Here we are Chapter 22, and the final chapter before the merge. Like with Basic Straining there are a lot of plots going on here and the tension builds until an elimination comes that no one expects. So without further ado, let's begin

Chapter 22: X-Treme Torture

Dock of Shame (Cody P.O.V)

I woke up luckily early in the morning and did my morning routine and saw Bridgette looking out at the doc sitting down and looking at the sea. I decided to approach her to make sure she was okay and sat down next to her.

"Hey Bridge, ready for the challenge today?" I asked her which finally got her attention.

"Yeah" Bridgette sighed and I could tell something was wrong.

"Is something wrong?" I asked her.

"It's just I haven't seen Geoff at all yesterday or this morning and I am starting to get worried. I know he's still here but I am shocked it seems like he's avoiding me." Bridgette told me.

"Well, today's a challenge day so maybe you'll get some time to hang out with him." I told her trying to reassure her.

"Well you're right Cody. Thank you so much for being such a supportive friend. I actually think I may be in love with Geoff" Bridgette told me, and to say I was crushed on the inside would be an understatement but I had to keep my cool and still be supportive of Bridgette, I wanted to be with her but I needed to be a good friend to her.

"But" Bridgette continued on, "I am not sure if Geoff loves me since he hadn't talked to me yesterday. Hopefully if I can, I'll hang out with him and tell him that I love him".

"Whatever you want to do Bridgette, you know I have my support. Judging by the way Geoff looks at you I imagine he loves you too." I told her, despite every damn bone in my body just wanting to tell her how I truly feel but I knew I just wanted her to be happy and she was happy with Geoff.

Bridgette walked away shortly after and I just sat on the dock, and thought of how crazy this whole thing had been, half the contestants had been eliminated and I made it almost to the merge. What was most shocking was how much changed, between me having a second chance, Leshawna and Bridgette being on different teams and Katie always being on the Bass from the jump changed so many things, a lot of things I never saw coming. People who made the merge the first time were long gone in Owen, Trent, and Leshawna. I had really missed Owen and Trent especially. As great as it was to have the boys cabin be just Noah and I it felt so empty with just the two of us there and lately Noah has gotten a bit irritating with his jealousy of Duncan.

Then my mind went to Bridgette. The beautiful blonde surfer girl this time with this second chance I was given had taken my heart and made me feel a love I had never felt once before in my life. Even if she didn't want to date me I knew that in this timeline she'd play an important role in my life from here on out.

As I sat there, I saw Chris enter his helicopter to scare everyone in the cabins so I just continued to stare out at sea, in amazement with what happened so far and I am hopeful things will get better from here on out.

Beginning Of The Challenge

Chris had gotten out of the helicopter after scaring everyone sans myself and no one looked happy. Heather in particular was in a mood.

"What the hell was that for?" Heather yelled out.

Chris however ignored Heather. "Just flexing your muscles for today's Extreme sports challenge!" Chris told us through the megaphone.

Gwen didn't look amused "Ugh… It's too early for this."

Duncan joked to Gwen "Relax pasty" and I once again saw Noah glare at the guy. I knew that sooner than later I would have to deal with this situation before it got out of hand.

Chris continued on with explaining the challenge "This week, you'll participate in three challenges. First up, Extreme sofa bed skydiving! Contestants will plummet, uh… Skydive to a waiting sofa bed target below." that was when we saw Chef jump down from a plane onto the sofa before getting trapped in it.

Chris then showed us the backpacks with parachutes "Of course, you'll be skydiving from five thousand feet. And using these."

Noah then raised his hand "Are those things even safe?" he asked.

"Of course they are, speaking of which book brain, you and Duncan are taking the jump for your teams." Chris smirked at Noah.

"Great!" Noah sarcastically said before turning to me. "Hey Cody, plan my funeral, and make sure to have me face down in the casket so everyone in my life can kiss my ass" Noah told me which admittedly got me to chuckle.

Chris wasn't amused, "The second challenge of the day is… Extreme rodeo moose riding! Contestants will rodeo ride the great Canadian bucking moose for eight seconds or get hooved into a giant pile of socks from the lost-and-found." Chris told us before telling us who was competing "Cody and Geoff you guys will be competing in this round."

I decided to nudge over to Noah "Can we make it a double funeral? Because I am probably winding up dead today too." I told Noah who laughed at my comment.

"Okay but I get the better coffin."

"Deal" I told him and that was when Chris interrupted us.

"Okay if there are no more interruptions I will continue. The final challenge… Extreme water skiing!" Chris told us as we glanced over to the mud pile before Chris continued, "Contestants will waterski a race course grabbing as many flags as they can before crossing the finish line. While a member from the opposing team tries to deceive you."

Heather decided to ask Chris mainly out of concern, "How can we water ski without water?"

Chris laughed at the comment" It's really hard. Check it out." Sure enough we saw Chef wipe out in the mud before Chris continued laughing "Awesome! Harold, you'll ski for Killer Bass while Sadie drives."

