SCP: Birth Of The Legends
Chapter 25: The Ice Queen and The Grimm Queen.
[A/N: I must apologize for any mistake again mainly with the commas]
Kuriho, Serafall, Jennifer, and Yasaka were in the gardens of the Imperial Palace.
Adam was in front of them, sat leg-crossed while reading a book.
They tried to integrate him into the conversation but he didn't talk back. Nothing seemed to attract his attention, from calling him to teasing him.
"He's ignoring us," the Empress said surprised; hours ago he barely could maintain his composure in front of her.
"I don't think that he is the rude type. He looks too focused on that book," the devil commented.
After having their lovely time, they went to invite Adam to eat something and talk. Since they found him with Jennifer and Kuriho they invited them as well.
Serafall wanted to inform him about what he needed to know now that he was her servant.
"Now that I think about it, he has no evil pieces and doesn't have their abilities. Since he is not a devil, he might get some unwanted attention."
Serafall's thought wasn't made without evidence.
The Underworld had some "slight" racism against not pure-blooded devils or anything that wasn't from the Underworld.
She and the other three Maou used their political influence to begin changing that mindset, but it was a work in progress.
The Council always had the excuse that the Great 72 would never accept reincarnated devils and would be disappointed to know that their blood got mingled with non-devils.
Regardless of the Council's stubbornness the Underworld currently had more half-devils than pure-blooded.
It was a hard situation and a big strike to the elder's pride.
"So, pure-blooded devils have difficulties getting pregnant."
Adam's comment made Serafall sigh. "Hey, what are you reading?"
Silence, that was all she got.
The blond wasn't paying attention to her or anything around him, he was learning everything he could about devil physiology; when he is completely focused on learning his mind blocks everything.
He wouldn't normally have the confidence nor be relaxed enough to do it in a place where he wasn't used to. He just was able to do it because Kuriho helped him to calm down and Jennifer told him that she would be alert.
"Don't worry, Miss Leviathan. He is just too focused on the book," Jennifer explained while admiring him.
His expression was completely calmed, the emptiness in his eyes disappeared and was replaced by curiosity.
Reading was Adam's top 1 hobby and was the only thing that distracted him from his pain.
"Do you think that he will end soon? I have something to tell him," Serafall said while crossing her arms.
"If you touch him or simply say spider."
Jennifer's answer made the women in the room rose an eyebrow, Kuriho tried to remember why the word "spider" would do anything.
"I shouldn't say this, he hates people knowing about it but just in case you ever get the chance to see him in such a poor state."
After saying that, Jennifer walked towards him.
They looked at her waiting to see what was she going to do.
"Greg, a spider climbed up your arm!"
Adam jumped, screamed, and shook his arms then he realized what happened. "Galiana!"
"He looks upset," Yasaka said, and she wasn't wrong.
The blond crossed his arms and frowned, when the half-vampire opened his mouth to apologize he quickly turned around.
Jennifer placed herself in front of him and he did the same thing.
"William, stop being a child," she asked him.
Adam kept repeating the same action.
Serafall smirked, he was behaving just like a child.
Kuriho scratched her head and simply shrugged.
"I'll embrace you in front of the Empress and your new master," Jennifer threatened, her arms were in a position that made clear that she was ready to do it.
Adam raised his hands. "I give up."
"What were you reading that was much more important than me?" Serafall questioned in a tone similar to a tantrum.
"Pregnancy in supernatural beings."
He answered without thinking, he was really curious about it and was tempted to question Serafall but that would have been kind of unrespectful. Just when he remembered the fact that they were women, it was too late.
Normally, speaking about pregnancy involved the "process" before it.
"So, you want to have babies? I have no complaints."
Naturally, Kuriho was the first one to tease him.
Adam would deny her question but she got him; one of his wishes was to be a father and the image of Kuriho pregnant with a smile made his heart stop briefly.
After all, the life that would form inside her, would be the direct product of their love.
"What am I thinking?!"
Kuriho's expression showed surprise before turning into a smile that showed her sharp teeth. He was a romantic kid who desired a family but life twisted him a little.
