I don't own Re:Zero or any of the characters. A.N. I decided on a happy middle ground for the spirits. Skip over actually sealing contracts, and the third classification, "spirits" can manifest but only as a silhouette of their mana element.

Reunion

Ian walked through the trees in silence, Rem and Ram's hands clasped in his as a group of Micro and Lesser Spirits guided them. Three of the balls of light were green, and two were blue. The rest were all the lower class which was simply a ball of white light. The spirits had warned him that something urgent was happening, Ian able to understand them at least that well, but not well enough to understand exactly what, or if the situation was dangerous. Hence, his escorts.

"How much further?" Ian asked.

The spirits bobbed excitedly and he sighed. He couldn't understand their response. They continued following them for another few minutes before finally stopping as they reached a clearing where a ball of green light roughly the size of Ian's palm was hovering behind a wolf made entirely of what seemed to be green-tinted wind. It was snarling angrily, but it wasn't at Ian and the twins. It was snarling at the Mabeasts in front of it. Three Spotted Rexes. Ian drew his newly-upgraded sword and channeled mana into it, flicking it carefully and sending the blade out to wrap around one of the Mabeasts' necks and torsos, then yanked. As the blade pulled tight and contorted to straighten itself again, it sliced the hyena into pieces. A second later, Ian reached the other two just as they leapt at him. He slashed with both swords, Felix's now reconnected into a proper blade. His blades split both Hyenas into wide open, both collapsing before Ian turned to the spirit as he sheathed his swords.

"Are you alright?" Ian asked. "Seemed like you were having trouble for a second there."

"When we started fighting, there were twelve of them," the wolf spirit growled.

"Don't lie, you big meanie!" a higher, feminine voice said, just before the ball of light behind the wolf began to change.

Within a second, it had grown into a spirit that looked something like Ian would picture as a Will O' Wisp from a video game, except that it was green and made of wind instead of fire. Its head and bodies were the same size, with a teardrop-shaped head decorated with no true face, only a pair of emerald-like gemstone eyes, then its body seemed to be formed from a long-sleeved dress with the sleeves open but not possessing hands, then a pair of pointed peg legs. Around the spirit was a thin, weak cyclone, looking visually similar to his own magic.

"You're so mean, big brother!" the small spirit said, its entire body as tall as Ian's forearm. "There weren't twelve, there were six. He just can't use his full power without a contractor or else he'll run out of mana. Normally he can take it and store it from the atmosphere, but he's not as strong that way. That's why he needs a contractor to fight to his full power."

Ian nodded. "That makes sense. "So, are you both..."

"Spirits," the wolf grunted. "Don't confuse us with those ones you followed here."

"But we're not Great Spirits either," the girl said, her head deforming around her eyes to close them in what would probably be a smile.

"Yet," the wolf growled.

"Thanks for your help!" the female spirit said. "We should do something nice for you!"

"That's not necessary," Ian smiled. "I really don't need anything."

"No, no, no!" she said. "We have to do something." She began to drift around the wolf back-first, eyes narrowed in thought.

"You could make a contract with them," Rem offered. "You've been trying to collect enough spirits to be able to use powerful spells through Spirit Arts."

"No way," the wolf growled.

"That's a great idea!" the spirit cheered, eyes going wide, with the gemstones actually growing slightly. "Although, I don't actually have that much fighting experience, so I'm not sure how well I could do."

Ian grimaced. "That's alright. I'm really only looking to get enough spirits to get by passably if I run out of magic on my own."

"Then that's perfect!" she cheered, eyes squinting closed again. "Now we just need to discuss the terms for me and my brother's contracts!"

"I said no!" the wolf snapped, actually snapping his jaw at her, though her sleeves just folded to rest about where her hips should be as her eyes narrowed in a scowl. "I'm not looking to be used as some brat's mana Gate. I have no interest in having a contractor that's as young and inexperienced as you."

"Then it would seem it's time for you and your sister to part ways," Ram said.

"What?" the wolf asked.

"She's right," the smaller spirit said, floating over to hover beside Ian. "I'm going with him."

The wolf snarled angrily for a moment before sighing. "I'm not being your Mana Gate, or casting spells on your behalf. Instead...I'll fight alongside you, but only if you actually need me."

"What a useless contract," Ram said. "Ian is stronger than you. If it is a situation where he needs you, you would be useless."

The wolf growled. "Fine. I'll fight alongside you, period. But as a trade off, you're going to give me mana to stockpile every day, in addition to what I pull from the atmosphere."

