Now I've finished reading that novel of Bioshock and I must say, it was quite a unique way in handling the Origin Story of Rapture and how it all went downhill. Got to admit, I never thought of a few things that happen in that work, mostly with new characters and familiar faces. Hell, I appreciate the main focus of Bill McDonagh and his family, as he wanted to take them out of Rapture and back into the surface. Not to mention the little Easter legs sprinkled around that led to the city's demise. Certainly something that I didn't expect. Should I add any new characters into this story? Hmm… I don't know… It seems a little hard to remember any extra characters from the novel as I focus on the game part and not the story. Not to mention I have a guide that helps me on a few things. But, I'll do I best in keeping the lore of Bioshock accurate. If you wish to read this book for yourself, you can give it a look-see. That title is called 'Bioshock: Rapture'. You can find it in any bookstore or buy it online. You might be surprised at what the story contains.
Checking what happened with the previous chapter, not much to work with. Got only 84 hits and not a single review. Though I think with the other chapter, readers are more interested in LMs adventures helping Cohen in finding his traitors and exterminating them then a team trying to get out of Arcadia. Well, as luck would have it, they are going to see this chapter involving LM and his mission. This one is going to be a good one too. You'll be in for a treat.
So getting to the next chapter of BioTitans, LM has two more targets to take out and take photos. The fourth one is Silas Cobb, a former disciple of Cohen's with a short temper and a volatile state. How can LM face someone as dangerous as him. Let's read to see what he's planning to do.
Chapter Notes
More places in the Fort Frolic level that I needed to alter. That example would include Sir-Prize and the Rapture Records. While the places were nice, they were small and limited. I thought I expand and alter them to make them look like legit areas to make it a challenge. I also want to alter another thing. You remember that downstairs area where you journey down to collect a tonic, but is a pretty much empty room with partly flooded water and three spider splicers. Well I think it feels like it would need a bit more then that and I decided to set up bargain floor where items are cheaper down there for the lower class citizens of Rapture. I think it would be fitting, considering the malls always have shops for everyone. So thinking about that, I believe it's the perfect spot for an epic battle. As for Silas Cobb, well, like Hector Rodriguez he too is a grenade thrower. Not the type of credible threat you can face. So I was thinking that maybe he could have a twist in his stature. After all, if he needed to be a threat, he needs something that will pose as on. And that would involve a certain Plasmid that would fit him. You remember the Enraged Plasmid? It's a plasmid that when in contact, will drive someone insane and would attack anyone without a care in the world. Either way, it is going to be something that would lead to the final target. Stay tune for that.
Disclaimer: I don't own the Teen Titans or Bioshock
Chapter Twenty-Five: Silas Cobb
'Consider, when you are enraged at any one, what you would probably think if he should die during the dispute.'
Lucius Annaeus Seneca
In the Atrium of Fort Frolic, LM made his return to approach Cohen's masterpiece, while encountering a few stragglers along the way. Looking at the stage, he could see that two pictures he took were already placed and a third one is about to be placed. Taking the photo out of his pocket he looked to his latest victim, Hector Rodriguez. Like the other two, they have been former disciples of Cohen. And like them, was hunted down and exterminated by the rebel Titan and took the picture of their corpses. This one was no exception, as he got drilled by a Big Daddy and his guts were enthralled. Seeing this, he felt a little disgusted, but knew it was for the best.
LM: "Sheesh… Every time I take these pictures, they keep on getting more disturbed then others. Oh well… At least this would entertain this lunatic and keep me alive. Let's just post this up and get to the next target."
Heading up the steps, he took the vacant portrait at the corner opposite of Fitzpatrick and placed the picture on the surface. When he was done, he backed away and observed the work. At the same time, the lights changed color and Cohen's voice was echoing through the speakers.
Sander Cohen: "That's three of five. I must admit, I never thought you were into this type of creativity. But the way Rodriguez perished by a Big Daddy… Well… At least he had quite an experience."
The rebel heard the voice and looked up to the aquarium like ceiling and called him out.
LM: "You like that, huh, Cohen? Why don't you come down here, appreciate the work up close. You might appreciate the finer details in your creation."
Cohen laughed a little and would rather wait.
Sander Cohen: "Patience, my little moth… Patience… I will see it closer when you are done completing it. Until then, I'll was watch at a distance. Speaking of which, you still have two more pictures to take. And two people to deal with."
The rebel sighed and decided to cut to the chase.
LM: "Yeah, yeah… I know… So who's going to be my next target? Better yet, how dangerous is this one going to be? After the last two, I'm afraid what your third former disciple will do to me."
There was a sigh through the speakers as Cohen could tell he wants to get right to the point.
Sander Cohen: "Yes… Always cutting right to the chase. Never wanting to have the time in appreciating art. Oh well, you are in a good mood, so let me tell you. The third traitor I want you to take care of is one Silas Cobb. Like the now former Fitzpatrick, he too was a musical prodigy. And if I may, was a big fan of my work. I took him under my wing and showed him the finer things in music. Course, when war broke out and shows were put on hold, well, let's just say he wasn't happy. Putting me to blame on his downfall. Now he's stuck in this eternal prison with me and wishes for revenge. One day though, he sent me a message with this Vox Recorder. Course what he said was quite colorful. Here… Have a listen…"
He hit the play button and the recorder started to play Cobb's message. All of which sounds completely negative on his end.
'You wanna lock us in, old man? Oh, that's fine with Cobbsie. I used to love you. I used to think you were a musical genius. You know why? Because you paid my rent, you ancient hack! Come on to the record store, I'll show you what I think of your plinkity, plink, plink!'
Hearing that log, he figured that this was a threat.
LM: "Hmm… Colorful isn't the word I was looking for. It sounds like this Silas guy certainly lost his respect to you."
Cohen sighed and knew what he meant.
Sander Cohen: "Indeed… Well, when Rapture went into a war that consumed the entire city, it can cause kind men to go insane. Cobb was no exception. His obsession in my work led him down the dark path and couldn't return to the way things were. Such a shame…"
He soon remembered about what he heard on the log.
LM: "Still, at least I have an idea on where he's hiding. He mentioned on the log about waiting for you at the record store. You know where that is?"
Cohen thought of that and knew of one record store that's in Fort Frolic.
Sander Cohen: "But of course. Rapture Records. Located on the second floor of Poseidon Plaza. That store had quite a reputation and has contain great music where the sensor doesn't reach. Most of the music was comprised by yours truly."
LM groaned and knew he would say that.
LM: "Great… You have a huge ego to match your work. How grand."
Cohen chuckled and took that as a compliment.
Sander Cohen: "Well, I don't want to boost, but I am the greatest with my work. No doubt that he is still waiting for me in that store. Ashamed that he won't be seeing me any time soon."
Hearing that, he knew what that meant.
LM: "Let me guess… You want me to see him in your place."
Sander Cohen: "Why yes! You are catching on, my little moth. Now I do advice you to remain cautious. I've sent many moths to see him, none fly back. He could be a hands full if you cross his path. Eliminate him, and take his final moments on the camera. I anticipate your latest work."
The speakers were soon turned off and the lights returned to normal as LM took a breather and was expecting that.
LM: "So, I need to head to the record store and find this third apprentice that went deranged. And he sent some men to his doorstep and hasn't heard from them. My day keeps on getting better and better. Oh well, let's get this over with."
So he left the Atrium and went through the frozen tunnel to reach Poseidon Plaza again. After a long walk, he went back to the plaza and looked around to see where the record store is.
LM: "Hmm… Now let's see… Where is that record store, exactly?"
Turning to the directory, he decided to check it out again and find the store Silas is in.
LM: "Cohen said that the record shop is located on the second floor of this plaza. Hmm… So from what I could see, it's located above me, right there."
He pointed to the record shop on the second floor and wondered how to get there.
LM: "Now, how do I reach it. Those stairs down there are blocked off and there's no other way in getting up there quicker other then going back to Eve's Garden and take the stairs from there. There's got to be another access stairway close to here so I can reach the record store quicker."
Looking to the map, he soon started to notice another way to the second floor.
LM: "Wait a minute…"
Looking to the spot, he noticed what appears to be another casino that's pretty much next to him. Skimming through the map, he could see that Sir Prize has two floors, both of which have exits in both floors.
LM: "Of course! There's a casino that has two floors and two exits. And the best part, it's closer to me. It's got to be…"
He peeked and noticed the neon sign that was flashing with a Knight in the middle and the title, 'Sir Prize' in between.
LM: "There! Sir Prize! This would be easier then I thought."
Walking away from the directory, he headed down to the casino. But as he approached it, he noticed something that was far disturbing. When he first passed it, the door was locked and there was no way in getting in. Now, the door was opened and it looks like someone managed to get out, but wasn't fortunate. Her body looked to be riddles with bullet holes in the back and was laid down on the floor face first. Bending down to one knee, he shook his head and felt so sorry for her, even if it was a female spider splicer.
