Love Me Tender:

Free to Love Again

ABOARD THE SANCTA HELENA

"You need to leave now my dear, your eldest brother will definitely be coming here tonight, gather your things quickly," Alexander clutched small hands within his own giving them a comforting squeeze.

"Father please, I can help, I am strong enough! I don't want to lose you too," a petite, short Asian woman pleaded with the older male.

One would never guess while looking at the two that they were related. Their only shared features were their pale, blue eyes they both bore. Her mother's physical genetic markers dominated her face, but in her genetic code is where her father's genetic markers truly dominated her being. Kagome Higurashi-Corvinus, the only daughter of Alexander Corvinus and last of his direct children. A one-off drunken dalliance forty years prior had unknowingly gifted the immortal ex-warlord with a daughter.

Alexander had never cared for Kagome's mother, rather while in Tokyo, Japan forty years ago he had gone to a high-end bar to drink in honor of his beloved wife's death anniversary. There he had met Yumiko Higurashi and to his drunk mind she had a few similarities to his wife and they spent a night together. His only slip up in his millennia-long dedication to his Helena. He wouldn't have even known of his daughter's existence if it had not been for a werewolf attack twenty years ago in Tokyo, Japan. An attack that just so happened to occur on a shrine owned by the same Japanese woman he had slept with. The family had been massacred except for the daughter who killed the wereworld with the most unlikely weapon. A bow and arrow—not even a silver arrow, but an ordinary steel-tipped arrow.

Naturally his men had brought her in and it was only as he was looking over the information his subordinated had pulled on the woman that he realized who her mother was. Her age lining up with that one night. Never one to ignore his suspicions a DNA test was performed and it confirmed his suspicions that she was his child.

With her family gone and filled with a sense of duty he took her in.

If the DNA test hadn't proved she was his daughter, then the fact that she had not aged in the past twenty years since finding her cemented their blood relation. His daughter was different from his two sons, both darkened souls and creatures of the night. While his daughter was the essence of everything pure and right in the world. And she possessed an ability that surely could turn the tide of the battle that was inevitably coming his way.

But for once he chose to be a father first.

And the chance that she couldn't kill her half brother, or he killed her before she could strike out against him was too great a risk.

"I've already arranged for my finances to be transferred to your accounts. Take care Kagome, and continue our work after I am gone."

He motioned for his bodyguards to get her out of there.

Kagome sobbed, but knew she had little choice in the matter and could only turn and follow after them pausing at the door only to utter her last words to the man who had helped in conceiving her and trained her these past two decades.

"Goodbye father. I will fulfil my duty to the family….I-I love you."

She left with tears running down her face,

When she went to her room she saw her things had already been packed up. Her guards took them out of the room, while she looked over to make sure nothing had been missed. When she stepped in the hall she overheard one of her father's private soldiers saying the death dealer Selene was being escorted to her father's office.

Her fists balled up as she felt her anger well up that she was being sent away like some weak little girl. But there would be no changing her father's mind. Instead she raced down to the morgue on the ship.

There she saw the body she was looking for.

She hadn't told her father about this gift, or as he would see it.

Her curse.

After all, didn't all of the direct members of the Corvinus line have some type of curse.

Her eldest brother could turn humans to vampires.

Her second brother's bite and blood could turn humans into killer werewolves.

And her bite and blood could...well make zombies.

Well not zombies, as the ones she had revived didn't have a craving for brains, but they were neither dead nor fully alive and none of them could disobey her.

She herself had only discovered it by accident ten years ago while out on a mission in the dense forests of Germany to take care of rogue, rabid werewolves. When they had split up six going after the majority, with only two on her team to take out the one that had already been injured by them. Of course the two cocky soldiers had overestimated the injury they'd inflicted on the werewolf and weren't prepared for it to strike out and rip one of the men's throat out while the other soldier threw himself in front of her when he turned his sights on her, believing her to be the weaker of the group. Both had been nicked, his worse since he'd taken the brunt of the attack.

Thankfully by doing so, it gave her enough time to take the werewolf out, but the damage was done. She sat there kneeling over the male who'd given his life for hers, when the blood running down her arm from the slight scratch touched his wounds. She'd gotten up and checked on the other soldier, but he'd already died drowned in his own blood. She ran and went to go catch up with the rest of the team to finish off the rest of the rabid creatures. It wasn't until an hour later as she was headed back to collect their dog tags that she felt a pull and when she entered the forest clearing it was to two dead bodies. Instead both soldiers were standing there looking perfectly healthy and alive, of course she'd freaked out knowing they had been dead and couldn't have been changed into werewolves. And the pull only got stronger the closer she came towards them.

And when both of them looked at her it was with a look of reverence. Of course, she knew how both vampires and werewolves had been created so perhaps this was her power. She told them not to tell anyone what happened and she swore it was like a light passed over them when she uttered those words.

And they immediately obeyed and she could feel their loyalty to her now ingrained in their DNA.

Since then she had had two other opportunities to test it out and both were the same. Even now, those same soldiers despite working for her father were only loyal to her. She could even summon them to her with a single thought. And right now she was about to use her gift on someone she wasn't sure it would work on, but if it did would bring a powerful ally to her side.

