Pokémon Crimson Gold

Chapter 26: Crystal

Not long after his battle with Silver, Ethan ran off to a Pokémon Center to get his Pokémon healed up, instead of sitting at the center like he usually did he left the town and watched the stars.

On his mind, more than even his own Pokémon, was Lyra. He was ashamed of himself, for how he treated her, and now all he could do was apologize, but he couldn't do it over the Pokégear, he had to apologize to her in person, but he had no clue where she was.

It was then when Ethan noticed a girl sitting on a bench near the court he had faced Silver, from afar she looked like Lyra.

"T-there she is." Ethan quietly muttered as he made his way over there.

"Hey, I think I need to apologize." Ethan said, putting his hand on her soldier.

The girl turned around; Ethan was surprised to see she wasn't Lyra. She was a fit young girl with fair skin. She had teal hair, and wore a white jacket, a crimson-colored turtleneck, along with yellow bike shorts.

"Looking for someone else?" She asked, Ethan sighed and nodded.

"My mistake, sorry about that." Ethan said as he turned around to go.

"Hey." The girl said, trying to stop him.

"Oh, I don't have any Pokémon on me right now if you're looking for a battle." Ethan told her.

"That's okay, I'm not looking for a battle." The girl said, easing Ethan. "Doesn't the city look beautiful from here?"

"It does, I'm guessing you're not from around here?" Ethan asked.

"No, actually Ecruteak is my hometown, I'm just visiting." She told Ethan.

"Visiting, then what're you doing over here?" Ethan said.

"Same as you I suppose." The girl said. "Or maybe rather my time here is already complete.

"Who are you?" Ethan finally asked.

"My name is Crystal, but most people call me Kris." She told Ethan.

"I'm Ethan." Ethan told her, sitting beside her.

"I know who you are." Kris said.

"What? Oh, I see, you saw me in Oak's show?" Ethan guessed.

"I know you from Oak's show, I know you from New Bark Town, I know you from Violet City, I know you from Azalea, Goldenrod..." Kris said.

"How do you...?" Ethan said confused.

"And I know you from all that commotion you started with that girl just now." Kris said.

Ethan turned away. "T-that wasn't me, except it was... and I wish it wasn't."

"I know, I know." Kris replied. "I've seen a lot of this world, made my fair share of mistakes as well."

"Forgive me for saying this, but you make it sound like you're all wise and experienced, but you don't look much older than me." Ethan said.

Kris reached in her bag, pulling out a carrying case, when she opened it, it shocked Ethan, she revealed to him all eight of the Johto badges.

"A-all eight badges, well why don't you go challenge the Indigo league, have you already?" Ethan asked.

"I told you, my time here is already complete, it has no value to me now, challenging the Indigo league, that was just a dream of a fragile little girl from far ago." Kris said. "I'm far more interested in you, Ethan."

"You shouldn't be, I'm a terrible person. I'm sure you know, after all you saw how I treated that girl, right?" Ethan said.

"Is she your friend?" Kris asked, gazing into Ethan's eyes.

"She was, but then we separated thanks to some elementary bullshit, excuse my language, and now when she comes back trying to get close with me again, I blew it." Ethan said.

"What exactly happened?" Kris queried.

"Well, a few years ago we were best friends, but I guess that wasn't good enough, I was always the kid that got picked on in school, right? Maybe cause my father was a borderline deadbeat or maybe because I was weird. She also got picked on for hanging out with me, and eventually she began to go all cold on me, I guess to save her reputation." Ethan said.

"So, she's disloyal?" Kris said. "Then why even feel bad in the first place if she caused you so much pain. You must love her? Right?"

"I don't know..." Ethan said. "I did, and maybe I still do, but maybe I don't. I don't know what I feel anymore, do I love her? do I hate her? why did I lash out on her? have I forgiven her? have I forgive myself?"

Ethan and Kris just sat on the bench for a minute without talking, they just watched the stars and stayed silent.

Kris finally turned to Ethan. "If you want to apologize to her, then you must have forgiven her."

"You're right, I've forgave her, and I do love her." Ethan admitted. "But after that, is it even a matter of apologizing? Maybe I deserve for her to hate me."

"You don't deserve to be hated though; I can tell from talking to you you're a good person. You've made your mistakes, thus why you're sitting here talking to a nobody like me." Kris said. "But I can tell inside you is the heart and soul of a legend in the making."

