Not long after Kaiba's soul was taken by Pegasus, the gang were in a dining room with two paintings of a a man in a turban and of a woman with long blond hair, at the moment they were enjoying a feast laid out by the Creator themselves, well… mostly Joey, Tristan, Mako and Xeno who were gulping down as much food as they could.
"Give me seconds of that cheese." Joey said.
"And the ham." Tristan added.
"Pass the pudding." Xeno called out.
"Give me some steak." Mako said.
Sonia just looked at all four boys who were just stuffing their faces. "If this is a duel munchers competition you four would definitely win."
Just then Croquet spoke. "On behalf of Master Maximillian Pegasus, I would like to congratulate the 8 finalists who have made it all the way to the finals, and welcome to the final phase of the Duelist Kingdom Compilation, I trust you all have you play off entry cards." this caught everyone's attention. "In your invitation for the Duelist Kingdom Tournament, you received two cards Glory of the Kings hand and Glory of the Kings opposite hand." Croquet as he showed them two cards, one blank and the other with treasure on it. "This is needed to qualify for the final tournament, those without them are disqualified."
"So that's they are for." Yugi uttered.
"Each card provides unique prizes, Glory of the Kings hand card is needed to claim the three million dollar cash prize, the other Glory of the Kings opposite hand allows the winner to challenge Pegasus for the championship." Croquet said.
'Now he tells me, I don't have either one.' Joey thought in fear at the sudden realization.
"Damn, I snuck into this tournament so i didn't know about that rule. So I need to get one of those cards." Keith angrily thought
"To make tomorrow's tournament interesting, your host has added an extra ingredient to your soup." Croquet said as they all looked at the soup as the Millenium eye suddenly floated to the surface disguised most of them.
"Eek, it's staring at me." Tea said in fear and disgust.
"This is worse than a fly in my soup." Joey yelled at Croquet.
"Your boss has a fucked up sense of humor." Xeno scowled, not amused.
"Hey, mine's eyeball free." Tristan said as he stirred around his soup with his spoon not finding anything in it.
"And that's a good thing." Sonia muttered in relief.
"Open up the eye and look inside it if you will." Croquet asked "Each of you has been randomly assigned a letter."
All the finalists did as he asked and opened up Millennium Eye and saw a piece of paper inside. They unwrapped the contents to see the letter they were given.
"What's this for?" Yugi asked as his sheet had the letter A
Mai was confused as well showing that her piece of paper had the letter B
Joey was string at his sheet which was the letter D
Keith lazily dangled his showing it was the letter C
Tea was looking at her piece that was the letter G
The Red-Eyes Queen was staring at her piece which showed the letter F
Xeno dangled his sheet showing that his letter was E
And Finally Mako was staring at his sheet that had the letter H
Suddenly a computer appeared behind Croquet. "And now the Island's Computer will pair up the letters to determine who will face each other." Croquet explained.
"Geez, I wonder who's facing who?" Tea questioned.
'This is good, with this I can prepare for who I'm facing.' Mai thought.
Joey just clenched his head. 'What's the point? I can't enter without one of those cards.'
Keith just smirked.
Mako was just eager to see who he would face.
Xeno and Red-Eyes Queen did nothing but scowled at the screen waiting to see their Opponents.
"A vs B, C vs D, E vs G and F vs H." Croquet announced
"Who has C?" Joey demanded.
"Me loser." Keith announced. Smirking
"Alright, remember what I said before. You're going to pay for trapping us in that cave." Joey said.
"It looks like we'll be dueling each other Mai." Yugi smirked.
"I've been waiting for this duel." Mai admitted.
"It looks like I'm having the honor of dueling you Red Eyes Queen." Mako smiled.
"I'm looking forward to it Mako, I'm not going to hold back." REQ responded.
"Tea, let's make our duel one to remember. I want to see the true skills of the Queen of Duel Monsters student." Xeno said.
"I'm looking forward to it, Xeno." Tea smirked.