Lucian.

Progenitor of the lycan, after being born to a woman who'd been heavily pregnant when she was turned by a werewolf centuries ago. Why her father had collected the body she was unsure of, but she knew her father didn't plan on leaving this ship alive and would blow it up, thus she figured he wouldn't need the dead lycan's body anymore.

Two of her zombie soldiers appeared through the doorway.

"You called for us, my lady."

She smiled, "Yes, bring him," she motioned towards the body before turning and heading out the door knowing they would follow her order at once and off the ship towards the SUV that was ready and already running. Another one of her soldiers was there and opened the door for and she slid into the backseat. She turned her head as they placed the body bag with Lucian in the back of the the seats already laid down for his body. The peels out minutes later with her other two soldiers getting in another SUV. They were barely minutes down the road away from the port when she heard the explosion.

Her head whipping back to see the fiery inferno behind her.

Kagome's fingers dug into her the palms of her hand so strongly it drew blood as she committed the sight to memory.

She would make sure to finish her father's work, this she solemnly promised. Even if she had to create a new army to do it.

Turning over her bloody palm she reached into the back to unzip the top part of the body bag revealing Lucian's face and squeezed her bloody hand, blood dripping into Lucian's open mouth before she righted herself in the seat and held out her hand. One of her soldiers in the passenger seat immediately cleaned the wound and wrapped it with bandages.

~oOo~

Four hours later, black eyes with a ring of blue and pink surrounding it snapped open foggy, before sharpening into focus.

Sitting up, Lucian glanced around his surroundings. Noting a small window that looked like it belonged on an airplane. Inhaling, he took in the scents around him as his ears perked up listening for sounds around him. He could hear the engine of the private he was obviously riding in. Could smell and hear six heartbeats outside of the cabin, but they were not lycans nor did they smell all that human. It was different, they smelled like...he sniffed and suddenly swiftly turned his head to the right almost giving himself whiplash, his eyes widening at a woman lying upright next to him on top of the covers. Her body was curled towards him and he realized when he had sat up her slim had that was covered in bloody bandages must have been in his at one point.

And suddenly this foreign feeling he couldn't explain, but had been pulling him from his dark slumber ended with her. As he breathed in her scent he realized that the beings outside of the cabin all smelled slightly of her. And what a heady scent it was. Intoxicatingly sweet and alluring. She had long ebony tresses that ended near her calves, thick dark eyes lashes, a heart-shaped face with a pert button nose. Pouty pink lips that were stained red in the middle from what looked like her biting her lip too hard.

Something about seeing her bandaged hand and wounded lip caused irrational anger to bubble up inside at the thought of her being injured in the slightest. 'She is to be kept safe always.' That thought felt right inside him and yet wholly weird for some reason. Why was he feeling this way, he definitely did not know this woman. And yet, she felt like she was his everything.

He shook his head.

Only one woman had been his everything.

'Sonja.'

Victor's own daughter and he had killed her. But he's dead now. Dead at the hands of the vampress who looked and acted so much like his own beloved Sonja, even falling for the hybrid Michael. Now as he thought of them more, his brows furrowed as he remembered his last moments. He was sure he had been dead too.

So how was he alive now.

As he thought it, his eyes were drawn back to the woman still sleeping next to him. A rumble came from his chest at the sight of tears brimming at her closed eyes and the scent of sadness tinging her alluring scent. For some reason this too displeased him, that she should feel sadness.

He wanted—no neededher only to know happiness and live well all of her days. The rumbling in his chest grew as more tears seemed to fall and he reached out to wipe them away from her cheeks. And when he touched her it was like powerful bolts of power arched over his body and it felt exhilarating.

Just then her eyes snapped and haunting pale, sky blue eyes met his own.

And the smile that crested her lips revitalized him, as well as brought out something possessive from his inner werewolf. He wished for her to only smile at him and no other. To gaze upon him with such splendor and happiness for the rest of his days. Craved it more than air itself.

"Finally, you're awake," she whispered, slowly rising with a little difficulty and he immediately helped her to rest against the pillows, just as the cabin door opened and in walked a male dressed in all black tactical gear and there was concern in his eyes..

"My lady, are you alright?"

A growl rose from his chest, but a light touch on his arm had him ceasing his protective instinct, just as he felt something in his head state that the male was trustworthy and not a threat to her.

"Humph, don't growl at me wolf. My lady is so weak from bringing your hairy ass back from the grave," the male said before his attention was inevitably drawn back to the woman at Lucian's side with a frown on his face. "You used too much blood reviving him," he stated, drawing closer with a cleaning wipe.

She took it and wiped the crusted blood from her lips.

Shaking her head, "It's fine, it was necessary. He is the father of the lycan race and was dead much longer than you all had been. But I am sure he is confused and hungry, please bring Lucian some clothes and food, as well as tell the others to prepare to head straight for the compound in Vienna Peter."

The male known as Peter nodded his head, "Of course, my lady it shall be done." He left, closing the cabin door behind him, leaving the two of them alone once more.

"Why?"

