The end in the beginning ch.26
Usagi POV
"I still say that you should have had back up." Luna says, her continued rant of my encounter with the evil princess. I had been listening to it through the back alleys on our way to the arcade for thirty minutes. Even the girls stopped talking as she kept going on. So, once we got inside and her rant went full blown, I let her talk till she was out of breath then asked, "Can I talk?" she seemed somewhat nerfed by that response and shut up.
"Wait seriously?" Rei jumped in now. "No, you need to be yelled at that was completely stupid of you to do!" Makoto tries to jump in as Rei on her little angry soap box now is nearly full blast, "Rei calm down, Usagi can handle her own. Has lots of times before." Rei merely glares at her but subsides, "Listen I know what I did sounds dumb…" I look to Rei, "As you so elegantly described…" I roll my eyes in annoyance.
"But my gut instinct was that she wanted the chance to see me alone again. So yeah, she tried to attack me but as I've come to learn she relies pretty heavily upon her powers rather than anything with combat. She didn't once try to hit me with her hand, just power bolts." I explain telling them that I learned from my fight or confrontation with her today. I can tell the girls take this all in as Luna seems to admit to a partial defeat.
"I still say it was reckless, especially since were not aware of how powerful she is yet especially with her strategic manipulation of events, but it seems you've gotten us information that might be vital." She commends as she sighs and slumps her little cat shoulders…if cats have shoulders that is. "Might be vital?" I look to her pointedly as she looks off, "Fine its information that's useful." she admits.
So, when Minako asks, "All that aside is it even possible to reform the kingdom on earth?" we look to the felines on it as Ami jumps on her computer to see if it is possible. For a moment our feline advisors seem stumped at the thought of it till Mamoru comments, "IF she has enough power, she might be able to do it." we all look to him on that as he walks over to the screen, "But the problem is she'd need the assistance of the golden crystal." he expresses as he hits the screen to pull up the schematic of the earth kingdom.
Ami is busy typing away different scenarios to be played out as we all watch them come to live and see how it can be brought back to life. It looks amazing to be honest. To bring life back into that kingdom. It's a possibility I don't think anyone could have thought possible before now. We had just assumed the crystal palace in the future was in Tokyo because of where we lived, we had no idea that it was for this reason.
Its then that Ami hits a few more keys on the controls and brings up where the center of the kingdom is and on the inside, showcasing where the throne room once stood. "This is amazing." Makoto comments as I nod in my own amazement. "Once that crystal is linked to the kingdom once more it'll be at full re-instated power again. As it is right now it's not at full power." we look to her stunned as she turns to us, "It's no different than the silver crystal in that regard." to this Luna agrees.
"She's right, when your mother, rest her soul, sent you all to the future for a fresh new start it did take it out of her to the point of death BUT she wouldn't have been able to do that to the extent she did even for our enemies at the time if it weren't for being on the moon." I look from her to the image then back to her again, "So should we try to get her to take the fight to the moon?" I ask. Luna however is beaten to the verbal punch.
"With the way this bitch is going at it..." Rei comments, "She wouldn't be dumb enough to go to the moon." Makoto agrees, "She's right. I'm mean look at what we know about her so far." I nod as Minako chirps in, "She wouldn't leave the planet she's working so hard to get...and she knows the moment you leave it, it becomes a free for all for her to take. Were all that's stopping her from global domination."
Its then that I hear Mamoru sigh, "You know I remember how my father had it all linked together at one point to protect Elysian." We nod realizing and remembering why it was needed in the first place. "While Elysian would always remain hidden for safety reasons, she will need my crystal to get what she wants. To gain that throne she'll have to have me use it or to transfer power to her." Mamoru backs away from the image.
Rei then asks, "And how would you 'transfer power' to her?" to this I can see Ami blushing and I purse my lips just a bit in annoyance that Rei doesn't get it. Mamoru can yes give us powerful help BUT its different from transferring the source of power from the golden crystal to someone else. Especially if their intent is evil. Its why he had to be turned when Beryl was around. She knew he would reject her notions if he wasn't evil.
If she were a smart villain though, she would have tapped into his crystal when he was evil but unlike our current enemy, she favored power yes but she also had a high favoring towards him as her own. "It's the other reason why she wants him." everyone but Mamoru looks to me as he already knows why and is looking uncomfortable and obviously disgusted by it. "It was mentioned earlier in our theories. She wants Mamoru free so she can 'save' him so she can get knocked up by him."
