A/N: The way the timeline works doesn't really allow for summer vacations so I'm just gonna say they all moved up a grade.

August 3rd Mission Creek High School (Maddie's POV)-

We were in the school hallway and for whatever reason Chase had challenged Adam to an arm wrestling match. Leo and I were trying to convince him not to do it.

"Chase, there's no way you can beat Adam arm-wrestling." Leo tried. "It'd be like a chicken wrestling an alligator. All we hear is a cock-a-doodle crunch."

"Chase, honey, I love you but no one could beat Adam. I could count on one hand the people I have met that have strength anywhere near Adam's."

"They're right, bro. Your spaghetti arms are no match for these meatballs." Adam kissed each and everyone of his muscles.

"Hey... When you're done kissing your girlfriends, let's do this." The brothers moved their hands getting into position.

"Or maybe you come to kiss your girlfriend." I tried and he sent me a wink.

"Better back up, Maddie. You're in the splatter zone." Bree laughed, pulling me back a step.

"Okay, I want a clean match. No whining, screaming, crying, or tap-outs. I'm looking at you Chase." Chase scoffed. "Three, two, one, go!"

He licked the palm of his hand before locking it with Adam's before slamming it down winning the competition. Adam groaned in disgust.

"Ugh! Hey! No fair! He licked his hand!" I had to admit it was a smart play.

"Exactly. Clever beats strong any day." He smiled.

"Chase wins." Leo raised his hand in celebration. "Wait, which hand did you lick?"

"That one." Leo dropped said hand moving to lift the opposite one.

"Mmm. Chase wins." He dropped his hand whipping his hand clean.

"Nice job baby." I hugged his side and he threw his arm over my shoulder.

"Hey guys, how's it going?" Marcus said as he joined us. How did no one notice how he was gone for a whole month.

"Ooh, bundle up, everyone. It just got partly creepy with a hundred percent chance of annoying." Leo said with a voice dripping with sarcasm.

"Oof. Am I gonna need my umbrella for that?" Adam asked.

"So, you guys wanna hang out at my house after school? We just got a sick new flat screen." Marcus offered. I needed to be nicer to him so I could gain some trust with him. He did attack me when I was with Leo but he still liked me more.

"Is it as sick as you make me? 'Cause that'd be pretty sick." Leo grinned.

"Don't be mean Leo." I broke away from Chase and Marcus's eyes followed.

"We'd love to hang out today." Chase answered. How could the smartest man in the world be so oblivious.

"Chase is too polite to say it, so I'll say it for him. You're a lunatic, and we're leaving." Leo push all four of us towards the door.

"Leo!" "Leo, come on." "Leo, I was not gonna say that at all." They protested as Leo push us further.

"Yeah, and we're walking. Go. Go on. Go. Out." He got the three of them outside before turning back to Marcus. "Nice try. See you later, Captain eyebrow."

"Captain Eyebrow?" he shrugged and we moved to walk out before the door closed on us.

"What the...? How did you...?" We turned to find Marcus behind us controlling the door.

"Chase isn't the only one who can move things with his mind." He supplied.

"Help! Somebody! We're trapped! Principal Perry?!" Leo shirked slamming on all the doors.

"Who are you kidding? She's not here. It's five-cent-rib night at the Buffalo Barn." I huffed not taking my eyes off of Marcus.

"Looks like it's just you and me. Man, it is fun to mess with you two when you can't tell anyone I'm bionic." Marcus mused with a voice full of mirth.

"Yeah, it's a real party over here, too. I should just turn you in." Leo decided.

"Go ahead. Then I'll expose Adam, Bree, and Chase's bionics and the government will swoop in and take them away." By now I had moved to the side of Marcus ready to attack if needed.

"Not if I turn you in first." For whatever reason Leo ran towards the locked doors trying to get out. As he turned his back Marcus lifted a trash can ready to launch it at Leo.