"Agreed," Ian nodded. "Any other conditions?"

"Well, let me think," the wolf grinned toothily. "You can never separate me and my sister. Ever."

"That's fine," Ian nodded.

The wolf nodded.

"I have a few requests," the girl said.

"Alright, let's hear them," Ian nodded.

Ian sighed as he watched the clouds passing overhead. Off to the side, his new spirits, Wolf and Aria, both incredibly stereotypically named, were playing together, Wolf chasing Aria around and around. Rem and Ram were lying on his chest, his arms wrapped under them and their lower arms reaching up across their abdomens to hold his hands.

"You know, I just thought," Rem spoke up after an hour of silence. "Now that you're officially one of Miss Emilia's two knights, that baseless lie you told to cover for Subaru is finally validated. Don't you thin, Sir Ian?"

Ian rolled his eyes and pinched her side, Rem giggling before kissing him. "Don't call me that."

He'd spent the better part of a week after he and Subaru had been granted knighthood constantly telling her not to call him "Sir" just to tease him. In front of anyone important who wasn't one of their close friends, she and Ram were both obligated to call him it, but when it was just them and their friends, he refused to let them. He didn't care about a knighthood, because even though he was going to serve and protect Emilia, even with his vow, Rem and Ram's safety superseded Emilia's. Emilia had known that ahead of time and after the ceremony, she'd told him that was alright and given him a standing order to always protect them first.

"Ian," Frederica said, walking over. "There's someone here asking to see you. She claims to know you."

Ram instantly glared at him.

"Who is it?" Ian asked.

"She said her name was Elena," Frederica said.

Ian all but leapt to his feet, Ram and Rem both barely keeping from being thrown off. "Elena!? You're sure that's what she said?"

"Quite certain," Frederica nodded.

Ian sprinted past her instantly. "Where is she!?"

"In the foyer!" Frederica called after him, looking as confused as Rem and Ram.

He activated his magic, raging through the mansion to the foyer, and there she was. Taller and a year older than he remembered, and dressed in a simple blue shirt and white pants, clothes from any small town in Lugunica, her orangish-red hair was hanging loose in waves behind her to just past her shoulders, and as soon as her eyes found him, they went wide with surprise. He let his magic end and landed in front of her, sweeping her into a spinning hug, Elena laughing happily and hugging him tightly.

"I finally found you!" Elena cheered. "Oh my God! What was that!? Do you have magic!?"

Ian set her on her feet and nodded, grinning. "Wind Magic. What the hell are you doing here? How long have you been here? What...Where have you been!?"

Elena nodded, resting her head on his shoulder. "It's been so long. We were walking home from the store that night and suddenly you were just gone. I tried to find you, but no one believed me that you just suddenly disappeared. Eventually, they...they put me in a home because they thought I was crazy. And then one morning, I was here. I was in a small town to the east of here. That was bout six months ago."

Ian did some quick math. That would have been just before the Sanctuary.

"Oh my God, what have you been doing?" Ian asked.

"I found whatever jobs I could to survive," Elena said. "But what about you?"

"Well, obviously I came here after I disappeared," Ian said. "I wound up in the woods outside the other mansion owned by the lord of this mansion, Roswaal. He's an asshole, so don't expect much. Anyway, I found that mansion's two maids and through a string of accidents and coincidences, as well as some manipulation by Roswaal, I ended up the bodyguard of the mansion."

"Oh my God!" Rem gasped suddenly from behind Ian, Ian turning to see both sisters staring at Elena, though while Rem looked stunned, Ram was glaring suspiciously.

"These are them," Ian said. "Rem, with the blue hair, and Ram with the pink. Rem, Ram, this is my sister, Elena. Elena, meet my girlfriends."

Elena did a doubletake between him and the twins before her eyes narrowed and her face split into a grin. "Plural? Well, well. I'm impressed, Ian. I didn't think you had enough game to land a prostitute, let along sexy maid twins."

Ian sighed, shaking his head. "You never change."

Elena smiled brightly as Rem and Ram reached them, curtseying.

"It's wonderful to meet you, Elena," Rem smiled.

"And you," Elena beamed, shaking Rem's hand, then Ram's.

"You are Ian's sister?" Ram asked.

"That's right," Elena nodded, smiling.

Ram considered for a moment before looking to Ian. "I will amend our agreement in accordance with her arrival. She is included in what you are allowed to treasure."

Ian nodded, smiling. "Thank you."

