"Yeah ... yeah it is"
"I didn't hear you come back"
"Yeah I got in a couple of minutes ago" he said walking over to the bed , he sat on the corner with his back facing Hope.
"How was it" she questioned ambiguously, of course he was aware of what his wife was referring to. He ran a hand through his blonde locks.
"Hard" he whispered "The hardest thing I had to do" he answered honestly.He heard the covers rustle and the bed move slightly.
"I see .."
"I know"
He scoffed somewhat angrily "If you know then why haven't you fed?"
"Because I just had to send away my children Naruto! Give me a break!"
"Our children Hope .. or have you forgotten that I was the one who took them away??"
His tone softened when he spoke , standing up to leave his wife to her own devices "just please feed and clean yourself up we're having a family meeting later to discuss what we'll do moving forward"
Jacob and Ash stood before their master with two bundles wrapped securely in their arms, the watched quietly as their masters face lit up with glee. They couldn't help but feel like they've lost all their humanity at what they were doing, at what they've done.
"Lord Orochimaru" said Ash his jaw clenched , his grip reflexively tightening on the small bundle in his arms, when he watched his master stand up from his make shift throne moving closer to inspect their work.
"You've done well" he said with a mad smile, his eyes lit up with excitement it had been a week the very last day in fact — he was about to punish them for not completing their job but now here they stood with his keys to fulfill his goal of immortality — he couldn't help but praise them after all they did their job splendidly even if they were cutting it close.
"Now hand these two over and you'll want for nothing once we complete our goal" he praised, his eyes narrowed slightly at the tight grip on Ash had on the one child in his arms.
"Tsk tsk don't tell me you've now suddenly grown a conscious ?" He questioned , his face promised excruciating pain depending on the answer of the two vampires before him.
Ash glanced at his partner who held the girl in his arms, nervously. He already sold his soul to the devil , this man before him would destroy him before they were able to take another step. He closed his eyes begging any God that was listening as he pleaded for forgiveness in his mind, his grip loosened on the bundle in his arms.
"No...of course not my lord" he lied and handed the baby over , he looked at the sleeping figure sadly—blinking away his own tears at his weakness — at his inability to feel human.
"We've done what you requested." He paused now looking up to the man "Are we free to go?" Another servant took the boy from Jacobs arms.
Orochimaru's smile once again on his face as he waved away the two men.
"Yes.. yes you've done your job I have no need for you anymore you're free to go" he waved the men away as the men bowed and turned to leave.
"But since you both seemed hesitant on giving me the children in the first place..." his neck elongated ,Ash could feel the man breath on his neck, he tried to use his vampire speed to get away but two sharp canines broke his skin easily.
"I'll leave you with a parting gift of my own" he hissed , licking his lips tasting the blood with his long tongue.
Jacob was held down by two servants as their master approached him with a sadistic smile " consider it for an bonus on job well done!" he cackled, biting into flailing vampire's neck.
Twin screams rang out loudly , the two vampires held the necks in anguish and pain. A gut wrenching pain shot through their entire bodies—their limbs becoming heavier with each shot of pain—their breathing labored as they thumped down to the ground paralyzed.
They watched eyes wide open unable to move as they watched their master bite his finger smearing bloood onto the concrete floor and flipped through signs their witnessed before.
Poof
A loud hiss was heard followed by a menacing, thunderous voice.
"Orochimaru why have you summoned me ? I don't see any enemies" hissed Manda.The black snakes reptilian eyes narrowed in anger at his summoner.
"No enemies , not yet at least however, I have a gift for you" he said motioning to the two bodies that laid stock still in the floor,eyes wide open as they stared at the humongous snake, their mouths unable to make a sound as they literally stared at their death.
"Hahaha a sacrifice? well done Orochimaru, I might keep you as my summoner if you keep this up" hissed the snake, wasting no time in opening its large jaws—slithering near to its prey, his eyes now lit with hunger— as he inhaled the two vampires in one swift gulp— bones shattering between his large razor sharp teeth .. the cracking sound filled the the silent warehouse.
Hope sat quietly in her bedroom listening to the thinly veiled argument happening between her father and husband , she sighed softly.. she missed her children— she missed Eli's quiet chuckles —Ava's loud laugh when Naruto chased them around the compound. Now the entire compound was quiet too quiet . Baby nick was staying with the wolves as well away from any fight. Her family wasn't taking any chances with any member of their family.
