CHAPTER 26: PRISONER

Both Kai and Inuyasha gave a smirk. Inuyasha leaned into Menomaru slightly so that his head was next to his and gave a feral growl in warning.
"You killed my nephews...The heir to the West and caused my best friend great pain...What should we do with him, I wonder?" He asked Kai with a smirk and Kai smirked back then looked at Menomaru.
"Now that is a very good question, Lord Inuyasha...I do remember Lord Sesshomaru stating that he wanted this filth returned to him alive but he never specified what kind of condition he was to be in...Maybe...Maybe we could teach him a little lesson of our own. You see, Menomaru...Lord Inuyasha here is Lord Sesshomaru's younger half brother. I'm sure you knew this already, but I'm sure you didn't know that he and Lady Kagome are very good friends. Though I personally do not know Lady Kagome, I have heard of her talents and of how caring she is. She has been able to earn my loyalty and respect from afar. You know for a fact that I have been in Lord Sesshomaru's employ as his First General for a very long time and he has always had my respect along with my unyielding loyalty. You, my dear Menomaru, opened a cell in Lord Sesshomaru's dungeon the moment you kidnapped Lord Katsu and Lord Ryusaki. The moment you decided to kill them, however...You signed your own death warrant." Kai growled that last sentence and Inuyasha growled with him.
You see, Kai has a soft spot for children. When he saw first hand what the deaths of his Lord's pups did to him, his heart had shattered and cried silently to himself. When he saw his Lady come through the treeline, he wanted to stop her in order to save her from the horrid sight of her children lying lifeless on the cold ground, but Inuyasha had beat him to it. Sesshomaru even helped us with our final battle with Naraku. Kagome was truly amazing. While Sesshomaru and I had Naraku distracted, Kagome was able to get close enough to snatch the Shikon Jewel from his body, instantly purifying it. I had never seen anything like it. I must admit, Kikyo is a very powerful priestess, but Kagome is so much stronger. I mean, for her to actually transform into a huge black Inu and still have her spiritual powers. Everyone knows that holy powers and demonic powers are polar opposites and most importantly, natural enemies. For her to house both powers within her little body just goes to show how powerful she really is. No one knows what the extent of her powers are, not even Sesshomaru. But, honestly...I think she might be even more powerful than Sesshomaru." Inuyasha said with a smile.
"That does make sense. From what I've heard, Lady Kagome is a very sweet woman and treats everyone as an equal. Even the soldiers in Lord Sesshomaru's army and allied armies. I've heard tales that she would walk their encampments, taking hands in her own and praying for their safety along with return to their families. They've said that her aura is so vast that it reaches almost the entirety of the Western Lands. For one to have an aura that strong really says something. I personally haven't experienced it, but I've been told that her aura is soothing and brings peace to troubled minds." Kai said admiringly with a smile which caused Inuyasha's own smile to grow wider.
"Yeah, that sounds like Kagome alright." Inuyasha said fondly. "When she wished the jewel away, everything about her changed, yet stayed the same at the same time. I know that doesn't make much sense but that's the best way I know how to describe it." Inuyasha said.
While Kai and Inuyasha were talking, Menomaru tried to make a break for it. Obviously he didn't get very far before he felt claws dig into the back of his shoulder, ripping flesh open and he yelped in pain as he fell to the ground. He looked behind him to find Kai flexing his bloody claws before he snatched him up by his hair causing Menomaru to flinch at the pain.

Teeth and claws elongated to ridiculous lengths and his growl was deep, sinister even.
To be honest, everyone present, save Sesshomaru of course, slightly cowered and whimpered, even Inuyasha as his ears flattened timidly against the top of his head.

"They found him..." Was his reply and she choked on a gasp. Sesshomaru pulled her into a tight embrace as her entire form trembled and her knees gave out. Her hands caught the back of his kimono for support and she began to weep quietly. He gathered her in his arms and made his way to their futon.

Kai and Inuyasha stood in the corner quietly, waiting for Sesshomaru to give them any orders. Sesshomaru formed his green poison whip and infused it with he youki, making it even stronger. With a few flicks of his wrist, his whip connected and Menomaru writhed in pain. Sesshomaru's chuckle was deep and it startled everyone else in the room.
Suddenly, Sesshomaru's poisonous claws connected to Menomaru's torso, leaving deep lacerations.
It was then that Kagome walked in with Atreus. When her eyes fell to Menomaru, she scowled with narrowed eyes. Her growl reverberated throughout the room. She made her way in front of him. Sesshomaru stepped aside and watched his mate, excited to see what she would do.
She grabbed a flogger, one with sharp points and flung the straps at him, listening to the tearing of his flesh and blood spraying. Sesshomaru watched with a smile that reached his eyes has his mate continued to flog Menomaru relentlessly.

"I will execute him myself. Heal some of his worst wounds and do as you please with him. I wish to join my mate in our personal hot springs." Sesshomaru stated and Inuyasha rolled his eyes.
"It's bad enough that the both of you smelled heavily of sex already, but do you have to do that now?" Inuyasha grumbled and Sesshomaru's eyes settled on him.

So, in this chapter, we see Kai's more violent persona show itself. As mentioned before in the story, he is actually Sesshomaru's dungeon master. This includes torturing prisoners as he seeing fit, unless Sesshomaru himself decided to intervene. I know that Inuyasha didn't really do much to Menomaru but that's because Inuyasha has never been one for torture. In this case, he would be more than happy to watch as Sesshomaru and Kai handle the torture themselves.
What do y'all think of Kagome being so savage? We all know that Sesshomaru always has been, but I really wanted to show Kagome's rage at what Menomaru had done.