Harold just gave a deadpan "Yay," while Sadie looked excited and had a grin on her face.

Chris then announced us for the Gophers and it was different than what I expected, "Bridgette you will be going for the Gophers for the ski and for drivers it will be Heather"

Bridgette actually looked excited when she was announced, "Cool! I can model my backup bikini"

That was when I asked Bridgette "Backup bikini?"

Bridgtette looked at me and giggled "Yeah, my old bikini is dirty since we went swimming yesterday so I always keep a spare just in case." Bridgette told me, I looked over to see Geoff's reaction and he looked down almost like he was sad.

Chris then told us "Now for the cool swag! Whoever scores the most challenges gets bragging rights for the night, saves their butts from elimination and wins a tricked out Multi Massage Mobile Shower." Chris showed us the mobile shower which was fine. I didn't actually mind the showers here, they weren't great but they were much better than the shower at my crummy apartment. Chris finished up the rest of the challenge and added a twist I didn't see coming "Okay, gang. A couple more things to note, this is the last vote off before the merge. Also the 3 people who are not competing in today's challenge, Gwen, Lindsay, and Tyler, you guys are immune tonight" Gwen then raised her hand "Even if you lose the challenge!" Gwen's hand instantly went down as she smiled as Chris concluded. "Chow for breaky, then report back in twenty minutes for. The extreme sports challenge." Chris went back in his plane as we all headed to the Mess Hall.

Mess Hall (Not from Cody P.O.V)

In the Mess Hall, breakfast or what could be qualified as breakfast was being served. When Gwen and Lindsay got their breakfast each girl noticed a letter on a table.

"What's this?" Gwen questioned as she opened the letter "To the girl who I love with all my heart." Gwen began reading out loud until she got to the end and realized it was a breakup letter, "Dang!"

"What is it Gwen?" Lindsay asked, looking confused.

"Some dude here is breaking up with his girl here by writing a letter" Gwen explained to Lindsay.

"Oh I really hope it isn't Tyler, I'd be absolutely crushed if he were to break up with me." Lindsay cried out. "I mean judging by the writing I imagine it would be your boyfriend Noam" Lindsay said unknowingly irking Gwen.

"Really Lindsay, what makes you think Noah would break up with me by writing a letter?" Gwen asked, clearly irritated.

"Well my boyfriend is a lot classier to break up with his girl with a letter. Unlike your boyfriend who acts all preppy and above everyone else." Lindsay scowled at Gwen which got Gwen further irate.

"At least my boyfriend has enough of a brain and class to not break up with me with a stupid letter. Besides, my relationship is a lot healthier than yours given how emotional your boyfriend is." Gwen snapped back,

"Well Tyler doesn't glare at other guys when they talk to me. My boyfriend is at least secure about our relationship" Lindsay said and at that point the breakup letter had been ripped in half by both girls.

"Tell you what Lindsiot, I am willing to bet you 2 days of dessert that Tyler is breaking up with you." Gwen angrily offered Lindsay.

"OH you're on! Noah is so breaking up with you." Lindsay sniped back as both girls walked away angrily.

Start Of The Challenge (Still not from Cody P.O.V)

Chris explained part of the challenge to them "Now, remember! Ground teams can wheelie the sofa beds wherever they want in order to help their comrade with the landing."

Lindsay smirked to Noah, "Noah. I hope your attempts to breakup with Greta are worth the landing."

Noah looked confused until Gwen spoke up, "Noah will do just fine in the challenge and doesn't need your attempts at flattery Lindsay" Noah then just silently headed to the plane hoping tension would go down between the team.

Back to Cody P.O.V

It was odd watching Gwen and Lindsay just glare at each other and Lindsay trying to say that Noah was breaking up with her was odd. Luckily since there was no Owen that meant we were able to push the couch to around where we thought Noah would land. That was when Heather and Lindsay decided to make a Noah outline out of the ground

"What are you doing?" Bridgette and I asked.

"Just a backup in case Noah misses the couch." Heather told us which got Lindsay to smirk and Gwen and I to glare at the two of them.

"Okay I will say even if it is cruel. Shockingly good job on the outline" I told Heather and Lindsay who looked shocked I complimented them. Meanwhile, as for Bridgette, one look at her and I could tell she had other things on her mind but I decided to leave them alone.

Top Of The Plane

In the airplane was an extremely nervous Noah, and an indifferent Duncan. However neither guy wanted to say a word to each other.

Chris then popped out of nowhere "If you could just fill these out…!"

Duncan looked annoyed. "But we already signed insurance forms at the beginning of the show!"

Chris explained to them the new contract. "Yeah! But these are for organ donation! I have this cool cannibal challenge I wanna pitch to the producers, and this'll go a long way toward budgeting free props! Here comes the drop, boys!" Chris then went out of sight before Duncan could grab his neck.

Noah looked out confused, "I don't see the drop zone!"