"T-thanks for trying to cheer me up, it's people like you that keep me going." Ethan said. "Sometimes it feels like the world's out to get me, and sometimes I think I have it coming, so thank you."

Kris smiled and stood up. "There's still time to make it up to Lyra, Ethan. If you love her, be it as a friend or more, you can't let that go, I've had many regrets, but sitting here talking to you today is one of my highlights."

"I must be off now. But I just want you to know, I have a feeling we shall meet again..." Kris said smiling.

A gust of wind hit Ethan making him turn his head away, as soon as he looked back, Kris was gone, nowhere to be found.

"Kris!" Ethan called out her name, but no one answered.

H-how did she, know Lyra's name... Ethan wondered.

….

The next day, after Ethan got his Pokémon healed up, he and Bayleef set their way to Morty's gym, to take on the Gym leader.

"We're finally here, Bayleef, are you ready?" Ethan asked.

"Bay!" Bayleef reassured him.

"Alright then, here goes nothing." Ethan said knocking on the door.

About a minute later a man showed up, the referee.

"Here to challenge Morty?" He assumed.

"Yes, he here at the moment?" Ethan asked.

"Yes, I'm Dillian by the way." The Referee said.

"Ethan," Ethan told him.

Dillian led Ethan to the stadium, the room was completely pitch dark, much like the burned tower was, Ethan could feel a spooky presence surrounding him.

It was then when Ethan heard a clap of the hands, and the light's turned on.

Facing him on the opposite side of the stadium was Morty, he stood there with his arm crossed.

"Ethan," Morty said. "I was there when the commotion happened at Burned Tower, what happened?"

"It was my fault, I got into a Pokémon I couldn't get of. Kind of got the place set on fire, but somehow the place is fine now. It doesn't make sense to me." Ethan said, trying to get a grasp on everything.

"You don't see it, but it must have been the legendary trio of Entei, Suicune, and Raikou who put out that fire." Morty told Ethan. "How else did you survive?"

"I wonder if you're right." Ethan said. "We can talk more once the battle's over."

"Now, may the battle between Gym leader Morty and Challenger Ethan begin. This will be a three on three. May you both bring out your first Pokémon!" Dillian declared.

"Bayleef, let's show Morty what we're made of!" Ethan yelled, Bayleef happily jumped on the Stadium ground.

"Bay!" She yelled, giving a confident shout, she was ready for action.

"Bad idea using Bayleef, I already saw all her moves during its fight with that Houndour." Morty smirked pulling out a Pokéball. "Go, Mismagius!"

"Magius!" Mismagius snarled. It was tall and spooky looking.

"I've never seen that Pokémon before." Ethan said, pulling out his Pokédex.

"Mismagius, the Magical Pokémon. It cries sound like incantations to torment the foe. It appears where you least expect it."

"This one isn't native to Johto is it?" Ethan asked.

"You're half correct, although it evolves from Misdreavus, this Pokémon was actually discovered in the Sinnoh region. I'm probably one of the only Trainers here in Johto to have one." Morty said.

"Let's see how strong it is! Bayleef, go ahead and use Vine Whip!" Ethan said, Bayleef shot Vines from the ground to try and grab the Mismagius.

"Mismagius, dodge!" Morty yelled. Mismagius then quickly dodged the vines, avoiding Bayleef's hold on it.

"Now Hex!" Morty commanded.

Mismagius eyes glowed a crimson red, it shot an insanely quick beam of light that couldn't be avoided or seen.

"Bay!" Bayleef shouted after getting hit.

"Take it Bayleef and unleash it two-fold! Now use Razor leaf!" Ethan said.

Bayleef swung her leaf at Mismagius, but Mismagius avoided them all.

"Mystical Fire!" Morty yelled.

"What, fire!? Ethan shouted surprised by the move.

"Mismagius shot the blast at Bayleef, but Bayleef managed to dodge, the flame hit the ground and instantly vanished.

That thing has fire type moves. I'm going to need an entirely new strategy if I'm going to win this. Ethan thought.

"Mismagius, Shadow Ball!" Morty yelled.

Mismagius charged its beam and shot at Bayleef, who even though dodged, her leg was blasted in the process.

"No, Bayleef!" Ethan yelled.

Bayleef's leg was injured, she was still ready to continue though.

"Yes, now Mismagius, Bayleef is injured, Mystical Fire and end it!" Morty yelled.