LM: "Poor girl. She didn't see it coming."
Looking to the opened door, he stepped in and checked to see what's going to come for him. Looking around, he could tell that the first floor is more of a lounge for the lower level. The place is filled with pool tables, small circular tables with chairs for dining and get together, and a bar filled with liquor. But it looks like it went through a battle itself with one pool table turned over, tables brought down, and bottles shattered on the bar's wall shelves. There was also a lot of blood splattered on the walls and floor and bodies scattered about. Seeing this mess, he could tell that there was a fierce battle when he passed the place the first time.
LM: "Damn… Look at this place. Looks like their was a party and I wasn't invited. Wondered what happened here?:
He soon started to hear some ruffling sounds coming from the turned over pool table. Looking ahead, he wondered what that was about and took a deep breath.
LM: "Well, looks like I'm going to get an answer soon."
Slowly, he approached the pool table and was nervous of what was going to come out of it. By the time he got there, he heard a scream from behind the table as a random splicer popped out and charged in. This one was in fact glowing red with little specks of light dancing around it and he was holding a butcher knife and rambling on crazy things.
"They're everywhere! I can hear them! I can see them! I won't let them kill me!"
LM was in a panic and had to react quickly before he gets chopped to bits. Quickly he got his shotgun out and loaded some solid bucks into the clip to cock and load. Quickly, he pointed his shotgun right at the splicer and pulled the trigger, blowing a hole in his chest and sending him flying before making a swing. Slamming into the other side of the turned over pool table, he lay down on the ground and went completely limp. The rebel was fortunate to get out of there and lowered his shotgun in relief.
LM: "Whoa… That was too close for call. I thought that bastard was going to send me straight to the butcher. What happened with him?"
Approaching the body, and took a closer look to see what caused him go that crazy, well more crazy then a normal splicer. Bending down to one knee, he checked to see what drove him mad.
LM: "Hmm… Well, he certainly looked like a normal, as a mutilated splicer as it can be. But the way he reacted, he seems like he lost his shit. Judging by the face, he doesn't looked Crossed. I mean, if it were the case things could've been a whole lot worse for me. But what's with the red liquid with the tiny fireflies."
He outreached his hand and was about to touch it. But then, he could hear someone that sounded like he was dying.
"No… Don't touch that…"
Hearing that, he jolted up and turned to the direction of the voice. That's when he could see a splicer that looked to be impaled by a cue stick to the gut and was struggling to stay alive. Blinking, he approached the splicer and was keeping his guard up incase another trap would occur. Looking to him, he decided to ask before he passes through the other side.
LM: "Okay… I didn't think I would seek answers to someone who wishes to kill me, but I'm gamed. Tell me, what happened here? Why are there a lot of dead splicer bodies all over the place? Who did this?"
The splicer started to cough up blood and explained in a few quick words.
"Cobb… Enraged… People driven mad… Don't touch… Will drive you insane…"
He soon coughed up blood before passing out and passing away completely. But LM got the gist of it and figured what happened.
LM: "Enraged…? What's that? Some type of new plasmid. Never heard of one like that. But I did hear the name Cobb. Guess he must've been here and did some work on these guys. Wonder if he and this enraged are related."
Looking to the left, he could see the stairs that would lead him up to the second floor.
LM: "Regardless, I need to get on up to the second floor and reach the record store to find him and take care of him. I'm not that far."
He headed to the stairway and went on up to the second floor. By reaching it, the could tell that the second floor is the casino area of Sir Prize. There are rows of slot machines on both ends and the middle, tables for roulette, poker, and black jack. Near the entrance is the cashier/reception area for paying and cashing in chips. Course it looked like a war zone as much as the first floor as slot machines were sparking and dropped, tables turned over, and more dead bodies scattered in spots, some of which were covered in the red stuff with fireflies all over the place. Looking around, he could tell that whatever happened is related to this new plasmid.
LM: "Sheesh… This place is far worse then downstairs. All seems related to this new Plasmid. Definitely spells Cobb all over. Wonder why he's doing this?"
Walking closer to the war zone, he was cautious of the corpses, as he doesn't know if they are alive or not. As he slowly walked down towards the exit on the other end, he could hear some movement close by. Knowing that there are more of them, he took his shotgun out and loaded more Solid Bucks for a one shot kill. He kept walking down the casino area to reach the exit and was already halfway there. But as he was about to move, he started to hear a blood-curdling scream as a splicer drenched in red liquid came out and swung his pipe around to get the light bugs off of him.
"Get em' off! Get em' off! Get em' off! Get em' off! GET EM' OFF!"
Almost immediately he turned to the rebel and immediately rushed him for the kill.
"Get em' fucking off ME!"
He could see him rushing towards him and got his shotgun out and fired a shot, killing and pushing him back. But the moment he died, he could hear more yells and screams as a handful of splicers came out of their hiding spots and were all coated in the red gunk like the last one.
"They're everywhere!"
"Who are you!?"
"You working with Carl?"
"You can't fool me! We're on to you!"
"Fuck em'! FUCK EM' ALL!"
They all started to rush him with their melee weapons, wanting to take out all their anger and aggression on him. The rebel looked around and could tell that it was a complete trap.
LM: "Damn it!"
Pumping his shotgun and pointed at the first closest target and pulled the trigger, sending him flying. He soon jumped over a turned over poker table to get some space. Using the table as cover, he got his shotgun up and fired two more splicers in the process. But then, he mixed it up and kicked the table and pushed it towards a couple of more, knocking them down in the process. This gave him time to run up the wall and pushed himself off it when he reached the top. While in the air, he fired a couple of more shots and killed the ones that he knocked down with the table. Latching onto the chandelier, he quickly reloaded his shotgun and was about to go back to the attack. But then he felt shots from around him and noticed a few more splicers coming into the exit he was going to take, all drenched in red plasmid goop and have pistols and carbines.
"Shoot! Shoot! Get the buggers away!"
They started to continuously fire on him, wanting to take him down. LM quickly lifts his hand up and stopped the bullets while hanging onto the chandelier with the other. Making his hand a pistol, all the bullets turned and he pretended to fire on them. All those bullets were soon fired back and killed half of them while the other half scattered. Jumping off the chandelier, he landed on the roulette table as chips flew around him. In slow motion, he looked around and could see the splicers moving in slow motion and had to take them down at once. Seeing all the chips, he smirked and came up with a plan. Quickly, he grabbed every chip that was in the air and empty a chip of shells to load the chips up. Cocking it ready, he was ready to make a bet.
LM: "All right… Time to go All In!"
Just as he said that, one splicer charged in with a crowbar poised to bat. The rebel twisted his body and flipped the shotgun to use as a bat as well, knocking him off by the face. Getting back on the handle, he pulled the trigger and fired the first shot, letting the chips tore through his chest and out the other side. When he did that, he peeked back and could see another splicer charging in with a broken table stand in her hand. Feeling that, he turned and fired another load, letting the chips mutilate her face at point blank range. Then a few more went on ahead and used their carbines to continuously fired at the Titan. He started to make a run for it as his speed made the bullets miss him. Pretty soon, he reached the row of slot machines and used that row as cover. But as he was in cover, there was a splicer waiting for him with a lead pipe banging on the slot.
"Oh, goodie… Looks like I'm going to hit the jackpot!"
He soon charged in and screamed in complete terror. But there's one thing that splicer didn't prepare for. And that's LM with a shotgun full of casino chips.
LM: "Funny… It looked like you're about to go flat broke."
Pointing at the charging threat, he pulled the trigger and fired a shell of ships to his chest, creating multiple holes on his clothes and body. With him dead, he ran down the row as machines were riddled the bullets. By the time he reached the end, he ran up the end of the wall and jumped on to it. Running on the wall, he got a good angle while avoiding the bullets. Getting his shotgun out, he fired a couple of more shells as the chips went flying to the group of Enraged splicers. The moment he fired, the chips made Swiss cheese out of the group and they were all killed on impact. The moment he landed, he looked around to see if there are any more splicers in the area. That's when he turned and saw a splicer holding a black jack table over his head.
"And it looks like you pulled a Joker card on your deck, punk!"
With all his strength, he threw the table and it was flying right towards him. Seeing that, he ran towards it and duck down to perform a sweep, letting the table flew over them. He soon positioned his shotgun and fired more chips right at the splicer's junk. He screamed in pain as he keeled over, just to let LM jump up and deliver a crushing curb stomp. He was near the exit and was about to make an escape. But then, he felt something not right and turned to the one side where he could see the remaining splicers with their pistols and carbines armed and ready.
"No admittance without getting paid, bitch!"