Duncan instantly snorted back "Looks like book nerd needs his glasses. Tell pasty I said hi." However Duncan, unaware of Noah's jealousy towards him, had unknowingly provoked Noah by the mere mention of his girlfriend.

Meanwhile

Killer Bass Couch

The four people pushing the couch were keeping quiet until Geoff whispered over to Tyler "Are you sure this is the right thing to do? I mean I've never broken up with a girl like this before. How did it even work out for you?" Geoff asked Tyler.

"Oh dude it went great. My ex girlfriend took it well. I mean she moved away a few months after we broke up but she was smiling and told me I was a huge mistake of a boyfriend as she moved away." Tyler told Geoff unaware of what he was saying was beginning to make Geoff reconsider his methods.

Sadie looked annoyed hearing the two talk, "Like what are you two even talking about? We have a challenge to win. Besides Tyler the rest of us are all up for elimination!"

Tyler and Geoff said in unison to avoid detection of their plan "Sports"

Sadie rolled her eyes "Whatever, Duncan should be falling in the sky any moment and we need to win this challenge."

Harold meanwhile decided to stay quiet. With Leshawna out of the game, and the merge so close, Harold decided for today's challenge to just be a team player and stay quiet the whole time. Hoping something would blow up and allow him to skate by just one more round. He knew of a plan that might have saved him, but all he had was hope to survive one more round.

In The Plane and End of Challenge #1

Noah yelled at Duncan, shocking the delinquent, "I'll tell 'pasty' hi just as soon as you stop looking at her like you're attracted to her." Noah snarked.

Duncan however laughed in Noah's face as he thought Noah was joking. "Hahaha, Noah you should be a comedian. I am not attracted to Gwen in any way. Don't you remember I am dating Courtney?! Or are all the books in your brain making you more stupid?"

"Sure you're dating Courtney, but it's so fake from the way you act." Noah rolled his eyes before unknowingly provoking Duncan with the next statement he said, "I've seen your type before. Just using a girl, faking your attraction to her, until you discard her like yesterday's trash which is how you probably look at every girl in your-" Noah began saying until Duncan pushed both of them out of the plane.

"You are fucking dead Noah!" Duncan yelled out trying to grab Noah's hair in the air as both guys began fighting in the air not realizing they'd forgot to grab their parachutes. To the shock of everyone from the ground they watched the two guys beating the snot out of each other, or moreso Duncan beating the shit out of Noah but Noah was able to land a few hits in himself..

Duncan then pushed Noah off of him for good at full force, "Enjoy the ground asshole!" Duncan yelled out.

Back to Cody P.O.V

We thought we had the sofa in a comfortable position for Noah to land on. Unfortunately we saw at the last second Duncan push Noah as hard as he could and Noah fell straight to the ground while Duncan managed to land on his Team's sofa. I will admit it was nice to see the sofa retract and everyone on Duncan's team just silently walk away as he was trapped in the sofa. However my good instinct just kicked in and I went over to get Duncan out of the sofa while the medics got Noah out of the ground.

Luckily it only took a few seconds to get Duncan out of the sofa. However Duncan was still pissed off even after I got him out.

"Where's Noah?" Duncan asked me. "I'm not done with that asshole yet!"

"Five feet in the ground, see?" I pointed over to Noah as it seemed like Gwen and Bridgette were helping him to the medics.

"Serves that asshole right," Duncan told me.

"What did he even do?" I asked Duncan. "Duncan dude just calm down" I told Duncan trying to get him not to further beat the shit out of Noah. Luckily Duncan calmed down enough to where he did not want to attack Noah right this second.

"He told me that I should stop hanging out with Gwen and that I am using Courtney and going to discard her like trash. He is such a pretentious prick" Duncan told me and I realized that at this point Noah's jealousy of Duncan could seriously get him hurt like it did today, so I decided to try and calm Duncan down to get him off Noah's back for the time being.

"Look once Noah gets re-boned, and making sense I'll slap some sense into him and tell him to lay off. If he still insists on being an asshole to you then have at it with Noah." I told Duncan and honestly I wasn't lying completely as Noah acting like this has been pissing me off lately. Yes Noah is my best friend but he was acting so insecure.

"Thanks Cody. Good luck with the moose." Duncan told me.

"Don't remind me." I said walking up to the rest of the team who saw that Noah was in a stretcher.

Heather didn't look impressed. "Nice going, Noah, you cost us the first point!".

Gwen had gone over to console her boyfriend, "Noah, is there anything you wanna ask me before they take you to get, uh, re-boned?"

Noah could barely speak as he said "Yeah. Duncan can go fuck himself!" I instantly did a facepalm as I saw Gwen smirk at Lindsay but I wasn't really focused on that, if my team lost Noah was automatically out since he broke so many bones in his body. I knew I had to win the Moose challenge but my gosh that was going to be difficult just for the sheer fact that well the moose looked like something that would kill me. Not to mention it is easily provoked.

Second Round of The Challenge

Geoff, Bridgette and I were standing there waiting for the next part of the challenge when I saw that we were the only three there.

