Imladris - 25th of December 3018 TA
She was neither so unjust, nor so ungrateful, as to affirm a change in behavior was needed; but it left to her on such terms as destroyed half her value of a fighter. In her short years, she was tied up to live a life so distinctly and economically severe; to the lay on the fortune and improvement world of the Elves. When she gave her promise to Legolas, she meditated within herself to increase her own self to stand as an Elleth. An Elleth worthy, to be named his partner for life. She thought of it all day long, and for many days successively, and she did not repent. She was not really an ill-disposed young girl, unless to be rather cold hearted and selfish ways to be ill-disposed. Yet she was, well respected and loved by Legolas. The Ellon recognized her full worth, without asking her to change herself. Just to smooth her ways and to conduct herself with propriety in her ordinary duties.
Duties, that kept Awarthrie busy all day long. She never could imagine, how many tasks or duties an Elleth should already know. Her morning was filled with Camaeneth, who was supposed to teach her about the dressing code and body language of a Nobel Elleth. Truth be told, her way of standing, walking and moving was an awful combination of a dwarfs' moves. Most of the times she reminded of Gimli. Legolas was baffled, if she had even Elven blood inside her. He had met with Human ladies, that had more glory and nobility, than this 'Elleth'.
Around noon, she met with high noble Ellith and Ellyn, and was taught a variety of matters. She was taught, to write and speak correctly Nandorin. She had to learn the customs, the duties imposed by law on imported. To skill in the traditions of the Sindarin and Silva Elves. Their history, the politics and the different point of view. She was lacking in any way possible. Honestly, she was stressed so much she had even forgotten everything she had learned all these years. She seemed so uneducated and far from the dwarf she once was.
And if she ended up having some free time, she would be summoned by the rest of the dwarves. A month and the fellowship would depart, as well as Gróin as the rest of the dwarves. They have reached a point where, they actually thought that she had matured enough to claim what was hers. The princess under the mountain. They tried their best to help her, to slowly adjust around her new reality. Yet, they found her slowly falling further and further away.
A month, had passed and she had to keep herself busy. She only saw Legolas in the morning, while having breakfast with everyone else. All day she was busy. Legolas withdrew in their chamber around midnight, and she was already fast and deeply asleep. The Ellon was not in a different position. He had to deal with all the details of his departure. However, he found time to speak with her to advise her not to be afraid of who she was.
Legolas, was there. Calming her fears and assuring her to fight through. Legolas believed in her, and that gave her confidence. The Confidence that was slowly affecting her. She was not longer the foolish dwarf. She was rising to become something greater, to go back in her homeland and give her own fights. Because things were not better in Mirkwood. War was upon all Middle Earth, and Mirkwood faced two enemies.
And Awarthrie, would find herself into those battles. Without knowing it yet, she would work with the Mirkwood elves and became a very important ally. If she would ever see Legolas again, she did not know. But in those dark times no one knew what the next day would bring. If they would be alive.
Before the departure of Rivendell
Legolas took a deep breath, like one that drinks a great drought after a long thirst in barren places. He was waiting judgmental words, words that he actually deserved to be told. And why did her words sound so heavy and true, against the silent night? Did he really allow to throw himself so far away? Was he not most, of the night so close to her. Keeping her so close against his own body, kissing her in the softest ways possible. Did she not feel his earnest feelings? Did he really miss what happened that month to Awarthrie? Or did he really ignore her without noticing?
"Your words are followed! I see shapes of words and images of lines, and pale banners like shreds of cloud, and spears like winter-thickets on a misty night. Was I the cause of that? Am I not your 'tree-hugging-pixie, and the one who gave you my heart! You know I would share all minutes of my life, if you had just asked! What caused you to fall in such despair?!" Legolas questioned as he tormented himself with her words.
The she-dwarf complained that she did not see him enough. She was scared she would never see him again. She had just found him and she was about to lose him again. She gathered her legs closer to her chest and rested her head against her own knees. "A friend you were, a close friend I could ever wish for. I could share with you, my worries, my thoughts. Legolas, I could be my true self with you. Yet, this month. We have drawn far away. I was left to deal with courtesy, tact, discretion, diplomacy, and what ever an Elleth should know. I did not mind being taught and coached. But, I am not only that. I feel forgotten in this forsaken place, and the only light I had ignored me. You ignored me, Legolas! I believe that Ríneth, Sister of Haldir, saw you more times during this month than I?" She asked with a bitter and a sorrow tone in her voice. And a grief, darkness in her gaze.
