Tree Hill Emergency Waiting Room
"Move out of the way Brooke!" Peyton demanded.
"Like hell i will. Have you not caused enough hurt and pain to last a lifetime! She doesn't belong here." Brooke stated.
"Ms. Davis according to what Peyton has told us she has every right to be here." One of the officers said.
"I imagine the two of you have been. Listening to nothing but lies the entire ride here. Let me clarify things. As an eye witness. Peyton tried to kill her ex husband who i am now engaged too. Instead of that happening. Sawyer shielded her father and got shot."
"Peyton needs to be removed before Lucas comes back. Otherwise what happens isn't under my control." Brooke advised.
"Will you just shut up already! This is a family matter! Sawyer is my daughter! What happens here isn't any of you're business!" Peyton yelled.
"Any animal can birth Peyton. None of that makes you a mother. I can't help but imagine what Anna and Ellie would think of the woman and mother you became." Brooke threw back.
The expression on Peyton's face hardened.
"Watch you're back. Now get out of my way!" Peyton yelled.
""You aren't going anywhere near Sawyer!" Lucas exclaimed. Rushing over to Brooke's side.
"Lucas please! You can't let that last weak moment be all i get with her! I love her you know that!" Peyton pleaded. Tears running from her eyes.
"I want her gone. There is a list of people allowed to see Sawyer and she isn't on it. I apologize for the waste of time this trip was." Lucas informed the officers.
It wasn't until she was out of the hospital. Did a pair of doctors emerge from Sawyer's room.
"At this point she made it through surgery. But there was damage in the brain she had multiple seizures."
" A seizure isa burst of uncontrolled electrical activity between brain cells (also called neurons or nerve cells) that causes temporary abnormalities in muscle tone or movements (stiffness, twitching or limpness), behaviors, sensations or states of awareness."
"Yet she's calmed and is stable. It's going to touch and go for the next 48 hours so i advise all of you go home and get some rest. Feel free to visit in the morning." The doctor proclaimed.
"Thank you we'll do that." Lucas replied.
He then turned to Brooke.
"You and the boys go home. I'm gonna spend the night." Lucas announced.
"I can stay too." Brooke replied.
"We all can dad." Jude added in.
"It's been a long enough day for all of us. No reason to be stuck here any longer. I'll be fine. I just want to keep Sawyer company tonight." Lucas said.
"Alright. Whatever you need. I'll bring some stuff by." Brooke said. Wrapping her arms around her sons as they left the hospital.

Awhile Later
Sawyer's Hospital Room
Lucas pulled the blanket over her small frame. And put around the room a few items from home.
"You are the topic of conversation with everyone. I spoke with today. Peyton's gone. She's in police custody. I promise you. Me. Brooke and Jake will make sure you get justice."
"You had such an eventful day. It's time for you to rest and recover."
"You're tough. Strong. Stubborn. Full of life. My butterfly. Never not growing and evolving into a new verison of yourself."
"You can't stop fighting to come back to us."
""You can't leave me like this."
"I remember when you were 4 or 5. You used to follow me around like a shadow. The minute i got home from the office. You were glued to me. I was supposed to protect you."
"I'm the one who should be laying in this hospital."
Lucas grabbed ahold of her hand in his.
A home video playing on the tv. In the background.
As Lucas's sobs filled the room. Along the hum of the monitors.