"Wait where is everyone?" I asked.

Bridgette then told me, "Gwen and Lindsay decided to talk about something, Heather is checking out the mud course, and Noah's in the hospital. Which just leaves us"

Chris then told the 3 of us "Okay, let's start… the rodeo moose challenge! Geoff you're up first."

Geoff got on the moose, "Rodeo riding is kinda like surfing. Once you catch the wave, you just flow with the mojo. Haha."

Bridgette looked awestruck by what Geoff was saying "Yeah! "Flow" Good luck Geoff!" Bridgette told him with me standing right there as Geoff began to take off on the moose.

"Wait Bridgette what about me? If I lose this round we lose the challenge and Noah is out." I told her and soon neither of us were paying attention to Geoff as he began riding the moose out of control.

"Well sorry that I want my boyfriend to be safe." Bridgette told me annoyingly, as I rolled my eyes at her which got her even more mad.

"Did you just roll your eyes at me?" Bridgette asked, clearly frustrated.

"Yeah I did. Look Bridgette I know you aren't close to Noah but I am, he's my best friend here. How would you feel if Gwen or I were on the chopping block? Hell, Gwen was on the chopping block when Izzy left." I told her.

"No Cody I get that, it's just." Bridgette told me.

"Look even if Geoff loses he'll be fine I promise, that would mean Sadie or Harold would also have to fuck up and I imagine they would go well before him. I wanna win this challenge and just ensure that you and I make the merge tonight Bridgette. Besides Noah you are my best friend here and I just want to keep all of my friends safe tonight. This game has been so crazy and I know in my gut Geoff will be safe too." I told Bridgette and that was when Chris walked upon us.

"Well looks like we will see if you can keep your team alive and score a point Cody because you're up" Chris told us.

"Wait what happened to Geoff?" Bridgette asked.

"He's in the washroom trying to get rid of the stink and pain he just experienced" Chris explained to us, however I could have sworn he smirked at Bridgette with the pain comment, but my eyes still might be deceiving me.

"Good luck Cody! You got this!" Bridgette cheered for me.

"Nice moose, please don't kill me." I was scared as I got on top of the moose who looked perpetually pissed off.

Chef however looked scared himself "Holy fuck that things got fire in it's ey-" Chef didn't finish as the moose began charging through the camp as I desperately held on, luckily for me building a tiny amount of muscle in my arms helped me stay on tight for dear life. I had managed to stay on for a whole 3 minutes til the moose threw me off into the water, although it didn't hurt that much, much to my own shock.

Picnic Table

Lindsay was annoyed at Gwen as she realized Noah didn't write the breakup letter and realized there was a chance Tyler did.

Gwen decided to taunt Lindsay, "Hey Lindsay are you ready to breakup with Tyler or should I not be around when he breaks your heart"

"Bitch!" Lindsay muttered under her breath.

"What'd you say?" Gwen asked annoyed. Before Lindsay could repeat what she said, Tyler had luckily come over to try and break the tension.

"Hey babe, hey Gwen what's up?" Tyler asked, unaware of the tension between the two women. "Aren't you guys excited we made it to the merge."

"Peachy," Gwen said, trying to contain her rage at what Lindsay called her.

"Gwen and I were just wondering who wrote a breakup letter we saw this morning. Gwen here thinks that you're breaking up with me. I thought it was Noah but given the fact that he just thought with Doug, I am starting to think you're breaking up with me." Lindsay told Tyler who looked very worried and guilty since it was his idea to have Geoff breakup with Bridgette

"Heh heh about that Lindsay it wasn't meant for you but I played a part in the letter"

"So you do want to break up with me!" Lindsay yelled at Tyler.

"What? No. Okay if you guys would-" Tyler began to say before Gwen interrupted him.

"So Noah is breaking up with me? I swear if he wasn't half broken I would break him myself" Gwen shouted out.

Tyler couldn't take keeping a secret and then shouted out "ENOUGH! Noah isn't breaking up with you, and Lindsay I love you. Geoff is breaking up with Bridgette!"
"What?" Gwen asked in shock.

"George wants to break up with Brianna? That's terrible" Lindsay cried out.

"Wait, why does Geoff want to break up with Bridgette?" Gwen asked.

"Okay I will tell you two, why Geoff wants to break up with Bridgette but we can't tell anyone. Okay?" Tyler asked. Both Gwen and Lindsay nodded.

"Geoff is convinced Bridgette loves someone else here and wants to break up with her as he doesn't want to date a girl who doesn't feel the same way. No dude ever wants that." Tyler told both Gwen and Lindsay,

"Well I think I have an idea who Bridgette really likes," Gwen said. This got a confused look from Tyler and Lindsay. "It's Cody, you idiots".

Lindsay didn't look convinced, "Brianna likes Cody? There is no way. She likes George" Lindsay told the two.

"Well we did tear the letter up so it's not like Geoff can tell Bridgette with the letter anymore" Gwen said however Tyler had a guilty look on his face.