Kagome looked at him, then looked out the plane window.

"They woke Marcus up and with Victor dead he means to wake up William, the first werewolf. Currently, the death dealer known as Selene and Michael should be arriving at the castle where William was long ago imprisoned along with some of my father's soldiers. Apparently before my father was killed by Marcus he gave his blood to her, so she will be stronger for sure, but that only helps to even their odds," she informed him of the information she had been apprised of before she'd fallen into a light name after given the lycan a direct infusion of her blood and even going as far as to bite the dead lycan.

"And who is your father, that he could help Selene become enough to face off against the father of vampires on equal footing?"

She glanced at him with a bittersweet look on her face.

"You know him well, Alexander Corvinus, father of all immortals. Just as Marcus and William are my older half brothers."

His brows rose in surprise, he had been tracking the Corvinus line for a long time in hopes of creating hybrids and here sitting beside him was the immediate daughter of the head of the line. "And I assume it's because of his blood that you were able to revive me."

Kagome nodded, "Yes, it is my gift, or curse if you will. My blood and bite are capable of raising the dead back and whether it is a safety measure or not they will feel immense loyalty to me."

His hands tightened into fists, "So I receive life in exchange for my free will. Is this why I feel so drawn to you? Why I feel like I can't breath unless you are safe and protected? Why I crave to possess you in all ways and feel you over and under me? Why when only one woman has dominated my heart, now seems minuscule when compared to the weight of you there? Why even now when I should be righteously angry I feel only elation and perverse pleasure at the thought of belonging to only you?"

Kagome blinked in surprise, then blushed like a cherry tomato and his eyes immediately followed how far down it went from her cheeks to the top of her well-endowed chest.

"Nani, n-no. No definitely it is not like that I-I would never" she waved a hand in front of her, just as the male from before came into the room as if summoned. Kagome had done thorough questions with those she'd revived and they had never reported feeling like this ever.

"My lady?"

Kagome looked at Peter and asked him if he felt as Lucian did, describing how he felt blushing as she said it just as he had. Even Peter looked taken back at what she said.

He shook his head, "My lady, while I will admit I do feel the need to ensure you're safe and protected. I do not feel the possessiveness he seems to be experiencing. And as you know I can sense when you need something, or are in danger, but my thoughts are my own and as for any carnal desires I have none, as you know I have a wife who I love and adore. Perhaps, we do feel a bit of elation when we know that we have done something to please you, but it is not something overly so that will make us into mindless slaves."

Kagome felt immense relief, but anxious too. 'Why is Lucian feeling that way?'

"Perhaps, my lady, it may be due to his lycan nature. You have only ever revived humans before and given his animalistic nature it could be possible that the feelings he possesses are due to having a stronger pack mentality and may see you as his alpha bitch, or the hive bond that is formed when you revive one us has been magnified in him. Of course, we would have to try reviving another werewolf to test the theory," Peter gave his opinion, but it didn't make her feel any better.

Turning to Lucian, she looked so distraught and he could only curse as he felt overwhelming guilt that he caused that look on her face.

"I am so sorry, I didn't mean to cause you to feel this way. Why I revived you, I wanted you as a powerful and loyal ally to have on my side not some overpowered sex slave. I mean I—Oh kami-sama! I could never, I mean I'm a forty year old virgin for crying out loud what would my departed mother think of me starting a zombie lycan sex cult," her hands came up to cover her blushing face.

Peter's eyes widened, as he coughed and excused himself from the room leaving the two alone to sort whatever this was out.

Lucian should feel bad that he caused her to feel this way, when it was obvious she didn't want this to happen. But inside that possessive animalistic feeling had jumped on the whole forty year old virgin part. 'She is untouched.' Possessive satisfaction settled in his gut and lower in his loins. But the notion of sharing her with any other werewolf is totally unacceptable.

He hadn't even realized he'd dragged and had her snug against him purring so she let out a little squeak, uttering one word. "Mine."

Kagome was stammering and blushing, really unsure of just what she had gotten herself into. But she couldn't say she didn't find the lycan handsome and that him holding her like this was pretty nice too. Still definitely shouldn't be doing this till she knew what exactly had happened to cause these feelings of his. She squirmed and tried to push away, but he only brought her closer and brought his head down to her neck and did the last thing she expected. He licked her.

It should have grossed her out, but surprisingly it felt good, a little too good.

"L-lucian! What are you doing?"

He simply nuzzled her neck, "Scenting marking you, as you have done to me," he murmurs hotly against her neck.

"Wha—I never scent marked!"

He pulled back to gaze down at her, his instincts were going haywire right now, but he could scent her arousal underneath her embarrassment. It was like ambrosia to him. Peter thought she might be his alpha bitch, but he knew deep down she is his alpha bitch, "You have, just like the rest of those men out there that you have revived. They all carry your scent, including me. Thus you have scent marked me and I shall return the favor. As I smell of you, all shall smell me on you. There will be no lycan sex cult, I will be your first and your last, as you shall be my last, my virginal alpha bitch," he rumbled out the last bit close to her ear sending a shiver down her spine.

'Kami-sama what did I do?!'
