As Spider-Man and Ghost Spider kept crawling through the vent, they suddenly heard a conversation below them, getting them to stop and look down a vent cover. Spider-Man pulled it back, then they both lowered themselves down slowly on a web-line, hanging upside down like a yo-yo, seeing two scientists in a lab.

"I'm concerned about this project, Dr. Rue." one of them said. "The city doesn't even know that we're working on this. Any sort of accidently release could have terrible casualties."

"Listen, Antower, those are the kinds of things you best keep to yourself!" Dr. Rue snapped rudely. "There isn't going to be an accidently release. Now do your job!"

He turned around towards a door, opened it up and left the lab.

Dr. Antower sighed as both Spiders lowered themselves towards him.

"So, what you guys cooking up here?" Ghost Spider asked.

Dr. Antower gasped as he turned to them.

"We overhead you two arguing." Spider-Man explained.

"I swear, I didn't know Oscorp even had a Chemical Weapons division." Dr. Antower swore. "You have to believe me?"

Both Spiders let go of their webs and landed on the floor.

"Chemical Weapons!" Ghost Spider gasped. "That's a big no-no."

"Yeah." Spider-Man agreed "Who knows what could happen."

They both thought for a minute.

"Especially if this is Goblin's weapon shop." Spider-Man thought.

"It must be one of these weapons that killed the Oscorp Board." Ghost Spider realized.

"There's nothing I can do." Dr. Antower assured. "The system is too heavily protected."

"That's where we come in, Doc." Ghost Spider said.

"We'll take care of those chemicals, just tell us what to do." Spider-Man said.

"It's really complicated, so for now just find one of the control rooms that oversee chemical injection into the central vat." Dr. Antower explained, before picking a radio up from his lab pocket. "I'll give you a radio so that we can communicate once you get there."

"Thanks, Doc." Spider-Man said, taking it.

"But watch out for the patrols in the corridors." Dr. Antower advised. "You can't let them spot you."

"We know, Doc." Ghost Spider assured.

Spider-Man put the radio under the top half of his suit, then walked towards the door and opened it up, then he and Ghost Spider slipped out of the lab. They stared down the hallway, and saw one guard patrolling the hallway ahead, with four cameras all around it.

"This isn't gonna be easy." Ghost Spider gulped.

"We'll have to be really, really careful." Spider-Man whispered.

They both jumped onto the ceiling, then began crawling along it quietly.

They both stopped when they got near the cameras, and saw another corridor on their left, with no cameras in sight.

"Might be better if we go that way." Ghost Spider whispered.

"Agreed." Spider-Man nodded.

They both crawled towards the left corridor, as the guard paced around below them, before he walked down the corridor with the cameras.

"That's good to know." Ghost Spider muttered.

"Yep." Spider-Man agreed.

They both crawled along the ceiling, then turned right along it, seeing another guard pacing around the end of it, and a door on their left. They turned right, and saw the guard from earlier walking back the way he came, as the second guard turned and walked away from them.

"Now." Spider-Man whispered.

Ghost Spider nodded before they both jumped down from the ceiling, then she opened the door, then they both ran inside before it closed behind them.

"Whoa!" Ghost Spider gasped.

They both stared at a bunch of laser alarms that kept vanishing and appearing in columns of four. Behind them all was a camera on the left wall, which moved around over the end of the corridor.

"This place is more guarded than the computer area." Ghost Spider whispered.

"I know." Spider-Man agreed. "This is gonna be harder than I thought."

They both web-zipped up towards the ceiling, then watched the lasers carefully, seeing a pattern the way they moved. Spider-Man then web-zipped forward, dodging them all, sticking to the wall right above the camera.

"Whoa." Ghost Spider said amazed.

Spider-Man turned and motioned her to come on.

She stared at the lasers carefully, then web-zipped forward and dodged them all, sticking to the wall right beside her partner. They both then crawled along the ceiling, but then stopped and saw a hallway filled with laser alarms going diagonally, and four cameras all around. Luckily, they spotted the alarms right on the ceiling were in a straight line, leaving a gap just big enough between them all to web-zip forward.

"I'll go first." Spider-Man whispered. "Follow me once I start crawling."

"Right." Ghost Spider nodded.