The girls all blush, save for Minako who looks more disturbed than mortified. "Scheming bitch." she mutters under her breath. Its then that Luna scolds me not having heard Minako's words, "Usagi that is not the way of a lady! That is – just NO!" I can't help but roll my eyes considering everything else as I talk over her at a decibel louder than before, "Remember how I couldn't activate the golden crystal to its fullest power." The girls looked to me.
Luna was silent as she listened in, not having been there in person to know. "And how Chibi Usa could tap into it when Nehelania attacked us in the circus tent thing we were in?" my words register her reserved brain stem as she quiets down wondering where I'm going with my train of thought. She sees where I'm going with this, "Oh ew." She mutters to herself as she looks away though briefly up to Mamoru before evading his eyes.
"She needs Mamoru so she can coerce him into giving her a part of himself or rise the kingdom himself, otherwise I'm betting you it'll take a lot of her own power to raise it up without the use of the golden crystal. Since he's refusing to do either, she's trying to 'save' him so she can get what she wants. The power that she feels is in there. With you." I turn towards him making him see that he's really the key factor here in this whole mess. My death and his kingdom's resurrection for this evil princess.
"And she can't activate the crystal herself since she doesn't have Mamoru's bloodline running through her." Makoto sighs as she comes to the conclusion. I nod at her words, "Only an immediate family member can activate it. Right now, Mamoru's it." I can feel the air turning somber around us all as we contemplate our next move on the matter till Minako has a very poorly timed question for us.
"What if Mamoru just gets Usagi preggers?" we all look to her even as Mamoru's and my own head crane over to look at her with an 'are you kidding me?' expression on ours faces. She doesn't see the fault in her own logic though. "What? She'd be able to utilize it and reverse anything that this crazy woman does." while there's an understandable note to it, and it's not the WORST plan ever, Mamoru and I are definitely NOT there yet and while it might be a notable idea it's not the only option there.
I bite out as I turn back, "OR…Mamoru and I can both just work to increase our connections with our own crystals. He's the strongest one for any kind of connection." Rei stands up from her seat on this one, "What happens if he doesn't get fully connected?" Makoto looks to her, "He's needs to be as strong as Usagi is so they can fight at the fullest potential." Rei is in agreement, but I can see that she's one of the few people in this group, shocking as that is, that looks to be considering Minako's suggestion.
Makoto continues on though, "Plus, if he's stronger he won't be easily swayed by her dark magic's. He can fight it off better and we're not dealing with an 'evil prince Endymion' again. No offense." she says to him as he folds his arms over his chest, "None taken. It wasn't exactly a highlight in my life." he comments as he looks off to the side prompting Makoto to finish off with, "With him stronger he can be a serious contender and NOT just Usagi." this however makes Rei pop in.
"And what about his new friend, Jadeite?" as if waiting for his cue to come in we all see Jadeite walking into the command center. Its startling for Rei to see him as he passes by the magical barriers that both she and Ami put around the area to ward off evil from gaining access to central control. I can see that Rei is still on alert around him. It might be a while to come before she even begins to lower down her defenses around him.
"I'm coming back into my powers and I can help him strengthen his. I'll be battle ready soon when you need me." he then turns to me, a sorrow expression marring his features as he bows to me. I can't help but be filled with shock as he says, "For my actions against you in the past, and the present past, I'm deeply sorry my dear princess." I can't help but nod a bit as I smile, feeling like this is the true Jadeite we all loved as a brother figure back in the past, "No need, Jadeite, you were under Metalia's spell. It wasn't you." I assure him.
I noticed as he comes in, despite the need to go to Rei, he lets her have her space and goes to sit by Mamoru, his brother in arms. I can see the longing in him to be around Rei though even as she keeps her eyes on him not wanting to trust him just yet. Everyone can sense her unease around him. Her trust in him is being debated internally for her. Jadeite then apologies to Ami as well as she nods her acceptance of his apology.
We all agree to go home once things feel better and once Rei stops glaring daggers into the back of Jadeites head long enough for him to leave out without having to turn back around. I clearly heard him tell Mamoru he felt like coming out and down was a bad idea, but he just wanted to see Rei again, and had to get out of the apartment that Mamoru's in. I guess he finally got a little cabin fever and went for a walk.
Mamoru texts me later on that he and Jadeite ended up doing more strength training and mental training for the crystal to strengthen it and now he can communicate better with the earth than before. He had forgotten that he could talk with it for so long that when he was able to again, he said it felt like he had a friend in it again. I was happy for him on that note. The earth provides us with so much and yet it gets so little in return, so I was really hoping that their training would allow for the both of them to get stronger.