It was heartwarming to witness their united front in the face of an enemy, putting aside their differences for each other to defend each other to the death.
Yeah it was heartwarming yet at the same time heartbreaking as well.For as long as she could remember they were constant battles — trying to keep each other safe — first for centuries her father and his siblings ran trying to escape the wrath of Mikael, her crazy vampire hunting grandfather, then Esther with her plots to kill her own children in an attempt to redeem herself—The vengeful yet ancient spirit, The Hollow that split her family up— A whole split into fragmented pieces across various continents to keep her safe.
Recently a whole new type of enemy one that not only wanted the end of the Mikaelson family but with it the entire supernatural community—Malivore— that was her fault no matter how many times she thought about it— her decision to trust Landon yet he was the key that started everything.
Her lover, boyfriend , partner, father of her children and husband came into this world saving all their asses countless times yet asked nothing in return other than her loyalty and love — she could barely believe such a person existed — after all growing up with your father being the big bad hybrid, the villain in everyone's story made you trust less than your average person and live in fear of constant betrayal.
But he showed her how to love completely, what it truly meant to love another person unconditionally— he would deny his own happiness time and time again to ensure she lived.He proved it when he fought against a demon —saving her and every other supernatural creature nearly at the cost of his own life.
She wanted to hate him so badly but she couldn't find it in herself too—his choices were selfish to her at least but to everyone else selfless, he chose to leave her behind while he stood against the threat unwaveringly.
Over his coma period and their wedding she thought her life would finally start to settle — she had her entire family back minus Uncle Finn but like her dad said he was 'a stick in the mud'—never cared for immortality so his absence wasn't missed by her or most of their family other than Aunt Freya who loved Finn but chose a different path than the rest of the Mikaelsons. He believed them to be abominations — freaks of nature with Niklaus being the biggest, so yes it might sound abhorrently cruel to say but she didn't miss Finn one bit.
Back to the present where they faced yet another threat she couldn't help but wonder whether this was her family paying penance for the destruction and blood they shed over the millennia that they lived and if so when would it all stop?
Hope's thoughts were disturbed by a ringing of her cell phone. She turned to pick up a cellphone, she glanced at the ID. The number wasn't one she recognized.
"Hope Mikaelson speaking" she answered quietly barely coming out of her introspective mood.
"Ahh Miss Mikaelson" said the voice on the other side , it sounded cocky , like he knew her secrets , her families she felt an involuntary shiver run up her spine at the hissing she heard in the S in her surname.
"Yes?" She answered cautiously
"I'll make this quick , normally I love playing games but you see time is of the essence... tell me Hope are you alone .. a simple yes will suffice"
She calmed her raging heart, as well as her breathing " yes" she answered simply.
"Good girl .. Now you have something I want and I have something you want so we're going to make a deal"
The voice didn't wait for her answer "Now before you go on and tell me I don't. I want you to listen carefully" the line went quiet before two twin cries was heard, familiar cries.. the sounds of her own children's cries.
"Did you hear that? I'm sure you recognize it being a mother and all" chuckled the person, Hope narrowed her eyes angrily.
"If you so much touch a hair on their heads I promise you I'll tear you limb -"
"Ah ah ah that's not the way this works Miss Mikaelson , I make the rules.. I make the threats! I have what you want so be a good girl and listen carefully before I make sure you never see these beautiful children again."
"Kekeke they are precious aren't they.. looks a lot like their father .. an old let's say 'friend' of mine from my old home"
"Who are you?" She asked between clenched teeth.
"Like I said a old friend of your husbands .. Now that I've got your attention .."He trailed off
"What do you want" she asked gruffly.
"So testy young mothers are aren't they? " he teased
"I want you to come to the following address alone: 95 pillar road, it's an unmarked gravel road. On your left side they will be a black SUV with unmarked plates awaiting your arrival however, if the person sees you being followed your children will never see their mama or papa again .. say yes if you understand" Hope swallowed her anger at her children being threatened.
"Yes" she whispered loud enough for Orochimaru to hear
"Good girl.. you have two hours tick tock my dear"
A/N alright so next chapter might be a bit confusing however it's all part of the plan kekekeke.