Spider-Man web-zipped forward, missing all the laser alarms, then he crawled along the wall. Ghost Spider web-zipped after him, missing the alarms, then began to crawl along the wall after him, but then stopped as the radio came on.

"Spider-Man, Ghost Spider, you're both getting close to the first control room you need to enter." Dr. Antower explained through the radio.

"Doc, how can we tell where they are?" Spider-Man asked quietly, touching his chest.

"They're listed alphabetically." Dr. Antower explained.

"Thanks." Spider-Man said.

He and Ghost Spider crawled away, then saw a door ahead of them, but also another on their left.

"Which way?" Ghost Spider asked.

They looked around carefully, seeing a camera near the door on the left, which was right opposite a larger door, before spotting a guard patrolling the area.

"I am so sick of these double-shifts." he yawned.

Spider-Man looked down and saw the letter 'B' beside the door on its right.

"I think it's this way." he whispered. "Come on."

They crawled along the ceiling, then spotted another door at the end of the hallway, and a much larger door in between them.

"If that door's 'B', maybe that's 'A'." Ghost Spider suggested.

"Check it out." Spider-Man said quietly.

Ghost Spider crawled along the ceiling, then stopped near the door at the end, and saw 'A' beside it on its left. She turned to her partner and held her thumb up, then he crawled towards her, just as the guard turned around and walked off. They both jumped down from the ceiling, then Ghost Spider opened the door. then they both dived into the room. Spider-Man took the radio out from under the top half of his suit, as Ghost Spider closed the door behind them.

"Okay, Doc, we've found one." he explained, holding it up.

"Alright, listen carefully. There are four control rooms like the one you're in, that control chemical injections into the central vat." Dr. Antower explained. "You have to activate them in the correct sequence, or you'll release the chemicals."

"Defiantly something we'll like to avoid." Ghost Spider said.

"So, how do we shut them down?" Spider-Man asked.

"Well, after you activate the chemical injectors in the first two control rooms, you'll need to go into the central chamber and start the ignition process. Then go back and repeat the process for the last two control rooms." Dr. Antower explained.

"Right." Spider-Man said.

He put the radio back under his suit, then Ghost Spider approached a panel near a window, showing the chemical injectors, then pressed a few buttons on it, before a small crane inside began the injection process.

"Well, that comes in handy." Ghost Spider said.

"Sure does." Spider-Man said. "Come on. Let's take care of 'B'."

They both turned, then he opened the door, looked around, and saw the guard on the other end of the hallway. They both quickly left the room, Ghost Spider closing the door behind them, then they jumped up and stuck to the ceiling. They both crawled along the ceiling towards control room 'B', as the guard turned and paced around in the other direction.

Once by the door, Spider-Man turned to Ghost Spider.

"Stay here." he whispered. "I'll handle this."

Ghost Spider nodded, before he jumped down, then he opened the door and dived into the control room. He then approached a panel like the one in control room 'A', then did what his partner did in 'A', staring the injection process, as he saw the crane moving. He turned around, peeked through the window on the door, seeing the guard pacing around on the other side.

"Come on, move?" Ghost Spider thought, staring at the guard.

The guard turned and paced back down the corridor, then Spider-Man came out of the room, closed the door behind him, then jumped up and stuck to the ceiling, before he crawled towards her.

"You take care of it?" Ghost Spider asked quietly.

"Yeah." Spider-Man replied. "Come on, we need to get to the central chamber."

They both crawled towards the middle larger door, then stopped and stared at the guard. He turned around and walked down the hallway, then once he was far enough, both Spiders jumped down from the ceiling, then the big door opened up by itself, then they dived inside.

"Must be automatic." Ghost Spider deduced.

"Agreed. Come on." Spider-Man said.

They both ran towards another door ahead of them, which then opened by itself, then they dived inside. Once inside, they saw two control terminals and the central chemical chamber, which had four pipes over it.

"Hey, Doc, there's two control terminals here. Which one do we use?" Spider-Man asked, touching the radio.

"I'm not sure." Dr. Antower said nervously. "Look around. Maybe there's something near the terminal that will help."

Both Spiders looked around while approaching the terminals, before Ghost Spider saw something.