Mismagius launched a huge Mystical Fire, its heat could be felt by Ethan. If the attack hit Bayleef it was over.

"Bayleef!" Ethan yelled. "Use Vine Whip!"

The blast crashed to the ground, instantly vanishing upon hitting. It was then when it was clear Bayleef had somehow disappeared. "What!" Morty yelled.

Morty looked up to see Bayleef pouncing down at Mismagius, it brung up its Light Screen and used it to smack Mismagius into the ground.

"H-how!" Morty yelled.

"I'll tell you, Bayleef used the chandelier up there to dodge and swing with Vine Whip, meaning it could dodge the Mystical Fire." Ethan gloated. "Now Bayleef don't stop there, unleash a point-blank Razor Leaf!"

Bayleef listened and fired many Razor Leaves directly at the knocked down Mismagius, so much so to the point where she was lifted from the ground, causing an explosion.

Bayleef jumped back and landed on her fours. Even though her leg was injured she still wasn't letting up.

Morty smiled and laughed. "Not many challengers are as resourceful as you, using the battlefield to your advantage, this may be an interesting battle, for both of us."

"Now Curse!" Morty said. Mismagius as it was levitating up, suddenly got struck with something and fell over once more.

"What!?" Ethan said, he noticed Bayleef struck with an invisible attack, however not one to the same extent.

"Curse, what is it?" Ethan asked.

"Since you can't do anything to stop it I'll just tell you, Curse is an attack which inflicts damage to the user, but also inflicts damage to the opposing Pokémon." Morty told Ethan. "The move inflicts damage to the opponent at a much slower rate, however..."

"Bayleef, heal up with Synthesis!" Ethan yelled, Bayleef listened, and way surrounded with white sparkles signifying its recovery.

"You can try and postpone it, but Bayleef will soon be defeated, be it by the curse, or from one of my Pokémon's moves." Morty smirked.

"Mismagius, Hex!" Morty yelled. Mismagius once again shot a rapid fast beam, knocking into Bayleef. On top of that, Bayleef was then once again hit by the Curse.

"Bay!" She screamed.

"Err, fine then Bayleef let's end this fast! Use Vine Whip on the chandelier once again." Ethan yelled.

"That trick again!? It won't work, Mismagius, shield yourself with the Mystical Fire." Morty said.

"Bayleef, pull down!" Ethan yelled.

"Bay!" Bayleef yelled as she pulled at the heavy chandelier with her Vine Whip, pulling it down, breaking it, and smashing it into Mismagius, the chandelier shattered into a million pieces upon hitting it. The lights were out, but now a fire blazed in the center of the room, giving light to both challenger and gym leader.

Mismagius was knocked out cold, in no shape to continue.

"Mismagius is unable to battle! Gym leader Morty, please bring out your second Pokémon." Dillian announced.

"Mismagius return." Morty said, returning his Pokémon. "You had an interesting strategy, I respect it." Morty said.

"Just so you know, if you lose, you'll have to pay for that chandelier." Morty said.

"You know what, fine my me." Ethan agreed with no fuss.

"Hmph, Gengar go!" Morty yelled, throwing another Pokéball.

"Gengar!" Gengar yelled.

"Gengar?" Ethan said checking his Pokédex.

"Gengar, the Shadow Pokémon. It steals heat from its surroundings. If you feel a sudden chill, it is certain that a Gengar appeared."

Gengar blew with its tongue at Bayleef, sending spit everywhere.

Bayleef was then hit again with another Curse, inflicting even more damage.

"Bayleef!" Ethan yelled.

"Gengar! Dark Pulse!" Morty yelled.

Gengar obeyed and shot a black beam of energy at Bayleef.

Bayleef dodged the blast, moving to the side.

"Hypnosis!" Morty yelled.

"Bayleef dodge it!" Ethan shouted.

Bayleef tried to step to the right, but it was then when she stepped on glass from the chandelier, not allowing for her to move for just a split second.

The hypnosis hit Bayleef dead on putting her to sleep.

"Bayleef's asleep!?" Ethan fret.

"Now end it Gengar! Dream Eater!" Morty said confidently.

Gengar shot out a beam that hit the unconscious Bayleef, taking her energy and stealing it for himself.

"Bayleef wake up!" Ethan yelled.

"I'll admit, for your Bayleef to survive this long, it is impressive, but it is over now!" Morty said, crossing his arms and turning around.