It's what happens the following day that throws us all for a loop. The girls and I are leaving out of another interesting day of school when we notice nondescript black panel SUVs parked outside the school. It was definitely disconcerting as we avoided them from spotting us to begin with. Ami noticed this to as we as a collective ditched the people that were coming out of the SUV's parked out front and made our way around and away from them before they could figure out where we were at or went to.
We decided to sneak around and see what they were discussing. When we manage to get around the SUV's we use our abilities to sneak up on them as they obviously have no idea where we went to. "Where did they go." I we could see the clip boards with our pictures and a small profile of us on them. This was concerning to say the least. We had never dealt with them on this high of a level before.
It's when we overhear them talking about finding us and 'picking us up' that I see both Ami and Makoto ready to tear them a new one. Not sure if its verbal or literal but I can assure you right now this isn't a battle to be fought. Especially not in front of the school still. One thing you don't do without group of friends is try to tear us apart. We're strong and that's not something you want to toy with, enemies have for a while and they lose every time.
Now it's our own government seemingly coming after us. This puts us in a bigger bind than previously expected. I didn't actually expect them BOTH to start walking forward to confront them. I grabbed them both by the backs of their shirts and pulled them back before they could expose us back behind them. Tactically it was a premature move motived only by anger as they barely resisted by pulling them back.
I grab them both and pull back so we can leave together, pushing at them the whole time to make sure they keep moving. I don't want to give them reason to look in our direction...not even a little bit, "Usagi!" Makoto protested once we were far enough away from them to talk. I round on them then, "Don't!" I snip a bit, getting into their faces, though for Makoto it was more like towards her chin.
"I'm not going to try to rip you off of them Makoto, or you Ami. Your both obviously capable soldiers but that was NOT a fight to be had. We had to get out of there." both looked to each other sheepishly before Ami rounded back into logical thinking mode. "Your right, I was just so upset I wasn't thinking straight." I nod knowingly. "But why NOT confront them though? Make them leave us alone." Makoto asked.
Ami looks to me with a similar question, "My gut feeling is that if we went with them, we never make it home. At least not for a while. If at all." it hits them both so suddenly what could have happened if things went sideways, "That was foolish of me." Ami says upset with herself, "Don't beat yourself up, I wanted to beat on them to, I just wanted to get out of there more." Makoto looked to me.
"These guys aren't the enemy that were used to fighting. These guys are part of what we're fighting to protect. There needs to be a way to reason and work WITH them and not having them try to work AGAINST us. Right now, that..." I point in their general direction, "Is against us. No what we need to do is warn the others of what's going on. Put all the girls on high alert with this." I gently order as Ami sends out the message to the rest of the girls.
I notice though as I look back in the direct of where we came from there's a guy standing there, all bulked out ready to fight if need be. I use my enhanced hearing, a perk of being a soldier for so long to hear his words, "You can run and hide for now, but I will get from you what I want. You go over and monitor her movements in the house." I gulp as I hear the other guy he just ordered ask, "What of the reporters out front?"
"Use them as a cover, I don't want them to know that there are agents at their homes just yet." I take off further and warn the girls of what I heard as we each split up and go to our respective homes. Once I'm back home I spot the agent outside. Thanking my own sixth sense I slip past him and inside. Greeting my parents really quickly I take off for my bedroom and conference in with the girls on what to do going forward next.
"We definitely have to do something soon. They were waiting for me at my extracurricular class." Ami says, "And at the restaurant I work at." Makoto joins in, "They tried to come by the temple but were scared away by Pheobos and Demos." I was glad Rei had those two birds around her for added security measures. "Let's try to seek this princess out as a group collective." I suggest.
"We already know she's not good at hand-to-hand combat. She relies heavily on her powers. Maybe there's a way to get her to exhaust her powers. Like ours can get when were out of energy." I suggested as Luna nodded, "It could work." then Artemis jumps in with, "If you could keep her on the ropes long enough, wear her out then use the crystal at the end, both of them to blast her you could definitely win." it sounds like we now have a plan in motion to move forward with, "Just be careful till we do this."
I look out the though my window a bit and see the reporters out there and the SUV parked nearby, "We don't want these government guys to get wind of this and interfere with what we're doing. It'll potentially get them killed to be caught up in our fight. Even if they are currently being dicks about things." Luna swats at my leg for the remark making me yelp out, "Language Usagi." she admonishes.