"Now what Tyler?" Gwen asked, sounding clearly annoyed.

"Um we made a spare yesterday that Geoff is personally holding onto." Tyler said, looking guilty.

"Fuck! I'm assuming Geoff is gonna go through with it." Tyler nodded his head as he realized how much he may have fucked up and now the train was rolling out of control metaphorically to an unsuspecting Bridgette.

Lindsay looked sad and asked, "What do we even do?" she asked both of them.

"Well if Geoff isn't changing his mind. We could keep one of us on Geoff, so that way he doesn't breakup with Bridgette face to face." Gwen said. "We have to get that damn letter from him."

"I'll try and keep Geoff distracted. Unfortunately he smells like gym socks and makes me want to hurl" Tyler told both girls.

"I mean isn't that the smell you're used to Tyler" Gwen snarked at him.

"Haha very funny! Gwen if you don't mind I would like to talk to Lindsay 1 on 1"

"Sure whatever" as Gwen rolled her eyes. "Oh and Lindsay I know you're sorry for calling me a bitch. All is good."

Soon enough it was both Tyler and Lindsay alone at the table but right before Tyler spoke Lindsay took control of the conversation.

"Tyler what the hell?" Lindsay yelled out.

"Whoa! What's wrong babe?" Tyler asked.

"The fact that you think it's cool to break up with a girl with a letter isn't cool." Lindsay had her arms crossed and a very irritated look on her face.

"Lindsay, you know I care for you." Tyler told Lindsay but she looked unconvinced. "I just gave Geoff that advice because that was how I broke up with a previous girl."

Before the tension could be any more tense Chris announced on the loudspeaker.

"Time for the third part of the challenge. Everyone please report to the mud pool time to see who wins the last challenge! " Chris announced.

Confessional- Gwen

"This is bad. Very bad. Even if I think Bridgette likes Cody, which well she does. It's not cool to break up with a girl by writing a letter. I am just gonna stay out of this but man Tyler is so dumb."

Confessional- Tyler

Tyler looked down sad and upset, "I really fucked up"

Final Part of The Challenge (Back to Cody P.O.V)

I was with everyone now as luckily the moose didn't knock me out cold like I had feared. Bridgette and Harold were nowhere to be found. Then Bridgette came out in her backup bikini and my gosh she looked beautiful. She had a light blue bikini two piece. As Bridgette announced she was ready, Heather was convinced the team was gonna lose.

Bridgette walked up to me and asked me "What do you think Cody?"

"I think you look nice." I said as sincerely as possible without blushing.

Chris then told us, "First up is Harold riding and Heather driving the vehicle. Oh and as for rules, there aren't any so have fun!"

As Heather and Harold began the first part of the challenge, I decided to see how everyone was doing. Duncan was carving a skull in one of the nearby trees while Sadie was getting ready for her portion of the challenge by what looked like some self motivation talk. However Lindsay glared at Tyler while Tyler himself had the same look I saw on his face when he revealed Gwen and Duncan's kiss during Season 3 so safe to say he was keeping a secret.

I decided to see how the challenge was going as Chris announced over the loudspeaker "Five flags and headed home!"

Heather looked shocked and pretty much besides herself "That's impossible!" she yelled out.

Chris announced on the loudspeakers, "Heather has to cross the finish line or be disqualified! But when she does, Harold will take five flags to victory for the Killer Bass!"

Confessional- Heather

"I couldn't let that little dorkwad win. So I decided to cut him loose. Or at least, I would have."

Heather stood behind the vehicle with the knife and I instantly remembered what happened here as Heather shouted out "Game over, guppy!"

Harold wasn't paying attention. "Victory is… huh?" He said before looking at Heather confused.

That was when I shouted out loud as loud as I could "HEATHER DUCK!"

Heather looked confused but did as I said and luckily her top didn't come off and embarrass herself. Unfortunately she still crashed the vehicle, but luckily like last time Harold also wiped out like before.

Confessional- Heather

"But I decided to listen to Cody at the last second, and duck, which I am thankful for as otherwise my top would have been removed. I don't know why I listen to the dork brain idiot, but I just did without even thinking. He isn't that bad of a guy. But bleh at me ever dating him, he's not my type. Ever!"

Chris pulled up on his ATV and looked confused, "I don't know what Heather and Cody did to make Harold lose his concentration, but its a total wipeout for the Bass team!"

Harold however instead of gawking about boobs, just had his face in the mud in shame as he assumed he was getting voted out tonight. He just walked away in shame and headed to the communal shower to wash up.

Chris told Bridgette and Sadie to get ready in a few minutes. Geoff at this point had walked away I guess to go see how Harold was doing as he walked the same direction as him would be my guess.

"That was odd" Bridgette told me, "I wonder why Geoff went away, I guess the smell is getting to him. Ah well, wish me luck." Bridgette told me.

"You'll do great!" I told her.