Bayleef, while unconscious, was once again hit by Curse, she woke up and fell to the ground, unable to continue.

"Bayleef is unable to battle! Challenger Ethan, bring forth your second Pokémon." Dillian announced.

"Bayleef!" Ethan said, rushing over to his unconscious starter. Ethan dropped down on his knees, and gently shook Bayleef.

Bayleef looked at Ethan as she came to, "Bayyy..." she said.

"I'm really proud of you girl, you did really amazing out there." Ethan said, putting his hand on Bayleef's neck and petting her. Bayleef smiled and rubbed her cheek on Ethan's, making Ethan chuckle.

"Send in your next Pokémon already!" Morty spoke up, getting bored.

"S-sorry," Ethan laughed, he helped Bayleef up and took her off the battlefield.

"Alright, Flaaffy! I choose you!" Ethan said, throwing Flaaffy's Pokéball.

"Flaaffy!" Flaaffy exclaimed, ready to battle.

"A Flaaffy, good choice." Morty said.

If this Gengar is anything similar to Silver's Haunter, then it could have that Destiny Bond move. I've already seen three of its moves. Dark Pulse, Hypnosis, and Dream Eater, even if it doesn't have Destiny Bond, it will be very dangerous. Ethan thought.

"Alright Flaaffy, we won't let Gengar get a chance to attack, start with Thunder Shock!" Ethan yelled going first.

Flaaffy surged with electricity before sending a zap at Gengar.

Gengar was blasted by the attack, it was clear to Ethan this Gengar wasn't the fastest of foes, especially when juxtaposed with Flaaffy's lightning-fast Thunder Shock.

Gengar appeared from the smoke, it had clearly taken damage.

"Gengar!" Morty yelled.

"Flaaffy stay on the offensive with Fire Punch!" Ethan yelled.

Flaaffy charged enhanced his fist with flames, it lunged towards Gengar, its fire lighting up the room. Smashing his fist into Gengar.

Gengar fell to the ground damaged.

Okay, I need to think. Until I can come up with a plan, I need for Flaaffy to stay on the offensive. Ethan knew.

"Gengar, Dark Pulse!" Morty yelled, Gengar listened and shot a Dark Pulse straight for Flaaffy.

"Flaaffy, dodge!" Ethan yelled. Flaaffy moved to the side avoiding the blast.

"Flaaffy is my fastest Pokémon, yup. And it's quite strong as well, overpowering Gengar and out speeding it is the safest call indeed." Ethan said.

"You hear that Morty, your Destiny Bond isn't crap to Flaaffy!" Ethan yelled to Morty.

"Who said anything about Destiny Bond?" Morty softly laughed.

"Huh," Ethan said. He had assumed that was Gengar's final move.

"Gengar, Perish Song!" Morty said.

Gengar began to let out a loud eerie noise, instantly causing Ethan to cover his ears. Bayleef plugged her ears with Vine Whip.

"What... Is that!?" Ethan couldn't help but wonder.

Flaaffy couldn't help but feel drawn to the music, it knew it was creepy and bad, but it was intrigued in some way.

"Flaaffy cover your ears!?" Ethan yelled.

Flaaffy shook his head and flipped back, making sure to cover his ears.

"It doesn't matter Perish Song has already hit, this round is over, for the both of them!" Morty snickered.

"Err, Flaaffy, Fire Punch!" Ethan yelled.

Flaaffy rushed to the singing Gengar and smacked it with a Fire Punch, disrupting the song.

"Now leap and use Thunder Shock!" Ethan yelled.

Flaaffy bounced on the Gengar, who was down on the ground, and jumped up to charge with electricity.

"Gengar, Dark Pulse!" Morty commanded, Gengar shot a Dark Pulse, which bashed into Flaaffy's Thunder Shock, the Dark Pulse easily overpowered Flaaffy's Thunder Shock and blasted Flaaffy.

"Flaaffy!" Ethan shouted.

Flaaffy fell to the ground but flipped last second landing on his feet.

"Good Flaaffy, now once again, Thunder Shock!" Ethan yelled, Flaaffy listened and zapped the Gengar, not giving it any time to dodge.

Gengar fell to the ground, it tried to get back up, but was clearly on the verge of fainting.

"I win this round." Ethan said, wiping his sweat.