If her words were blades, they would have pierced through Legolas heart. His busy schedule was the cause of missing the main point. Awarthrie, was cornered to deal with the royalty deeds, that he once went through as a young Ellon. And hated himself. He just waited for her to reach out for him. Legolas read through her lines, she felt lonely, losing herself and the jealously eat her up, like a monster. They dealt with the worst foes and nightmares. Only to allow the events of this month to bring them apart. He hissed at the idea to permit for such of outcome.
Legolas stepped as lightly as ever, his feet hardly seeming to press the wooden floor, leaving no sound prints as he passed; but on his way to reach her he found all the sustenance that he needed, and what only matter was her. He took a seat next to her, a light weight was noticed to lie against the bed. He wrapped his left arm around her and pulled her close to him.
Legolas pinned his gaze against her characterized by deep thought. His 'wicked dwarf' had reached the ultimate extent of herself. Something was not right. Indeed, he not being around should mess with her in as certain way. He pulled her close to him. His arms wrapped around her, as he lifted her to sit against his lap. He locked his arms, not allowing her to escape. He could explain her in details, what she meant to him. And he vowed his own life to do so. But not tonight. Tonight, he needed her.
The ellon tiled his head and leaned closer, pressing his warm lips against her. He found her lips, cold and chilled, with a berry sweetness. Awarthrie pressed her palms against his chest. Legolas let his lips press harder against her, until his lips nibbled against hers, and he finally kissed Awarthrie wild and deeply.
Moments passed, until Awarthrie close her eyes and lost herself in the kiss. The arms around her, felt finally familiar. The lips that were kissing her, were equally wanted to be kissed by her. Her heart beat faster, she even skipped a few beats as the first time as Legolas kissed her. She was allured by that feeling, and the Ellon was now once again as dazzling as ever. The kiss was broken minutes later by Legolas, since he had run out of air. He kissed her forehead, and hauled her towards him.
His eyes pinned against Awarthrie, while fearing for once in his life that he could lose her. And lose her forever. "Do not hide away from me, A'maelamin! What ever bothers you, we can speak and find peace." Legolas softly told her.
Awarthrie remained close to him. It had been a month, she did not feel him so close to her. She had lost their connection. Even if Legolas was holding her close each night. She was too tired and missed all the hugs and care he had offered. "Never, restrain yourself far from me. I do not wish to be afar nor jealous? Those ill feelings, are not who I am!" She rendered an understandable.
"Alas! My own heart felt heavy as wood, stone under the sun. Only to the thought, that we would part! I wish I had known your counsel before the burden of so weighty a judgement was thrust on you. Seek for me, and do not hold back!" Legolas ensured her as he softly drew himself away to be able to look into her dark eyes.
Awarthrie lifted her arm and slowly pushed back the hair stride to reveal his face. Her eyes widened at the brightness of his skin. She leaned closer and stole a daring kiss from him and then one more. Legolas kissed her back, smiling along the kisses. He softly lifted her up and turned her around, until her back was facing the mattress. Legolas climbed above her, slowly touching and kissing her. Everything that started so soft and gentle, became wild and solid. They pull apart and take shaky, shallow breaths. Unable to contain themselves anymore, Legolas held her head in his hands and pulled her into a fiery and passionate kiss.
Awarthrie cracked a smile, knowing full well that Legolas was about to seduce her. How could he with a touch and a soft word, has her linger. Even before he touched she felt his hands and her lungs expanded with briny air. His voice had the lilt she knew so well, his words soft with the smile that already played on his face. With the kiss came electric tingles, the desire to play. She wrapped her hands around him, expecting more than she had bargained. Today, she could play it wicked or played it evil. She was about to seduce him, as much as he was to seduce her.
With the kiss came the smooth touch of her body, poised, just the right blend of relaxation and tension. The tension, that rose slowly and wildly inside of them. The temptation was already there. It had always been written in their gaze, a chemistry, a seed of love, an invitation to learn about the other. Tonight was a chance for their bodies to communicate without the need for words. The Ellon kissed her neck, her resistance will crumble. After just a few delicate touches of his warm lips herself was drawn against him. Now there was only one desire, one wish, and they both knew it's just a matter of time before it happened.
