A/N: yes, I watched 13 reasons why shortly before writing this lol

It was now June and the students at Eden Hall were busy with their intensive exam schedule. Adam had an exam for one of his advanced maths modules.

"How was it?" Jessica asked.

"Piece of cake!" She laughed.

"Don't even start!" He raised his finger jokingly. "How was your English exam?"

"Piece of cake!" She replied.

"Man, can you believe that history exam?!" Goldberg exclaimed. "I mean what the hell was that?"

"It's okay, guys, it's done now, we need to get ready for prom next week! Everyone got their costumes?" Connie asked.

"I'm still making the finishing touches on mine, should be done in 3-4 days." Jessica said.

"Same here!"

"Yeah, same!" "We need to own this prom, okay? Duck style!" Charlie grinned.

"Zip up my dress, come on!" Connie rushed Guy.

"I'm trying, where's the damn thing?!"

Since all the couples had decided to wear matching costumes, the two were wearing a similar thing. So did Julie and Jesse, Charlie and Noah, and even though they weren't a couple, Portman and Fulton had decided to wear matching costumes.

The Ducks all walked in together as everyone stopped and stared at them. People were murmuring and taking pictures of the group. The team was certainly the most dressed in the Hall.

"What a bunch of weirdos!" Cole smirked as him and Riley sneered.

"Wow, you guys really took it to the next level!" Cheryl came over to the Ducks' table.

"Nice job decorating the place, Cheryl, it looks gorgeous!" Connie complimented her.

"Yeah, now you know why I had the vote that early, it took us 4 months to get all the decorations."

"Let's dance, everyone!"

"Yeah, come on!"

"Are you okay under all of that?" Adam asked Jessica as they were dancing.

"Yeah, a little warm but nothing too bad."

"Alright, everyone! It's time for the prom king and queen announcement!" Cheryl's voice sounded through the hall.

"Ugh, I bet it's gonna be Riley and Stacy, everyone knows that!" Kenny said, disgusted.

"What if it's you two?" Julie turned to Jessica and Adam.

"Then, I might as well take my clothes off and have a nightmare…" Jessica scoffed.

"Come on, you know it's whoever the Varsity wants, every year."

A teacher brought the envelope to Cheryl. "Holy shit!" She exclaimed when she opened it. "Uhm...ladies and gentlemen, your prom king and queen...or king and king are...Noah Foster and Charlie Conway!" There was a moment of silence before the news set in, after which everyone took their masks off and started cheering and hugging each other. Charlie and Noah walked up to Cheryl on the stage.

"So, who wants the crown and who the tiara?" Charlie and Noah exchanged looks.

"Uhm, I'll take the small one!" Noah said. Cheryl placed the crowns on their heads as everyone clapped.

Once the commotion had settled in, everyone took their seat to have dinner. The Ducks were all at the same table with Charlie at the head of it.

"We need a speech, captain!"

"Speech! Speech!" They all chanted.

Charlie sighed, took his glass and stood up. "Alright, you guys, I'm proud of everyone here, okay? I'm sorry I was a jerk when we first came in and I wouldn't have been able to come back without the help of Jess! I know most of you guys are probably gonna go off to college after this year but I just wanna say, I hope we can all get together soon and keep in touch!" Charlie's little speech moved everyone and even made Connie tear up.

"I can't believe this is the last time we're all gonna be together…" Guy remarked, making everyone fall silent, some eyes tearing up.

"Hey now, when the time comes for…" Jessica wiggled her ring finger "...we'd love it if you guys could make it! We're gonna gather one last time!"

"Yeah, and as your captain, I order you to come see me every year at least once!" Charlie grinned. People laughed but deep down they knew that that was it, it was never going to be the same again, everyone was going to go on with their lives and probably fall out of touch. Charlie knew that, out of everyone, he would most probably be the one to stay behind in this town.

"What about you, Banks? I would've thought out of everyone here, you'd be the one going all the way!"

Adam sighed. "I thought so, too and I was still all in at the beginning of the year but things have changed. I'm still gonna try out for the minors after college but there's bigger things now…" He looked at Jessica and smiled at her.

Prom ended and everyone went back to their rooms, eager to take off their costumes.

"I can't believe we're about to finish high school…" Jessica sat down on Adam's bed and took off her shoes and headpiece.

"I know...I can't believe I'm not gonna see the guys every day anymore, who knows when even." He sat down next to her and put his head on her shoulder.

"Oh, honey, I know but we have so much to look forward to!"

"Yeah, my boss said he was gonna make some calls for me so I can get an early admissions interview for our office in New York."

"Ah really? That's great, babe!"