"Don't get so excited, if someone will carry his children in the womb it'll be I."
Jennifer realized what her possessive behavior made her declare in front of the Empress and one of the four Maou. She apologized but to her surprise, the Empress herself teased her.
"I recommend you to mate with him if you want to have his first child. I can order my servants to get a room ready for you, just like I did with Kuriho-chan."
Adam and Jennifer were extremely blushed; while the half-vampire could endure it, Adam decided to see the grass.
The sudden fantasy of having a child with Jennifer made him smile for a second. Of course, none of them missed that.
"It's irrelevant right now," he said after coughing to recover his composure. "My lady, is there an explanation of how devils can absorb souls?"
The women reacted in different ways to express what they felt. They were totally surprised by how Adam addressed Serafall.
Jennifer rose an eyebrow and crossed her arms, she wanted him to call her like that.
Kuriho smiled, that took her with the guard down but opened a lot of doors to mess with him. Her telepathy could feel huge respect toward women, maybe that was one of the reasons why he was so shy around them.
"Seeing us with lust makes him ashamed, how cute!"
Yasaka was calmed, she instantly thought of her dead friend Masaru. He used to be incredibly polite too, always focused and altruist.
Serafall was blushed and genuinely surprised; his voice, posture, and gaze were that of a samurai.
"I don't know too well, sorry," the Maou apologized with a slightly nervous tone. "I'm a ruler of the Underworld, why did I answer like that?"
"I see."
The women blushed when they saw his involuntary pout before the disappointment.
"You are a cute child," Yasaka commented making Adam turn around. "Don't need to be so shy."
Jennifer looked at Adam's reaction and shook her head, he had to learn how to keep calm while surrounded by women.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm cute and all. Lady Serafall, are you planning to leave Kyoto?"
It wasn't that Adam wanted to leave Kyoto but he needed to talk with his mother and great-aunts to seek passage to the Bloody Palace.
"Not now, why do you ask?"
"It's nothing, I merely was curious."
That complicated his plan, he had no time to waste. There must be a way to gain power fast, but he had no knowledge about the topic.
"Master, ask them about the topic. Serafall is a noble devil so her education and knowledge must be wide and varied, Yasaka is the Empress so I suppose that her knowledge must be pretty wide as well."
Adam internally thanked Gaia for her advice.
He should ask Yasaka first since they were in Kyoto; he had read something about Kyoto being a source of magic energy.
"Your highness, do you have any knowledge about supernatural power sources."
Kuriho and Jennifer shared looks, he wasn't lying with his quest for power.
Yasaka sat on the grass and put her hand on her chin.
Kyoto was a place of great energy, a point where the lines of magic from all Japan converge; they were what made her so powerful but since the bounding, she was permanently tied to them.
There were also places in the world where the lines of magic converge either dark or luminous in nature. Those weren't places where someone like Adam was allowed.
It wasn't that she thought less of humans, of course not.
Humanity was an ancient race, even more than angels and devils. The human will should be respected because just it can bend the magic to obey.
Masaru proved the power of mortals when he fought against Susanoo as the champion of the Goddess of the Sun.
Adam was a descendant of Masaru after all, maybe he was as worthy as him, but she wasn't going to simply lead him to the source of power without testing him.
"I know one, in fact, it is right here in Kyoto. It's an immeasurable source of energy."
Serafall instantly comprehended her friend and gave her a look full of surprise. When she convinced her to execute her plan she wasn't expecting such an initiative
"You're eager to escape from your marriage," she thought but felt a little guilty for having it.
Adam felt something inside him getting eager just by hearing her answer, not just eagerness but hunger as well.
"Where?"
Yasaka shook her head and got closer, she poked her nose and smirked. "It would be so irresponsible from me just showing to anyone who asks."
"Right."
Kuriho shook her head trying to end her link with Adam's mind but each time she did it, her own mind connected to his again by instinct.
Adam wasn't fully aware of his instincts but Kuriho could hear their desires pretty clearly and some of them were scaring her a bit; not for what they expressed but because she could sense that they were part of an obsession and fear.
Power.
Protect.
