Chapter Twenty-Five – Baby Love
The Sandbox
It was 6 o'clock in the morning and everyone was either still dancing around or sleeping in sprawled out huddles in the DX family room. Seth reached over and touched Sasha's pregnant stomach with his eyes still closed. He couldn't see the bright auburn hair covering her face due to the fact that Becky Lynch had fallen asleep adjacent to them, along with Alexa Bliss who had fallen asleep on Becky's side. Bianca was huddled next to Montez and Angelo, while Roman and Galina Reigns were leaning against each other propped up by one of the family room bay windows.
The DX family was in the kitchen making even more pancakes with both rosters still spreading out all over the Sandbox. The NXT roster wanted to see more of Lisa Michaels' weapons and so she gave them a tour of her arsenal while Cameron fed Faith Star in the kitchen.
After her second pancake, Faith Star pushed back in her high chair. "I've had enough," she said to her father. "Can I get down now?"
"Sure thing Faith Star," Cameron said to his baby girl and he lifted her out of the high chair and put her on the floor.
"Thanks Daddy," she said with a sweet smile and she walked to the DX family room.
Cameron went to find Lisa while Faith Star stepped towards Seth and Sasha Rollins. She stepped over their huddled bodies and knelt down by Sasha's stomach.
"It's time to meet my assignment," she said and Bianca's braid suddenly began to alight. Roman looked over and saw Bianca's braid glowing, so he reached over and gave her a light shove.
"Bianca, I think God's trying to tell you something," he said and Bianca's eyes remained shut.
"God's not trying to tell me something, He wants your attention, not mine. Go over to Seth and Sasha," Bianca told him and Roman gently lifted his arm from behind his wife and went over to Seth and Sasha.
"Call an ambulance Uncle Roman," Faith Star said to him as he came over to them.
"Call an ambulance, why?" Roman said as Faith Star pressed her baby hands onto Sasha's stomach.
"Because the baby is coming," Faith Star replied.
Roman furrowed his brow, "The baby is not coming for another two months," he said checking the calendar on his apple watch.
Sasha's eyes suddenly shot open and she sat up with a huge cry, "Seth, the baby is coming!" she cried out.
Roman couldn't believe it and he pulled Seth to his feet, "Did you hear her Seth?! The baby is coming!" he said shaking Seth back and forth.
Sasha started to rock back and forth as the birth pangs started to come, "Whoa, here we go!" she said with a smile on her face.
"I already called the ambulance," Roman said to Seth who was checking on Sasha to make sure she was okay.
"Baby, are you okay?" Seth asked her and she nodded that she was.
"Yeah baby, I'm fine. We're having a baby!" she said excitedly and Seth kissed her on the head.
"We sure are," he said helping her to her feet as the ambulance came. "Let's go Roman," Seth said to the Big Dog. "You heard my wife, we're having a baby, that means, you too Big Dog. Let's go bring your son into our world,"
Roman teared up as Seth offered him the chance to see his son come into the world.
"You sure you're okay with me coming to the hospital?" Roman asked Seth and Seth squeezed Roman's shoulder.
"We wouldn't want it any other way," he said and Roman hugged Seth gratefully.
"Thank you brother," he said emotionally as the ambulance pulled up outside the gates of the Sandbox.
Roman turned back to his wife and saw that Galina was still asleep. He tapped Becky Lynch on the shoulder, "Hey Bex, will you tell my wife I went to the hospital with Seth and Sasha?" he said to the Man.
"Why, did they beat you up or something?" Becky replied with a grin her eyes were still closed.
"No, the baby is coming," Roman said and Becky's eyes shot open.
"What?!" she said and she saw Seth, Sasha and Faith Star leaving the Sandbox together. "Bliss, wake up, Bianca, wake up. Sasha's having the baby right now!"
Becky shoved Alexa and Bianca on the shoulder as Roman left, "Becky, what is your problem?" Alexa said groggily sitting up from her huddle.
"Yeah, go back to sleep, Faith Star's got this," Bianca said hugging her sleeping husband.
"Huh?" Becky said mystified by Alexa and Bianca's casual attitude towards the imminent arrival of Abiyah Rollins.
"Faith Star is on assignment to Sasha and Abiyah Rollins, she's on duty right now, not us," Bianca explained.
"So, we don't have to go to the hospital with them?" Becky said.
"No, we've got the morning off," Bianca added. "We'll be back on duty later on,"
"Oh," Becky Lynch said and she huddled up next to Alexa and went back to sleep, "This is pretty exciting though right? Seth and Sasha are having a baby, how cool is that?"
"It's way cool," Alexa Bliss said as Becky huddled up next to her. "You know what else is cool? Having the morning off,"
"Amen to that," Bianca said and the God girls took a well-deserved rest for the first time in months.