I had to step in now. I ran towards Marcus Kicking him in the stomach but it just hurt my foot. Okay now I know he has super strength. I tried a different approach before he could push me away, something I use on Adam. I gripped his outstretched arm stepping off his chest ans swinging around him to wrap my legs around his neck. My weight and the shift of his position caused him to lose balance and stumble forward as I flipped off of him.

Now I needed to make sure he'd fight me without his bionics. "Huh I would've thought someone like you could fight without using your bionics as a crutch. Guess not." I laughed.

"That's it." He lost his cool and charged at me.

I could feel from his blow he was using a bit of super strength but now it was hand to hand. With his attacks it was easy to see he didn't have much training and mainly relied on strength. I would dodge, duck, and twist around most of his attacks, placing my own here and there but he eventually caught me pulling me into a headlock.

"You still think I need my bionics to crush you?" he asked maliciously.

"Absolutely." I slammed my foot down on his instep and My head back to collide with his and his grip faltered for a second. That was enough for me to grab his arm flipping him over my shoulder.

"You know what? I think you're right I do need bionics." He groaned getting up off the floor. "Good thing I have them."

I was already exhausted from fighting him and wasn't able to put in much more. I already had a busted lip plus a few extra bruises from his successful hits. He launched a plasma grenade at me, slamming me into the wall. All I saw was his figure moving closer as the world went dark.

. . .

I woke up in bounds, tied to a metal chair. My torso, arms and hands were completely tied down making it impossible for me to break free. Marcus was on the phone with someone on the other side of the room. "...when I capture Adam, Bree, and Chase. Fine, when we capture them. Just like when we forgot my birthday. Oh, I'm sorry. Are you angry or are we angry?" He stormed off.

"What is this place?" Leo wandered into the room.

"Leo?! What are you doing here?" I whisper yelled.

"Maddie?! I followed Marcus to get some proof... and save you of course." He added.

"You didn't even know I was missing." I rolled my eyes.

"No I did not." He answered.

"Just untie my hands and feet. Quickly before Marcus gets back." He moved to my hands first, stumbling a bit but eventually the ropes fell limp and slid off of me.

As he moved to my feet I popped my shoulder out of it's socket to remove my arms from the ropes. "Ugh! Did you just pop your shoulder out?" He said horrified.

"Yeah now hurry up. Marcus could be back any second." I removed my arms from their holding place and started to untie my upper body. "Leave the ropes on top of my feet when you're done."

He finished and began moving around collecting pictures of the lair, not realizing Marcus had come back. "Bam. Evil lair. Bam. Marcus's capsule. Bam. Marcus. MARCUS?!"

"You shouldn't have come here, Leo." I needed to wait for the right moment to make a move.

"I couldn't agree more. Where's the exit?" Leo tried.

"Oh, no. You are not going anywhere. You've seen too much." Marcus answered.

"What do you want with Adam, Bree, and Chase?" Leo fought.

"You won't be around to find out. Say hello to our remote-controlled home-security system." Marcus hit a button and the floor opened to reveal something that looked like a gigantic vacuum cleaner.

"Well that looks effective. What's it scanning for? Dust bunnies?" Leo laughed. Marcus hit a second button activating the transformation.

The bot turned into an even large robot that stood at least eighteen feet tall. "How big are your dust bunnies?!"

Leo definitely needed my help now so I removed my bonds and moved behind Marcus trying to use the element of surprise.

"That's not gonna work this time, Madds." He said as he caught my kick mid air.

"No. You don't get to call me Madds." I ripped my leg away from his grip only to have my arms be captured. I struggled and fought but his hold never waivered.

Leo screamed as he ran away from the robot "You're quicker than I thought. Good thing I added this."

Marcus hit the remote once again holding both of my arms with one of his. The robot began to fire blasts at Leo and he ran.

"Oh! Okay!" Leo dodged one close hit before running to the desk and grabbing a stapler. "Aha. I have a weapon, now, too."