Vengeance.
Justice.
Kuriho decided to go deep inside his deepest instincts and desires, people with normal lives wanted to fulfill primal needs like sex, success, or pleasure.
Adam's needs and desires were different from the average, something normal taking into consideration all the traumas he had.
Love.
Be loved.
Be protected.
Brides.
Bloodline.
Happiness.
Family.
As Adam and Yasaka talked, she walked towards Jennifer and held her hand. The blonde was going to question her action but she sensed and heard the same things that Kuriho did.
The half-vampire felt the overwhelming hunger for power that Adam had.
So that was how Adam felt.
Frustrated for feeling weak.
She could understand him, she felt like that many years before taking the blood of her mother's murderer. It was a slow and painful death.
"Since you already know about Bloody Palace then I don't have to explain too much. It will prove your worth and just it will allow you to trespass its defenses."
Adam looked at Serafall seeking approval; technically he couldn't do such a thing on his own, now that Serafall was his mistress then she was the one who had to approve his actions.
Otherwise, he might dishonor or embarrass her somehow.
Serafall stared at him, she could swear that if he would have a tail it would've wiggled. The woman tried to think if Yasaka's proposal was a bad idea but the brightness in Adam's eyes and that puppy face that he was doing were too much.
"Fine, but I'm coming with you two," she said defeated by Adam's cuteness.
Kuriho and Jennifer walked to them, they weren't to leave Adam alone.
"Is there a problem if we go as well?" the kumiho asked calmly.
Yasaka meditated her answer, it was true that by ancient laws she couldn't allow anyone to enter the nexus but following the rules was what trapped her in that sad marriage.
"There won't be any problem if you two follow my orders."

Atlas, Remnant.
Weiss Schnee had her eyes closed, she was meditating.
After talking with Adam and then with Jennifer, she had to leave Earth-2 and go back to her mansion.
Surprisingly, the matter wasn't about her important company but a call from the Grimm Queen herself.
They talked and Salem informed her about what she was doing. Weiss felt a weight in her chest just by knowing that the Rose were hunting down three of their members.
The motivation behind Jonathan's actions was something unknown to her, she will help with the search but her attention was currently focused on the Grimm Queen.
Weiss was surprised when she saw her but even more when she asked to stay a pair of days.
The "Ice Princess" had her doubts but decided to have faith in Salem's change.
Weiss' mansion was always populated by servants, security, and some astral critters that happened to cross the umbral between their worlds.
The security was almost hypervigilant with Salem, knowing what she did was a normal reaction.
Weiss felt the atmosphere between them quite awkward, which again, was normal.
During the Grimm Wars, Salem took Weiss hostage and almost threw her in a pool of darkness; all of that to get the relic of knowledge to find a way to end with her own life.
Weiss was one of the people (along with Yang, Winter, and the Branwen) to vote against Salem's reform.
It took her almost four decades to accept Salem's presence near her.
"State your business."
"Blood Tea?"
Weiss opened her eyes and stood up to turn around to face Salem.
The Grimm Queen was holding a tray of wood. On it, there was a black tea jug, a black teacup, and a small white cake.
Salem kneeled and put the tray on the floor of marble, she sat leg-crossed and waited for Weiss to do the same.
Weiss wanted to decline her action but that cake was so tempting.
Alright, she will sit and just take a bite.
[15 minutes later]
The remnants of the cake were collected by the spoon and taken to the mouth of the CEO of the Schnee Dust Company, the glorious flavor of the vanilla cake made her moaned.
"This is delicious!"
"I see that it was of your liking, I baked it myself."
Weiss just nodded to answer, she didn't know that Salem had such bakery skills. Millions of years surely make one develop a lot of abilities.
"It's good," Weiss said with a monotonous tone but that showed that she was thankful.
Salem took the teacup and gave it to her, Weiss couldn't refuse it.
Blood Tea, just the Grimm Queen knew why that beverage was called like that; the origin of its name wasn't as dark as it may sound.
The tea was made of leaves red as the blood; they grew in unique trees in the continent of Darkness, her home.