Quickly, he stopped and headed up to the turned over black jack table. As he was reaching it, the group fired and bullets came flying around them. He quickly jumped over the table and went into immediate cover as the bullets flew around him. As he was getting into cover, he checked the clip on his shotgun and noticed that he has two more shells filled with poker chips left and had to strategize on it.
LM: "Two more shells… Not enough for the remaining group down at the exchange desk. Need to think of a way to get out of this."
Looking ahead, he noticed an old fire extinguisher that looked to have dropped, but still filled with white fluid. Looking at it, he smirked and came up with a plan.
LM: "Hmm… Looks like I have to improvise."
He grabbed the extinguisher and quickly tossed it in the air, where all the bullets continued to soar. One of these said bullets hit is and a white plume of foam came out and engulfed the entrance of the casino. The splicers saw that and were immediately blinded by the foam.
"Ah! What was that?! I can't see shit!"
"That bastard has to be around here somewhere. Wait until this crap is gone and we'll get him!"
But as they were waiting, the door started to open and LM was there with pointed his shotgun as the group.
LM: "Wait for me? Sucka, I'm already here!"
The group heard that and turned to react to it. But before they can strike, the rebel pulled the trigger and fired the last two shells, letting the chips obliterate the group. Checking out one what he did, he smirked and reminded himself of a certain character from a certain video game movie franchise.
LM: "Hmph… Alice got nothing on me."
Knowing the room is cleared, he proceeded to leave Sir Prize and hope that he can reach the record store in time. Running to the exit, the doors opened up and he was on the second floor of Poseidon Plaza and across the way, he could see the record store with a neon sign that says, 'Rapture Records'. Seeing this, he knew that this was the place.
LM: "There! That must be Rapture Records. I have to get there before more trouble gets to me."
Before he could make his way, he heard more screaming and turned to see where it was coming from. That's when he could see more splicers charging in with melee weapons and coated in red liquid with little specks buzzing around.
"Kill them! Strangle them! Do whatever you want! Everybody dies!"
They all made a run for the rebel with their weapons raised high in the air, screaming and speaking crazy talk. LM looks to them and gave a groan in annoyance.
LM: "Of course, they have to come in and ruin the fun. This day is going to get a little interesting."
He soon got his Tommy gun out with loaded more anti personnel bullets to dispatch them quickly. Pointing to the group charging, he pulled the trigger and fired a full drum right at them. They were all ripped apart and piled on the floor. But that was just a mere diversion as he heard more screaming from his side and turned to see more of them coming towards them.
"Got you fooled, boy! Now you're going to get got!"
The rebel started to get annoyed and knew that it wasn't going to be easy.
LM: "You guys aren't going to make it easy for me, huh?"
With no time reloading drum, he got one pistol out with one hand and fired a load of anti personnel bullets at them. Shooting one bullet after the next, he had one headshot after the next as the red ooze covered splicers charged in a conga line. Once they were dead, he quickly reloaded his drum of bullets into the Tommy gun and loads it ready for another go. He looked around and wondered if there are more of them coming by. So far it was clear and he might be able to get to the store. But if he know this place, Rapture is full of surprises.
LM: "Area's secured, for now. Better get to the record store now and find Cobb just so I can get out of this twisted Wonderland."
He hurried to the front of the store and was ready to take on Sander's fourth target. Looking up, he could see that he was at the right place. There is a window display that was showing instruments and the latest of music. And above it, is a neon sign with the title, 'Rapture Records' that have the R connected to the two words and a title below it that says, 'Sonorous Inc.'. Looking to the store, he knows that he's close enough to get to his target.
LM: "This is the place all right. Let's just hope he's home."
He was going to enter the store and find Silas Cobb. But before he could enter, he felt something wasn't right. Looking left and right, he could tell that he was being watched as red mist started to engulf the second floor and started to combine in certain spots. Looking on, he could tell that he has one more thing to deal with.
LM: "Of course, this wasn't going to be easy."
Just then, multiple Houdini splicers appeared and surround him in certain spots, with them drenched in red liquid.
"Burn him! Burn the bastard!"
With their hands burning, they started to fire multiple lobs of fireballs. Knowing this would happen, the rebel jumped back and flew over the opening that goes down to the first floor as the flames hit the spot he was on and they all exploded on impact, missing him completely. With both pistols out, he landed on the other side and pointed both weapons at the first two splicers, firing two shots right at the head. With the first two down, the others ran off and disappeared into a red cloud. Knowing this is their plan; he was on high alert and has his pistols at the ready. With his eyes darting around, he could see the first cloud starting to appear and gather and the third Houdini splicer started to appear. He soon got his hands together and shoots a flamethrower out of his hands. The rebel saw that and ran towards those flames, leading to him getting down on his knees and firing a bunch of bullets at his chest while bending back to avoid the heat. With his pistols down, he fired the entire clip on both weapons, taking out the splicer's knees in the process. The Houdini felt that and screamed in total pain. The rebel soon jumped back up with his hands and went over the splicer. He soon grabbed him by the shoulders and twist his body, leading to him snapping the enemy's neck in the process. As he did that, he peeked and saw another batch of red mist beginning to gather there as well. Seeing this, he did a break dancing move on the splicer's head and twists down to deliver a double foot on the carcass's back. The body flew towards the mist at the same time the fog materialized into another Houdini splicer. The body collided with him and got him a little disoriented.
"Hey! What the- Get off of me!"
This gave LM the time necessary to take the other one out. Loading his shotgun with phosphorous bucks, he ran up the wall and fired a full clip right at the two. With the sparks on their bodies, they burst into flames and were caught on fire. The living splicer felt that and screamed in total pain.
"AHHH! THE FIRE! IT BURNS! GET IT OFF ME!"
The rebel went to the other side and took a coffee can grenade that's loaded with gun powder.
LM: "Let's see if you can escape this, pal."
He soon toss the grenade to the two burning bodies and it made contact with them, blowing the two up in the process. Just as he was done with that, he could see another two misty clouds appearing and knew that he had to deal with two more. Reloading his pistols, he waited until the mist combine to form two more Houdini splicers.
"Give it up! You're outnumbered."
LM look at his odds and smirked at the threat they are packing.
LM: "I don't know… Two on one? Seems like a fair fight to me."
Of course, he didn't know that another cloud of red mist appeared behind him. It was then that the mist appeared and a female Houdini splicer was behind him and retorted back.
"No… But three is company."
The rebel could hear that voice and turned around to see that splicer behind him. Looking at the three, he could tell that he sprung their trap.
LM: "Of course they would trap me. Why am I not surprised? Oh well, best take these three out now while I can."
The three soon charged up with Incinerate plasmids and were ready to burn him alive.
"Turn him to ash, boys!"
So the three splicers fired flamethrowers out of their hands and they all headed straight to the rebel. Seeing this, LM smirked and knew what to do. Slowing down time, he went down to one knee and focused as the ripple on the floor was starting to be created. He soon jumped up high in the air and avoided the flames as it hit. The splicers saw that and was completely shocked that he pulled that move off.
"The fuck!? How did he do that? That fucker would've been burned alive by now!"
Just as she asked that, they could hear his voice from above.
LM: "Simple…"
They soon looked up to see the Titan on the small chandelier on the ceiling with his shotgun still armed and ready.
LM: "I had a great teacher."
Pulling the trigger, he fired an electric buck right to the female Houdini splicer and it connected, sending a jolt in and out of her body. She screamed in pain as the other splicers stepped back and threw lobs of flames at him. The rebel immediately jumped off the chandelier and avoided the projectiles. Landing on the ground, he rushed to him and used his weapon to swing it like a bat. The two immediately vanished and avoided the swing easily. Although, LM missed them, he still has one more to deal with. With his pistol out, he fired a single bullet at the third splicer's head and killed her in one shot. Suddenly, one of the mist appeared and gathered as the second Houdini appeared and continuously threw fiery grenades at him. He started to focus as he bend around to duck and dodge every hot projectile thrown at him. Running up while dodging, he got into position and pulled the trigger, giving him a 1,000-volt shock with a buck. With him completely immobile and gave him a kick to the side of the head and took him down before pointing his pistol and shooting him in the head as well. That left the last one to deal with. He looked around to find him, but he hasn't shown his face. Almost like he was stalling. So walking around, he started to coax him out of his hiding spot.
LM: "All right, bud… Everyone's dead… I don't have time to play hide and seek with you. Why don't you come on out so we can get this over with? I'll promise you a quick and painless death."
As he was checking, he could see the record store close to his position. He hopes that he would make a mad dash to the store before the last splicer decided to appear and burn him to a crisp. But he could hear a maniacal laughter around him and knew that it would be too easy.
"Fat chance, brat! I'm not dieing from the likes of you. Hell, I'm already dead because of that Cobb bastard!"