"The duels are set, Yugi Muto v.s Mai Valentine, Bandit Keith v.s Joey Wheeler, Xeno Jameser v.s Tea Gardner, and the Red-Eyes Queen v.s Mako Tsunami, please enjoy the rest of the meal for 4 of you tomorrow your long journey will end in failure." Croquet finished.
At that moment Pegasus was sitting on his balcony as he took a sip of wine, before looking at the sunset. "So it has begun, hahahahaha."
Back in the dining room everyone had just finished eating with Joey, Tristan Mako, and Xeno had finished off almost all the food left.
"Man I'm stuffed like a sumo wrestler." Joey said as he patted his stomach
"Damn that was good, I'm so stuffed." Tristan said
"I think I ate more than a whale eats in one day." Mako said.
"I wish they had more." Xeno smirked.
"I still can't believe that all of you drank that entire eyeball soup." Sonia said.
"I expected you to have better table manners Xeno." REQ stated.
"Who are you? My mother? I haven't eaten for at least three days. I'm entitled to stuff my face." Xeno countered which made her frown.
Just then Yugi walked up to Joey. "hey there Joey, we should get to bed. We'll need all our strength for tomorrow."
"Yuge…." Joey uttered before turning away. "What's the point since I don't have that card…"
Yugi showed him his Glory of the Kings card. "Actually this Glory of the king's hand card belongs to you Joey, think of this as a thank you for standing by me when I was having a rough time earlier."
"But Yugi, you need it." Joey said.
"The rules never said we need both cards." Yugi said with a smile.
"Yeah…" Joey uttered.
"You should take it Joey, Serenity is counting on you and what kind of big brother would you be if you didn't try?" Tea questioned.
"Yes, and with the three of us in the tournament it triples our chances of winning the whole thing." Yugi said, showing the Glory of the King's Opposite hand.
"Take it Joey." Tea said.
"Thanks Yugi, you're a real pal." Joey smirked before taking the Glory of the King's hand, unaware Keith was growling at them.
"All this lovey dovey stuff is making my skin crawl, well good night boys and girls and see you tomorrow Yugi." Mai said with Yugi a firm nod in response.
Later the gang arrived at their rooms as they said their good nights.
"Good Night everybody, Tomorrow's a big day." Bakura said as he entered his room.
"Good Night, everyone." Tea said.
"Later!" Tristan said as he entered his room.
"Good luck to all of you." Sonia said as she entered her room.
In the hallway were just Yugi, Tea and Joey left.
"Night guys." Yugi said as he entered his room but before Yugi could open the door Joey called out to him.
"Yugi, listen, thanks again for helping me." Joey said "You're the best pal." Joey then yawned. "Well time to go to sleep."
"Just don't keep us up with your snoring." Tea said.
"I don't snore." Joey countered.
"You do, you kept us up half the night at the campsite." Tea said as they both went back and forth unaware Keith was spying on them.
After saying goodnight to Tea and Joey, Yugi looked out at the night sky with the thoughts of what tomorrow could bring plaguing his mind.
'Well mom, grandpa. I've made it this far, a couple of more victories and we'll all go home together.' Yugi thought as he prepared for bed.
Tea couldn't get to bed, for she too was having the thoughts of tomorrow's duels.
'Kikyo, Solomon we've finally made it. I won't stop until I've beaten Pegasus and saved you both.' however she knew as long as she had her friends by her side she would always come out on top.
Mai was up at night looking at her cards for her duel against Yugi.
"Okay, I'll have to fine-tune my deck if I'm to beat Yugi." Mai said as she looked out the window staring at the full moon. "Even if it takes me all night."
Joey was fast asleep in bed mumbling gibberish about food.
Bavarian Cream would hit the spot right now. Glazes and Crullers.." Joey said in his sleep before shouting out. "Gigantic Donut." and calming down afterwards
"This is it Umi, all I have to do is beat Tea and the others and we'll search for dad." Mako said as he fixed his deck while looking at his most treasured card hoping it would bring him victory.
REQ took off her helmet before she whipped her hair back, before putting her helmet on the table.
'Seto… you just had to have your soul taken away.' she thought as she walked towards a mirror.