She experimented and found the nectar that was those leaves and its magical and pharmacological benefits.
Drinking it cold caused relaxation, increased concentration, healed wounds in the soul, and acted as an anaphrodisiac.
Drinking it hot caused energy boost, excitement, increased the resilience of the soul, and acted as an aphrodisiac.
In both states, it acted as an analgesic, antipyretic, and antibiotic.
Before drinking the tea, Weiss gave it a look.
It was blood-red and cold, in fact, there were small ice cubes floating in the liquid. The smell was sweet and alone was enough to delight the senses.
She finally took a sip.
Weiss' eyes turned into stars for a brief moment, that tea was insanely good.
"This tea isn't bad," she said.
Obviously, that was she being a complete tsundere.
Now that she was looking at Salem, she had a question that needed an answer. She didn't ask it right away because of Salem's politeness, she couldn't just turn her down and less when all of her sis...teammates asked her to be nicer with the Grim Queen.
"Come on, it would be weiss (wise) to have her as an ally," Yang said before biting her ice cream. Some of it fell on the upper section of her yellow bikini making her growl a bit before the taint that would be in such a fine piece of clothing.
"I won't accept her apologies," Weiss replied crossing her arms and moving backward to shield her skin under the umbrella.
"Weiss (why) so adamant on your decision? She would be a great ally considering all the eyes she has, and the flow tells me that her regrets are real."
Weiss looked at Blake, maybe she was right but...
"Please," Ruby begged. "Masaru wanted us to help her."
Weiss closed her eyes a second and opened her mouth to accept, they won't stop bothering with the topic until she says yes.
Suddenly, Ruby sneezed making a sound similar to a kitty.
"Sorry, I schneezed."
A vein appeared in the white-haired's head, she won't keep tolerating puns with her name!
Blake, Ruby, and Yang decided to quickly get out of the beach. Behind them, Weiss had glyphs created by her semblance on her hands.
"Come back here, you dolts!"
Back in the present, Weiss smirked at the memory.
"Salem, what is the real reason for you to be here?"
The Grim Queen put aside the tray.
"I think that it's about time for me to effort on earning your pardon and trust."
Weiss lowered her gaze briefly before staring at her eyes.
Centuries ago, Salem exuded superiority, anger, frustration, and pain.
Now, while staring at her eyes, Weiss could only see regret and shame.
It was time for her to move on as well.
"You're making progress," Weiss recognized.
For the first time, she saw Salem's smile, not a grin or smirk but a complete smile.
"Thank you."
Weiss rolled her eyes, she wasn't good at dealing with emotions; however, there was something more important at the moment.
"There is another reason for your presence here, isn't there?"
Salem simply nodded and spoke.
"As you might know, I threw myself into a pool of darkness. My body and soul are linked to the darkness itself since then."
Weiss couldn't avoid feeling sympathy for her, millions of years in solitude broke the mind of Salem. Better not speak about the horrors that came from the stars, after witnessed it her sanity shattered into thousands of pieces.
Thousands of years healed her mind but let her desperate to finish her miserable existence.
Weiss couldn't really blame her for what she did, maybe if she was in her place she would have done the same thing.
"I've been feeling that the darkness is...uneasy, I can feel that the universe has been violated, something has passed through, something that doesn't belong to this one."
Weiss frowned, that wasn't good if Salem was uneasy.
When she practiced with the power of the water she could sense an almost imperceptible disturbance in the universe; Blake was better with the water, though, would be wise (no pun intended) to ask her to check it.
"Did you inform the Foundation?" Weiss stood up. "Ruby and I have some power but it's not enough to track down and deal with an interdimensional threat."
"I will, but I don't want to alert them for nothing. I've been a little paranoid since the Grim Reaper told me about Jonathan's interest in the relics."
"But the Twin Gods have left the planet since the Holy Wars and the appearance of the Heavenly Dragons."
"No, I'm talking about R'yleh!" Salem almost cried out but quickly returned to her accustomed calm.
Weiss didn't feel bothered by the emotional outburst she had read about the island and everything else about the topic of the Horrors of the Stars. Salem's action was perfectly normal.