"That's a stapler." Marcus corrected.

"So it is." Leo put it back. That was still dumb you could use a stapler as a weapon it was better than nothing at all.

"Just kidding. It's a ray gun." Marcus said grabbing it and shooting at Leo.

"Dang it!" Leo yelled as he ducked once again. But being Leo he tripped falling flat on his face. The robot picked Leo up by the back of his shirt and held him in front of Marcus.

"Game over, Leo. You're no match for my robot's awesome physical strength." Leo kicked the air around him trying to escape.

"Let go of me!" Marcus's grip tightened on me.

"Only Maddie can decide that." This confused me. "You can leave if she decides to stay, of her own free will of course. Either that or I finally get rid of you like the pest you are."

"I'll stay. Just let go of Leo." I decided.

"Maddie no. Please don't." Leo fought as the robot started taking him outside.

"It was her choice Leo." Marcus said as Leo was thrown out. "Now time for some fun."

Davenport House (Leo's POV)-

I heard talking in the lab as I ran down to find everyone. "An apology. So I guess I'll start off by saying... that I... am-"

"I'm back!" I ran in.

"Oh, thank you!" Chase said in relief.

"Maddie needs help! Marcus captured her!" By the looks on their faces I could tell they didn't believe me.

"Leo Maddie is completely fine. She just texted me that she was staying home tonight because she is tired." Chase showed me his phone proving his point.

"That can't be... Marcus just took her, there's no way she could have escaped. Marcus probably wrote this so you wouldn't believe me. " That's the only thing that made sense.

"Leo, you have to understand how crazy you sound." Bree laughed.

"You have to believe me there was a secret door with an electric pad and a giant robot!" I exclaimed but they just laughed.

"Fine. If you don't believe me I'll show you. Come on." I got them to follow me out.

. . .

"You guys don't understand. This barbecue had a touch pad in it." How could this change.

"Leo... are you sure you weren't at the A.T.M. outside the Chicken Shack?" Big D laughed.

"Don't you take that 'Leo's got a wild imagination' tone with me. The touchpad controlled that dissolving wall." The more I said it, the harder it was to believe myself.

Chase laughed. "Oh, right. And then all the little elves came out and did a moon dance around the bonfire."

"I'm telling the truth." I groaned.

"I believe you, Leo. I also believe that we, as a family, are going to get you the help you so desperately need." Bree said with no sincerity.

"You guys don't understand! Marcus and his father have a secret lair!" I pushed.

"Okay, guys, are we roasting weenies or not?!" Adam asked.

"Come on, guys. Let's go." Chase started walking off and everyone followed.

"Don't leave." I tried. "I'm telling the truth!"

Davenport Lab (Chase's POV)-

I was getting ready to turn in for the night when my phone rang. It was Maddie.

"Hey Madds. You won't believe the story Leo was telling today." I laughed, she was gonna love this.

"Uh I actually need to talk to you about something important." Her voice sounded heavy like she had been crying.

"Madds, what's wrong?" Maddie hardly ever cried so something was definitely wrong.

"I'm d- done. I don't want to be to- together anymore." She stumbled through her words.

"What do you mean?" Why would she be doing this? I thought everything was going great.

"I don't love you Chase. Don't call again." Her voice stabilized before she hung up.

Within two minutes the most important relationship of my life was done. I could barely even tell what happened, my phone slipped from my hand clattering to the floor. All the noise around me dulled and my head felt like it was underwater.

"Hey man you okay?" Someone pushed my shoulder trying to pull me from my daze.

"She dumped me." As the words fell from my lips my heart shattered. "Why would she do that?"

"What do you mean?" It was Leo.

"You said Marcus took Maddie?" I asked trying to find a reason for any of this.

"Yeah. He told Maddie if she chose to stay he would let me leave alive."

"We need to save Maddie." Leo was right. Maddie had to be in trouble.

"You believe me?" Leo asked.

"I have to." I needed to find everyone.