"Now I must win the tournament to save you and Mokuba. And not only that beat Tea before I move on to Pegasus and then I'll be the best female duelist and then I'll challenge Kikyo for her title." REQ said before she sighed. '
'Which means I must beat Joey too.' She thought before beginning to prepare her deck for her match tomorrow.
Xeno sat on the floor in a meditative state, thinking not about Pegasus or the matches tomorrow but about the sudden energy he felt during Pegasus and Kaiba Duel against each other, it was brief but he had felt a foreign power leave the castle before it vanished.
"Who could it have been? It wasn't an Item, it wasn't an ordinary Duel Spirit." Xeno scowled, he was baffled, maybe it had something to do with Pegasus's company he had been looking into the history before coming to the tournament and it seems like someone was stealing files from Pegasus on a certain subject which was classified.
'I need to look into this when I return home.' Xeno thought as a shadow appeared beside him.
"You should get some rest master, you'll need it if you are going to duel Tea." the shadow said it's voice sounded like a young woman's.
"Yeah, Yeah I know." Xeno said with a playful scoff as he got ready for bed, but he suddenly clenched his as he grunted in pain.
"Master, is it happening again?" the shadow asked with concern.
"Yes, but i'm fine, I just need to take it easy." Xeno sighed, his darkness was trying to take over again with each duel or fight. It would grow stronger but he needed to endure it, he had to.
At that moment Sonia was in her bedroom, but she was unable to sleep as she stared out the window at the night sky.
'I finally get a chance to sleep in a decent bed, and I'm wide awake.' Sonia thought, suddenly there was a knock at the door.
"Coming." Sonia called out, as she rushed towards the door when she opened it, she was greeted by Tristan and Bakura. "Oh, what's up guys?" Sonia asked.
Trouble Sonia." Tristan replied
"Tristan thinks that Pegasus cheats in all his duels." Bakura said.
"Well he does." Tristan replied back much to her confusion.
Later, they were all sitting down in Sonia's room discussing what happened this morning during the duel Kaiba had against Pegasus.
"You really think Pegasus cheats in his duels?" Sonia asked.
"Yeah, I mean Kaiba is one of the worlds best duelists. But Pegasus beat him like he was an amature." Tristan said.
"That's true." Sonia agreed.
"No one could beat Kaiba that easily, at least not without playing fair and square, it always seemed like he knew what cards Kaiba had before he played them, Pegasus is as bogus as a three dollar bill you can't trust him." Tristan said.
"Even if you're right about Pegasus, what can we even do?" Sonia asked.
"Plenty, we'll find out how Pegasus cheats and expose him for the fraud he is." Tristan said.
"With all the guards everywhere we'll need help from Yugi, Tea, and Joey." Bakura added.
"No, they'll need all the rest they can get and besides a herd of elephants won't wake up Joey, we have to do this ourselves." Tristan said.
"I'm in Tristan, but if we get caught and go to prison I'll kill you." Sonia said.
Meanwhile Yugi was sleeping in his bed, when he suddenly heard his Grandpa's voice.
"Yugi…" the ghostly voice echoed.
Yugi began to stir before shot up. "Grandpa is that you?"
"Yugi, I must speak with you." Solomon's voice echoed through the room.
"Grandpa, where are you and mom, is Mom with you?" Yugi called out.
"Follow my voice Yugi." Solomon's Voice called out.
Yugi gasped and wasted no time and put on his shoes and Millennium Puzzle as he rushed out his room to follow his grandpa's voice.
At that time Tea was sleeping until she heard the familiar voice of Kikyo.
"Tea… I must see you and Yugi." Kikyo called out.
Tea's eyes shot open before sitting up. "Kikyo? Where are you?"
"Follow my voice please I must talk to you and Yugi." Kikyo's voice echoed.
Tea wasted no time as she quickly got dressed before putting on the Millenium Star as she left the room to pursue Kikyo's voice.
Meanwhile both Tristan and Bakura were inspecting both sides of the Duel Arena while Sonia was standing up in the stands.
"Keep searching guys. There has to be a hidden camera or something." Tristan said before inspecting the blue side of the Duel arena more thoroughly.