Hearing that, he decided to stall time as he looked for any way in getting him out of his invisibility teleporting abilities. As he was looking for something, he asked about it.
LM: "Silas Cobb, huh? I'm hunting him down for Sander. Part of his magnum opus, as he said. I take it all that red shit on ya is his work. What is it? Some kind of new Plasmid?"
As he was looking, he noticed a dead Rosie Big Daddy lying on the floor in the corner. Preferably from a previous battler that involved a bunch of splicers that was coated in a red liquid. Most likely had a Little Sister with him when the attack occurred. But then, he saw something that could be effective to use. It looked like some type of high propulsion spear gun latched on to its arm with a spear that lay on the floor. Seeing this, he came up with an idea and put his weapons away to head to the corpse. As he was getting the spear loaded and trying to operate the contraption, he could hear the voice of the splicer explaining what the Plasmid is and what it can do.
"It's called Enraged. This is a potent and deadly plasmid Rapture Elites use to handle crowd control and dispersing riots in Apollo Square and Pauper's Drop. Don't know how a mook like Cobb got his hands on that stuff. But he knows it's the best weapon to handle Cohen's twisted empire. Once you doused in that crap, you loose your fucking mind. They go on a killing spree, murdering and raping anyone they see. He keeps using it on those wondering souls who step into Cohen's trap and use them to kill each other. He wishes to use an army of enraged psychopaths to storm into Cohen's palace to burn it down. Heh… Guess he didn't realize on how potent this plasmid can be."
The rebel listened to him and was a little amused by it.
LM: "Hmm… A plasmid that can make anyone crazy. That's fucked up if you ask me. Still, at least it's better then getting yourself Crossed. Trust me, I read enough comics of that and…let's just say it wasn't a pretty picture to describe."
As he stalled for time, he managed to put the spear in and pulled it back ready to fire. At the same time, he mist behind him started to appear and slowly gathered.
"Ha! That's a laugh! I bet they had a better death then what this city is going through. Though I'm afraid you would've been better in that make believe world then here!"
He soon appeared and his hands were burning ablaze. LM could feel the heat behind him and knew he was there. And he was prepared to face him.
LM: "Yeah…? Well… Between this and getting fucked, killed, and eaten by cannibal necrophiliatic murderers with red crossed on their faces, I prefer here then the other."
He soon turned around and pointed the spear gun at the splicer with the dead Daddy's hand and was ready for him. The splicer saw that and realized that he stepped into it, good. He was going to vanish away and hide, but the rebel pulled the brute's finger trigger and the spear was fired out of the gun. The spear flew incredibly fast and impaled him into the gut, sending him flying to the wall and latched on to him completely. He was knocked out when the back of his head hit the wall and blood came down his face and neck, leaving him both unconscious and bleeding out through the stomach. The rebel soon got up and surveyed the damage as he told him that he's going to find his target.
LM: "Thanks for the info, pal. Now I'm going to go kill Cobb."
He soon walked past the hanging, dieing corpse and reached the record store again. By the time he's back at the entrance, he looked around and hoping that there were no more traps.
LM: "Let's see… No more traps, run ins, or ambushes, so far… Let's hope Cobb isn't too much of a threat than these enraged maniacs he created."
So he entered the store to start finding his target. When the doors started to open, he could see the cashier desk in front of him with two doorways leading to the record store. There were a total of five cash registers with a sign on the wall of a record with the title next to it that says, 'Records'. Course, the record sign was sparking and going on and off as the placed looked like had a shoot out with the desk torn and registers empty of their cash. Looking at the place, he could tell that he was in the right place.
LM: "Looks like this is the place. Now where could this Cobb be?"
Approaching the front desk, he noticed another Vox recorder and decided to see what it contains. Hitting play, he could hear the disgruntled voice of Silas Cobb complaining of his treatment in the city.
'It's always the same old shit… Cohen… Ryan… Rapture… I came to the city so that I don't get treated like a puppet from the record labels, telling me what I can and cannot sing about. But when I thought I was going to make it, they treat me like those cursed labels. Trying to play their tune and not mine. It pisses me off! Then war broke out, Atlas and his revolutionaries went on a rampage, and the government here crumbles away. Hmph… If you call a bunch of old ego couths a government, that is. Now I'm stuck in his eternal prison with the one guy I use to call a friend. How poetic… Well, I'm done playing his fucking tune! I'm no longer your songbird! I'm coming for you, Cohen. I'm going to send an army of lunatics to your doorsteps and we're going to tear that theater apart, with you in it. It's going to be glorious. Simply glorious…'
The recorder stopped, as LM knew this guy is completely out of it. Course, he heard the same voice from around, but in real life.
Silas Cobb: "Hello? Is someone there? Who's there? Did Cohen sent ya?"
Hearing that, he knew that Cobb was there. Noticing a piece of loose board with nails sticking out, he picked it up and slowly creep down to one of the doorways. By the time he left the cashier, he was amazed at what he's looking at. The store was huge with rows of records to buy from classical, jazz, swing, and blues. There's a separate section for instruments that comprises of guitars, bass, trumpets, saxophones, and drums, and posters on one end of the wall promoting the latest of music, mostly related to Cohen and his work and windows on the other side giving out a bright light of the sea. Unfortunately, it looks like someone was living here as at the end looked like a bonfire that's burning records, instruments, and a poster of Cohen's face. But he noticed someone is sitting there watching the flames burning away. At that distance, he could tell that Cobb was waiting for him. So he had to make it quick and quiet. Slowly walking down the steps, he approached the end of the store to reach Cobb, trying not to make a single noise. Stepping around the broken records and glass, he was being careful with his stealth. But Cobb knew that someone was there and kept on talking.
Silas Cobb: "So… You're not answering me. Strange… Normally, some foolish splicer sent by Cohen would be sloppy to stop me. You… You're different. Far clever then those spliced up bastards. Guess Cohen found someone that can do the job right, I reckon. And let me guess, you took down Finnegan and Rodriguez, right. And now you want to take me out as well? Put my dead corpse into that kraut's piece of art? Well, I'm not going to let you!"
LM ignored him and slowly approached the chair the Cobb was on looking at the fire. When he was close he raised his melee object high in the air, giving it a good whack. Looking at this, he thought that it was too easy. Slowly getting his camera out, he readied his next photo for his target. But turning around, he noticed that Cobb wasn't on the chair, but just a dead corpse that tied up with rope and there was some dynamite on the center with a built in clock on it. That clock started to tick down as the red light started to blink. Seeing this, he found out that he got lured into a trap.
LM: "Oh Shit!"
He soon turns around and ran away from the blast radius. The moment the clock reached zero, it exploded and pushed the rebel to the floor. Landing on his face, he groaned and got up from the after affect. When he got up, he wondered what happened to Cobb as he was dooped. It was then that he heard the voice of Cobb from above as he laughed it off. Hearing that, he looked up to see someone up on the balcony area where the entrance of the record store was located. He was wearing what looked to be like a raggedy suit and was wearing some kind of butterfly mask and was carrying a crate filled with what is to believe to be Enraged Plasmids with built in timers on the top. No doubt, that is Silas Cobb and he was holding one of those bottles.
Silas Cobb: "So you're Cohen's little messenger boy? I've got something for that crow! Spend a little time with my kittens, sugar!"
He soon turned to an open vent on one side of the wall and threw it into the slot. He soon ran off and flee the scene. The rebel was about to catch up, but he soon heard an explosion from within the vents. He soon overheard screaming and yelling all across the ceiling and heard a lot of clanking all around him. Readying his Tommy gun, he knew that trouble was about to come.
LM: "Looks like I'm going to need to dance for them huh? No matter… I'll dance. But first, let's play some music."
He turned to see a jukebox located on the side of the wall. He soon walked up to it the moment the spider splicers were scurrying within the ceiling. Looking to the jukebox, he kicked it and the machine was automatically turned on as it placed a record on the turntable and started to play 'Papa love Mumbo' by Perry Como. Listening to the music, he tapped his foot and started to love the song.
LM: "Hmm… Not Smooth Criminal, but it will do."
Getting his Tommy gun out, he loaded it with a drum of anti personnel bullets and waited for the dance to begin.
LM: "Now then… Who wishes to dance with me first?"
As if on cue, the ceiling tiles burst and a group of female spider splicers came out and charged towards the rebel, all dosed in Enraged Plasmids and have an intent to kill. Seeing that many, he could tell this is going to be an intense dance.
LM: "Okay then… All of you will be my dance partner as it seems."
Loading his gun up, he pointed up to the ceiling and got the party started.
LM: "All right, let's dance!"
