Ganyu jumped over the barricade, thought it wasn't that tall so she had no difficulty doing so. Her Vision was on her, visible to everyone. It was glowing with life.
"Come on, let's get going." Gladion said to her. She nodded her head, following him out of Po Town.
She looked up at the night sky. She didn't know her whole life could change in one day. But here she was. New world and a new lifestyle.
"Are you looking at the stars?"
She jumped, startled. "Yes, I am..." She said, changing from her mood instantly.
"Huh. Do you know you're out here tonight with me?" He asked her.
She shook her head. "Of course not."
"You're here to caught a Pokemon, and Guzma doesn't want you to get stuck with the standard Team Skull Pokemon. If he hadn't told me about your Vision, I wouldn't be here." He explained to the adeptus.
"Oh I see. Is this because of the...incident?"
Gladion turned cold. Even if he was wearing a sweater, that single sentence spooked him. That morning, he couldn't get a single call out of Lillie. He feared the worst for her.
"Gladion."
He should have called in to make sure she was alright.
"GLADION!"
He jumps back to life, Ganyu is in front of him, shaking his shoulders. He pushed her slightly, to get away from her. "It's nothing." He states.
"Are you sure? You were zoning out there for a bit." She says.
"I'm fine." He scoffs. "We're about to enter Route 17 once we're out here." He said, the automatic door opened immediately in front of him and her. "Be careful." He advised her.
"Right."
Gosh, she wished she had a umbrella right now. It was raining, and she was getting it all over herself. Meanwhile, Gladion put on his hoodie.
He reached into his pockets, and pulled out a Pokeball. He threw it and out came his Silvally. She looked at it in awe, the Pokemon looked back at her.
"Do you know what this Pokemon is called?" He asked her, crossing his arms.
"No I don't."
"It's called Silvally, and he has been with me since the beginning. I trust he'll keep his safe in case wild Pokemon attack." He explained to her.
"Okay, right!" She threw a thumbs up, smiling.
"The hells going on here?"
The door to the police station opened, and a man walked outside. The lamp street showed his face, and she wondered if he had gotten any sleep. But Gladion was unfazed by him.
"Hello Nanu." He greeted him.
"What are you doing so late up kid? And who's this?" He walked over to the duo and pointed at Ganyu.
"I am Ganyu. It's a pleasure to meet you sir." She reached her hand out to him in a friendly matter.
"Ganyu, eh? Never heard anyone with a name like that, where did you find her? Is she with Team Skull?" He kept on asking questions.
"Guzma said she fell out of a Ultra Wormhole."
In that split second, she could have sworn Nanu looked scared. Frightened and remined of something.
"As for where she came from, she came from some place called Liyue." The boy kept on going.
"...Liyue?" The man shifted his eyes to her.
"Yes. I am from Liyue. A harbor that lies in the east of Teyvat, the city was established 3,700 years ago by Rex Lapis through a contract." She nodded her head.
Gladion blinked at her. "Who is Rex Lapis-"
"Don't question it." Nanu interrupted him, making the boy stop. "So what are you doing so late up in this hour?"
Ganyu had never seen so many Meowth's in one room before. Was this Nanu's police station, where he worked at? "Excuse me, Nanu sir, how can you get anything do here?" She asked, watching her steps as she walked through the place.
"What do you mean by that?" He turned to her.
"These Pokemon are all over the place, making your work difficult to work with. Doesn't it get ignoring sometimes?" She explained.
"No. It doesn't, in fact I don't even do much nowadays. And you should be more respectful of the Island Kahuna."
She halted, realizing her mistake. "Oh my apologies, sir!" She apologized to him, bowing to him. He turned, staring at her.
"I was just teasing you, don't take it personally." He explained to her.
"..." She got up from her position, her face a bit red.
"Something tells me you're not used to this huh."
"Of course not."
Nanu sat down at a table full of Meowths, she joined him sitting across from him. Some of the Meowths gave her a death glare, some even hissing at her.
"...Do you have names for them all?" She asked her, her eyes full of curiosity.
"Yeah, I do and they all have one thing in common; they're troublemakers." Shrugging his shoulders.
"That's amazing!" She shouted, smiling.
"...Eh?"
"Back in Liyue, I named all the dogs! Every single one!"
Tonight was going to be long.
Silvally bite down hard on a Scraggy's neck, making the small Pokemon faint to the ground. Gladion pondered around, as the rain poured down.
"I didn't need today to happen at all!" He shouted out, his voice getting drowned out by the rain. "First, Lillie isn't answering my calls! Then I get stuck with Ganyu, a 'Magic User'!" He shouts out again. His Pokemon looks at him, slowly walking over to him. It softly bites his arm, making the boy look at him.
"I-I...have a bad feeling about this. Mother was researching those Ultra Beasts, and..."
He didn't want to remember those moments. Where his mother didn't seem like his mother at all. Her crazed obsession.
"How did Ganyu get here if there's no access to Ultra Wormholes?"
Silvally's eyes shifted to a small white tail hidden in the grass. Gladion covered his ears, ignoring his Silvally's attacks at the wild Pokemon. Until he felt a nudge, he looked and saw his Pokemon holding a Alolan Vulpix by its tail.
"Ganyu does seem like the type to have Ice types." He said to himself, putting the wild Pokemon into a Pokeball. It dinged, and he put it into his pockets. "Come on, let's go back." He said to his Silvally.
He opened the door, and let out a squeal. Inside, Ganyu was carrying 20 Meowths with ease too. "I'm thinking of giving all of these a name! Can I?" She turned to Nanu.
"I would say no, but go for it." He advised her.
"Great! Oh, Gladion! You're back!" She turned to his direction, greeting him.
"I uh see you're doing well with Nanu." He said to himself. He reached into his pocket, and pulled out a Pokeball. She looked at it, with curiosity, walking over to him.
She grabbed it and let out the Pokemon inside. The Vulpix looked at her, tilting its head at her.
"Consider it your first Pokemon." He said to her.
"You got her a Alolan Vulpix?" Nanu said from across the room.
"...Thank you Gladion!" She accepted his gift, placing the Pokemon on her head.
"Maybe you shouldn't-"
"Just let her do what she wants, if it's not hurting the Pokemon!"
"I'm going to name it once we get back to the house!" She said.
"That being said, we should go now. It's getting late and wild Pokemon can attack us." He said.
"Oh right."
"Wait Ganyu, come over here for a sec."
The two turned to Nanu, the man was playing with the Meowths now. Gladion just left out a sigh, and opened the door, leaving. She walked over to the police man.
"I just want to say, don't draw attention to yourself and don't get yourself killed here. Please."
"...I'll keep that in mind."