"Maybe Pegasus isn't a cheater? Maybe he's just good at guessing cards like a psychic or something." Sonia said.
"I once spoke to a psychic, the lady said that i'll have a nice girlfriend in 6 months, it's been a year and not a single date." Tristan replied as he went back to inspecting. "I don't believe in psychic powers."
Outside, the clouds covering the moon began to move allowing a beam of moonlight to showed itself on Tristan's back
"Hey look." Sonia said pointing at Tristan.
"What's wrong Sonia?" Bakura asked.
"Look." Sonia said pointing at the beam of moonlight
Bakura turned as he saw what she meant. "Hey Tristan, your back."
"Huh what's on my back?" Tristan asked.
Sonia had arrived as all three looked up at the spot where the moon light shined through.
"How can moonlight enter this room?" Bakura asked.
Sonia though for a minute before looking at the console. "Hey Tristan, go stand on the dueling platform and place your hand where the beam is like you are holding a card up."
Tristan did so and they were shocked to see it was positioned perfectly, Tristan climbed up to the hole and looked out.
"What do you see?" Bakura called out.
"I see a tower right across the courtyard, and isn't it convenient that there's a window facing in this exact direction, it be a piece of cake for one of Pegasus's goons to hide in the Tower with a telescope and spy on Kaiba's cards, then he relays what it is." Tristan said.
"As far fetched as it sounds, it is probably likely, and he could be hiding a receiver under his hair." Sonia said.
"Good thinking sherlock." Tristan said as he climbed down. "There's bounds to be plenty of proof in that tower."
"But what about the guards?" Bakura questioned, as Tristan landed next to him.
"Don't worry you'll be safe with me." Tristan said.
"Somehow I don't feel very safe, my dear watson." Sonia remarked.
At the moment Yugi bursted out of his room.
"Grandpa!" Yugi called out.
"Yugi!" a voice called out as he turned to see Tea walking towards him.
"You hear voices too? Cause if not I think i'm going crazy." Tea asked.
"Yes, I've heard grandpa, you heard him too?" Yugi asked.
"No, I heard Kikyo." Tea said, shaking her head.
"Yugi… Tea…" Solomon's voice echoed.
"Ok… that time I heard him." Tea said.
"Beware of Pegasus, you must stop him or he could destroy the entire world." Solomon said.
"Pegasus…" Yugi said.
"Yugi… Tea…" Solomon's voice called out before both Yugi and Tea rushed to the source of his voice.
"I'm coming Grandpa!" Yugi yelled as he rushed down the hall with Tea following close behind.
"Wait up Yugi!" Tea exclaimed as followed after him.
Meanwhile Tristan, Sonia and Bakura were making their way towards the tower but we're having trouble making their way through the castle, as it was like a maze and they were passing by suits of armor and weaponry on the walls of the torch lit hallway.
"Oh this castle's like a maze." Sonia said
"Shh, keep it down, there's goons around the corner." Tristan said.
"There's goons around every corner." Bakura countered
"I said shh!." Tristan said back.
"We're only running around in circles, it'll be morning by the time we get the tower." Sonia said.
Just then Tristan noticed a rope with grappling hooks on the wall before taking it down. "Look at what I found."
"What's that for?" Bakura asked.
"This grappling hook gives me an Idea." Tristan said.
"I have a bad feeling about this," Sonia muttered uneasily.
Meanwhile back in Mai's room, she was still going over her her duel against Yugi tomorrow.
"Harpy Lady combined with Cyber Shield, Yugi's already familiar with this combo because he saw my duel against Joey and I've also shown a few more tricks during my duel against Tea that time." Mai thought before gathering all of her cards and shuffling them. "He knows almost all the cards in my deck as well as I know almost every card he has in his deck. If I'm to beat him then I can't rely on my usual strategies." she thought.
Meanwhile Bandit Keith was lying on his back in his room still awake whistling as if he doesn't have a care in the world.
"Well time to snatch one of those entry cards." Keith thought as he got up.
At that time Yugi and Tea entered the courtyard following the sound of Solomon's voice.
