of them found their release some how managing to keep going.
He felt her release many times loving the feeling of her wetness. Their love making was so loving and intense. His lips were on her kissing her while he continued to ride her. She could hear his heavy breathing with along with his moans underneath him.
Spike sped up wanting to find his release causing her to moan giving her every bit of pleasure along with it finding his release hearing his moans. He could feel the wetness underneath them seeing how they got the sheets as well. Leah turned on the shower and he followed.
They got in to wash off but Spike knew he wanted more. They both had a high sex drive wanting more of each other.
Leah woke up to a weird dream sitting up. Her movement caused Spike to wake up seeing her sitting up. "Sorry bad dream," she said sitting there.
Spike sat up holding her "Want to talk about it?"
"I can't remember it too well that's the problem." She laid back down as he kept his arm around her drifting back to sleep.
The next day Angel along with Spike, Derek, and Andrew discussed about what to do with this vampire and now Drusilla.
"I wonder why Dru is involved," Spike wondered.
"She is your ex," Derek looked at him.
"Don't remind me." Spike could care less anymore if she was or not,
"There's some sort of motive why she's there." Angel replied.
"Guys, come on let's be rational here. He's only using Dru to get Spike out of my way to get to me. Maybe he's trying to create some sort of distraction. He's got Dru convinced that he has feelings for her," Leah explained.
"Which means?" Angel asked her.
Leah paced a moment before answering. "Meaning, as I read about the history, there was a woman he fell in love with that looked like me. So he believes she was reborn into another time. If I'm right, it looks like I'm related to her in some way."
"I don't know much about this guy. He is way before our time," Angel replied.
"Here, you can read up about him," Derek handed him the book about him.
"History says he's a real asshole," Leah shrugged. Spike snickered at that a little pulling her on his lap.
"We got to find Dru," Angel suggested.
"Wait til tonight," Leah looked at them. She got off Spike's lap standing up ready to leave the room.
Angel had everyone else leave his office besides Leah and Spike. "Did you ever find out of I can make this soul permanent?" He asked her.
"Well the last I heard after so many good deeds you could become human again. Maybe after so many good deeds, it could be permanent and you just don't know it. I think you have dealt with enough grief long ennough to give you a break. In this case, it's really hard to tell," Leah explained.
"Unless he can find a woman he could shag he'll know," Spike looked at her.
"Right, maybe not the best idea. Only time will tell Angel and we've tried researching several different things." Leah said feeling sorry for him.
"Thanks, I appreciate it." He looked her direction.
"Angel," Someone called him out of his office. He left them alone talking with the person who got his attention.
"You always seem to amaze me with your knowledge," Spike came up to her.
"I try." She shrugged not sure what to say.
"You don't have to try pet. It's just who you are." He wrapped an arm around her looking into her eyes. Leah leaned in kissing him briefly on the lips.
"It's almost hard for me to believe you did what you did back then."
"It took me a long time to get to this point. I wasn't always like this but I've learned to face my mistakes and move on." Her hand brushed along his face and he took in his holding it. She seemed to be the one thing that made him happy after all he had been through.
"I should keep you in check." Leah teased.
He smiled at her kissing her cheek. Their moment got interupted with commotion outside the office. They both walked out seeing two men and her brother arguing. "Hey knock it off with the political debate please," Leah stepped out front.
One of the men noticed Spike to be a vampire. Some were starting to slowly be aware that they did exist. Leah noticed one of them reached in his pocket pulling out a gun. He started to point the gun at Spike and she shoved him out of the way as he pulled the trigger. Angel quickly came out of a room hearing what happened seeing Leah on the floor with Spike. She pulled out her gun pointing it at the guy getting up. Spike stood up next to her watching them carefully.
"Derek call the police," She looked at him. He quickly went in the room as she continued to keep the gun pointed at him.
Within a few minutes, the police arrived. Leah started feeling faint as Angel noticed the blood dripping from her side. She literally felt weak falling to the ground with Spike catching her. "Call an ambulance," Spike yelled out.
"Stay with me." Spike said upset.
She couldn't speak looking at him feeling the blood in her throat building. Instead she died in his arms lifeless with the ambulance not arriving quick enough to save her. "No," Spike yelled crying.
All he could feel was sadness, anger, and that the best thing he had was taken from him. He held her body crying for a long period until they took it away. Spike felt alone like he was before only to feel worse than before.
They had a quiet funeral in the evening for her burying her in the same graveyard they would patrol at. Her brother cried silently to his self listening to the pastor along with Angel, Spike, and Andrew. Every night, for the past week Spike would sit at her grave smoking and mourning her death wanting to blame himself. Angel would come and check on him trying to do the best he could to comfort him seeing he took it the hardest.
"Spike." Angel walked over to him.
He looked over at him not saying a word. "I should have died instead of her," he said upset.
"She saved you instead." Angel looked at him.
Spike didn't answer sitting there feeling nothing but emptiness. Her funeral was only a week ago, to him it felt longer.
"I miss her too," Angel stood next to him.
After a while, Spike got up leaving with Angel going back to the apartment. Kids were near by playing with some sort of spell book. One of them read the words out loud chanting. Something started to happen scaring the kids causing them to run away scared.
Whatever they did made some sort of red mist that went in Leah's grave going six feet under. Her newly buried body suddenly came back to life. Her eyes opened noticing she was in a coffin breaking herself out coming out from the ground.
It was dark outside while she walked around. Riley was out running seeing Leah standing there. "Leah you ok?" He asked her.
Riley was unaware of her dying but he knew something had happened to her. "Who are you?" She asked him.
He was able to figure out that she must had lost her memory. "Riley." He said his name.
"Come with me," he lead her to his place.