Bridgette then got on the waterski, and Sadie got on the vehicle as both got ready. Sadie had a look of fire in her eyes while Bridgette looked determined to win.

Chris then announced "Ready, set, ride it like it's shopping week! Go!" Sadie was driving around trying to distract Bridgette but Bridgette was laser focused grabbing every flag she could.

Chris went onto announce "Flag one! Flag two, three, four…" while Sadie looked very angry and wanted to jump out of the vehicle herself to stop Bridgette..

Chris continued to announce over the loudspeaker "Bridgette has snagged all five and is racing home for the win! Sadie is screwed! She has to cross!"

See what happened next shocked me as Sadie had been acting different for a while now, compared to how I remember her. But what happened next made me start to realize that Heather may not be the villain this season and that it's actually Sadie. Sadie leaped out of the wave jumper, and tried to tackle Bridgette to stop her, luckily for Bridgette and not so lucky for Sadie, Sadie doesn't have good coordination so she undershot where Bridgette was and did a pure face plant.

Bridgette ended up free riding to the finish where I was waiting for her and gave her a big hug to congratulate her and shockingly she returned the hug.

"Congrats Bridgette we made the merge. Great job in the challenge, I am so proud of you" I told her and to say I was excited was an understatement, I was safe, Bridgette was safe, and Noah was safe. I was so relieved to have made it to the merge.

"Yeah it's great Cody, I wish Geoff was here to see me win. Where is he anyway?" Bridgette asked me.

"I think I saw him walking to the bathrooms to wash up given the dirty smell he had. I am sure he is gonna be excited you made the merge. LIke I said given how Harold and Sadie both messed up I think Geoff will be fine tonight. In fact I imagine today will be the best day of your life." I told her.

Meanwhile

Right Outside The Killer Bass Cabin (10 minutes after the challenge was over not Cody's P.O.V)

Tyler and Geoff were standing outside the cabin discussing the vote. Geoff had luckily managed to get rid of all the stink he had from the dirty gym pile of socks. However both guys were unsure to go through with a plan.

Tyler asked Geoff "Are you sure you want to go through with this?"

Geoff looked confident as he said "Yes. I want to go through with this, it's what's best for everyone here. No one will know what will hit them."

"Okay dude. Let's do this"

5 Minutes Before The Elimination (Back to Cody P.O.V)

Bridgette and I were just done with our showers as was everyone in the team, even Noah who had luckily fully healed by that point. Bridgette and I had just gotten our regular clothes on, when Chris announced on the loudspeaker.

"Attention, everyone to the bonfire tonight in 5 minutes! Gophers included as it's time to send the final member of the Bass out and it seems only fitting to have everyone there".

Heather looked less than pleased. "Seriously we won the challenge, why do we need to see who leaves?"

Bridgette piped up, "Well might as well see who we will be going to the merge with." Bridgette told us and as much as it annoyed Heather she had a point.

"You're right Bridgette, I just wanted to try the shower out one more time before it inevitably gets taken away" Heather told Bridgette which got everyone on the team even Gwen and Noah to laugh.

"Besides we all know who's leaving" I began to say "Harold which is no skin off anyone's back here. Let's enjoy the night" I said as we all walked off to the elimination ceremony.

Confessional- Bridgette

Bridgette looked at the camera with a huge smile, "Since we're making the merge, I think tonight after the elimination I will tell Geoff that I love him. It feels truly great to love again for the first time in long time."

Elimination Ceremony

Chris welcomed all of us as he began to speak, "Welcome everyone to the final campfire ceremony. Gophers you won the reward and also get to watch tonight's elimination ceremony unfold. Here on these very mediocre bleachers" Chris instructed us as we all sat down, Bridgette and I sitting next to each other, Lindsay and Heather sitting together, and Gwen sitting with Noah.

Chris then turned his attention to the Killer Bass. "There are 5 of you in front of me, soon to be 4 which will determine our last spots in the merge. Now an important note to make since Tyler didn't compete in the challenge he is automatically safe, and since Duncan was the only one to score he is also safe tonight" Chris told us which shocked all of us.

Chris continued, "So Harold, Geoff, and Sadie, one of you is leaving the game tonight. Let's get down to the vote."

Confessional- Duncan

"No hard feelings just finishing the job…."

Confessional- Sadie

"I am only doing this vote as a way to be even in the future."

Confessional- Harold

"I was told to do this and since I am short of allies this is my best bet to stay. I hope I am not being lied too."

Confessional- Geoff

"This vote will make everyone in this game happy, I know it"

Confessional- Tyler

"This is by far the hardest vote I have ever had to cast and I went back and forth but I vote for…."

Back To The Elimination Ceremony

Chris had gotten the marshmallow plate out and began the elimination ceremony "2 marshmallows are here since Duncan and Tyler already got their marshmallows. The one safe with zero votes tonight is Sadie. In order to increase the tension I need for the Bass that aren't in danger to head where the Gophers are sitting".