"Grandpa, Mom! Where are you?" Yugi called out.
"Kikyo, Solomon! Are you there?" Tea called.
"Yugi… Tea… Beware of Pegasus…" Both teens looked around before looking down and saw the elder Muto's card. "Pegasus wields shadow powers of incredible strength, much stronger than anyone could have imagined."
Yugi bent down and picked up his grandfather's soul card. "But how is that possible."
"I don't know? And I don't like the sound of it." Tea added.
Meanwhile at the Tower Entrance, Pegasus' guards were standing before the tower's entrance. while far above them Tristan, Sonia and Bakura were inching along on the ledge high up the tower wall.
Sonia then slipped nearly falling, almost alerting the guards down below because of her screaming with both Tristan and Bakura reaching in to save her.
Both of the guards heard the noise when Sonia slipped. "Huh? Hmm?" both guards muttered. But before they looked up both Tristan and Bakura managed to pull Sonia up and when the guards looked up, they both saw nothing and both went back to guard duty.
Luckily both Tristan and Bakura caught her in time as well as covered her mouth to prevent the guards from hearing her screaming
Sonia then pushed both of their hands away from her mouth and looked at Tristan. "I still can't believe that your plan is to enter the tower from the outside, I'm lucky I didn't lose my glasses."
"Yep." Tristan bluntly said, much to Sonia's annoyance. "You wanted to avoid all the guards. I don't see goons up here." he explained as they continued to inch along the ledge.
"Grandpa, tell us how could Pegasus's shadow magic still be growing in power?" Yugi asked.
"With each soul he sends to the shadow realm it increases his strength." Solomon's card said.
Yugi just punched the ground while Tea just looked down sadly.
"He needs to be stopped, we can't allow anymore innocent people to get hurt." Tea said with her fist clenched.
Suddenly the card flies out of Yugi's hand and floats away, landing on one of three tall monoliths across the courtyard.
Both Yugi and Tea followed the card and also saw that Kaiba and Mokuba's cards are on the other two monoliths
"Wait Kikyo isn't here." Tea said in worry at not seeing her teacher's soul card not with the others.
"This is wrong, this is terrible." Yugi said as he also wondered where his mom could be.
"Save me Yugi and Tea." Kaiba's voice echoed.
"Save me Yugi and Tea." Mokuba's voice called out.
As both said nothing as they looked on in horror.
Meanwhile Tristan tossed the grapple rope to the roof before giving it a quick tug to see if it was firm.
"Alright, Sonia take the lead so in case you fall, me or Bakura will catch you." Tristan said.
"Why don't I feel any better?" Sonia questioned sarcastically.
"both of you are next." Kaiba's soul card echoed.
"He wants you both Yugi and Tea." Mokuba's soul card yelled.
"Why would Pegasus be after us?" Yugi asked.
"Yes, what do we have to do with anything he would want?" Tea asked.
"Pegasus has unlocked tremendous magic with a single millennium item, how much power do you think he'll have if he has your Millennium puzzle and Tea's star?" Solomon's Soul Card.
"He wants our puzzle and star?" Tea said in disbelief.
Sonia, Tristan and Bakura were then seen climbing up to the tower window.
"Tristan that's not the rope that's my leg." Bakura said
"Well then climb faster." Tristan said.
"Solomon, how are we supposed to beat Pegasus?" Tea asked.
"Just as Pegasus learned to harness the power of his millennium Eye, you and Yugi must learn to control the power of your Millenium Star and Puzzle." Solomon's Soul Card said.
"Our puzzle and start?" Yugi uttered.
"But how?" Tea asked.
"You both need to discover on your own, whatever it takes you both must stop Pegasus or he will release Armageddon on the world." Solomon's Soul card said as whitish-blue flames began to erupt around the pillars.
"Grandpa, Solomon!" Yugi and Tea shouted out.
"You can do Yugi, Tea, me and Kikyo believe in you." Solomon's soul card said before the Pillars vanished in flames.
"No…" Yugi said as sunk to his knees, with Tea hugging him close.
