The man and the Best Friend Squad regarded each other for a beat.
Then the man and Adora simultaneously broke into identical high pitched screams.
As one they screamed again, pointing at the old portrait.
"My sister" the man whispered.
"I have a brother?" Adora clutched her head, her eyes wide.
Bow gasped, his eyes sparkling "Two Adoras" he whispered
Glimmer rolled her eyes and Catra snorted.
"We barely survived one" Catra snarked.
The man's beast and Melog were circling each other, growling lowly.
"Cringer down" the man said sharply. Cringer heeled.
"Melog, here boy" catra called, patting her knees.
"Mrr" Melog went to Catra and rubbed against her leg.
"I'm called Adam" the man said.
"Adora"
Adam looked up at their baby selves, held so protectively by their mother and father.
"Our parents were King Randor and Queen Marlena"
Bow gasped "Adora! You're royalty! " He bowed.
Glimmer nudged him. "Cut it out, Bow"
Adora blushed "What happened to our parents?"
Adam set his jaw grimly. "The Horde happened. They killed our father. Mother and I barely escaped with our lives. We always thought they killed you too"
Adora shook her head like a big confused dog. "Woah, deja vu. the same thing happened to my wife"
"You're married!"
Finn got fussy and jumped out of Catra's arms. They toddled over to Adam and looked up at him.
"Mommy, is he my uncle like Uncle Bow?"
Adam chuckled and knelt down, ruffling Finn's hair "I sure am, kiddo. Adora, they're so cute and smart! How old?"
"Finn and Angie just turned three" Adora told him "They were born on the same day"
Angie walked up to Adam tentatively, a finger in her mouth. She curtsied the way Bow had taught her.
"H'lo, sir"
"Hello, sweetie"
"can I pet your kitty?"
"Of course, sweetheart"
Angie pet Cringer reverently. "he's soft like Melog" she whispered. She disappeared in a burst of sparkles and appeared on Cringer's back. Cringer looked up at her complacently an walked around the foyer for her as she giggled.
Adam raised an eyebrow at Adora.
"She gets it from her mother" Adora said.
"Ah"
Adam picked up Finn "I can't believe I had family out in the universe and never knew"
Adora reached out her hand but thought better of it and snatched it away, rubbing her shoulder. "Catra and I were taken by the Horde and raised as soldiers. A few years ago we found Catra's family on the Magicat homewrold"
"oh I've been there!" Adam said enthusiastically. "They have excellent fish. Didn't care for the mice though"
"Mice where?" Catra's fur raised and she looked around warily.
Finn gave their fiercest growl which was little more than a squeak and Adam laughed.
Adora took Finn in her arms and sighed wistfully. "I wish our mom and dad could have met Finn"
Adam looked at her seriously. "Adora, Mother is still alive. She's waiting for me upstairs"