"Sorry, but the battle was over as soon as Gengar used Perish song. "Morty flexed, it was then when both Flaaffy and Gengar were surrounded by a faint, black energy, as soon as the energy left them, Flaaffy and Gengar both had no energy left to continue.

"Flaaffy and Gengar are both unable to battle. Both Trainers, send in your final Pokémon." Dillian said.

"H-how!" Ethan freaked.

"Perish Song, a move which guarantees both the user and the opposing Pokémon will be wiped out after a few moves." Morty said, shocking Ethan.

"Flaaffy return! You were awesome out there. Thanks as always." Ethan said, returning Flaaffy to his Pokéball.

"My last Pokémon, go Drifblim!" Morty said, releasing a Pokémon.

"Drifblim!" Drifblim cried.

"D-Drifblim, I've never seen or heard of this one either?" Ethan said, scanning it with his Pokédex.

"No data!" The Pokédex said.

"No data!" Ethan freaked.

"A Pokémon I got during my trip in the Sinnoh region, your Pokédex I'm guessing only has information on Pokémon from Kanto or Johto, or their evolutions discovered in other regions, right?" Morty asked.

"Yeah, pretty much," Ethan said.

"Challenger Ethan, select your final Pokémon!" Dillian said.

Okay, okay, this is tough... I have Togepi, or Eevee, the only moves I know Togepi has is Tackle and Metronome, and Metronome is too big a risk this late in the game. Ethan began to stress.

"Err, Eevee! I choose you!" Ethan said, throwing her Pokéball.

"Eevee!" Eevee barked.

"A normal type!?" Morty said. "I see, you must understand normal types are immune to ghost type moves."

"...But you should know, my Drifblim is a dual type, it is also a flying type, and normal type moves won't work on Drifblim either, either way you're at a disadvantage." Morty added.

"Eevee!" Ethan yelled.

Eevee turned to face Ethan.

"I know you can do this girl, together, we can do anything! I just know it!" Ethan encouraged her.

Eevee smiled and swiftly turned around, wagging her tail excitedly.

""Begin with Gust!" Morty commanded. Drifblim began to shoot a gust of wind at Eevee, which began to push her back.

"Eevee!" Ethan yelled. "Use the gust to your advantage, bounce back!"

Eevee understood what Ethan meant and fell back into Gust without putting up a fight. Eevee was pushed back into the air with the wind but used it to her advantage. Before Eevee could crash into the wall she reversed and pounced back at Drifblim using Quick Attack hard and fast enough she broke the ceiling she touched.

"Eeveeee!" Eevee roared.

"Quick Attack will phase through Drifblim, it's meaningless!" Morty laughed.

Eevee was a meter away from the Drifblim before Ethan commanded Eevee to use Bite, Eevee revealed her sharp teeth and sunk it into Drifblim.

"Drifblim no!" Morty freaked.

Eevee jumped back down landing on her two feet, although the fall did hurt her.

"Heh, using Quick Attack as leverage Eevee was way too fast for your Drifblimp or whatever it's called to attack." Ethan made clear to Morty.

"Hmph, not bad, but Drifblim won't lose just because Eevee has one dark type move." Morty told Ethan.

"Drifblim fly higher into the air and once again Gust!" Morty yelled.

Drifblim followed and rose to the air, before proceeding to send a Gust which if worked correctly would force Eevee to eat the dirt.

Eevee stuck her tail in the ground, to try and stay put, but she was having trouble.

"E-Eevee, if there's any move you have that I don't know, now would be a good time to use it!" Ethan told her.

Eevee turned her face to Ethan and nodded, she jumped slightly and dug into the ground. To Morty's dismay.

"Oh wow, Eevee knew Dig, perfect." Ethan said grateful.

"This will be easy." Morty said. "Drifblim, fly down to the ground where Eevee dug."

"What..?" Ethan said surprised.

Drifblim slowly levitated down, landing near the hole Eevee had dug up.

"Now, smoke Eevee out with Will O' Wisp!" Morty proclaimed.

"N-no! Eevee get out of there!" Ethan freaked.

Drifblim shot its fire into Eevee's hole, sending Eevee blasting out from the inside approximately 10 feet away from Drifblim. Smoke out from the hole and everything.

"Now, Will O' Wisp!" Morty said, now assured in victory. Drifblim began to charge a powerful looking Will O' Wisp directly at Eevee.