"Yugi, Tea…" Kikyo's voice called out as both looked up to see Kikyo's Soul Card floating before them, before it released darkness before it formed into Kikyo who looked sad as she stared at her son and student. "There is much we need to tell you."
Tristan, Sonia and Bakura finally reached the tower's window and opened it, Sonia crawled inside first.
"Your plans are horrible." Bakura said.
"I managed to get you up here safe and sound didn't I?" Tristan asked
They all entered the tower room and started exploring but found no signs of a telescope or any other evidence of Pegasus' cheating
""There's nothing, not even a telescope." Sonia said.
"There has to be something here." Tristan said.
"Hey look at this." Bakura said getting both Tristan and Sonia's attention as they got up and saw a huge painting of a blonde woman who was holding a pink hair infant in her arms.
"Woah that's a really big painting." Tristan said.
"Can you find a light switch?" Sonia said when suddenly the lights turned on by themselves, startling them. "Did either of you turn on the lights?"
"No." Bakura said.
"Maybe the lights are voice activated." Tristan stated, before they turned their attention to the painting.
"I've seen one just like this in the dining room, but the only difference is she's holding a baby." Sonia said before she cood. "Aww, she's so cute."
"How do you know it's a she?" Tristan asked.
"I can just tell she's much too cute to be a boy." Sonia said. "Also she kinda seems familiar."
"Either way they must be very important to Pegasus." Bakura added.
"But I haven't seen either of them in the castle, do you think they are his fam-"
"Isn't it past your bedtime?" Pegasus asked as they all turned to the face the Creator himself.
"Pegasus." Sonia gasped
"How'd you find us?" Tristan said.
"A little birdie told me and saw you three climbing up the walls." Pegasus answered
"Yeah well we're onto you Pegsy." Tristan said as he pointed at him. "Listen up, you've been spying on Kaiba's cards from up here. The jig is up, why don't you just admit it?"
"Hmm, you break into my Private Sanctuary through the window and accuse me of wrongdoing? Absolutely no one is allowed in this room and I'm afraid that you 3 have seen too much." Pegasus said
"What do you mean?" Tristan asked.
"You should have stayed in your rooms." Pegasus said. "Instead you will now be disciplined." he said as he pulled his hair back revealing his Millennium Eye. Pegasus then made the room go all wobbly, and Tristan, Bakura and Sonia all fell through the floor.
Kikyo just stared at her son and student with a sad frown before she spoke.
"You know, people always said I was a card for years, but I never thought I would be turned into one." Kikyo quipped.
Yugi and Tea couldn't help but smirk, even when she was in a situation like this Kikyo's sense of humor would still shine despite the bad feeling around them.
"Mom, are you ok? are you really here?" Yugi asked as he reached out but his hand went through her startling both Younger Duelists.
"I am fine my son, but my soul has been detached from my body so I'm stuck in limbo." Kikyo said, before continuing. "But while in Limbo I learned alot about my past and have met an important person that's connected to it, I can't tell you everything, but she and I have a request for you both."
Yugi and Tea were confused, they were surprised that Kikyo met someone in this limbo who knew about her and that this person asked. However both nodded in agreement.
"What do you and her want us to do Kikyo?" Tea asked.
"We want you two to save Pegasus from his darkness," Kikyo said in a serious tone causing both Younger Duelists to gasp in surprise.
At that time Tristan, Sonia, and Bakura began to stir as they woke up in some kind of Egyptian passageway that was covered with hieroglyphs.
"Where are we?" Tristan asked.
"Looks like some kind of Egyptian hallway, look at these hieroglyphs." Sonia said as she brushed her hand across the wall. "They look so new, remarkable."
"Realm of Shadows in twilight hour take these souls and grant us power." they heard chanting coming from down the hall.
"Forget about the graffiti on the wall Sonia, let's go see what that chanting is." Tristan said.
"But why?" Bakura asked.
"Must you always criticize my plans?" Tristan countered
"I mean we do that for Joey, so it's fair for us to question your plans too." Sonia stated.
They later left to see where the chanting was coming from and They found a large cavern, with robed men lining the walls, chanting. At the far end of the cavern is an altar, with a painting on the wall
"Who are these clowns?" Tristan asked.