Pulling the trigger, he fired a stream of red bullets right at the ceiling. Some of the splicers were hit hard and dropped to the floor dead, while the others survived and dangled on the ceiling for a brief moment before dropping to the floor. Landing on their feet, the charged to the rebel and screamed randomness out of their mouths.
"You need me! You need me bad!"
He soon pointed his rifle to those that are charging and managed to take out as many as he could. Soon the drum ran empty as he heard a click. Looking to his rifle, he knew that he has to improvise.
LM: "Damn."
He soon got to the defensive and ducked down to roll over an attempted swing form one of the female splicer's hooks when she got close. Getting back up, he jumped over a record isle when he was blocked off by two more. Getting to the other side, he approached the instrument section and grabbed a microphone stand from the display platform. Turning he blocked the first strike from another splicer and used the stand as a staff, twisting it to block any and all attempted strikes. Looking up to the balcony entrance Cobb fled to, he need to get up there fast and catch up to him before it's too late. So he blocked off the last strike and turn his body to forcibly impale the female splicer in the gut. Seeing two more splicers going over the isle, he grabbed two cymbals from the drum set and tossed them towards the two. The cymbals chop the heads of the splicers clean off and their headless bodies dropped to the floor. Then another one came to the side and was lunging for the kill. Quickly, he turns to grab an acoustic guitar and whacked it up to her head, knocking her out completely. He soon jumped off the platform and made a mad dash towards the stairs that would lead him upstairs. Almost immediately, he was blocked off by a group of spider splicers as they have their hooks in position to maul.
"Do you want to play with us?"
The rebel looked at the situation in front of him and had to get out of it. Noticing a fire extinguisher attached to the wall, he looked back to the group and smirked a little.
LM: "Thanks for the offer. But I got places to go and someone to meet. So if you excuse me…"
He soon got into his jacket and took out his pistol to fire one bullet at the extinguisher. The moment it connects, it exploded and engulfed the isle in flames. The splicers were caught from the blast and were on fire, screaming in pain. LM was successful handling it, but noticed the flames blocking the one isle.
LM: "Well, that's a slight miscalculation."
He soon jumped to the middle of the isle and made a mad dash towards the exit. But he didn't realized that more spider splicers came down the ceiling and went after them. The rebel could feel that coming and reloaded his Tommy gun and fired more shots right at them. While it was successful, there were more of them coming at him. Looking up the ceiling, he could see the chandeliers above the store and came up with a plan. With the remainder of his bullets in the drum, he pointed up to the ceiling and the snapped at the chains, causing them to fall. The splicers didn't feel it coming as the chandeliers came down and crash to the ground, killing most of the enemies on impact, followed by vinyl's and splinters of wood flying about. Once they were disposed of, LM hurried up the stairs and returned to the register area. Leaving the record store, he was back into Poseidon Plaza and searched for Silas Cobb. Reloading, he looked around the area to find his target.
LM: "All right, Cobb. Where are you? Show yourself!"
He soon started to hear an angry voice of Cobb's voice and didn't sound too happy.
Silas Cobb: "My kittens! You murdered my kittens! Now you will die, you piece of shit!"
Listening, he turned to the direction of the voice and could see Cobb standing there, looking very furious. With his Tommy gun loaded, he decided to go after him.
LM: "Get back here, punk!"
Cobb though decided to give him a little game and tossed enough Enraged bomb into another vent as ran off.
Silas Cobb: "You better catch me first, errand boy! Have fun with some new friends."
He soon ran off and headed down the steps. Seeing him leave, he ran to him and was about to take the steps as well. Suddenly, he heard an explosion and turned to see what it was. That's when he remembered the target tossed another one of those ticking time bottles that was filled with that enraged plasmid. He soon started to heard clanking noises and another group of Spider splicers came out of the cracks, draped in both plaster and red liquid, screaming in and scampering to the rebel's position.
"You die! You die slow and painful! You die forever!"
Knowing it is looking a little bleak, he pointed his weapon up and gave a deep groan.
LM: "You're not making this too easy for me Cobb!"
Getting his gun up to the ceiling, he fired more rounds at the splicers that were crawling on the ceiling. He managed to take out a couple, but the others jumped off the ceiling and latched onto the walls. Seeing this, he needed to take them out now before they get on the ground and attack without warning. Pointing his gun to the nearest splicer, he filled him up with led and killed him as he dropped to the floor. He soon saw two more scurrying the wall on the other side and turned to fire more shots at them. He was able to take down one, but the other got away. To make matters worse, his rifle was empty and he had little time in reloading when he charges in. So he quickly switched to his shotgun and loaded up a clip of exploding bucks to deal with heavy damage. Looking up, he saw the splicer running up to him and lunged with his hooks out to maul his face. Getting his weapon up, he pulls the trigger and the one-buck ignited in flames and engulfed the freak. He screamed out loud as he falls to the floor and squirms around, feeling the aguish of the fire. He soon looked around incase more of them are nearby. What he didn't know is that there was one that was hanging on the ceiling over him and found an opening. She soon unhooks herself and came falling to him, twisting her body to deliver a fatal blow on the cranium. Immediately, LM felt the dust on him and rolled away to avoid the attack. Rolling back up, he turned to see the Spider splicer missing him and looked up with a distasteful look on her face.
"Lucky prick! You made me miss! Now I'm going to kill you slow and painfully!"
LM could see the killing intent in her eyes and had to act fast before she can pull something like that off. Looking at the red flammable barrels, he decided to take her out first before she can.
LM: "Try me, bitch."
Pointing his shotgun to the barrels, he fired it and the barrels exploded on impact, close to her position. She got blown up in the process and flew down to the first floor, leading to a huge splat in a fiery fall. His victory was short lived though as two more spider splicers were on the walls and lunged at him. Seeing the two, he jumped up high and avoided the team kill as the splicers collided into each other. The two landed on the floor and rubbed their heads from the after affects, blaming each other for their clumsiness.
"Hey! That hurt, you clutz! You got in the way!"
The second splicer heard him and put him at fault.
"What?! You saying it's my fault? You were the one who in my way!"
"Yeah, right. You were the one that got in the way of my attack. Not me."
"No… It was you."
"No, you."
"No, you!"
"No, YOU!"
The two argued for a few short seconds before they heard the sounds of pistols clicking. The two looked up and saw LM hanging on the chandelier upside down with two pistols aiming right at their heads.
LM: "You know, for a bunch of mature spliced up people, you act like a bunch of children."
He soon started to pull the triggers and fired two bullets right to the heads, leaving the two splicers dead. The rebel then started to jump off the chandelier and twisted his body to land on the floor. Looking around, he wondered where Cobb went to this time. Looking down the balcony where a piece of art deco was sticking out two full floors, he noticed someone with a familiar box of Enrage grenades heading down a set of steps leading to some kind of basement. Seeing him, he didn't realize the spider splicer from the wall behind him, as he told him to stop.
LM: "Hey! Where do you think you're going? Come back you coward!"
Course, as he said that, the splicer bolted off the wall and lunged towards the rebel with killing intent.
"Die mother fucker!"
The rebel heard that voice and immediately jumped and flipped to avoid the lunge. The splicer missed him and planted himself face first into the sculpture and splattered completely. He soon landed on the railing of the walkway and jumped off it to fall back to the first floor. Landing with his one knee. He looked up to see where his target is. That's when he could see a shadow at a stairway with a sign on the wall that says, 'More Items Downstairs'. Seeing that, he smirked and knew where Cobb was going.
LM: "I got you now…"
Getting up, he ran to reach the entrance of the steps. But then, he heard the sound of explosions all around him, but there was no blasting residue around. Checking around, he didn't see any fires or any recent debris. Instead, he heard the sounds of screams and scattering behind the walls. Checking the vents and open passages, he noticed red residue out of the holes and realized that Cobb has pulled another fast one on him.
LM: "Damn… I'm REALLY starting to hate this plasmid."
He soon reloaded his Tommy gun with another drum of anti personnel bullets and waited for the threat to come. Just then, a hoard of Spider splicers came out of their hiding spots and charged to him, with red goop all over them and a rageful intent in their eyes.
"I can't stop! I won't stop!"
As they charged in, LM pointed at the ceiling and began firing on them. He managed to take out a couple, but more of them kept coming out of the woodworks.
"Give it up! You can't take us all on!"
The rebel quickly grabs his shotgun that's loaded with electric bucks and gave a bit of a groan.
LM: "Yeah… You're right about that. But that doesn't mean I can still try."