Sure enough Sadie, Duncan and Tyler came to sit by us, and then I swear again I saw the look of guilt in Tyler's face I saw when he revealed Duncan and Gwen's kiss or when he voted out DJ except even though he was immune he was sweating bullets and that was when I began to wonder why would he be so scared if Harold was leaving. There was something off about Tyler I just couldn't place but something felt very wrong. Bridgette looked unconvinced and happy as I looked over to her. Heather nor Noah didn't care while Gwen and Lindsay looked nervous and at this point my brain was hurting seeing everyone's faces. Chris then continued the elimination ceremony.

"Geoff and Harold this is the final Marshmallow, you have both fought long and hard and have made it far already. Unfortunately for one of you your dream comes to an end now. The final marshmallow goes to…" Chris said and the area was dead silent and it felt like time had stood still, Harold looked like he was about to have a panic attack and once again I took a look at Geoff and he had a look of acceptance, almost like he…. OH NO!

That was when it hit me like a ton of bricks, Geoff looked accepting of his fate like he was getting voted out and I instantly knew Bridgette would be crushed and there was nothing I could do about it. She was about to lose her boyfriend but what transpired next, no one not even Chris saw what was coming.

"…. Harold you are safe." Chris threw the marshmallow to Harold who started to breathe easy.

"WHAT?!" Bridgette and Duncan both yelled out at the same time.

"How could this have happened?" Duncan said out loud and that was when Tyler piped up.

"Well you see..."

Flashback (Previous Day, Narration)

Tyler had a look of brilliance on his face when Geoff proposed how to break up with his girlfriend Bridgette. "Breakup with her writing a letter to her."

Geoff looked confused, "A letter? Are you sure that feels kind of tacky?"

"It's fine she won't feel any heartbreak and understand. Bridgette seems like someone who would love that sentimental stuff and would be understanding."

"I mean doing that would let her down easy at least." Geoff said. "But, I am not gonna give her the letter, it's gonna be a fake out. I need to write this to get all my emotions out".

Tyler then told Geoff "Oh my gosh you are so smart! I mean if I were to breakup with a girl I'd do it with a letter even if it was Lindsay"

Geoff also told Tyler regretfully, "You have to vote me out. As well"

Tyler looked shell shocked "What are you talking about? I need someone in this game especially with this merge."

Geoff looked down on the ground sadly, "It's just when I break Bridgette's heart I don't want to face her face to face."

Tyler started to understand, "No I understand. It's just a lot to take in. Do you want me to tell anyone else?"

"Not a soul."

Back To The Elimination Ceremony (Cody P.O.V)

"That was why Geoff and Harold threw the challenge today to send Geoff home."

"Sorry Geoff, but you have been eliminated from Total Drama Island, any final words?" Chris asked.

"NO!" Bridgette yelled out and got off the bleachers to embrace Geoff. "This can't be happening, Geoff you can't be leaving. Please don't leave Geoff." Bridgette cried into his arms. That was when Geoff got a guilty look on his face as I could tell he realized he was being a coward for trying to run away from Bridgette.

"Bridge I am sorry, but it's for the best for everyone here that I leave" Geoff told her. "Also I think it's best if we break up. I know you don't want that but-"

"No, no" Bridgette cried into his arms even more, "Geoff I love you. You make me whole, I care for you so much. This can't be happening."

"Bridgette do you wanna talk about this in private? Yo Chris when is the Boat of Losers coming?" Geoff asked.

"Not for another half hour since Chef is still getting bandaged up from the moose but actually that brings me to the reason why the Gophers are here in the first place. Geoff isn't necessarily out of the game" Chris told everyone and everyone gasped in shock as something felt very wrong when Chris told us that.

Heather looked annoyed, "Great now what? The merge is still on right?"

Chris grinned evilly. "Oh the ten of you are still in the merge, but Geoff here along with 11 of the people you all had a hand in voting out directly or indirectly, will compete for a second chance at this game, one guy and one girl will get another crack at the money. Tomorrow they will compete in a will of mental endurance to get a second shot at the game. As for the ten of you we have our own little special surprise for each and every one of you. Now don't worry none of the 10 of you are leaving the game tomorrow, not yet." Chris laughed.

Geoff kind of broke up the tension "So do I still head to the boat or not?" he asked.

"Yeah Geoff you're still in the second chance, time for the Dock of Shame with you" Chris told Geoff.

"Geoff please don't leave. I love you" Bridgette was still hysterical and while I wanted to comfort her Noah gave me a motion not to move a muscle from my seat.

"Look Bridgette let's go talk by the dock." Geoff said as he began heading to the Bass cabin to pack his bags and Bridgette waited by the dock.

Dock of Shame (Not from Cody P.O.V)

Bridgette was still in near tears as she was walking with Geoff on the Dock of Shame She had calmed down but she was still in a very fragile state of emotions.

"Why, Geoff, why? Why do you want to break up with me?" Bridgette asked looking down at the ground trying her best to cry.