"Must be a sacrificial ceremony, in ancient times the Egyptians and other ancient cultures would sacrifice many people to bless their gods or to gain incredible powers that must be what chanting is about." Sonia said.
"Well let's hope it won't be us." Bakura said.
Two of the robed figures face off, and one of them says to begin. A large stone tablet rise from the ground in front of him
Tristan noticed what was on the tablet. "There's Blue-Eyes White Dragon on that tablet"
"I don't know, but it has some connection." Sonia said.
"I don't like this." Bakura said. "Let's get out of here."
Sonia than noticed the painting on the wall and noticed that it was the same painting of the woman holding the baby as the one in the tower.
"Look there, is that painting again, who is that woman and child?" Sonia said.
The other robed figure raises his own stone tablet, this one with the image of Crawling Dragon on it
"Hey those two looked like they're dueling." Tristan said.
"You lose." controller of the Blue-Eyes tablet said as the Crawling Dragon tablet crumpled to dust as his controller vanished in a flash of blue light, horrifying Sonia, Tristan and Bakura alerting the robed man.
"What?" all the robed men said as they all converged on them.
"Oh no, I have a feeling we'll be like that guy any minute." Sonia said in fear, not wanting to be a human sacrifice
The winner of the duel as well as controller of the Blue-Eyes tablet pulled down his cowl revealing that he was Pegasus shocking Tristan, Bakura and Sonia.
."Mom, what do you mean? Pegasus is the one who trapped you and Grandpa in cards." Yugi asked in a confused tone.
"Yugi, trust me. I have me and my mo-friend have our reasons please I need you to save him from his madness." Kikyo said as her appearance began to flicker as it began to vanish.
"Kikyo/Mom!" Tea and Yugi yelled.
"It's up to both now please save Pegasus from himself." Kikyo said as she vanished.
With that Yugi woke up in his room in shock as he looked around.
"It was only a dream…" Yugi said as he laid back down. 'But it felt so real, and was Tea apart of it too?'
Tea on the other hand was awake and equally unnerved by what Kikyo said.
'Kikyo, why do you want us to save Pegasus and who is this person who wants him saved too?' Tea thought.
Back at the entrance to the cavern, Tristan, Sonia and Bakura were surrounded by the robed men with Pegasus in the center.
"Where'd that robed guy go?" Tristan asked.
"Hmm, the Shadow Realm." Pegasus answered
"Shadow Realm?" Sonia uttered.
"Not again." Tristan muttered unknown to him, Bakura's eyes narrow
"What do you mean again? Am I missing something here?" Sonia whispered to Tristan.
"Not now." Tristan muttered
"This is how the Shadow Games were played thousands of years ago. These Duel Rituals release the shadow magic of the Shadow Realm and every soul I trapped here increases the power of my Millennium Eye." Pegasus explained. "You can't imagine the strength of my magic. But one power still eludes me, the ability to control life over death. For that magic I must capture more souls like yours" he explained horrifying Tristan and Sonia.
"He's going to send us to the Shadow Realm!" Tristan exclaimed.
"What is this Shadow Realm? Tristan I get uncomfortable when I don't have all the answers!" Sonia added in fear.
"It's not my fault, I can let you escape after you snooped around my castle and learning my secret, I hope the accommodations in the shadow realm are to your liking. And my dear Bakura, your soul won't only strengthen my shadow power, but I will also gain control of your Millennium Ring" Pegasus said making Bakura step back as he activated his Millennium Eye but Pegasus was shocked when he sensed a dark power.
Suddenly the Millennium Ring appeared around Bakura's neck as he began to chuckle as he looked at Pegasus with a dark expression. "Sorry but change of plans." Yami Bakura said.
'What's this cannot be, I sense a dark soul within his Millennium Ring.' Pegasus thought in shock as his Millennium Eye began to shot golden beams shot out of it, so have Yami Bakura's Millennium Ring blinding Both Tristan and Sonia.
"You may sense me now, but you won't remember me. Erase their minds!" Yami Bakura exclaimed as the room filled with a blinding gold light.