As he said that, some of the splicers were closer to others as they came down and attack him. LM quickly dodged out of the way as the group missed him completely. During the roll, the rebel kicked a red barrel at the cluttered group and fired his shotgun at it, causing it and the threat to explode in a million pieces. Pretty soon, he went on an all out feud with a handful of splicers. The first one crawled to the ceiling and was getting close to him. But the rebel saw him and fired a few quick shots at him, letting him drop to the floor. Two more then landed on the ground and gave their own charge towards him. Quickly, he turned around and fired two electric bucks at them and caused them to get shocked enough for him to finish them off with his Tommy gun. Then another one was at close enough range to slash him in the face. He immediately sidestepped to avoid the strike and positioned his shotgun to fire squarely in the back. Then with his Tommy gun, he sprayed it from one end to the other and removed that line of splicers that were about to attack him. But as he kept shooting, his gun clicked and it was empty. Knowing this, he went into his trench coat to get a new clip. But as he checked, he realized that he was low on ammo. Grabbing one more drum of regular bullets, he sighed and knew this was going to happen.
LM: "Great… Just my luck… I'm trying to catch this guy and I'm almost out of ammo. Really need to improvise in this situation. How is the question?"
Of course, as he thought of that, he was distracted with another splicer that lunged to him with the hooks ready to pierce.
"Got you now!"
Hearing that, LM turned and dropped his weapons and grabbed him by the arms. Placing him on the shoulders, he delivered and Attitude Adjustment and flung him right into the store windows. The moment it shattered, the alarm blared at that familiar announcement was made.
"Vandalism is a serious crime. Remember: vandals of Parasites."
He soon started to hear beeping and propellers close by and looked to see a lot of security drones coming to his position. Both were tazer and machine gun kinds. Seeing them, he found what he was looking for.
LM: "Okay, that will do."
Putting away his rifle and digging into his pockets, he took out his remaining Auto Hack darts and gave a bit of a sigh.
LM: "Not enough… Better make these count."
Placing one dark into his Hack Tool, he was ready to pull it off. Of course, he has to deal with the rest of the spider splicers as well as a female one charged in and went for the jugular.
"Got you now, my sweet!"
Course, he was prepared as he turned with is shotgun out and fired one buck to her chest. He soon turned back to one of the drones and fired one Autohack dart at it, letting it connect and automatically hacking into it. He soon rolled out of another attack from a splicer and went onto his knees to fire another dart at the second drone. He soon spins his body on the ground and swept his leg to bring the splicer down before he could strike again. Jumping back up, he rushed to a group of splicers and jumped onto one of them by the shoulders. Jumping off him, he focused and slow down time to point at the third drone. With precise aim, he fired his third dart and it connected and hacked successfully. Landing back down to the ground, he ran up to the wall and jumped on it. Running to the wall, he jumped off it and fired his forth dart while upside down. That in turned hacked the fourth security drone. With one more auto hack dart, he landed on the ground and reloaded it quickly to fire on the last drone. But just as he was about to do that, he was immediately speared by a splicer and was pinned to the floor. Seeing the splicer's deformed face, the enemy licked his lips and was eager to kill him.
"Oh… That's some crazy moves you did. But I'm afraid it's over for you. Time to die…"
He raised his hook and was about to go for the head. But before he could do that, he was shocked by an electric pulse. Feeling that, he turned around and could see one of the drones the rebel hacked as it fired another shot at him. He immediately jumped off the Titan and flipped back to avoid the next shock. LM quickly got up and was thankful he managed to hack that, or it would've been worse.
LM: "Sheesh… Talk about cutting it close."
Getting his last dart loaded, he looked for the final security drone, as the hacked ones was busy handing the splicers around him. It was then he saw it heading towards him and fired bullets towards him. Lifting his hand up, the bullets stopped close to his face. At the same time, he got his Hack Tool up and fired the last dart. As it connected and hacked, the drone stopped shooting at him and preceded with assisting the other drones he hacked. Letting the bullets drop to the floor, the rebel got up and surveyed his work. Seeing all the security drones busy handling the rest of the splicers, he smirked and decided to make his leave.
LM: "Well guys, it's been fun. But I have an important date to handle. See you on the flip side!"
He soon dashed to the stairs that will lead him down to where Cobb was and made a quick escape. As he did that, one the splicers saw him and told the others about it.
"Hey! That bastard is getting away! We have to stop him!"
But as he said that, he was shocked by a thousand volts before riddled with bullets. The others saw that and noticed the drones flying around, dishing out some justice under the control of LM.
"We have to stop them first before we can get to him."
They soon continued to avoid them while trying to get a good enough opening. Course it will take them some time as they have just hooks instead of actual weapons.
Meanwhile, LM walked down the steps, hoping there's no traps or anything of that nature Cobb could produce. By the time he reached the bottom of the steps, he entered the lower levels and noticed that he was at some sort of thrift department. There appears to be multiple stands with various items for sale at the cheapest of prices. Everything from supplies, devices, and clothing from previous years are all in display. Looking at all of this, he was surprised that something like that would be underneath a shopping/entertainment district for the rich and famous.
LM: "Well now… This is something unexpected. A cheap thrift department? I never thought there be a place like this underneath a fancy shopping mall."
Walking down the place, he notice and Ammo Bandito vending machine that were still working. Knowing he was low on ammo, he decided to splurge a little. Placing some cash into the machine, he purchased a few more drums of anti personnel bullets, solid bucks, rounds of pistol ammo, and extra hack darts incase things get too dicey. Once he got them, he proceeded with the search and looked for Cobb somewhere in the mess. As he was looking, he heard his voice echoing through the area and was on high alert.
Silas Cobb: "So… You came at last to me, huh. Didn't think that fucker, Cohen, was really desperate and ending me after that back stabber treated me like a piece of trash."
The rebel peered his eyes around and could tell that he got the wrong message and explained himself.
LM: "What can I say? Didn't have much of a choice either. I was on my way to Ryan to put an end to this hunt against me and my friends. Cohen then trapped me and forced me to do his bidding. Hunting down his former disciples and taking pictures of their corpses in the process. Definitely not want to spend my day around here.
Cobb heard him and told him that it was all a farce.
Silas Cobb: "You just don't get it, do ya? It's all a game, errand boy! Cohen, Ryan! Two old birds pulling on each others milk sticks!"
Hearing that voice, he looked around to find a source. That's when he saw a shadow close by and knew that it belonged to one Cobb. Seeing that, he reloaded his Tommy gun and started to approach the spot in the corner.
LM: "Yeah… I get there is a gripe between the two. But it's not my battle."
He slowly started to walk down to the shadow as Cobb finds it hard to believe.
Silas Cobb: "Really? You don't think you are apart of this stupid feud. Yet here you are, doing Cohen's bidding. Just like what he did with me. You're a stooge, just like I use to be."
The rebel heard of that and couldn't help but to smirk.
LM: "A stooge? Me? Whelp, I no Moe. Sure as Hell not Larry. Definitely not Curly. So what does that make you? Charlie Chaplin?"
Cobb laughed it up and thought it was funny.
Silas Cobb: "Oh, that's real funny. You're quite the comedian, you know that right? A shame no one is going to hear that. You're going to die, just like every sad sap that got dragged into Cohen's little web."
He was getting close to the shadow and was ready for the kill.
LM: "Really? I'm certain you said that to every poor soul that you killed with the help of that Enraged Plasmid along with a gang of splicers you forced into your twisted vendetta. But there's a difference between them and me. And you want to know what?"
Cobb was silent until asking back.
Silas Cobb: "No… What is that?"
With his rifle ready, he told him straight away.
LM: "That I'm more cunning than them."
He soon got around the corner and pointed his weapon, firing half a drum at the shadow. But soon enough, he stopped and realized that it wasn't Cobb. Instead, it was a mannequin that is dressed in a suit and mask. He blinked a little bit and was confused about it as the person's voice responded back.
Silas Cobb: "Funny, I was going to say that same thing to you."
He soon heard ticking beneath the mannequin and looked down to see what it is. That's when he could see a built in timer with three bottles of Enraged Plasmids hooked up to it. Starring at it, he immediately realized that he was tricked by some misdirection.
LM: "Shit!"
He immediately turned around and ran away before the blast could hit him. But it was too late as the timer went down to zero and continuously rang. In a brief moment, the bomb exploded and pushed the rebel Titan into a stand and smashed through a table. The explosion caused red mist to spread around the thrift floor, covering everything with it. LM groaned and slowly got himself up from the after effect of the blast.
LM: "Ow… That hurt… Can't believe that bastard pulled a fast one on me. When I get my hands on him…"
He rubbed his head, feeling the slight headache from the blast. But when he did that, he felt something on his forehead. Looking at his hand, he noticed that it was covered in red liquid, the same red liquid as the splicers. Looking at his body and the environment around him, he found out that he's now on the same boat.
LM: "Fuck me…"
He heard Cobb laughing maniacally and explained to him what makes that plasmid so special.