Greenwich Memorial Hospital
Seth, Sasha and Roman arrived at the hospital with Faith Star and the doctors met Sasha at the entrance and led her to the delivery room.
"This is so exciting!" Sasha said from the wheelchair and the doctor thought she was delirious but she wasn't; she was full of laughter and joy.
"Is your wife okay Mr Rollins?" the doctor asked Seth.
"She's fine, she just really wants to see our son," Seth explained and the doctor nodded.
"You're early but not too early, the baby should be just fine," the doctor assured Seth.
"Thanks doc but I already knew that," Seth said and he checked on Roman as the doctors wheeled his wife into the delivery room. "I'm a go in with her, you okay to wait out here?" he asked Roman.
"Of course, Seth," Roman replied. "I called Dean, he's on his way right now,"
"Good," Seth said. "I'll come out and get you as soon as the baby's born,"
"See you soon," Roman said and he hugged Seth while Faith Star jumped off of his back and entered the delivery room, "Um, where is she going?" Roman said seeing Faith Star entering through the doors.
"She wants to meet her first assignment," Seth said and Roman smiled as Seth entered the delivery room.
Faith Star was wearing scrubs now, complete with protective googles and gloves. She placed herself at the foot of the bed while Seth held Sasha's hand at the top of the bed.
"Is this your little girl?" the midwife asked Sasha.
"No, she's my little angel," Sasha replied smiling at Faith Star who gave her a thumbs up.
"Looks good down here Boss," she said with her head between Sasha's legs and the midwife wasn't sure what to do, "Just do your job ma'am," Faith Star instructed her and the midwife did just that.
"I've never seen such a happy mother while giving birth," the doctor said. "Whatever you've been eating must have had a very positive effect on you,"
Seth wasn't sure what to make of that comment, could all of those DX pancakes really have been a positive influence on his wife's pregnancy? He thought. Judging from the smile on her face and the laughter coming from her lips, it was hard to attribute it to anything but Hunter, Shawn and Joanie. She was the happiest mother-to-be in the entire hospital and she was totally at peace as Abiyah Rollins came into the world.
"Whoa," the midwife said as she handed Sasha the 10 pound, half Samoan, half black and half whatever else Seth and Sasha were to the new parents. "He's a big boy, congratulations to you both,"
As the nurse cleaned Sasha and the baby, Seth went to get Roman who was waiting outside with Dean Ambrose.
"Your son is here," Seth said to Roman and Dean hugged him supportively. "Come and see him,"
Roman and Dean came into the delivery room where Sasha was having a conversation with Abiyah that was going very well.
"Yes, I love you too!" Sasha said to her son who laughed with joy.
Roman felt tense, he was going to see his son but he was scared of what might happen if Abiyah looked at him.
Seth could see that Roman was uncomfortable so he gave Abiyah to Roman to hold. "Welcome to the Shield lil man," Roman said to Abiyah as Seth and Dean encircled him and the baby.
"He's in good hands," the doctor said before leaving and he gave Faith Star a thumbs up, "good job on the delivery little girl, I think you might have just found your calling,"
Faith Star sat up on Sasha who welcomed the DX kid into her arms, "Looks like we're going to be spending a lot of time together," Sasha said to Faith Star.
"Yes Boss, Abiyah and I are going to be friends for a very long time. I'm just glad I could be here when he came into the world," Faith Star said and Sasha patted her stomach.
"I need to get this body back into shape," she said and she waved at Seth who was doting on Abiyah with Roman and Dean. "Babe, how long before I lose all this baby weight?"
"Can't talk, busy," Seth replied as the Shield had a little conference around Abiyah; he was one of the boys now.
"Great, I've already been dethroned; I'm now the second most important person in my husband's life. Thanks Abiyah!" Sasha said jokingly to her son as Faith Star helped her into the shower.
The Sandbox
Hours later, news of Seth and Sasha's new baby spread throughout the wrestling and entertainment world and the next day, the Sandbox was a child-proof nursery, filled with toys, gifts and various other goodies from family, friends, fans, associates and peers for the newest addition to the Rollins family.
Sasha and Seth left the hospital and walked into the biggest display of love they had ever seen. All eyes were on Abiyah of course but no-one said what everyone really wanted to say, which was how much Abiyah looked like Roman Reigns.
There was no denying it, even though everyone knew that Abiyah was Roman's son, cosmetically it was impossible to deny. He looked everything like Roman Reigns and it took everything the roster had not to say it out loud. Instead, the wrestlers showered Seth and Sasha with praise and love and when everyone had gone home, that was all Seth and Sasha felt: love.
"He's beautiful," Becky said to Seth and Sasha while Alexa and Bianca gushed over Abiyah.