"It's that one." she said, pointing at the left one. "It's got 'A' and 'B' on it."

Spider-Man turned to the other, and saw it had 'C' and 'D' on.

"I guess you're right." Spider-Man said. "Care to do the honors."

"With pleasure, Spidey." Ghost Spider teased.

She approached the first terminal, then pressed a button on it. Two long pipes above them then moved towards the central vat, then stuck to it.

"Okay, one down, one to go." Ghost Spider said.

"Right, let's go." Spider-Man said.

They both turned and ran towards the door, which then opened up before they ran through it. They ran towards the hallway the corridor was behind, but then hid on either side as their Spider-Senses tingled.

"What the..?" Spider-Man thought, on the left.

"Huh?" Ghost Spider muttered, on the right.

They both saw the guard patrolling around, but got too close to the door, making it open automatically. They waited till he was a bit down the corridor, then they both dashed through the doorway, then jumped up and stuck to the ceiling.

"That was close." Ghost Spider muttered.

"Uh-huh." Spider-Man agreed. "Come on. That door from earlier might lead to 'C' and 'D'."

They both crawled along the ceiling as the guard turned and paced back down the corridor, when they spotted another heading towards the door they wanted. They both saw him move closer to the door, before he sighed, turned around and walked back the way he came.

"Good timing." Ghost Spider muttered.

Spider-Man nodded before they crawled towards the door, then they both jumped down the ceiling. Ghost Spider opened the door, then they both dashed inside, then she closed it behind her, before they saw the room had four cameras - two on their side, two near the other door - and a bunch of laser alarms that created a large cube ahead of them, only the door being clear.

"This won't be easy." Ghost Spider gulped.

"We'll have to plan carefully." Spider-Man said.

They both turned and saw four small racks on their left, then spotted another four across from them, on the other side of the lasers.

"I have an idea." Spider-Man said.

He web-zipped up towards the ceiling, sticking to it outside the laser cube, then Ghost Spider turned back to the door and saw the guard was coming back.

"Better up there than down here." she thought.

She web-zipped up towards the ceiling, sticking to it right beside her partner.

"So, what you got in mind?" she asked quietly.

"Just watch." Spider-Man whispered. "Once I'm through the door, follow."

"Got it." Ghost Spider understood.

Spider-Man looked carefully at the four racks on the other side of the room, concentrating hard. He then web-zipped towards one, landing on top of it, then he turned to the door. He looked at it carefully, as a camera was right beside it, waited till it turned away, then web-zipped towards the door, landing right in front of it.

"Whoa." Ghost Spider thought. "That was impressive."

Spider-Man opened the door, then dashed inside and closed it.

"Well, here goes." Ghost Spider thought.

She web-zipped towards the racks on the other side of the room, landing on the same one as her partner, then she got up and turned to the door. She watched the camera carefully, then web-zipped towards the door as the camera turned, landing right in front of it.

"Phew." she sighed, as she opened the door.

She dashed inside, closed the door behind her, then web-zipped up and stuck to the ceiling, just as a guard turned left down the corridor and approached her. She looked around and saw Spider-Man on the other side of the corridor on her left, then began to crawl towards him.

"I wonder what's for dinner tonight?" the guard said, pacing around.

Once Ghost Spider got close to Spider-Man, they both crawled along the ceiling, then stopped by a door as a guard walked in the other direction.

"So, where do we go from here?" Ghost Spider asked quietly.

"Though that door, I guess." Spider-Man replied. "I haven't seen control rooms 'C' or 'D' anywhere."

"Okay." Ghost Spider said.

She jumped down from the ceiling, then opened the door as Spider-Man jumped down, then they both dashed through the doorway, then she closed it. They both then jumped up onto the ceiling, seeing laser alarms along the floor, then they crawled along it down the corridor. Once on the other side, they saw a door on their left, with the letter 'C' next to it.

"I think this is it." Ghost Spider whispered.

"Better check and see if 'D's near it." Spider-Man whispered.

"Okay." Ghost Spider nodded.

They both crawled towards the door, then saw a corridor on their right, as a guard came walking past them both, before he turned left and walked off.

"Alright. I'm getting paid double. It's double time." he yawned.