"I see, if what's written is true then they shouldn't get the relics under any circumstances."
Salem was about to talk but Weiss raised her hand to tell her to stop. "Ruby already told me about your reunion, I'm going to help in everything I can."
"I'll do it as well."
Weiss smirked briefly. "Do you have more of that cake?"

Moon Base.
Tearju Lunatique moved slowly through the halls, a scientist was helping her to walk.
"Are you alright, lady?" the scientist asked.
The blonde nodded, after drinking caffeine and sugar over and over again her body had an explosion of energy but after an hour she felt how all of her energy faded away.
"I am, it's just that I'm tired."
She felt how the person helping her stopped so to know what was happening she raised her gaze finding Axl's black vest.
"What happened?" he asked, even when he used a monotonous tone, his deep voice made him sound intimidating.
The scientist tensed up and quickly answered. "I don't know, she was just walking as if she was drunk."
"It's just that all the sugar hit me, I'm fine," Tearju said a little nervous.
"Rest then, take a break. I'm looking forward to what you two can show us."
Tearju nodded vigorously, she was excited about the things that she saw.
Axl looked at the futuristic watch on his wrist and muttered an unknown word but Tearju felt that it was some kind of insult.
Suddenly, Tearju's sight turned red and all she could hear was sirens.
That sound was an almost universal sign of danger.
The scientist swiftly guided her to a safe zone, she knew that it was bad news. She prayed that the danger wasn't a containment breach or an outbreak.
Tearju looked around and found her friend; Mikado was surprisingly calm at least on the outside.
All personnel must move to the nearest safe zone.
Tearju and Mikado shared worried looks but the people around them acted quickly to calm them down.
Protocol black, all personnel must evacuate immediately.
[-]
In a separated section of the base, an armed conflict was taking place.
Bullets came out from the firearms, empty cartridges fell to the floor like rain and the air was hot due to the continuous and repeated plasma arrows that were shot.
The Chaos Insurgency in the company of Jonathan Rose was raiding the base.
Under normal circumstances, the security personnel would fight back with considerable ease but the abnormal power, unbeatable skill, and experience of the blond warrior were making the defense something incredibly hard.
Both Foundation and Chaos Insurgency soldiers were wearing technologically advanced armors.
"We already called reinforcements, the Director is coming too," said one of the soldiers.
"Where are our aura users?"
"They are coming, sir."
"We must focus on the man with the sword, he's the one who's breaking our offensive."
Jonathan got out of cover, unlike the others he wasn't wearing an exosuit.
He was wearing a red leather trench coat, three-buttoned black vest, black dressing pants, and combat boots.
He just was armed with his katana but was far deadlier than any soldier that was shooting at him.
Using the power of Wind, he moved fast enough to leave residual images of himself accompanied by the sound of something breaking the barrier of sound.
The soldiers just could identify him when he abruptly stopped in front of them, the small sonic boom stunned everyone in the hall providing him enough time to attack.
Jonathan spun his katana to hold it in a reverse grip.
He didn't want to kill but the time was running out and the danger was getting closer and closer. He would sacrifice and do everything to fulfill his duty.
The black tsuka hit sideways the ribcage of the nearest soldier, the sound of something cracking echoed in the hall.
The soldier flew like a bullet with great impulse and crashed against his partners with overwhelming force.
The impact left them unconscious, their injuries were enough to neutralize them yet not life-threatening.
Jonathan turned his face towards the leader of the squad of the Chaos Insurgency, he quickly commanded his men to keep moving.
They would kill the soldiers but the only condition of Jonathan to be an ally of them was no killing and they preferred to have him as an ally than an enemy.
The group kept moving through the labyrinthine halls; that was being so easy.
At first, they thought that it wasn't a place where the Foundation contained anomalies, it looked like a normal and huge workplace.
Cafeteria, offices, polished halls, if it wasn't for the location and the presence of armed forces they would have thought that it was indeed a normal workplace.
Jonathan was alert, the place was too quiet; the only thing that broke the silence was their footsteps and the buzzing.
Wait, buzzing?!
"Don't move!"