I ignore her as deep down we have big fish to fry and were going fishing tomorrow. We can't let the SUV people get in our ways. Nor can we let them get hurt in this. Things didn't go as planned though. As the following day came around, before we could even get to school Ami reported an attack happening. As we start to run towards the apartment building, she passed up during the attack Makoto reports another attack happening.
We decide to split up and have three of us go to one attack then two at another. I'm calling in Michuri to get the rest of the outers out there to help out when Rei reports that a building being attacked a few miles from the temple. Three attacks at once. This is highly unusual, unless this was her plan all along. The monsters are attacking all of these places as we have the parents call us off to allow us to go and fight the monsters off.
Before I can think of how beneficial that part was, I'm finding out that the outers are working their way back to Tokyo now as they were out of the area to get more research and insight on our enemy. As I reach the battle going on for where Makoto described it at, I reach the area where the high-rise building is at. We have our communicators on, now with an upgraded feature as ear buds' thanks in part to Luna and Artemis as of recently.
As we try to keep in constant communication so we can find weaknesses in the monsters were fighting. "Why does this randomness of the attacks feel highly coordinated?!" Mars yells out, firing off her own fire rings as we can hear the damage being done to it. So, when I spot the evil princess near me I get close enough to hear her, "You will all pay…" I backed up a little bit and mutter to myself, "Who are you looking for?"
I half thought she was looking for me, but something told me she wasn't, "Hey Mercury I've got the evil one over here, heard her say 'you will all pay', who do you think she's looking for cause my gut says on that one it's not me or us." Just as I ask it, I hear Uranus jump on the line, "Miss us?" she says, "Bout time where are you guys?" Mars asks, "On the outskirts of the city, too far away right now to help." I sigh at that.
"Then help with information." I tell them, "Right well here's something interesting we found out." She begins, "After some massive and extensive research the last few months we found out that she harbored not only a hatred for you as the moon princess but also a hatred for the earth council as well." This was news to us, "I completely forgot about the council from both the earth and the moon." I marveled.
"It gets better, and it ties in with these attacks to." We go silent waiting for her to continue, "She's having her monsters attack where the last remaining descendants are from the earth council. From the golden kingdom era." Were all stunned for a moment, "She's going after the earth council? But why?" Jupiter asks, "Not all of the council mind you but those who opposed her father." Neptune adds.
"The majority of the council didn't like her father, nor his political views or how greedy he was becoming, and they found his daughter to be no better than he was. They began to even fear for the country people whom he wanted to ban from entry into the kingdom itself as he felt they weren't 'good enough' and increase the taxes of people by double. They wanted to take him as far away from the throne as possible." We all knew why now.
"Maybe that was what became the last step for her." I question as I can sense the military presence closing in. she's deflecting them as easily as one could given her powers. I then realize something, "She must have a glamour over her own form to." The girls ask me, "What do you mean?" I grunt as I feel her powers impacting near me, "Cause she's in full view of the military stepping in over the cops and not caring."
I tell them as Uranus points out, "Good point. People of earth would be less likely to turn over on the earth if they think she's an enemy." Then Mercury points out, "People living in fear of their lives and the lives of their children will do anything to protect them, including giving up their freedoms." Mercury had a point there to. "Either way she needs to be taken care of." Mars interrupts as I feel a blast getting closer.
The car I'm hiding behind can't handle this much longer. I jump out, vault in front of the monster and having been focusing on my own power use my moon rod to hit it as hard as I can and my newly amplified power channels it to hit her as well once it destroys the monster and hits her. The monster screams out its demise as I feel drained from the usage yes but better and not nearly as drained as I thought I would.
I was just glad I was able to get up and close enough to get a good hit on it. So busy it was trying to defeat the military sent out the eliminate it and in protecting her that it failed to see me. Her however, I can see she felt that power blast. It rocked her backwards quite a bit. She turns a glare to me as it equates the one, I'm throwing at her. the hate is rolling off of her in waves as she stares me down.
Even the military there working with the cops are noticing this stare down. I don't want them to try to take advantage of the situation but at the same time I need to make her realize not only are we going to fight for this planet but we're going to win this war. She goes to lift up her now bruised arm, preparing to shoot a power blast at me yet I stand still and tall. Not wavering which I can see just pisses her off all the more.
"You wanna throw down go ahead." I warn her, letting her know I'm not going to back down. She cradles her bruised arm more than before though now. I can see the fracture I've caused in her own mind. The one that tells her that I'm stronger than I appear. She hates it and what weakness I've obviously exploited in her. "This isn't over." She growls at me as she seemingly disappears from sight.