Ram nodded just as Wolf and Aria both entered the room, Wolf still in his full form but Aria floating along as a ball of light. Instantly, she flew over to Elena, circling her several times.

"What is this?" Elena asked, cupping her hands, Aria landing in them.

"That's Aria," Ian said. "She's a spirit, like Wolf." He gestured at his other spirit. "What do you think, Aria?"

Aria shifted into her true form, Elena gasping, then squealing in delight.

"She's so cute!" Elena squealed.

"She's got an affinity for spirits," Aria said. "A little stronger than yours."

"I see," Ian nodded. "Then we'll have to get her a few. I'm not leaving her unprotected."

Aria nodded. "I can go gather her some if you want."

"Sure, thanks," Ian smiled.

Aria turned into a ball of light again and zoomed out of the room. once she was gone, Ian led the other three up to his room, filling Elena in on the specifics of everything that had happened to him, as well as about his ability in as much detail as he could while warning her that he couldn't talk about it in extreme specifics without setting off a penalty. In response to that, she began to describe a movie she watched where the main character was stuck in a time loop, but that even after she escaped, more time loops would appear, sometimes being days at a time, and sometimes a few seconds, the short ones having earned Elena a reputation for being clumsy from her accidentally falling down almost every time a small time loop happened when she was trying to walk, or hitting herself in the face with a door she was opening when her step back was negated by a small time loop, or any number of other things. She also said the small ones always came in clusters that lasted for several minutes. Ian put two and two together instantly and his jaw dropped.

"You...Oh my God!" Ian gaped. "That's...That's perfect! That's exactly what we need!"

Elena smiled and shrugged. "It's really unhelpful, but I'm glad you're excited."

Ian pulled her into a hug. "I'm so glad you're okay, and that you're here."

"Me too," Elena smiled.

Just then, Aria flew in with a half-dozen small balls of white light. Ian sighed and began the process of teaching Elena to communicate with Minor and Lesser spirits and how to form contracts with them.

"I can't believe how lucky you are, Ian," Elena said, having spent hours trying to learn, having gotten fairly good at it. "You have two girlfriends who are both not only stupidly beautiful and sexy, but they're also twins! I'm so jealous!"

Ian blinked in surprise, staring at her from where he was working on gathering more Minor and Lesser spirits to contract with. "You're a lesbian? Really?"

"Yeah," Elena nodded.

"Jesus, Sis, I knew you were a whore before we came here, but how did I never know you were lesbian?" Ian asked. "We talked about everything."

"You were always too busy cleaning up my messes and making a living for us to worry about whose skirt I was sticking my head up," Elena snorted, then grinned. "Or the fact that I was, in fact, sticking my head up skirts."

Ian grimaced. "Okay, ew. So many mental images I don't need or want."

Elena grinned wickedly. "Aw, what's wrong, Ian? Thinking about your little sister munching carpet?"

Ian gagged. "Trying desperately not to."

Elena giggled, then sighed heavily. "It's so not fair that you get to have Rem and Ram all to yourself. I want to at least make out with one. They'd be mine if I found them first."

Ian rolled his eyes. "Well, if you ever do go behind my back with one of my girlfriends, I'd recommend Rem, since Ram would slap the shit out of you. Actually, if you made out with Rem, she'd feel really guilty, probably enough to cry, and then Ram would slap the shit out of you anyway, so better not."

"Hey!" Elena almost shrieked. "No fucking fair! You shouldn't get to have one girlfriend from both of my types! You can't be allowed to have one violently overprotective badass and also one super-sweet-to-the-point-of-crying-from-guilt one, too! That's totally not allowed! It's not fair!"

Ian chuckled. "Not only are those their types, but they're both the platinum standard."

"I hate you," Elena pouted.

He shook his head, grinning, then wrapped an arm around her shoulders, squeezing her for a moment. "Don't worry, Sis, we'll get you a pocket pussy."

Elena grinned and hugged him. "I'm so glad you understand me. And speaking of pocket pussies, is that blonde maid available?"

"Blonde maid?" Ian frowned. "Frederica? Seriously?"

"Yes!" Elena said. "The only other person still available to fulfill my sexy lesbian maid fantasy is Petra, who's way too young for that!"

Ian groaned. "If you're going to go after Frederica, I wish you luck."

"Thanks!" Elena smiled, jumping up. "I'm going to go start now!"

And with that, she darted out of the door. Ian sighed, shaking his head, and returned to gathering contracted spirits, continuing until Rem and Ram arrived a few minutes later.
