On Monday Trevor is meeting Don Cragen at a coffee shop because he is going to ask him for permission to marry Olivia. Don is sat there waiting for Trevor to turn up and he is wondering why Trevor wants to speak with him. A couple of minutes later he saw Trevor walk in. "Trevor good to see you." Cragen said shaking his hand.
"Good to see you too." Trevor said taking a seat across from Cragen.
"How is everything with Olivia and you?" Cragen asked hoping everything was ok.
Trevor nodded and placed his order with the waitress then turning his attention back to Don, "Everything is perfect with Olivia and me. I'm not sure if Olivia told you or not but we're living together, we started to move some of her things to my place yesterday." Trevor said.
"Yeah she told me this morning…she really loves you Trevor." Cragen said smiling, "The last time someone asked Olivia to move in with them she broke up with them that night. So her taking this commitment with you really shows how much she loves you and wants to be with you." Cragen added.
"I was afraid she would say no when I asked her. I've wanted to ask her for a while now, but it never felt right and because we haven't been together for years and you are the only one that knows who Liv works with.. The fact that she agreed showed me that she's in this for the long haul." Trevor said receiving a nodded of agreement from Cragen. "This brings me to my reason for inviting you out for lunch…I love Olivia very much and I want to get your blessing to ask Olivia to marry me." Trevor said pulling out a black velvet box opening it to show a classic 3-stone engagement ring with cut diamonds, the middle diamond being 3 carats and the two on each side 2 carats and ten smaller diamonds going around the band.
Cragen eyes went wide upon seeing the ring, "That's a beautiful ring Trevor."
Trevor smiled glad that Cragen loved the ring.
"Olivia would love the ring. You have my blessing to ask her." Cragen said so happy that Olivia will finally get the family, her happy ever after.
Trevor smile grew, "Thank you Don, I appreciate it very much and I won't hurt her ever you have my word on that I can promise you." Trevor said glad that Don said yes.
"So when do you plan on asking her?" Don asked as their food came.
"Well I want to take her somewhere special to ask her".
Cragen says" you hurt her or cheat on her you will have me to deal with".
"Thanks Don, I just hope she says yes." Trevor said starting to get nervous
"Don't worry Trevor, Olivia will say yes. I've never seen Olivia love someone so much as she does you." Cragen said reassuring Trevor.
Trevor nodded, they ate their food in a comfortable silence, both absorbed in their own thoughts. Trevor paid for their lunch and they went their separate ways, Trevor walking with his hand in his pocket holding her ring with a smile on his face.