It wouldn't be the first time however she's just merely watching now as the troops move in along with the cops as they try to reign civilians in from the blasts she and her monster were creating around the area. I see one person though, in the center. I don't recognize him at all nor does he to me, yet I just know in my gut that he was her target on this one. "What the hell was her problem? Why did she come after me?" he asks me.
I didn't want to get into this now especially since he had no clue as to what happened such a long time ago nor would it really make a major difference yet as I look at him and see the anger and fear in his eyes, I can already tell that despite my not wanting him to get involved, she targeted him for a reason. She might come after him again. I'll have to have our furry felines do a patrol tonight to watch over him.
"It's a long story and one not to be gotten into now but you'll be safe. We'll keep an eye out to make sure she doesn't try to come after you again." I assure him as he looks torn between wanting to trust me and wondering about me to. "I asked her why to." He says as he looks towards me as I can see the policy coming in, military hot on their heels. "She said 'For the mistakes of the past'. What does that even mean? I don't even know her." I breathed in deeply at her actions.
"Like I said it's a long story and if you want come to the temple later on to know more until then get rested and if you need to seek one of the paramedics for any injuries." I look him over but other than some bumps and bruises there's nothing wrong with him. Looks like I got here in time, "She was toying with me." He mutters as I ask, "What?" he looks out towards those that came in towards us.
"She was toying with me. Sending out that weird crap at me. She didn't hit me, barely and that's when I knew she was toying with me. Like a cat would to its prey. I was her prey." I could see the events of what happened finally registering him as I signaled for a cop to come over and get him. As they took his statement in, I could sense them appearing as if to round up on me and while I'd prefer NOT to hurt them, I couldn't be taken in.
"Officer!" he got their attention, having been more attentive than given credit for, "Please she saved me." The barely restrain themselves back as the military seems to be doing the same thing even though I see plenty of them wanting to take me in. several of them round in around me, ready to go if given the word. "Moon how's it going over there?" Mars asks as I hear a monster cry out one last time.
"Finally dead." She breaths in. "Monsters taken care of and I hit her pretty decently to, she might even be needing to recoup after this." I assure them, even as I talk lowly into my own communication device wanting to keep my eyes on the military that are beginning to surround me. I need to get out of here pronto. I'm starting to feel ganged up on out here. "Yeah, the monsters over here are toast. Tougher than the last ones but still beatable." She comments as Jupiter jumps in.
"Nearly to you now Moon, I got held up by the military perimeter set up around the area. I had to ninja sneak around it." She explained. I jump backwards several times to evade being within the circle of them and I make sure to get at least twenty-five yards from them all. I feel somewhat better, but something still feels off. "Something feels off about this guys." I tell them as I see the military looking ready to advance on me.
"Good I'm not the only one who got that feeling." Venus says as she then adds to it, "How'd the military get here so fast to. This is the quickest ever." To which Mercury responds, "It would seem that way." Mercury notes as I bleeky wonder out loud, "Unless our evil princess has some government officials in her pocket." this catches their attention, "What makes you think that?" Mars asks.
"It wouldn't be that farfetched." I express, backing up further. The Military really does appear to be trying to sneak in for a subtle take down and I need to get out of here fast. "After all previous enemies have used innocents before to get what they need from us. It's always someone with whom has the authority to give them what they need to do their dirty work for them." I comment as I leap back again.
"That theory also proves and means that someone on the inside is working for her." Mars adds as I continue to back up away from the military presence. I suddenly feel like their trying to hunt me down. "Which also means it's gonna be harder to figure out who since it could be anyone up in the rankings that could order these guys around." I say as I duck back behind the car that I was behind at the start of this whole issue.
I take off running, not wanting to get caught by them as I head away. Using my senshi sped I make it pretty far losing them behind and feeling a bit better about it before I hear a gasp coming from Mars, "What the…another monster?" I nearly stop but end up running faster as I go to where she is till, I hear Venus say, "I've got one over here to." I see Jupiter heading my way to only to find that another monster appears between the two of us, bigger than the last one I just fought off.
"I've got two over here." Mercury gulps a tad bit. "Uranus! Neptune! Tell me you two and Pluto and Saturn are close by!" I nearly shout considering the dilemma were now facing. We've dealt with multiple attacks before but never more than two or rarely three at a time. It required to much energy for the enemies to dispel and their superiors felt it was a waste. Though I also feel that it was also due to the bigger bad guys not wanting to admit that we were strong enough to take them out eventually.
