Paradox
The samurai watched his opponent burning but the white flames did something different than flames normally do. It did not burn their bodies but instead burns their soul. Mors did not feel any pain but only peace. All of the anger, hate, and fear are gone. Little by little his soul burns into nothing.
Mors looked at the samurai one last time, wanting to see his eyes as he goes. He saw the samurai not liking what he did. He is filled with regret and thought of an alternative way to stop him. The samurai felt pity.
The white flame disappeared along with his soul.
"It is done." The samurai said. As he put it back in his sheath, the Eternal Inferno returned back into his sword. The entity Oblitus arrived to see the result of the battle.
Later, the samurai took the purple and red gems from Mors' gauntlet. Oblitus watched the mortal keeping two of the most powerful gems in the existence in his pocket. "So... we leave his body here?" He pointed Mors' soulless corpse.
"I'll take care of it. He needs a proper burial."
"But he is the enemy. Why give him one?" The entity asked.
"I'm not like you. No matter how terrible he has done, he deserved a proper grave."
"Unmarked?"
The samurai nodded. "Oblitus, how did he lose his arm?"
The entity looked like he hesitated to answer. "I don't know."
"You are an entity of time, right?"
"Erased timelines." He clarified. "But Mors's reign is over."
As the conflict ended, everyone in the palace returned and rejoiced. The prince was praised by his people including his friends. Soon his beloved wife Ashi returned to him with a bow.
"Ashi? Where have you been?"
Without the memory of her previous life, Ashi was puzzled by the prince's words. "You know me?"
"It's Jack. Don't remember?" The samurai was confused too and looked at the sisters. Ami just shrugged.
He soon recalled that Ashi held the golden cube. When he learned about her new family, the samurai figured out what Ashi did. Her sisters introduced themselves as well. The confused Ashi still welcomed them. The samurai was happy that Ashi has her wish.
Then Ami asked Ashi one question. "How do you know you can do that?"
Ashi replied. "A little voice told me."
The samurai and Ami got worried for a little bit.
When everything seemed to go normal, they were interrupted by a flash of light emerging between the samurai and Ashi.
Idea and her two heroes arrived at an undisclosed location far away from her enemies. The spearman and gunslinger were waiting for her next plan. But the entity was still troubled when the Samurai got the Eternal Inferno. "This is bad. This is not supposed to happen."
"It appears you lost, sister?" Dilek said, smiling to see her twin.
The Idea entity snarled at the goddess of possibilities. But then it gave her some thought and chuckled after realizing it.
Dilek doesn't hear her laugh. "What's so funny?"
"Since the gods interfered," Idea grabbed Dilek's head and started crushing her skull. "I'll break the rules of reality." Her two heroes moved back, fearing what's about to happen.
"My lady! If you do that…!" The spearman said.
"I know." Idea said.
The goddess began struggling, trying to break away from her twin's grasp. "What are you doing?! You are going to destroy us all!"
"Listen to me, my dear twin sister."
Dilek looked at her and see the darkness in her eyes. She knew that she has gone too far. The goddess can only do but put faith in anyone who can stop her twin for good. "No…"
Idea smirked. "Hear my final wish."
Light began to emit out through the cracks of the goddess's skull. Her power leaked like liquid light. Once she granted the last wish, her physical form burst into light leaving only golden dust. Her power surged throughout the world and other universes. Her death just broke reality… permanently.
Her death affected all throughout the multiverse.
A boy and his dog felt the cold chill in the wind.
A warrior of the elements just had a headache.
A frozen queen woke up.
And a spirit sensed the unbalance in his world.
When it is done, Idea looked at the remaining gems she possessed. The blue and green.
The flash of light formed itself into Dilek's old form. It took a few steps forward before it dropped right in front of the samurai and Ashi.
"Uh, Jack?" Ashi spoke his name. "What's that?"
He has no answer.
Upon seeing the corpse, Oblitus knew it is time. He reached his hand into his chest and pulled out gemstone. "Samurai! Takes this now!"
The samurai took it. "The Eye of Horatius. What do you want me to do?"
The dark entity answered. "Cut his arm, samurai."
"What?"
Suddenly, a time portal opened behind him. Without any warning, Oblitus kicked the prince into it. Everyone in the vicinity was shocked at what transpired. Ami drew her weapon towards the dark entity. "What did you do?"
Ashi on the other hand felt something. She didn't know what happened but her body responded on its own and jumped into the portal too.
"Ashi!" Ami witnessing her sister's action.
The dark entity answered to the former assassin. "Completing the paradox." The entity looked up to the sky. The citizens of the kingdom began to scream and panic. Ami saw the sky turned red and multiple planets emerging out of nowhere. "What are they?"
"Alternate Earths." The entity said as the planets collided with theirs.
As the samurai drifting through the timestream, Ashi reached out to him. She grabbed his leg and pulled him for an embrace. He felt dizzy seeing the past events moving past them. Ashi told him to close his eyes.
He did and embraced her closely.
But Ashi did not. She saw her past events with him. Even the ones in the future. She saw herself holding the golden cube and wished for a family in the past and she got it. The price is her memories wiped out making her life anew. Realizing what she did, she understood her goal.
"I understand."
"What?"
"The purpose of my wish to have a new but different life with you. Just two strangers meeting each other for the very first time."
"Do you remember me?" The samurai asked.
"No. Those memories are long gone." But she gave him a smile. "But we can make new ones."
Seeing her smile just gave him hope for the future. He held her hand and looked forward to their destination whatever it will be. They are ready to face any future challenges as they drifted towards the past. But one thing for sure they will be together forever.