Both Spider-Man and Ghost Spider crawled down the corridor, then saw control room 'D' just a few feet away from 'C', like 'A' and 'B' had been.

"I guess this is it." Ghost Spider muttered.

"Okay, you take 'C', I'll take 'D'." Spider-Man said.

"Right." Ghost Spider agreed.

She crawled towards control room 'C', then jumped down and dashed inside the room, as Spider-Man crawled towards control room 'D', then jumped down to near it. As Ghost Spider began the injection process in 'C', Spider-Man tried to open up 'D', but found the door was locked for some reason.

"Uh, Doc, this door is locked." Spider-Man said, touching the radio.

"Let me look into it." Dr. Antower said.

Spider-Man waited for a minute.

"Spider-Man, be careful. Dr. Rue, the head of the project seems to have figured out something is wrong. He's heading your way." Dr. Antower explained.

Nearby, Dr. Rue ran down a hallway, followed by three guards.

"You'll need to get the key from him, he's the only one who has it." Dr. Antower explained. "He's bound to have some guards with him, so be careful."

"Right." Spider-Man understood.

He jumped up and stuck to the ceiling, then looked around, before touching the side of his mask.

"Ghost, stay where you are." he said quietly.

In control room 'C', Ghost Spider approached the door, when she heard his voice, making her touch the side of her mask.

"Spidey, what's wrong?" she asked.

"We've got company coming." Spider-Man explained. "Don't leave the room till I tell you."

"Okay." Ghost Spider said.

Spider-Man's spider-sense went off, then he looked down, and saw Dr. Rue and the three guards running down the corridor, before they stopped outside control room 'D'.

"There's an intruder here, somewhere." Dr. Rue said, turning to the guards. "Spread out and find him!"

"Yes, sir." the guards said.

One of them ran past Dr. Rue, while the other two turned around and ran off, leaving him alone by the door. Once he saw all three guards were out of earshot, Spider-Man jumped down from the ceiling, landing behind Dr. Rue.

"Huh?" the Dr. muttered.

He turned around to Spider-Man, shocking him.

"What the-" he gasped.

Spider-Man punched him in the face before he could finish, knocking him onto the floor out cold.

"Sorry, Dr., but you don't know what you're doing." Spider-Man thought.

He bent down and searched Dr. Rue, finding a key card in his jacket, which he then put into the control room's door, unlocking it. He grabbed Dr. Rue, dragged him towards the door, opened it up, then dragged the Dr. inside the room, before putting him down.

"Hope he doesn't wake up till we're done." Spider-Man hoped.

He started the injection process, then he peeked though the door window, seeing no guards around, then he opened the door. He ran out of the room, closed the door behind him, then jumped up and stuck to the ceiling.

"You're clear, Ghost." he said.

"Okay." Ghost Spider said.

Spider-Man turned as she dashed out of control room 'C', then jumped up and stuck to the ceiling, then they both crawled back the way the came.

"That's all the control rooms." Ghost Spider whispered. "Now to finish this."

"Yeah." Spider-Man agreed.

They both crawled towards the door leading to the next room, when a guard came pacing towards it.

"I think getting back won't be easy." Spider-Man whispered.

"Yeah. Looks like security's doubled." Ghost Spider agreed.

Once the guard turned and paced away from the door, they both crawled towards it, then jumped down from the ceiling. Spider-Man opened the door, then they both dashed inside, then he closed it behind them, then they both jumped up and stuck to the ceiling again.

"Phew, that was too close." Ghost Spider sighed.

"I know. We have to be very careful." Spider-Man whispered.

They both crawled along the ceiling down the corridor, then stopped near the door with the laser alarm cage was behind.

"This is gonna be the hard bit." Ghost Spider muttered.

"Uh-huh." Spider-Man agreed.

They both jumped down, then opened the door and dashed inside, but only a few steps, before Spider-Man closed the door. They saw they were both just out of range of the cameras near their door, making them sigh slightly.

"Same plan we used earlier?" Ghost Spider asked.

Spider-Man nodded. "Ladies first." he said.

"Why, thank you." Ghost Spider smirked.

She web-zipped towards the racks on her left, sticking to one, before she climbed onto it. She then turned around and web-zipped towards the door on the other side of the room, landing just above it, then she turned and crawled up the wall slightly.