Their arrogance was our aid in those wars and now it seemed might be something to help us here to, at least I was hoping so. Cause causing this much of a ruckus and using up that much power for her is a bold stroke for sure. It made me wonder if she really wanted to go after the council member descendants or if there's something more to it. "We're just getting into the city now; we'll be rounding near Mars location soon though."
Neptune assures us, "Pluto and Saturn are right behind us." I nod hoping we can do this in time. I notice the monster in front of me smiles wickedly at me, its utterly creepy. "Okay good, lets co-ordinate this, Venus go help Mercury while Neptune gets to Mars." I begin shouting orders out while both Jupiter and I start to fight off the creature before us, "Uranus go help Venus and Mercury." I dodge a power hit as Jupiter hits it with her lightening.
I jump around and hit it from behind as I use my tiara to shove it into its backside causing it to scream out in pain before I jump off to assess the damage I caused. "Pluto get your butt over here and Saturn since there's two creatures with Mercury right now help them." I dodge a now slow -moving hit towards me. "That plans not going to work well another one just popped up over here." Mars grimly tells me.
"Then Saturn stay with Neptune to help fight with Mars." I order as she agrees before the transmission is cut short. We're now all fighting new monsters trying to tag team them as much as we can back and forth. Jupiter and I bounce back and forth each taking hits as I conserve some of my energy for the moon rod to use. Just when the monster is nearly dead, I see the evil princess smiling vindictively at me.
Like she knows something that I don't. As she walks away, instinctively I know I need to go after her. "If you want the attacks to stop follow me...we'll have it out just the two of us." She's caused us to much pain and has become an encumbrance not just to us but to the world. She's becoming worse than any previous enemy before her and she needs to be ended. I now had a feeling as to WHY we were dealing with so many monsters right now and it sucked that it was a good plan on her part.
"Moon hold on I'm coming in. Near you and Jupiter right now." Tux announces through the communications we have. Part of me wants to ask why he's so late but since his school is on the other side of the city form here it's no wonder it took him a bit, "Good, help Jupiter finish off the monster here, I have a massive bone to pick with our resident enemy." Jupiter looks up at me as the monster had just been blasted by her thunder.
It spins onto its side looking closer to a deformed smoked salmon than a threatening monster now as she kicks at its slowly dying form. There's an absolute murderous expression in her eyes as she uses her anger with all that's been going on to render the creature into a bloody mess, "Go get the bitch…" she punches the creature hard enough to make even it dizzy as I can see its ready to be killed at this point. "I've got this piece of crap." She looks downright smug as she steps on it with her boot.
I leave off, "Wait Moon!" he tried to contact me, "I need to end this and if I can injure her one on one, I can end her before this gets to be too much. I'm getting tired of the enemies getting stronger and we have a one last ditch effort to save things and manage to do so by the skin of our teeth. I'm cutting this off at the head before anyone else gets hurt by her. To many people already have, NO MORE!" I grunt as I dart through the wooded area.
"Besides that's clearly what this is now. She's wants to be alone with me in this final battle." it's what her aim was all along. I look behind and see Jupiter handing the monster its own rear. "To be alone as she feels…she wants you all to be too busy fighting so that it's just us." I knew something felt off about this whole thing. My gut told me something was off yet I just dint know what it was till now.
The monsters to attack the descendants of the council members, it was yes something she wanted to do but it was also a means to an end, luring us in with the bait. Then separating us off so she can get to me. Her real target had never changed in this. So, as I ran to her, I found myself enshrouded in an unfamiliar part of the forest area. It was denser and thicker with trees and foliage than the rest of the area.
Before I could get in to deep, I stopped catching my breath a bit. I look around, listening for her, wanting to make sure she can't jump out from around a tree. Yes, it may NOT have been the best idea to allow the lure to work but we couldn't let her get away again. To many times already she has. Its only fueled my need to stop her all the more. "There's nowhere left to run or hide." I mutter knowing she can hear me wherever she is.
I turn around keeping an eye out for her only to find her behind me, a smile on her lips as if she's the cat that's caught the canary. "Who says I'm running or hiding?" she says as all at once I'm completely and utterly blinded by the seemingly millions of bulbs coming on all at once on me as I put up my hands to block the sight of them out. I see the military coming up out of the trees and surrounding me.