Silas Cobb: "Quite a beauty, ain't it? These Enraged Plasmids are quite a potent bash when it comes to crowd control. Ryan's little Elite uses it to handle population control when it comes to poor areas like Apollo or Pauper's Drop. Just toss a few lobs on a small group and they will all go on a murder frenzy. You can imagine the number of people were killed by that cursed liquid. Had to smuggle a couple of crates or so from Neptune's Bounty to use it for my own intentions. Took me weeks in tinkering around to create a potent weapon capable of making an army to take down Cohen. You saw the results yourself, did ya?"
The rebel started to feel woozy and held on to a pillar. Taking a breather, he could tell something is happening to him.
LM: "Son of bitch… I don't feel too good…"
Cobb heard him and snickered at the thought.
Silas Cobb: "That's just the plasmid seeping into your skin and tensing your body. It will soon increase your adrenaline and raise your blood pleasure. Once it hits your brain, you can't think of anything but killing. That's the beauty of that Plasmid. You can only think about killing anyone that stands in your way, be that your family or friends. And you, my errand boy, you are going to help me kill Cohen, whether you like it or not."
He could feel it slipping into his mind and was slowly drawing a blank. Thankfully, he can still fight this until he can find a way to reverse it. But he still is valiant as he told him what he thinks of him.
LM: "Fuck off!"
Silas Cobb: "My, oh my. You still got some fight in you, huh? No matter, you will succumb to the plasmid one way or another. Until then, why don't we have a little fun? Here, let me introduce to you to some of Cohen's little moths he sent to go after me. You can see that they are, quite a handful after long exposure."
He could soon hear the sound of screeches and hollering close by and turned around to see what it was. That's when he could see some normal splicers with melee weapons and weapons in their possessions.
"Cohen betrayed us! He betrayed us all! And he'll betray you too!"
Seeing this group, he groaned and could tell that Cobb is stalling him until the enraged took hold of him.
LM: "Oh, c'mon! Seriously?!"
The first batch started to charge in and have their melee weapons on the ground, sparking it on the tiles. With little time, he got into a stance and was ready to fight while the plasmid was affecting his body. He dodged the first swing on the first splicer and twists his body to deliver a kick right to his face, knocking him out. With the pipe out of the splicer's hand, he grabbed and ducked another swing from the second splicer, using his weapon to hit him in the stomach. He soon did a knee jab to his face and knocked his lights out as well. After that, he turned around and used his pipe to block a machete from the third splicer. As he was holding his own, he could feel his vision getting blurry and knew that the affects are spreading faster than anticipated. Knowing this, he pushed the splicer back and head butted him before swinging his weapon like a bat and caused him to twist his neck and killing him in an instant. He nearly lost his balance as the fifth splicer got his own literal bat and was going to attack from behind. On instinct, he did a back kick and hit the enemy right in the balls. The splicer could feel that and cringed as he came down to the floor withering completely. Turning around, he delivered a devastating punt to the head and brought him down easily. Turning around, he could see three more charging in and have little time with them. With both pistols out, he fired all his rounds at them and killed them all in one fell swoop. But as that was over, the splicers with weapons pointed their carbines and Tommy guns at him and fired right at him. He managed to stop them with his hands, but he was getting weaker and slowly loosing his focus. He slowly started to get into cover, running and jumping over an old record player. The splicers soon followed and went back to shooting. Emptying their clips, they laid waste to the stand, as items were shattering all over the place. The rebel was hiding behind the record player and was panting hard, knowing that the enraged is coursing through his body.
LM: "Damn it… This is too much… That plasmid is really doing a number on me. I have to find a way to reverse its effects otherwise I'll wind up like these idiots."
The enraged splicers continued to fire as more bullets tore apart the stand and the items around it. One of the bullets hit a water pipe that was on the wall and water started to spew out close to LM. The rebel felt that in his hand and was freezing from the coldness of it.
LM: "Shit! That's freezing! As if my day isn't bad enough."
But as he was looking at his hand, he noticed the red gunk was washed off it. Seeing that, he realized what it meant.
LM: "Of course… It's the water! Water can wash this crap off me! How could I not see that first hand?"
He soon started to feel more whoozy and knew that the effects were about to take hold.
LM: "Better clean myself off and fast, otherwise I will loose my mind completely. Too bad that little splash won't help."
Looking up, he could see what appears to be some kind of sprinkling system that would contain some water, if exposed to heat properly.
LM: "Hmm… The sprinkler system seems to be working. That will give me enough water to clean this shit off of me. But I'm going to need some fire to make it work, and I mean a huge enough fire."
He peeked around to find something that could be useful to explode. Just then, he noticed a barrel that's loaded with fireworks and some red flammable barrels used for special occasions. Obvious, it was placed there for illegal reasons, and it is a good enough spot to blow them up. Plus it was close to the remaining splicers so it's perfect to dispose of them completely. The rebel looked at it and found it to be a bit convenient.
LM: "Fireworks? Wonder what they're doing here? There's not much to do with them since you're underwater. Perhaps it's something Matt Hardy would buy for his broken gimmick. Regardless, it's the only option I have left and I'm a little pressed for time."
Digging into his jacket, he took one the last coffee can grenade and had one shot at this.
LM: "Last grenade… Better make it count."
He soon took out his lighter and lit the fuse string. The moment it lit up, he looked to the flammable objects and have to take the shot now before it's too late. Looking back, he could see an opening as the group started to reload their weapons, knowing that they're empty. Seeing that, he took the opportunity and tossed the grenade to the barrels. One of the splicer's saw this and warned the others about it.
"Shit! We got incoming! Shoot it down!"
They all managed to reload their weapons and pointed to the grenade in the air. The rebel could see that and could feel his anger bubbling from within, most likely from the enraged plasmid in his system.
LM: "Oh no you don't! I won't let you take out my last grenade!"
He soon took two of his pistols out and fired multiple shots at them. He emptied two rounds and place them in the chests and arms, trying to make sure they don't shoot down his grenade. The object managed to reach the barrels and rolled close to the fireworks. Once the fuse disappeared, it exploded and caused a chain reaction to both the barrels and the fireworks. The wounded splicers were pushed off from the blast and the fireworks flew around, destroying everything it touches. In a matter a moments, the place started to engulf in flames and the sprinkler system detected the heat. Immediately, water spewed out of the nozzles and extinguished the flames. LM slowly got out and was breathing heavily from the Enraged Plasmid. Looking at his body through the mirror, all the enraged gunk was pouring off his body and was long gone. The same can be said with the area around it as the red liquid was washed off and went down the drains. The sprinklers stopped as he took a sigh of relief and knew that it was over.
LM: "Thank God… That's over with. For one second I would've gone crazy."
He soon started to take a step, but he still felt woozy and held on with the pillar, breathing heavily.
LM: "Shit… Feeling a little weak. Could be the side effects from the Enraged that is going out of my system. Sure hope it's not permanent."
Just as he said that, a voice of Cobb was very close by.
Silas Cobb: "Oh, it's not permanent, incase you're wondering. But it will leave your body weak for a few minutes. That's the beauty of Enraged. Even when it's out of your system, it will tire you out for a short moment. Plenty of time to finish you off."
He looked up to see where it was coming from. That's when he saw Cobb approaching him and was carrying a bottle in one hand and a sharp fire poker on the other. Seeing this, he knew what occurred and what Cobb did.
LM: "You planned this, did you? Luring me here, planted that bomb as a trap, knowing I would go crazy only to wash myself from the cursed Plasmid, and the fact that I would grow weak from the after affects. And for what? Just to take me on at my weakest? What a dick move you pulled."
Silas gave a bit of a chuckle and couldn't help but to pat himself on the back.
Silas Cobb: "Well, I don't like to boost, but I enjoy torturing any of Cohen's errand boys before killing them myself. Always my game."
LM stood up and was a little shaky, but he kept his ground and would have to stay vigilant.
LM: "Yeah…? Well, you are making a big mistake, bud."
Cobb tilts his head and was confused about that part.
Silas Cobb: "Oh…? And what's that?"
He soon took his pistol out and pulled the trigger back to give him an imposing threat.
LM: "That I am one errand boy you shouldn't fuck with."
Silas listened to him and was silent for a brief moment. That was until he immediately burst out laughing and found his saying amusing.
Silas Cobb: "Is that right? Well, we'll see about that."
He soon popped the cap off the plasmid and lifted it over the face, pouring the contents down to his body. LM looked at him and realized what he's doing. With him weak from the after effects and Cobb dousing himself in the plasmid, he could be at a major disadvantage.
LM: "God damn it…"
Once the bottle was emptied, he could feel the rage burning into him and he responded by tossing the bottle to the ground and letting it shattered. With his fire poker out, he was ready to tear him apart.
Silas Cobb: "Now, errand boy, you die where you stand!"
