I flew over Gotham as Batman leapt off buildings. "Batman," I said through the mind link, "how do you feel about me having other relatives?"
I landed, and vanished my wings, standing back to back with Batman, beating up some court of owls assassins. "I kind off wish they didn't exist," Batman admitted, "but it's nice for you to bond with your family."
"Batman," I inquired, "during school, am I just going to open portals for patrol, sending us all to our respective cities."
"That should work," Batman said, as he swiped an assassin off his feet, "but what about if anyone is suspicious?"
"Well," I said, using a roundhouse kick to the assassin's nose, "if I trust them, or they're a friend I'll tell them. Don't worry, I'll only tell them if they have strong shields. If they're not, I'll erase their suspicions and memories from their mind."
"Well that solves that," Bruce said, as we finished tying up the crooks. I opened a portal, and went straight to my room to sleep.
September 8th, 1991
Bruce waved goodbye, as we walked on to the Illvermorny busses. We were on bus number two, and only two seats were available. In walked a boy with messy brown hair and a girl with silvery blond hair and blue eyes
"Hello," the boy said, "I'm Rolf Scamander, and this is my grandparents' ward Luna Lovegood."
"I'm Isis Black-Wayne," I said, "your grandmother is my god grandma, and Luna, your mother was best friends with mine. I was hoping to meet you, but was told you were going to Hogwarts."
"Oh yes," Luna said, "my mother talked about your mother very much. I don't think any of your mother's friends knew you existed. I was supposed to go to Hogwarts, but then my senile father was deemed unfit to care for me. The Scamanders, as a memory to your mother, took me in as a ward, and re enrolled me into Illvermorny."
"Well, nice to meet you," I said, "this is Danika 'Nika' Al Ghul-Wayne, my adoptive sister, Bart Thawne-Allen, my bestfriend, Mary and Billy Batson, my other best friends."
"Al Ghul and Thawne are both old families," Rolf said, "if you don't mind my asking, can you use The Blue Flames?"
"Not yet," Bart said, "I've made some flames, but I'm still refining the technique."
We talked for a little, and Mary practiced her no wand legillemency. We left our wands in one of our two holsters. One would be invisible, and hold our true wands. The second would hold the wand that was an okay fit, and would be visible.
The topic eventually came to house placement. I had already decide I was, if given the choice, would go to Horned Serpent. I valued above all wisdom and my mind, and was a true scholar. Bart, who loved adventure, and valued his soul most, hoped for Thunderbird. Mary and Billy, both favored Pukwudgie, prizing healing and the heart above all. Nika, on the other hand, favored Wampus, valuing her body and was an incredible warrior.
Luna, it seemed, wished to accompany me to Horned Serpent, and Rolf, Wampus. We eventually arrived at the building, and walked into the hall. We saw the legendary Gordian Knot, and were in awe of the magnificent statues. Al-Ghul-Wayne, Danika Martha, was called. Nika went on to the knot, and the Wampus roared, and the Pukwudgie raised it's arrow. Nika chose Wampus, and moved into the next chamber to get a wand.
Batson, Billy was next, and Billy went on. The Pukwudgie raised his arrow, and the Thunderbird flapped it's wings. Billy ran to Pukwudgie, his sister following him.
Black-Wayne, Cassiopeia Fay, was next. I took a deep breath, and stepped delicately on the knot. All the statues came alive. The Pukwudgie raised his arrow, the Thunderbird flapped his wings, the Wampus roared, and the Horned Serpent's gem glowed. Gasps were heard, as I went into Horned Serpent.