Jonathan's warning was too late, the entire hall turned into a weapon in the blink of an eye.
The walls retracted revealing dozens of small tesla coils of incredibly high voltage; by pure reflex, he unsheathed his katana and raised it focusing on the power of Light to create an energy dome around him.
Electricity was shot from the tesla coils, the bolts of lightning linked with each other creating a jail of electricity.
The dome reflected the electricity but the unprotected soldiers were electrified, their death was instantly and couldn't even scream of pain.
The bullets reacted with electricity and shot themselves they exploded in quick succession damaging the firearms permanently.
Jonathan expanded the dome and made it explode sending waves of raw energy to overload the tesla coils. His plan worked and the weapons were destroyed.
"I told you to stop."
The sound of a gun being shot was detected by the blond's brain; he reacted swiftly spinning his body to move aside. The bullet passed by and crashed against the wall dinting it significantly.
"Straight to the point, it always was your style, Uncle," Jonathan said while facing the attacker.
Axl frowned and lowered his revolver. "It's enough, Jhonny. Surrender and I'll make sure to keep you protected from the Council's fury."
Jonathan involuntary put more force on his left hand, if the sheath was a normal one it would've been destroyed.
"I don't fear you, I'm fulfilling my duty and I have no regrets."
"Whatever you're doing is not the right thing."
"Rather hypocritical coming from the face of the Foundation, how many fully conscious beings have been imprisoned just for existing? How many innocents have been killed for knowing too much?"
Jonathan spun his katana in his hand as he spoke. "Tell me, Axl. What we did to my son, was that right?!"
Axl remained silent for a couple of seconds before giving an answer. "No."
"Then don't talk about being righteous, we are on the same page yet in different paragraphs."
Axl hunched a little and bend his knees and elbows a bit, he was ready to shoot.
His twin revolvers were big and of high caliber, Smith And Wesson model 460.
A five-round revolver that shoots big and powerful bullets from .45 to .454 and the one which it owned its name.
.460 Smith and Wesson Magnum.
Jonathan and Axl shared looks before attacking.
Axl shot at him with the speed and accuracy of a professional and trained shooter, at the same time his body was surrounded by a brown energy field, no, it was his aura.
Jonathan decided to dodge the bullets, parry them was too dangerous due to their high caliber. If he wasn't intended to hold back he would infuse his body with the entire strength of the Earth but a single strike could kill Axl.
"Holding back will prove to be a fatal mistake, Jonathan."
Axl threw himself at the battle, closing the distance to engage in hand-to-hand combat.
Just before attacking again, he holstered one of his revolvers to deliver a punch to the chest.
Jonathan decided to deviate it with his forearm and use his sheath to hit his abdomen with enough force.
Axl stepped aside and pointed his revolver straight to his face, a point-blank impact from a bullet like that was dangerous. To avoid the shot, he rolled aside making Axl fail the shoot but not his push kick.
The aura gave him enough strength to send Jonathan against the wall.
Jonathan's body was infused at all times with the power of the elements, the power of Earth saved his life.
He rolled backward to use the impulse to stand up, that bullet almost liquified his organs.
It was like being hit by a car at high speed but instead of a general impact, the entire force centered in just an area and from there expanded to the rest of his torso.
Those bullets were no joke.
"Last chance. Surrender now and I will-"
Axl blocked a descending cut to his skull with his revolver, sparks came out from the collide.
"An Impressive weapon, but it won't make you any good," Jonathan said before using a pushing kick to create some space.
Jonathan decided to take the matter a little more seriously.
The Director started dodging slashes, at the same time that he dodged, he shot.
"Time's up, old man."
Jonathan hit Axl in the chest with his sheath, Axl by reflex tensed up his muscles and focused all of his aura on the zone where the attack was going to land.
A normal human would have been launched like a missile and gotten their organs turned into a fine puree, but Axl wasn't an average human.
The attack made his feet slide a little; he felt the whole impact taking a toll on his body but as a warrior, he shrugged off the pain and fought back.
Axl took the offensive with brutal and accurate technique.