He soon charged in and was going to have his way on the rebel. LM pointed his pistol and fired a few shots. But giving how weak he is, he can't aim straight and was shooting nothing but blanks. The moment Cobb got close, he tried to swing a few times right at his face and body. The rebel avoided the swipes and was looking an opening. But he soon realized that his focusing was spotty, as he couldn't slow down time to avoid it. He could still avoid the swipes, however it won't do him much. He needed to strike back now while he can. Noticing a rack with hats, he turned during dodging and kicked it down. Cobb nearly tripped and lost his balance. Seeing the opening, he struck back and landed a few punches. They were sloppy, but at least they got the job done. He soon kicked him in the chest and pushed him away. Silas immediately fall back and crashed into a few crates, feeling a little dazed. LM nearly lost his balance, but managed to stay strong and told him to stop.
LM: "Stay down! You only making it worse for yourself."
Cobb started to get up clumsily before wanting to put an end to his life.
Silas Cobb: "Oh, I'll stand down… WHEN YOU'RE DEAD!"
He charged again with his weapon up in the air. The rebel could see that and knows that it would be impossible to avoid.
LM: "Of course you would want to fight with that shit on you. Why wouldn't you?"
He soon turned around and ran, trying to get away from the psychopath. Cobb swung his fire poker around and was catching up.
Silas Cobb: "You can run all you want, errand boy! But you can never escape my wrath!"
LM noticed a dead end and had to get out of Cobb's warpath. So with little focusing he had, he jumped and ran up the wall, jumping off and flipped over him. Landing on the ground, he stumbled and got to one knee, feeling all tuckered out.
LM: "Okay… That was stupid."
A shadow soon loomed over him as he looked up to see Silas with his fire poker up in the air.
Silas Cobb: "Not as stupid as you dying by my hands, punk!"
Fearing the worse, he grabbed a nearby object and used it to block the strike. Lifting a pipe up in the air with both hands, he managed to block the stick and held on as much as possible. Course it was going to be short lived as he had little strength to hold it up. The fire poker got close to his face as Silas grinned behind his disheveled mask menacingly.
Silas Cobb: "Yes… That's it… Give up on fighting it. Accept your fate and die like the lap dog that you are. That is what you are, errand boy."
LM struggled and didn't know how to avoid this. Looking from behind, he noticed something in the distance that could help. There is a puddle that was deep enough from the sprinklers earlier. But above it, there's a lighting fixture that is dangling and sparking with an exposed wire. Seeing this, he knew what needs to be done. He looked to Cobb and decided to let him in on something.
LM: "Hate to disappoint, but I am no errand boy. I'm a black sheep!"
He soon got his body down and lifted his leg while still holding his weapon to see the fire poker out of his face. Lifting his leg up, he pushed Cobb off of him and flipped him over his body. Silas was kept off guard and he flipped around and landed right in his back. Cringing in pain, he rolled around and was going to strike back.
Silas Cobb: "Son of a bitch! That's it! I'm going to kill you nice and slowly for that!"
He struggled to get up and charged in again for the kill. But LM was ahead of him as he kicked up and turned to jumped and delivers a spinning heel kick to his face. The enraged splicer felt that and backed away, rubbing the blood of his bleeding nose. He was going to get back on track until LM jumped up and latched onto his head with his legs, delivering a serious Hurricarana to him and tossing him through a stand, smashing through a table with trinkets in the process. Getting up, he was dazed and was trying to process what happened.
Silas Cobb: "Ow… Is that all that you got, errand boy?"
LM took a heavy breather and didn't know if he has enough energy to push him to the puddle. But he has to keep on pushing or else there would be a massacre on him.
LM: "What can I say…? I'm just getting started."
The splicer went into a fearful rage and ran towards him with the fire poker swinging all over the place. With not enough focus energy left, the rebel sidestepped and dodged each swipe and looked for an opening. When he found it and double blocked with both hands and use his arms to snap the enemy's arm to an angle. The splicer felt that and screamed out in complete pain as he let go to the poker. Twisting his body, he brought Cobb down, but wanted to do more. Grabbing him by his legs, he lifted him up and went into a Cesaro swing, spinning him around for a full ten to fifteen rotations. Silas was taking for a ride and the spins almost got him sick. Once he hit the last one, he let go and send him flying to the puddle, splashing from it impact. He groaned and slowly started to get up from the dizzying effects. Getting up, he noticed the enraged gunk was slowly starting to wash away from his body. Seeing this, he looked to the rebel and wondered what he's trying to accomplish.
Silas Cobb: "What's this? That was your plan? Wash the enraged out of me? You know that I'm still dangerous even without it."
LM heard that and picked up the fire poker the splicer has dropped. Twirling it like a baton, he told him what he was really planning.
LM: "No… You're right… But you do make a really cool energy conductor."
Cobb heard that and blinked in confusion.
Silas Cobb: "Huh…? What?!"
Course, that would be his final words as the rebel twist the baton in the air and grabbed it with his fingers. He soon tossed it towards him and was flipping to his position. Almost instantly, the pointy end of the poker hit the top of his head and his neck craned up. Getting his Tommy gun out, he pointed up to the ceiling with the chandelier that has the exposed wire and fired at it. Immediately, the chandelier was dangling and the wire snapped, falling to the puddle. The moment it touched the water, it electrocuted him and was screaming in complete pain. The rebel soon got his camera out and was ready to take a picture of Cobb's electrocuted body. Just then, the chandelier started to snap and was falling right down to Silas's side. The rebel managed to take that photo of the splicers body and got the chandelier falling close to his head. Once he snapped the photo, the chandelier crashed into the splicer's head and was flatten completely. The rebel was pushed back form the impact and lay down on his back. LM lay there and was breathing heavily, after what he had to go through with Cohen's fourth apprentice.
LM: "Oh man… That was the toughest disciple ever. You would've thought that bastard could force people to kill me with that fucked up Plasmid."
He looked up to see the camera on the ground and reached his arm to pick it up. Pulling the photo out of the camera's slot, he could see what he believes to be the best death photo out there. Seeing Cobb getting electrocuted with the fire poker on his forehead and the chandelier rushing down was what could be a masterpiece in the murder museum.
LM: "I got to admit though, at least I got a really good picture out of it. It must be my best one yet."
He soon heard the speakers on the walls as Cohen's voice was through it.
Sander Cohen: "Indeed… It is in fact a masterpiece. Course not as good as my opus that needs completion."
LM heard that and looked around to see where the speakers are. But giving he's too tired from the after affects of the plasmid in his system, he gave up and lie down, responding to Cohen the best way possible.
LM: "Cohen… So you've been watching me taking on your most unstable apprentice. You could've warned me that he was extremely volatile with all that Enrage shit."
Cohen chuckled and told him that it wasn't no fun.
Sander Cohen: "That is true… But what fun is there if you spoil the surprise. After all, he was a nasty one…and my favorite. But I think I like him better that way. A picture like that is worth a thousand words. Or to poor Cobb's case, his final words. Now take his damn photo to the Atrium and place on my masterpiece. Chop, chop!"
LM groaned and tried to get up. Unfortunately, he was still weak from all that fighting and the Enraged that plagued his body. Feeling tuckered out, he told him that he needed a moment.
LM: "Yeah, yeah… I'll head back… But give me a moment to rest up. I'm already beat after that Enraged almost fucked me up and I'm too weak to get up."
There was a bit of silence on Cohen's end and the rebel wondered why he was quiet. That's when he responded in the most aggravated voice.
Sander Cohen: "Fine… Go on and rest up all you want. You're going to need that energy when facing my last target."
The speaker was cut off as the rebel sighed in relief.
LM: "Finally… I bit of a break. I thought for certain that Cohen would force me into walking with a crutch. Guess he's not all bad…"
Taking a breather, he decided to get his rest and sleep through the side effects.
LM: "Well, better get some Zs as I can. If what Cohen said is true, this last guy is going to be a dozy. Gonna need all of my strength to deal with this bastard. Wonder how the team is holding up in Arcadia. Hopefully better then me…"
He soon went to sleep, hopefully regaining his energy to prepare for the final fight. Course, while he was resting, the team's attempt to rescue him gets more complicated.
That will handle this chapter of BioTitans. Course this target was shorter then the previous ones. But LM did have his hands full with Enraged splicers and I needed to use this specific Plasmid to add more depth to the story. Don't know if anyone who never have Adam in their system would affect them, but hey, got to experiment one way or another. Better then having Cobb throwing a lot of grenades at the player, I'll tell you that. Still, one of the toughest chapters I've ever made. Let's hope the next one will be easier to manage. Speaking of which, stay tune for when the Titans reach the security override to deactivate the lockdown of the Farmers Market while facing Rapture's MVP. How will they be able to stop him? Wait and see. Please Review. #WherearetheGoodCartoons?