"Alas, Awarthrie!" he said under his breath, "I cannot hold myself away any longer!" He admitted pausing his actions and gazing at her allowance. He should wait, and finish the bond with her at the right time. Yet, the time felt more than right. He wanted it to happen. Awarthrie revealed that it should happen. Why should they even wait any longer.
Legolas hands instantly tried to strip her over. Removing and flipping the robe out of the way. Her own hands found the way to undo his tunic. Almost ripping it apart, until she could see his skin. They both paused and laughed at their reactions. He buried his head into her neck and his hands rove all over her body. Their breathing deep and fast, as their skins finally met. Awarthrie was smitten, that he loved as deeply as her, was a thing lately forgotten. Yet, It was the thing they never had to speak. It is there in their laughter, in the soft way they touch, in the gaze that lingers when they parted. She was the one. She always was. As well as Legolas was for her.
She lay completely petrified under his command, her lips quivering while his hands corner both her sides. Her breathing hastened, the intense rhythm of her heartbeat underwent an irregular count, hammering quicker than the lightning bolt as his hand slithers toward her body, searching smoothly for the naked body. He could not wait any longer. Enough, with the seductive games and teasing. Legolas gave her one of his most alluring gazes, drawing her deeply inside his dark gray-blue suit. She lost track of place and time. The only thing that matter was him.
Like a drug and an addiction, both of their bodies connected. One touch and his intoxication were instant. Just his scent sent her into a heady trance, one that doesn't end until their bodies were still once more, just warm and snuggled in as close as two souls can be. And it was around that time Legolas' Fëar, slowly reached to find Awarthrie's. And what was thought not to have an existence, slowly became an entity. The Ellon's Fëar in the most marvelous and imposing way connect with the Elleth.
This time they were both in control; they both drove into madness and craziness, then stop, then they did it all over again until they begged to finish this. Even then, they did not want. They just would do every naughty thing to each other until their mind and body exploded. Their warm breaths and playful gaps, had filled the room. Even echoed out of their chambers and beyond.
They became one, one mind with one goal and purpose, each utterly drunk with love for the other. Their Fëar was finally bonded, connected in the most sweet and luring way. There was a trace acknowledgment of each other emotions. Like they did not need any words or lines to express their feelings. Awarthrie was ensured in the most magical way, how much she was loved and cared by Legolas. And Legolas finally could feel how much Awarthrie really loved him. Sometimes, no words could really describe their deepest emotions. And now at least at that moment, both knew how much they were cherished and loved.
The next morning would find the pair weary, sleeping and resting until noon. No one really dared to wake them up, as they were heard through the House East of the Sea. Even Lord Elrond himself went through the night of torture to have to listen through all the 'sounds' of the couple. He cursed under his breath many times. That he would make sure to ban them from his realm.
The dwarves were in a worse state, they have noticed that lately their young one has been close, too close to the Prince. However, ending bonded with the tree-hugging princess was an insult. Of course now one dared to ask her the next morning what had happened. Legolas spoke more with his actions, than his words. However, the next morning, before their departure he visited Gróin and admitted that he and the she-dwarf were now bonded.
Truth be told, war was coming, and normally the prince of Mirkwood would end up having such encounters with the young she-dwarf. She would have to talk to his King and father, and even her kin. However, there was a possibility that he would be killed or her. Gróin found understanding in the prince's word. This day they would part, and no one knew when they would see each other again.
However, what had changed was that Legolas was hers, and Awarthrie his. The rest they would figure after the ring was destroyed and if both were alive. Later the same morning outside the gate of Rivendell. The Fellowship gathered to bid farewell. Elrond gave them his blessings for a safe journey. Legolas and Aragorn bowed their heads, hands upon hearts. Arwen's face was sorrowful gazing at Aragorn. Aragorn smiled faintly, and nodded a farewell. Awarthrie, glanced towards at Legolas lightly waving a goodbye. Frodo looked a bit lost as he asked Gandalf which way to turn.
The Fellowship departed. Planning to climb the long steep path out of the cloven vale of Rivendell. Their journey started. Later Glóin his company and the rest of the Mirkwood elves started their journey back to Mirkwood.