Guns pointed at me and others with rioting shields for themselves. I don't want to even think of what their plan is for me, but it can't be good. I can sense behind me, far enough NOT to be spotted by them, Tux. Jupiter must be handling the monster on her own pretty well for him to disobey my order. We work together around here so when I sense him back there, I feel a small amount of comfort.
However, it doesn't take away the fear of what those surrounding me are planning to do with me as I see them coming out guns up ready to take a shot if ordered. "Oh, and Moon..." I look back at her as she just gives me a mixed expression of 'not happening' and as if she were actually tisking at me, "We're not getting any help today." The evil princess motions with her hand and flings Tux's unseen form from where he was at back even further than before preventing him from being able to help now.
Not knocked out though I can hear Tux running forward and this time he goes to use his own powers. "He'll figure it out eventually that you're the cause for all this pain and suffering." she tells me as I look around and see them moving forward. I tense only to see that the tree roots are coming up to trap them in their places. Knocking several of them down and disarming a few more of them.
I realize Tux is using his powers to control and use the tree roots to grapple onto the military in the front of me, I back up and see how he's using the surrounding forest to push the military back away as well. I have to admit Jadeite's help with him has been really useful. I manage to nearly get out of the 'hot zone' when a frustrated evil princess blast's him twice more. "I said no help!" she snaps at him. Clearly having had enough.
I have had enough to though. I go to engage her in a physical fight giving him a better chance of deflecting her strikes. He shots out a blast himself forcing her to put her shield up as I go to power up and land a hard built-up strike of my own on her with my mon rod. She expands her shield though, more prepared this time than the last time I nailed her. Yet I can tell that it's weakened up just a bit.
That's when I hear Luna in my ear from the communication system, "Keep working at it, her defenses are beginning to wane." she encourages making me pump more power into her. I can see the bitter annoyance of it in her eyes as she glares at me with such loathe that I can't help but feel more motivated to fight back at her. "Hate me all you want..." I tell her, "But I will NEVER stop fighting against evil." I feel like my words power up my attack as more power feels like its flowing in the attack.
Similar with Tuxedo Mask as if he were encouraged to. This was good news. We had to get this back to the rest of the girls, yet not till we weakened her enough to leave. I didn't want to leave off now, we were to close. I can now tell though that with both of us attacking her she's more on the defense than the offense and she's not used to that. Both of us can not only see it but feel it to as her shield seems to get close towards her own form.
What once was pushed outward is now getting closer to her body. As we begin to close in on her, pouring more of our energy into the attacks, the military who were previously held back and down by Tux's efforts are getting freed up since his powers are being diverted into battling her as she does the same with him. She notices this though as do I. "ENOUGH!" she shouts and uses a big power blast to throw him into a far-off patch of trees and myself into the side of a nearby thick tree that cracks from the pressure of the hit on impact.
For a moment my breath is completely knocked out of me. I feel it bruise me up a bit, but I've had worse as I stand up not seeing him getting back up from this distance in the woods. "You'll bow down to me eventually my dear prince…till then…" she turns her focus back towards me. I should have gone after her with a hit from the silver crystal but if I did then these guys would have seen it.
As Pluto said I can't let that be seen. I see the military fully released from the bindings Tux put on them I try to reason with them "Please guys you don't want to do this. She's manipulating you. I'm NOT the enemy, she is." I assure them yet I can see it on their faces that it's no use, it's not going to matter what I say. She's got them wrapped around her fingers tighter than a snare drum and it's not going to go away with a few words in such a short amount of time. I hear her words as I keep my eyes trained on them.
"As far as they see it, I'm their salvation and you…you ARE the enemy. As you were always meant to be seen. Moon witch. It's time for the world to see you for who you really are and for who I really am... the enemy..." she looks at me as I look back at her, "And their future reigning Queen." I could see it in their eyes. The effect she had on them. Her magic on them as they were wrapped around her lies. I had energy left in me but only enough left to use it for one purpose and I had to decide which option to use it for.
Try to escape this obvious now ambush and grab Tux to run out, attack her or heal the lot of them. I glare at her and at the damage she's causing, "You won't win this." I tell her, "Little moon witch...I've already won. All that's left now is removing that spell over the prince's heart and mind you've placed on him and place him under MY protective powers." memories of how Beryl did something similar come to mind.
How difficult it was too free him, getting worse each time, despite how powerful I had been getting. The last time was a last-ditch effort with the purity of our love that paid off in that gamble. I try to ignore her words and keep focused on the military in front of me, but her next words had me losing my focus, "Don't worry I'll take care of him...he'll never even remember you existed." In a moment of anger, I rush her.
