25.- Prologue II: Monk Kalevit
The Biodome Arena is being occupied by the dying body of one Kurtis Trent. A monk, with the guard of two Lux Veritatis skeletons enters the dome to take his body away. "Who are you?" Gunderson asks commandingly. The monk doesn't engage in conversations, he just emits a big flash of light that leaves Gunderson blinded.
Of course, Gunderson has more than sight as a guide and starts chasing the Monk towards places yet not explored by the Cabal. "The long route," as Ms. Croft once described it. An unexplored part of the Lux Veritatis stronghold built around the now raided Vault of Trophies. "They still haven't fallen," the monk thinks. "I better hurry up, he is important to our cause."
Kurtis Trent is left over a casket that is embedded with the alchemy of light. "Oh no," the monk thinks. "I've forgotten what matters the most." A voice is heard from the shining casket.
BURN HIM! BURN HIM WITH THE LIGHT!
The monk differs, he just goes straight towards Gunderson and then dodges him. Gunderson realises this and starts following the monk before he loses his trail. The member of the Cabal will not realize what is being kept in that casket. The monk makes it back into the Biodome Arena, and he sees the Chirugai in there, but he ignores it and keeps running further into Cabal territory, where Gunderson bests him and corners him. The monk tries to use Alchemy of the Light against Gunderson, but he merely reflects it. This leaves the body of the monk smoldered, but his robes untarnished.
Unbeknown to Gunderson, the monk's plan has succeeded. An angel has grabbed the Chirugai and has followed its guide to its true owner.
KILL HIM! KILL HIM SO WE CAN END THE GREAT WORK!
The angel ignores the voice of her demons and lets the Chirugai dance around his owner. Her job here is done. Time to go home for a while.