"I'll take it from here," Faith Star said reaching for Abiyah and Sasha gave her son to LC and Cameron's baby girl, who carried him to his new nursery on the North Wing of the Sandbox. Sasha and Seth were more than happy for Faith Star to take over as the sound of Abiyah laughing echoed up the stairs all the way to where Abiyah's new nursery was located.
"We had to get that nursery up in less than a day, we had no idea that the baby would be coming so soon," Hunter said to Seth and Sasha.
"Neither did we," Seth said, "but God's timing is always perfect,"
Now that the rosters were gone, it was just the DX family, the God girls and the Shield at the Sandbox, which meant they could finally talk freely about Abiyah.
"You can drop the act now Seth," Bianca said taking Seth over to the far side of the DX family room.
"What act?" Seth said defensively.
"Oh, come on Seth, like it didn't tear you apart when you saw Abiyah's face. It was like looking into the eyes of a baby Roman Reigns. If it wasn't for the grace of God, you would have broken down in that delivery room," Bianca said. "I can't even imagine how hard that was for you,"
"Why don't you tell me the reason why Abiyah came two months early?" Seth asked Bianca.
"Because if God waited until Sasha's due date, Faith Star wouldn't have been there to keep Sasha's faith up. God told Sasha that her delivery would be pain free and it was, wasn't it?" Bianca said.
"Yes, it was, for her," Seth replied.
"But not for you," Bianca asked.
"No, it wasn't but Abiyah's here now and we're all on the same page. Faith Star is amazing, I'm so glad she's a part of this, I hope her parents don't mind," Seth said.
"Mind? No, they insist on being here to support you. The entire DX family is here for you Seth, so you need to stop pushing them away. They are going to make things so much easier for you, so please embrace them. Becky, Bliss and I are going to be busy doing other things, so you won't be able to count on us to help you though all this new baby stuff," Bianca said and Seth raised his eyebrow at his Treasurer of Secrets.
"What stuff has God got for you three to work on that I don't know about?" Seth asked her.
"You do not want to know. If I were you, I'd take a page out of Sasha's book and indulge in the love and affection of the DX family," Bianca assured Seth and she squeezed his shoulder lovingly, "go have a pancake,"
Seth looked at Bianca suspiciously, "Whatever you're not telling me, I want a full debrief of what you guys are up to in the morning. Just because I'm a Shield Dad now, that doesn't mean I'm about to back off being your mentor. I'm still a part of this group," Seth assured Bianca. "You can't keep anything from me E S T, remember you're sworn by God to tell me everything,"
Bianca nodded, "Yes I know and I will tell you everything in the morning, okay?" she assured Seth.
"Okay," Seth replied and he kissed her on the forehead before leaving to find Sasha, Roman and Dean who were having pancakes in the kitchen with the DX family.
Becky and Alexa came over to Bianca whose braid was heavy with the weight of the information God had given her about Bayley.
"You didn't tell him, did you?" Becky asked her and Bianca shook her head.
"No, I couldn't tell him, not yet," Bianca said. "He's onto me though, he always knows when I'm not telling him something. I won't be able to keep this a secret for long,"
Becky nodded, "Maybe if we could keep him in the dark for a little bit longer, he wouldn't have to know what's about to go down," she said.
"Yeah, but how do we do that?" Bianca asked her and Becky gave Alexa a knowing look.
"You want me to use Beauty Sleep on Seth?!" Alexa asked Becky.
"Just for awhile, it'll give us enough time to deal with this and when he wakes up, we can tell him everything. I just don't see what good could come of telling him about this now," Becky said.
"I don't know Bex, he could get mad at me if he finds out we went behind his back and took on this assignment without his knowledge," Alexa said and Bianca nodded.
"Hey guys, I hate to break it to you, but Seth has other things on his mind right now. We have got to take the initiative here, if we tell him what we know, it'll ruin Sasha's good mood and that'll just make things worse for everyone. We need to keep the Rollins family sweet. It's like my Ma always says, what you don't know, can't hurt you," Becky argued.
"Well, that's not what the Bible says Becky and I am bound by God to tell Seth everything that God tells me. I can't keep him in the dark and Alexa can't put him to sleep, we have to be upfront with him about this. As much as it sucks, we have to tell Seth what Bayley is about to do to get that ring from Sasha," Bianca said. "Once Bayley gets that ring, she'll take ownership of the DX family jewels. She will not only be able to destroy Seth and Sasha's marriage but she will also be able to destroy the entire DX family,"
Becky sighed heavily, "He's not going to like it," she said shaking her head.
"No, he isn't but he still has to know," Bianca said and the God girls hugged each other while watching Seth and Sasha celebrating in the DX kitchen, unaware of the darkness that was about to invade their beautiful lives once again.