Spider-Man then web-zipped towards the racks on the left, sticking to one, then climbed onto it, when his Spider-Sense went off.

"Huh?" he muttered, turning around.

Ghost Spider looked down, hers having gone off too, then saw a guard walk in through the door, looking around.

"Oh, no." she gasped.

She looked around, but saw Spider-Man had hidden himself.

"Phew." she sighed.

The guard looked around, but saw nothing suspicious.

"Dr. Rue must have been kidding when he said there was an intruder here." he sighed, yawning.

He turned around, opened the door, and walked back through it and down the corridor.

"Come on, Spidey." Ghost Spider muttered.

She looked up as Spider-Man crawled onto the rack, then web-zipped over to her, landing right beneath her.

"Talk about cutting it close." she said.

"Agreed." Spider-Man said.

They both jumped down, then he opened the door, then they dived inside, him closing the door behind them, then they both jumped up and stuck to the ceiling. They both crawled along it, then turned right and approached the central chamber door, but saw two guards patrolling the area.

"I thought you had another area." one said, folding his arms.

"Dr. Rue ordered here to help." the other sighed annoyed. "Says something about an intruder messing around with stuff."

He turned around and walked off down the corridor, as the first guard stood by the door to the central chamber.

"Oh, just great." Ghost Spider muttered.

"Let's sit tight." Spider-Man whispered. "He may move."

They waited a few minutes, before the guard yawned and walked off down the corridor, then turned right down it.

"Okay, let's do it." Spider-Man said.

Ghost Spider nodded, before they crawled towards the door to the central chamber, then stared at the camera as it moved around. They both then jumped down near the door, out of the camera's range, then the door opened up, and then they dived inside. They ran towards the next door, then entered the central chemical chamber, then approached the terminal with 'C' and 'D' on.

"I'll do this one, since you did the last." Spider-Man said.

"Fair enough." Ghost Spider said, folding her arms.

Spider-Man approached the terminal, then pressed a button on it. Two long pipes above them then moved towards the central vat, then stuck to it. The chemicals in the central vat then began to disintegrate, until they completely vanished.

"Doc, we've done it." Spider-Man said, bringing out the radio.

"Thank you. Both of you." Dr. Antower said. "Is there anything I can do to repay you?"

"Well, there is actually." Ghost Spider replied. "How do we get from Mr. Osborn's office from here."

"We think there might be something in there connected to the Goblin that attacked the festival today." Spider-Man explained.

"Well, that's the least I can do then." Dr. Antower said. "Once you leave the central chamber, there should be an air-vent on your right on top of a wall. You should reach Mr. Osborn's office after crawling through it for about 10 minutes or so."

"Thanks, Doc." Spider-Man said. "But what about your radio."

"Just leave it there." Dr. Antower said. "I'll come by and get it myself. And thanks again."

Spider-Man put the radio down, then he and Ghost Spider ran towards the door, which opened up, then they ran towards the next one. Both their Spider-Senses then tingled, getting them to dive to either side of the door, Spider-Man the left, Ghost Spider the right.

"Man, what a night it's been." a guard yawned.

They both peeked round their corners, and saw it was the same guard who'd left after being ordered there by Dr. Rue, who was pacing down the hallway.

"Sit tight." Spider-Man whispered. "Let's see how it goes."

Ghost Spider nodded.

They both kept peeking out through the door, then after a few minutes, the guard turned and walked off to their left down the hallway.

"Now?" Ghost Spider asked.

"Yeah. Who knows when another will show up." Spider-Man said.

They both dashed though the door as it opened up, then quickly jumped onto the ceiling.

"Doc said the vent was on our right." Spider-Man whispered.

"You mean like that one?" Ghost Spider asked quietly, pointing right.

Spider-Man turned and saw she was pointing at the vent in question.

"Exactly." Spider-Man said. "Come on."

They both crawled towards the vent, then Spider-Man pulled off the cover quietly.

"Is there no one around?" he asked.

Ghost Spider turned back to the corridor, and saw no guards around.

"We're clear." she said.

"Right. After you." Spider-Man said.

"Thanks." Ghost Spider smirked.

She crawled into the vent and away, then Spider-Man crawled in after her, putting the cover back as he did, which was tricky due to its size.

