Chapter 26: Mal the Dragon Princess

Mal's POV

Tomorrow is Family Day at Auradon Prep and everyone is super excited to see their family tomorrow on Family Day. I don't understand why everyone is excited about Family Day. Headmaster Goodwin said that everyone has to go to Family Day. I was getting my stuff out of my locker for my Chemistry class before I saw my boyfriend Carlos standing by my locker.

Carlos: Hey Mal, so are you looking forward for Family Day tomorrow?

Me: Nope, I don't understand why we have to go anyways when are parents are still stuck on the Isle. Even if our parents wanted to come, I wouldn't want my mother to be there because she would just ruined it.

Carlos: I'm not looking forward to Family Day either but, everything is going to be alright my Dragon Princess because we have each other.

Later that day me and my friends Carlos, Evie and Jay were walking to our Goodness 101 class when Carlos dog started following us. Somehow Dude escaped the boys' dorm room I guess Jay forgot to shut the door when he went back to his dorm room after lunch to grab his Goodness 101 textbook that he left in his room that he forgot to bring to school this morning. Class was about ready to start and we didn't have enough time to drop off Dude in the boys' dorm room right before class starts. So, Carlos just carried Dude to class and he told Headmaster Goodwin that Dude accidentally escape his room and he didn't have enough time to bring Dude back to his dorm room. Headmaster Goodwin was nice enough to let Carlos bring Dude to class.

Fairy Godmother: So, tomorrow is Family Day at Auradon Prep which means we have no classes tomorrow and Friday for the Coronation. Since we don't have class tomorrow your assignment for this class is to meet your parent's worst enemies on Family Day and prove to them that you're not like your parents. Evie will be meeting Snow White and King Florian, Mal will be meeting Queen Aurora and King Phillip, Carlos will be meeting Anita and Roger Radcliffe, and Jay will be meeting Queen Jasmine and King Aladdin.

Me: There's no way I'm meeting the heroes of my mother's fairytale.

Fairy Godmother: Mal, you have to do this assignment or else you will failed this class. The point of this assignment is to be a learning experience for all of you.

Me: Fine, whatever I'll do the assignment.

Fairy Godmother: Anyways as you guys know that tomorrow is Family Day at Auradon Prep. Now since your parents can't be here due to distance, we've arranged a special treat for you guys.

Fairy Godmother went on this website called Zoom where you can do video calls online to talk to your friends and family. Recently the Isle's wifi have improved all thanks to Ben who arranged that to make the Isle a better place so that students can use the internet for school.

Maleficent: I don't see anything, nor do I hear anything.

Fairy Godmother: Kids.

Maleficent: Is it on?

Jafar: Just press enter.

Maleficent: Can I please have the remote? Is this thing even on? Ugh, it's broken. Ugh! I hate electronic equipment.

Evil Queen: Evie, it's mommy. Oh! Look how beautiful you are. Oh, you know what they say, the poison apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Maleficent: Don't you mean the weeds?

Cruella: Ooh! Who's the old bat?

Me: This is Headmaster Faith Goodwin or better known as Fairy Godmother.

Maleficent: Still doing tricks with those eggplants?

Fairy Godmother: I turned a Pumpkin into a beautiful Carriage for Cinderella.

Maleficent: You really couldn't give Cinderella til one A.M.? I mean really. What, the hamsters had to be back on their little wheels?

Fairy Godmother: They were mice not hamsters. They were mice.

Me: Okay, we get it Fairy Godmother.

Fairy Godmother: They were mice.

Me: Hi, mom.

Maleficent: Mal! I miss you.

Jafar: Yeah, you children are never far from our thoughts.

Me: I got it.

Maleficent: When is the Coronation so we can know when to watch it live?

Me: It's this Friday at 10 A.M.

Cruella: I got a question Carlos. Is that a dog?

Carlos: Yes, it's this is Dude.

Cruella is crazy obsessed with dogs she has this dog stuff animal that she likes to talk to as if it's real just like what she is doing right now.

Cruella: Oh, yes, yes, baby, I do understand. That dog would make the perfect size for earmuffs.

Carlos: Carlos: Carlos: He's the perfect size for a pet.

Cruella: Oh!

Carlos: This dog loves me, and I love him. And for your information I have always knew that your dog is just a stuff animal.

I have known Carlos for years and I have never seen him have the guts to stand up to his abusive mother like that.

Jafar: Oh burn!

Cruella: Oh, why don't you go sell a toaster, you two-bit salesman?

Jafar: People who talk to stuff animals shouldn't throw stones.

Cruella: Oh, well people who sell toasters shouldn't use mixed metaphors.

Then Cruella and Jafar just kept arguing with each other until Fairy Godmother ended the Zoom called.

Fairy Godmother: I'm so sorry guys.

Jay: Thank you Fairy Godmother for the special treat.

After class I saw Maria go up to Audrey and Ellen in the hallway. Maria looked so excited for some reason. I wonder why she so excited to tell her friends something. So, I listened into their conversation with Audrey and Ellen.

Maria: Audrey and Elle you will not believe who just asked me out to the Coronation Ball?

Elle: Who?

Maria: Roderick Radcliffe he asked me to be his girlfriend and he asked me to be his date to the Coronation Ball. I'm so happy that my long-time crush asked me to be his girlfriend and to go to the Coronation Ball with him.

Ellen: I'm so happy for you Maria. I'm going to the Coronation Ball with my betrothed Prince Elias Frost.

Then I saw Ben's sister Addie walked by. Evie went up to Addie and started talking to her.

Evie: So, Addie are you excited about your brother's Coronation Ball?

Addie: Nope, I could care less about the Coronation Ball.

Evie: But, it's your brother's Coronation Ball you have to come.

Addie: I know I should go to my brother's Coronation Ball but, I don't want to go because I don't like Balls I would rather stay at home and read than go to any Ball. My parents told me that I don't have to go to the Coronation Ball if I don't want to go just as long as I attend my brother's Coronation.

After school Carlos and Jay came over to my dorm room that I share with Evie because she wanted us to try on our Coronation outfits that she made for us. Evie handed me this gorgeous purple lilac gown with several layers of ruffles that she made for me to wear to the Coronation.

Me: Wow, Evie it's gorgeous.

Evie: Go try it on.

I went into the bathroom to try on the dress which surprisingly fit me perfectly. After I was done changing my clothes I walked out of the bathroom.

Carlos: Wow, Mal that dress makes you look like a Princess.

Me: That's very sweet of you Carlos but, I'm not a real Princess.

Carlos: I know you aren't a real Princess but to me you're my Dragon Princess.

I couldn't help but, smile at the compliment then I just wrapped my hands around my amazing boyfriend.