"Eevee, you have to get up, please!" Ethan bargained.

"It's too late, Eevee is out of here with this next attack, as expected, victory is mine." Morty gloated.

Eevee began to struggle to get up, and all Ethan could do was watch. Her entire body shook as the intensity of Drifblim's Will O' Wisp could be felt from that far away.

Eevee finally stood on all fours, she was still conscious and, in the game, albeit just barely.

"Ee...vee!" She let out a roar.

"Ethan, my Drifblim can strike your Eevee right now and take it out, or you can surrender, I'll let you make the choice." Morty gave Ethan the big ultimatum.

Drifblim remained there with its fire charged, ready to strike down Eevee at the drop of a hat.

Ethan smiled. "Eevee, what do you think?"

Eevee shook her head and barked, showing some confidence in winning this.

"Fine, Drifblim, Gust!" Morty called out to his Pokémon.

Drifblim listened and shot Eevee to the ground with Gust.

"Now, spread the flames to the Gust!" Morty commanded.

Drifblim complied and sent the Will O' Wisp to the flames, creating a tornado of fire, and it was heading towards Eevee. The gust was a deep red color and would be more than enough to take wipe out Eevee.

"Wait... I got it!" Ethan exclaimed. "Eevee, Swift and then use Gust!"

"I already told you, normal type moves won't work!" Morty yelled.

Eevee shook her tail sending many stars through the fire vortex, a second before she could be hit she successfully dug into the ground, avoiding the explosion which occurred.

Out from the explosion came Eevee's swift, which was no combined with the flames of Will O' Wisp, much to Morty's dismay.

"Thanks to your Will O' Wisp, Swift is now a fire type move, meaning it can affect Drifblim." Ethan boasted.

"Hmph, not bad." Morty said, again taken back by Ethan's creativity.

The blazed stars smashed each one by one into Morty's Drifblim, sending it crashing to the floor, and although it did damage, Drifblim managed to bounce back using levitation and catch itself midair.

"Now Eevee, Bite!" Ethan yelled.

Eevee broke from the ground right before the Drifblim, Eevee was face to face with the Drifblim, to its shock.

Congratulations Ethan, Morty thought closing his eyes, accepting defeat.

Eevee bit into Drifblim inflicting Super Effective damage, and just like that, Drifblim was easily taken out.

Drifblim crashed to the ground, it was down for the count.

"Drifblim is unable to battle, Challenger Ethan is the winner!" Dillian announced.

Ethan began to light up with excitement.

"Alright! Eevee, you did it!" He yelled at the top of his lungs.

Eevee turned around smiling and leapt into Ethan's arms, surprising the boy. Eevee had never shown affection of any kind, at least with a physical act like this, Ethan was even more happy with this than winning the battle.

"Thank you Eevee, I can't thank you enough." Ethan said, petting her, scratching her behind her ears, which she seemed to like.

Eevee let out a soft growl, almost like a purr, and snuggled deeper into Ethan's eyes.

Seeing Bayleef finally show affection made Bayleef smile, having a single tear in her eye.

"I'm going to spoil you so much, Eevee." Ethan said, Morty finally walked up to him, Fog badge in his hands.

"Congratulations Ethan, you've outsmarted me in many ways today." He spoke. "You should be proud of not only your Pokémon, but yourself."

Upon hearing this Ethan was reminded of how he treated Lyra the other day.

How could I be proud of myself...? He asked himself.

Ethan and Bayleef took notice of his sad expression, Ethan gently dropped Eevee to the ground to talk to Morty.

"We'll celebrate more later, Eevee, is that okay?" Ethan asked pulling out her Pokéball.

Eevee understood and nodded, Ethan had her return.

Morty handed Ethan the Fog badge, to which Ethan accepted, albeit not very happily.

"What's the matter?" Morty asked.

"Remember that girl you saw me with the other day. Her name was Lyra?" Ethan asked.

"Yeah, why wouldn't I?" Morty said.

"Did she challenge you, like she said she would?" Ethan said.

"No, haven't seen her, I heard some stuff happened to her, something with the fire." Morty said.

"Oh, I see." Ethan said. "Could you do me a favor, I have a lot to ask you, could you take a minute to speak with me?"

"Of course." Morty agreed.

"Alright." Ethan said, finally some things would hopefully make more sense to him.

Probably one of the better Gym matches for me to write in terms of how Ethan won, now as for Kris...