After 10 minutes of crawling through the vent, Ghost Spider stopped by a vent cover, then saw Mr. Osborn's office below her.

"I think this is it." Ghost Spider said.

She pushed open the vent cover, as this one wasn't a pull off one, the she peeked down it and stared at the room, seeing no guards or cameras around.

"It's clear." she said.

She lowered herself down on a web-line like a yo-yo, then let go of it and landed on her feet. Spider-Man then followed her doing the same movement, and looked around the room.

"So, where do we start?" Ghost Spider asked.

"I'll start with his desk." Spider-Man said. "You check the filing cabinet."

"Okay." Ghost Spider said.

She walked towards it on her left, then opened the top drawer, and began going through her files.

Spider-Man approached the desk opened up a drawer, but found nothing, then he opened up another, then another, but found nothing. He then opened a fourth, and found some blueprints.

"Huh?" he muttered.

He pulled them out from the drawer and stared at them, seeing one was of the Green Goblin's suit, another had the gilder on, and the third had the weapons.

"No way..." he muttered.

Ghost Spider turned to him.

"Found something?" she asked, closing the filing cabinet.

"I think so." Spider-Man said.

Ghost Spider walked towards him, then looked at the blueprints, shocked by what they were for.

"You think this is the stuff Mr. Osborn was working on before his assistant was murdered?" she asked.

"Yeah. Meaning this Green Goblin guy, is the murderer." Spider-Man said. "He probably stole it all afterwards to make his escape."

"And has now become the Green Goblin." Ghost Spider sighed. "Well, at least he won't be able to use anymore chemical weapons, if this is where he's been getting his stuff."

"By the looks of this, I'd say Mr. Osborn was trying to create something for the military." Spider-Man said, looking at the blueprints carefully.

"I agree." Ghost Spider said.

Their Spider-Senses then went off, followed by the alarms.

"Dr. Rue must've recovered." Spider-Man realized, putting the blueprints back it the drawer, then he closed it.

"Oh, great!" Ghost Spider groaned. "We've gotta get outta here fast."

"We can't use the vents, that'll take ages." Spider-Man argued.

They both looked around the room, then Ghost Spider spotted a window on the ceiling.

"Look!" she said.

Spider-Man turned as she pointed at it.

"Right. That's our ticket outta here." he said.

They both web-zipped towards the window, landing on either side of it, then Spider-Man pulled it open. Ghost Spider crawled out of the window and onto the roof, then Spider-Man followed her and closed the window shut.

"Phew. That was close." he sighed, turning to her.

"Yeah. Come on. We'd better get back to your place fast." Ghost Spider said. "Who knows what time it is."

Spider-Man nodded, before they both ran along the rooftop. They both then jumped off it, then began swinging away as fast as they could, back towards the Parker House.

After making it back to the Parker House, Spider-Man and Ghost Spider were perched on the rooftop.

"Talk about a long night." Ghost Spider yawned.

"I won't argue there." Spider-Man said. "Good thing it's the summer, which means we can sleep in."

"Yeah, true." Ghost Spider agreed.

They both crawled down towards Peter's bedroom, then he opened up the window, then they both climbed inside.

"I'll get changed outside." he said, picking up his pyjamas.

"Okay." Ghost Spider said, closing the window.

She took her mask off as he left the room, then a few minutes later, after they'd both changed into their pyjamas, they sat on Peter's bed.

"So, we've been out for almost three hours." Peter sighed, staring at the clock.

Gwen turned and saw the clock said 1am, meaning Peter was right, as they'd left at 10pm.

"Yeah, looks like it." Gwen said. "Guess we'll have to discuss what we found out in the morning."

"Guess we will." Peter said. "Night, night."

"Night, night, Pete." Gwen said, kissing his cheek.

She got off the bed and got into her sleeping bag, then fell asleep, as Peter got under his bed covers and stared at the ceiling, thinking about what they'd learnt at Oscorp.

"We'll go over it properly in the morning. Hopefully it'll help us figure out who this Green Goblin is." he thought. "At least we know he's the guy who murdered Mr. Osborn's assistant."

He turned onto his side, and then fell asleep, his thoughts full of what they'd found out.