During one of their exchanges, Axl managed to land a palm strike on the pit of the stomach of his opponent.
Jonathan stumbled for the hit, which Axl took advantage of.
The Director threw a side kick to pushed him and then he quickly took aim and pulled the trigger.
Jonathan evaded the bullet and attacked.
The blond moved at such speed that the human eye couldn't track his movements.
Involuntary, Axl activated his semblance.
Jonathan was trapped in an orb, his body greatly slowed down. If one looked closely would notice that the color was in a negative palette.
Jonathan couldn't feel anything, neither breath, hear or see.
The atoms and photons didn't interact with his body, they were frozen in time as well.
Without any means to defend himself, Jonathan received the shoots of Axl's other revolver.
Once both of his handguns were empty, he took ten bullets from the bandolier he was wearing.
Axl reloaded the weapons with speed and technique that just a professional would have.
The rounds weren't regular ones, they were filled with a mix of normal gunpowder and fire Dust granting the bullet with incredible power.
If the caliber was taken into account, then it was more than enough to kill Deathstalkers Grimms and Goliaths with a single shot in the right place.
Axl knew that while stopped in time, Jonathan's brain didn't work at all with the electricity inside it being totally frozen.
Without the focus needed to use the elements, he shouldn't be able to defend himself against the bullets.
There was no space to doubt, he could feel his semblance weakening.
"I'll take care of your children, I'll do the right thing."
Behind Jonathan, Neopolitan appeared; it was clear that she was tired.
He was about to take the shoot when Neo grabbed her pink umbrella as if it was a spear and threw it as such.
The umbrella flew at high speed and stabbed the thing that was going to hit Axl.
The Director turned around and didn't even saw clearly before pulling the trigger.
Whatever was there, was at meters from Axl and the bullets impacted almost as if they were at point-blank range.
For a mere second, he could see an amorphous mass of flesh with a strange tendril twisting in pain.
Neo sprinted at Jonathan, she saw Axl's orb disappear.
Jonathan needed seconds to be aware again of the situation, his recovery wasn't peaceful because of Neo's tackle.
Jonathan turned himself into ashes and moved away from Neo's strong arms.
He materialized his body when he was far from them, the wounds made by Axl's shoots were gone.
"That space vampire was hard to acquire," he said with cynism.
Neo frowned, she was obviously angered.
"What the hell are you doing, Jonathan?" Neo asked through sign language.
"It's what must be done to save the world, both worlds. Even saying so is erroneous."
"You crossed lines that mustn't be crossed."
"Such a phrase coming from you, my grandmother has influenced you."
Axl spun his revolvers and holstered them; seconds after doing so, an entire squad of Foundation security blocked the halls from both sides.
"You got nowhere to run, come with us."
Neo didn't wish to fight him, she saw him grow up, learn, fall in love, form a family. Jonathan was like a son or little brother for her and if she had to beat him up to return him the sense, so be it.
"I do sound like Yang," she thought.
Jonathan evaluated the situation, that wasn't just the security at least not the regular one.
They were the nine-tailed fox, the Mobile Task Force specialized in the armed security of the Foundation, when the situation gets too far they were called to deal with it.
"Sir, Delta team here, we got the scroll, we're currently heading to the extraction point."
"Alpha team here, we got the scientists, we're heading to the extraction point."
Jonathan showed no expression but simply slashed the air; when he sheathed his katana a cross-shaped portal opened.
"Unfortunately, I have no time to play. It was nice to see you again, Auntie."
The MTF opened fire but Jonathan created an electric field that stopped the bullets.
"Thanks, Axl, you have contributed to the betterment of mankind."
With nothing more to say, he crossed the portal.
Neo ran towards it but closed instantly after Jonathan crossed.
Axl clenched his fists.
That wasn't just an attack, Jonathan was looking for something and he found it.
"I want to know what this beast is," Axl ordered unable to control his anger. "Whatever it is, it's invisible and dangerous, I want you to look for more, and if there are terminate them!"
The MTF quickly went to fulfill the orders.
"Neo, we must find what Jonathan stole."
She simply nodded and retrieve her umbrella from the corpse.