"Here, Bridgette let's just sit down." Bridgette and Geoff were now sitting on the dock looking out at the sky. This morning Bridgette looked out at the sky and wanted this to be where she declared her love for Geoff but now it is where he was breaking her heart.

"Once again Geoff. Why are you breaking up with me? Was it something I said, did I not look good in my new bikini, oh I know I shouldn't have worn that-" Bridgette began to say frantically at a breakneck pace but Geoff managed to get her to calm down by hugging her.

"Bridgette please just calm down, and let me explain to you why I am breaking up with you. If you would let me explain it to you." Geoff told her.

"Okay Geoff, please explain why." Bridgette said.

"Okay. Bridgette, look, you took my eye and my breath away from when I first saw you in this game, and I was hoping I'd end up on the same team as you and end up with you. When we didn't end up on the same team I was crushed but I still felt like there was a romantic spark there." Geoff began to say until Bridgette interrupted.

"I did too." Bridgette said. "I still do."

"Anyways around the canoe challenge I talked to Tyler and he encouraged me to go for it, and that was why I initially thought it was a great idea to date you up until nearly a week ago."

"A week ago what happened a week ago?" Bridgette asked, clearly confused.

"Bridge, who was the last person to leave your team?" Geoff asked back.

"Beth. Why do you ask?" Bridgette looked very confused and hurt at this point.

"Don't you remember the aftermath of that vote?"

"Right where Cody didn't trust me enough to vote out Beth. But Cody and I are getting back to our former rhythm as friends."

"Bridgette, you like him. More than just a friend. The way you look at him, I have seen it before." Geoff told her.

"No, no I don't, I love you Geoff." Bridgette told Geoff but one look in her face could tell she was trying to convince herself. "Besides, Cody approves of me dating you. He's happy for me that I am dating you. He is just a friend and he looks at me as such" Bridgette told Geoff as she was back to near crying as the Boat of Losers was soon approaching.

"Bridgette I know the signs, and he's the one for you. It's not me. If he isn't the one for you, just know that I will be waiting for you. But I know in my heart you like him more than a friend, you just won't admit it to yourself" Geoff said, putting his stuff on the boat. "Goodbye Bridgette, I hope someday soon you'll realize I'm right. Cody's the one for you, it's not me."

Bridgette just sat there sitting on the dock in tears watching Geoff slowly fade away out of the view, her mind was confused and felt broken. She wasn't sure what to think at that moment.

Screaming Gophers Boy Cabin (Back to Cody P.O.V)

Noah and I walked to the Gophers cabin, okay more so I walked and Noah he was still injured from the challenge at least somewhat. However both of us felt tense after that elimination and the news that two people were returning.

"Wow what an elimination" Noah said.

"Yeah, poor Bridgette." I said looking down and wanted to say more until Noah interrupted me.

"I know you wanna go out with her, but she is just having her heart broken as we speak, so take it easy there tiger and give her some time." Noah told me.

"I am well aware not to date a girl right away after they have their heart broken into a million little pieces. I just feel so bad for her." I said as I got into bed.

"I do too." Noah told me, sounding a tiny bit sarcastic, "Anyways what do you think of two people coming back?"

"Honestly Noah I am annoyed about it. Like yes it's great we made the merge. But we now have two more people to fight against in this game." I told him.

"True and who knows who will even return? As long as it's not Justin I am fine with whoever returns."

"Why Justin?" I asked

"He just rubbed me the wrong way. Actually now that I think about it I don't really want anyone back in the game, Ezekiel is sexist, Eva is just scary, Katie is annoying, Courtney is bossy, Izzy is crazy, Trent is well Trent, Beth cursed us and the rest I don't care for."

"Oh come on Noah, wouldn't you want Owen to return?" I asked Noah.

"Eh Owen's alright I suppose." Noah told me. "Anyways I am going to bed. See you in the morning"

As Noah went to sleep so did I. It felt weird that I had made it this far into the game as we both wondered who would return and who wouldn't. When I drifted off to sleep I felt a very foreboding feeling almost like the calm before the storm.

So yeah I decided to have Geoff eliminated right before the merge. With the ultimate end having Cody and Bridgette together, I needed Geoff out of the way sooner than later. But I still wanted to have him and Bridgette together, but unlike with other Fanfics where if two people get together and the one remaining in the canon TV show couple is around, that person is always portrayed in a negative light or mixed at best. I wanted to portray Geoff in a positive light and show that he cared a lot about Bridgette and wanted to start a relationship with her but was recognizing that Bridgette's affection secretly lied elsewhere.

As for why Geoff instead of any of the other Bass, Duncan plays an important role in the merge not to mention Noah's jealousy of him so he could not leave, Tyler and Harold both still have story left to be told in the merge and I have an interesting arc for Sadie coming up.

Now that is to not say Geoff doesn't return. I haven't quite decided which male and female will return. But for now this will be the last chapter for a bit as I want to expand some of the early chapters so don't expect a brand new chapter of this for a few weeks.