It was a stupid move I knew it, but I still did it. I couldn't believe that after everything that we'd done for people that they would seek to exact justice against us when all we've ever done was protect them. So, when I hear Tux running back towards us, she prepares another blast towards him. I leap up higher than before, ready to attack her only to get hit with so many stun gun tasers that I can't feel my own limbs anymore.
I suddenly get a flash to what it would be like if I got hit with Jupiter's lightning strikes as I have no choice but to relent in my power and fall to the ground. On my knees I force myself to stay upright. I manage to rip a couple out of my sides. Lessening the voltage but there's only four more to replace them. I grab at two of them and in my own fury rip them out of my back crying out in anger.
I can't stop the shaking I go through however as three more hit me. The troops advancing in on me as I keep to pushing myself up off my knees and back onto my feet. It's hard but not the worst I've ever dealt with. One of the new shots hits me in the back of my neck. That one makes my knees feel weaker than before as I feel the need to curl up to try to reach them to pull them out but it's no use.
Plus, I refuse to give in, so I don't. It's when four more guys come in that I'm given no choice as I feel my body weakening from the all-consuming voltage going through me. My body becomes trapped in convulsions as I fall to my knees. There's to many troops around me to count and I'm effectively pinned. Yes, I could blast my way out, but I don't want to hurt anyone. That's not what we do, not who we are, and in the end these guys are just as innocent as the people we save all the time.
Their being manipulated to. Right before I black out, I see a chopper above us, a news chopper filming the events happening. As one of the closer guys puts the nuzzle of a very big looking gun by my head. I refuse to close my eyes if this is my end. I look at him squarely wanting to make sure he knows who he's got his gun pointed at. The other guy who's putting me in very thick looking cuffs while I'm still going through shocks nearby stops him.
"Not here…" yet the gun persists, "Hey!" a deep warning in his tone of voice. Only then does he back off a bit. "Not here, to many eyes…" he points above to the news that has a prime shot of us in the thick of the woods while in the chopper. "What about our deal with her?" he asks him as she backs off, a smirk playing on her face as she disappears, "She never specified to kill her, only to take her out of the equation. That's what we're doing."
I notice the guy nods, "Taking advantage of that fine line." as he helps him secure me in place, "Besides, they want her alive for experimentation." The fear hits me all at once as I feel blackness from the stun guns finally taking its toll on me. I've never been stunned before and so when I feel that tiny bit of power left in me itching to be let out to do something, I have one of two options.
One use it to blast them away, to free myself…well possibly free myself there was no guarantee I'd get away unless I sailor teleported myself out which I've only done once or twice in my life before, I mean the odds would be in my favor, but I couldn't hurt a human. Not people that were sworn to protect the people and were just being manipulated by her. They made a deal yes, but they are clearly trying to one up her by NOT killing me.
Problem also was I couldn't do it anyways, not especially in my weakened state. I just got done killing one of her monsters and fought another one before fighting her and putting a LOT of energy into that strike on her shield. She wanted me this weak so I couldn't fight these guys off as easily especially knowing I wouldn't want to hurt them. My second option was staring right at me though.
As I looked over, I see her moving towards a less injured than me Tux. He'll fight her to the death if need be but her unwillingness to kill him doesn't mean she won't use others means to get what she wants. Especially since he used a big power blast to hit her with already. He's not at full power, and neither am I. I can see the smugness on her face as he seems to be coming to right about now.
However, there's no time to waste. She's using this as a prime opportunity to take him while they take me, and I can't allow that. I don't want him to go through that pain again, and while he's stronger than before I still can't let her try. So, decision made I breath in deeply and with my last waking breath send a powerful blast through the scepter, bypassing the troops and towards her that catches her off guard.
I force the wave of power to split up. One goes and hits her. She gets knocked away this time as the other blast puts a woozy Tux in a protective bubble and shoots him to the closest senshi for safety. Her last words are whispered towards me on the winds, "I may not have him yet, but they definitely have you." I try to form that new shield I learned of previously but I'm too low on power to do so with these people so close to me.
Plus, even my own shield knows I don't want to hurt them. Its then that as I feel the electricity faltering from them, I can feel my limbs beginning to forcefully unlock from the pain. I try to build up more power to escape only to be hit with several dart looking things. My body stops trying to move. It takes me a moment to realize I've been tranquilized as I completely pass out with Luna's worried frantic words in my ears calling out to me, begging me to fight back, begging me to come back to base. Sorry.