Tristan then woke up on his bed in his room.
"Oh! Oh my head, it hurts." Tristan muttered., not remembering the events of what he, Sonia and Bakura did tonight.
"What a horrible nightmare." Sonia said as she was on her bed in her room.. "But was it a dream? It seemed so real, I feel like something's terrible going to happen."
Also not remembering the events of what she, Tristan and Bakura did tonight.
Yami Bakura was wide awake in his room and was still aware of what happened tonight.
"You can't hide from me Pegasus, your Millennium Eye will soon be mine." Yami Bakura stated, with his Millennium Ring glowing around his neck.
At that time bandit Keith had snuck into Joey's room as he stared at the blonde duelist who was still talking in his sleep.
All Keith did was smirk as he made his way to Joey's jacket. 'You snooze you lose.' Keith said as he reached in and took out the Glory of The kings hand card out.
"Hey put that back!" Joey said making Keith shake thinking he was caught as he turned to see Joey still sleeping. "That's my pizza."
'Keep dreaming dweeb, it's game over for you.' Keith thought before he left.
Meanwhile Mai had just finished with her deck.
"I got it, this strategy is perfect. Sorry Yugi but your next duel is you last." Mai smirked.
At that moment Xeno had his hands on the counter as he stared into the mirror as sweat poured down his face.
"Damn it, the shadow magic I felt means the evil spirit is back, and not just that all the shadow magic is affecting the darkness inside of me." Xeno said as he could feel the evil in his heart getting stronger, before he unconsciously used his powers to shatter the mirror in thousands of pieces.
Red-Eyes Queen placed her helmet back on as she readied her deck.
'It's time, I must save Seto, and Mokuba. And I will defeat you Tea, I've waited all this time for a chance to face you.' REQ thought, as she took out a card locket which showed a picture of Young Kaiba and Mokuba before closing it.
Mako had just woken up and he got ready for his upcoming duel with the Red-Eyes Queen with the thoughts of his family on his mind.
'Hang on Dad, I'll win this and me and Umi will come looking for you.' Mako thought.
The sun began to rise as Yugi was still up thinking about the events of last night.
'That wasn't an ordinary dream, grandpa and mom were trying to send me and Tea a message from the shadow realm, but what is the secret our Millennium Items, what's the secret and how do we control it we're running out of time." Yugi thought.
Tea was starting to get dressed as she thought about the same events from last night as Yugi.
'Kikyo, I don't know what connection you and this person have to Pegasus but, I'll find out for you even if I have to beat Pegasus and force him to tell me.' Tea thought.
Ending Scene - Play: Yu-Yu Hakusho the homework never ends
Yami Yugi, Hikari Téa, Kaiba, and Red-Eyes Queen stood in the dark frowning, hands in their pockets as different color spotlights shone over them before a yellow light shone over all of them. Yami Yugi smiled sadly as he stood in a yellow light. Before it faded out and switched to a figure in the back and revealed Kaiba who frowned, staring at the spot where his rival once stood. While Yami Yugi began to walk leaving two afterimages. In a red light, Hikari Téa was leaning against a rail in a staircase looking up, before the light faded out as a blue light revealed Red-Eyes Queen looking down and to the side from the top staircase. Yami Yugi drew a card and summoned his faithful companion dark magician while Hikari Téa summoned dark magician girl, Kaiba summoned his blue eyes white dragon and Red-Eyes Queen summoned her red-eyes black dragon. Dark magician girl flew through the air and vanished as images of Yugi and Téa's friends and family appeared. As the sky turned dark both Yami Yugi and Hikari Téa who had scratches and bruises on them and their jackets missing as they slowly walked away from the tower on Kaiba Corp island as the Silhouettes of the villains loomed over them. A spotlight shined on Kikyo as she smiled on them below as she faded, and reappearing to the side was a woman who looked exactly like Kikyo only dressed like an Egyptian queen who frowned sadly. At night Hikari Téa was at the beach sitting on the ground, while Yami Yugi stood up on the beach smiling as they stared at the ocean.
